Ive been with 8 tones for abt 2 yrs. i learnt abt them fr TikTok. 😁 I’ve always wanted to learnt the Chinese flute, so I thought I go check them out. Expecting the place to be very “Chinese”, teachers to be old and staff to be stuffy. 😂 I was pleasantly surprised by what I saw. I felt that it is young and full of energy. They conduct lessons for numerous Chinese instruments. Teachers are very professional and staff are friendly and helpful. Btw,Young and pretty too. 😄 There was a group class starting that very evening. I signed up and the rest is history.

I learned guzheng as my school CCA in group setting and has no access to lessons since working life took over. Been taking lessons with Eight Tones since mid 2022 and took my graded exam last year. Experience has been pleasant and consistent since day 1, even when i was there for the non obligatory trial lesson. Thankful for the ever friendly and steady support by the team, they are attentive and always signal me on the room number so I don't have to enter the glass door 😂 they always respond promptly to whatsapp, and the interaction between the staff members feel like a closely knitted team. I am fortunate to have a patient teacher who helped correcting my techniques, prepared me for the exam, and share pop song music sheets to break the routine at times. (This request is based on your needs and objective.) They carry a wide range of quality instruments, constantly sourcing and bring in hand picked collections by their team who are also seasoned musicians. I was fortunate to be guided by their specialist who explained to me in detail on the different types of guzheng to suit my long term needs, anticipated my questions and demonstrated and allowed me to try the various guzhengs with help of another staff. They also helped me with the recommendation of guzheng nails for my needs. They also have an active YouTube channel sharing resources, guides and instrument demo, easing access to the community. Regardless of your needs, as someone new to learning music, or someone like me who resumed guzheng lesson after a break of 16 years and progressing grades, they are well placed and equipped to help. P/s: can't wait for my second guzheng (mujiuchen fan yun) and new xuan guang case !!

We bought our Guzheng from Eight Tones with recommendation from my child’s Guzheng teacher. We purchased a Xuan Zhong model which produces a rich and beautiful tone. My child loves the sound it produces. The staff from Eight Tones are friendly, approachable and helpful. I was even given the opportunity to try out different Pipas, allowing me to understand the unique tones each one produced. Bought 2 guzheng from them, a beginner model when I first joined and then when I upgraded to the Zhuque. Both times, the staff were super patient with me, especially when I bought the Zhuque. They even had my teacher, Ms Zhou test my current guzheng against the Zhuque and another mid range model so that I can better decide. p.s if you're looking for a stool, their mujiuchen stool is light and classy looking!
