Their ba Chor mee is consistently satisfying and filling! The noodle is QQ, chewy and drags the sauce very well. Particularly, when mixed with the half boil egg that coats the noodle with extra creaminess like carbonara consistency. The Charsiew are like the ramen style, big round pieces thinly sliced with good fat to meat ratio. The chilli and vinegar level is just right too but can ask for more vinegar if you prefer stronger taste. The soup is much thicker than usual ba Chor mee soup and no funky pork flavour. The staff are friendly and can take digital payment through QR scanning. The place is an open air hawker so it can get warm or crowded at times. Overall, highly recommended ba Chor noodle.
Love their fish soup, very sumptuous & worth it. Lot's of fresh fish that's in big chunk, meat ball & veg. A filling meal even without the carbs. Their bak choi mee also very delicious, must try!
Love eating their signature noodle and I recently started to buy their signature noodle and add-on their amazing char siew!!
Noodles are always seasoned so well with vinegar, their broth, chilli and other ingredients that I can’t identify. Remember to ask for soup if you’re ordering takeaway too, their soup is SUPER flavourful!
Every component in this bowl is amazing 🥹 the pork lard, meatball, char siew, noodles, onsen egg, liver etc etc
Highly recommend! Am a frequent customer of this store~
noodles were slightly overcooked and on the saltier side, portion was rather small as well, considering the price paid ($6.80), pork liver was slightly undercooked with a hint of pink, onsen egg was there but it felt like it doesnt elevate the dish - making it feels a bit jelak
chillied version, wasnt spicy, considered to be on the very mild side, possibly diluted by the eggs
on the other hand, fish balls were alright. meatballs were self made, flavourful with a bouncy texture in every bite. charsiew was great, fatty and tender, even better than some of the ramen joints out there
I give it a thumbs up because of the ramen like char siew that is one of the best I’ve had. Somewhat like a cross between ham and char siew. It will not be out of place on any ramen. Pork liver was also not over cooked. That’s a plus. Noodles were done al-dente. Also a plus. Only minus was the sauce. Vinegar was kind of overwhelming and didn’t gel well with the chilli. But the soft boiled egg did well to cut the spice.
Bak Chor Mee with Lor Bak that's prepped Japanese chashu style. It melts in your mouth and even has that char on the skin that adds the smokiness flavour
Taste diff from normal bcm... Unique soup base, flavourful. But have to say if you want to eat the signature, its less affordable to be eaten in a daily basis. Perhaps can try the normal.
Tried the signature noodle, with an added onsen egg to make it two awesome eggs.
Definitely not your usual and traditional meepok taste, with the noodles being more soft than springy, and a constant vinegar note underlying the whole dish.
Fishball was alright, but the rough meatball had a surprisingly strong and peppery taste which I enjoyed, eating that with a piece of chilli padi made it nice. The pork slices were flavourful as well.
The onsen egg certainly brought out a more textured flavour profile compared to just having the bowl without the egg.
Soup had lots of mini minced meat, and can tell most if not all of the meat were cooked with the soup base. But the soup still lacked enough flavour to keep me interested.
All in all still a good bowl of meepok with a fusion twist!
Wow the owners are very generous with the ingredients. Sauce, noodles and char siew was good. The only thing I feel it can be improved was the pork liver which was slightly overcooked. Other than that, value for money. Highly recommended! Curry noodles only available during weekends!
Braised pork is soft and fatty. Meat balls and fishballs are firm and bouncy. Soft boiled egg give extra texture to the noodles.
Multiple ingredients; pig liver, minced pork, meat ball, fishball, soft boiled egg and braised meat.
However, all ingredients could over loaded with mixture taste.
Could have fewer to make it more affordable and clearer taste.
Ordered the Signature Noodles (Meekia & topped $1.20 for Udon). Both were equally good! Meekia is not the usual meekia, more of the koka noodles. Udon cooked perfectly still bouncy. Chilli & vinegar just right. The charsiew very fatty and yummy just hoped it was thickerrrr... overall good bowl of noodles.
($6.80) To be honest, it taste like regular BCM, more vinegary and with Japanese toppings. I didn’t taste like what I expected from the photos -1 star, but the portion was quite generous . Pork was not seasoned and was on the fattier side: better to mix it with the BCM sauce first. Soup was on the bland side similar to shiitake dashi.
The signature noodle is a recommend, the noodle in 1 bowl is sufficient for one to eat.
I'd call it Singapore Ramen because this Bak Chor Mee has a shoyu flavor closer to Jap Ramen, especially with the tonkotsu lookalike pork slices, yum! Noodles were bouncy as well. Great first try!
Noodles is cooked al dente. Japanese style char siew is tender but lack favour. Added some black vinegar for a more robust taste.
Decent Bak Chor Mee with a twist(with onsen egg and Japanese style char siew) though I do not think it actually elevate the taste more than it elevate the presentation of the noodle.
Had a share of the noodles this week, the signature noodles with mee kia was well orchestrated with the onsen egg infused with the mix of sauces, vinegar etc.. was done pretty well. Definitely will drop by again.
Eggcellent Signature noodles cooked to perfection. Texture of the noodle just right. $5.50 if paid by cash or $4.95 via tuckshop app.
Not bad, fusion bcm with chashu and onsen egg. Noodle is cooked to perfection, unfortunately chilli just missing that extra punch for me.
Surprise catch of the week. The noodle is nice. Just hope that the chasiew has less porky taste would be perfect 👌
Sous vide egg looks on point!
The fusion Bak Chor Mee was quite satisfying. A must try!
Never expect would get such high quality noodles here. Highly recommend!
