Reviews of NUS Museum
Very informative and interesting experience.
Very nice museum. The best thing about this place is the low number of crowd / visitor. My kids feel very free walking around and staying for a long time at any exhibit
Some of the write ups are excellent. Exhibits are not bad as well.
However, information brochure given to me was outdated and place was way too quiet. (I was the only visitor in the entire museum.)
Quite an array of Asian/contemporary art pieces on display. I enjoyed my time here and was pretty impressed with the museum despite it being a part of a university. Easy to access by public transport.
It's free for NUS students.
It's not a very big place, only 2 levels.. But it has amazing specimens.
We had enjoyed a visit a lot, fine place to visit in city. Thank you.
Great museum to visit with great learning about heritage and ancient relics. For tourist as well for locals it's great place

The artworks in there were amazing, especially the ones about the Vietnam War.

The design of universities in Singapore usually does not have conspicuous gates and entrances. This can be seen as advocating an open culture, allowing students to have more connections with the outside world. This open feature also extends to the design of university buildings. National University and Nanda-ri also have museums with rich collections, which are worth a visit. The National University of Singapore (NUS) is the oldest university in the Lion City with many predecessors. In 2015, NUS celebrated its 110th anniversary. The algorithm comes from the Straits Settlements Medical College established in 1905.
Admission is free, and there are more than 8,000 collections with rich themes and diverse themes, ranging from ancient Chinese porcelain and bronzes to traditional Chinese painting master Xu Beihong's "Horse" and Qi Baishi's "Shrimp", and of course also include works by many local artists such as Huang Rongting. .
The three-story small museum in the school is located at the back of UCC. It has rich exhibits and is free to visit.
Visited in September 2022.
As expected of NUS, I can't help but be surprised that this content is made available for free. The students seemed to take turns manning the reception desk, and they kindly guided us around the building.
The floor has three levels, and each level seems to have exhibits with different themes. On the first floor, there were exhibits such as earthenware pottery and hanging scrolls, and there were also some exhibits from Japan. On the second floor, when I visited, there was an exhibition of paintings themed around the Vietnam War.
There are plenty of parking lots nearby, so I think it's convenient to go by car.
Best of all, it's always empty. If you like art, it's worth a visit.
It's free. Surprised!! ️
The content is deep.
When you're done, Bar Bar Black Sheep will be waiting for you.
The collections on display are very historical. I admire Mr. Li for receiving so many cultural relics.
A great museum and free.
Only two floors, low cost performance
Really great and free museum. They must not be used to seeing tourists because the first question is whether we made a mistake with the natural history museum next door. Then we have an exhaustive reminder of what not to do in a museum: drink, eat, run, touch... (used to receiving classes?)
But then! An anthology of Chinese ceramics over thousands of years, Vietnamese war painting, a potpourri of Malay art at all ages and linked to the Singapore site. The presentation is as superb as it is intelligent. Finally, whether we should rejoice or be saddened by it, very few people.
The porcelain collection is worth a look.
