Reviews of Bedok Corner Hokkien Prawn Mee
Many halal stalls here in a hawker centre. Halal Hokkien mee was quite good. Must eat while still piping hot.
Dropped by to buy a takeaway Hokkien mee. It was an off peak period (4.30pm) so there was no queue. Service was super fast. Ordered at 4.31pm, received at 4.34pm.
The stall is located within a hawker centre. Recognisable by the signboard. The couple who manned the stall were pleasant.
The Hokkien mee is good. It was still piping hot when I opened the brown paper at 4.54pm. Chilli was packed separately in a small plastic packet, and the lime (1 piece) was placed in a plastic bag with the Hokkien mee in brown paper, and chilli in its packet.
Flavour and texture was good. Sufficiently moist. Taste is slightly different from the typical Hokkien mee because it’s Halal, so no pork was used.
Enjoyable overall.
Last I came to eat Char Kway Teow was in 2021. The taste is not as good as several years ago. Maybe there's a change of cook.
Hokkien Prawn Mee. This stall new owners have promised to uphold the famous taste that had made them famous, yes the original owner has retired and handover-ed. Also I recommend ordering the version with the Opeh Leaf as it does makes a difference.
Plenty of delicious food here. Can be crowded during lunch time, so plan yr trip when going there.
1st time having halal hokkien mee in my favourite wet style. Very tasty and shiok with the samba chilli. For those who like spicy can mix all into it.
Nice and piping hot
$6 Portion is good for 1.5pax
Queue is a bit long so b prepared to wait
Ordered the $7 plate was hopping the portion can at least filled 1.5 pax. But the portion was relatively small.
For the food wise, its quite tasty even when its halal and without the pork lard.
Chili was quite spicy
I am crazy over Hokkien Prawn noodle. Since they went thru & obtained Halal certified, it has been my "comfort" food. Regardless of who prepared it when ordered, it has the same consistency 👌. The thing that make tis stall against others that I've tried is the self made chilli paste.. 😏. Nevertheless, it depends on individual taste buds.
Noodle is leaning towards sweet and soupy. However the queue is rather Long as the Uncle is the only one cooking while auntie will take your order.
What I feel is lacking is pork lard and don’t really see any pork belly.
The Hokkien Mee was good..it's comes with squid and prawn.. gravy was yummy too.
We came during lunch hour, however parking lots still available.
Foods are good. Enjoyed the cockles char kweytiow, carrot cakes and mee soto.
First experience at this wonderful eatery place. Food was great. a lot of varieties to choose from. Will go back to enjoy the crowded atmosphere.
If you don't mind the hawker centre ambiance, the Food galore is right here! Most of the stalls are Halal, including the delicious Holkien mee! 😋
We've been eating there more than half our lives, and we're baby boomers! History with the Special Chen Tng Family!
Yummy fried meehoon sold for $5 before lunch time. It was served with pickled green chili, thai sambal and even a packet of keopok ikan. What a delight.
4+ stars. Owner has handed down and halal squid and prawn hokkien mee is still 1 of the best around.
Food quality:
+ Wet Hokkien mee but noodles are springy and not soggy. Very flavourful taste though many have commented wok hei taste has been diluted.
+ Sambal chilli goes very well and is just a little spicy.
Food portion / Price:
- Portions are definitely a bit small and start from $4.5.
+ Yet to try opeh leaf version but I imagine it’ll be even better and for sharing.
Service: Pay upon ordering, get buzzer which will ring
Crowd: Expect some wait time even when there’s no visible queue. 15 min wait at 1+pm on Monday, expect even longer wait time during dinner time!
Payment: Sg QR apps accepted.
Moved to a new place, still pretty good.
I was sceptical when was told it’s a halal stall. Cos Hokkien prawn noodle is a dish associate with pork lard oil and the crispy pork lard. But surprisingly it’s good especially with e super shiokk sambal belacan! It’s a perfect combination! With a very distinctive taste of belacan and lime zest taste in it.
Plus it was dabao from East to North all the way …the noodle wasn’t soggy or dried up.
Recommended !
The portion was a bit small for a price of $6.50
Which maybe good for lady but not the guy 😉
Ordered tge Chinese Hokkien Fried Mee (Halal) with generous seafood amount given. Eat there to taste the meal served hot. Its delicious.
The original owner of the Hokkien mee only cooks in the day and leaves it to another party to do the evening shift. The taste differs slightly from the original but nonetheless palatable. Its unfortunate that age has taken a toll on the couple who spent long hours at the stall.
Self-service stall. The food is nice.
Cheap and good dish!
Noodles had soaked up all the soupy goodness, soft but not marshy. The prawns/octopus are fresh too!😋 chilli is yummy too, not too spicy by my standard
It is no longer the old couple managing the store (sad) but I must say the new guys didn't disappoint. Enough for me to want to write a positive review :) HKM is my all time favourite sg hawker fare.
Changed to a grp of young guys managing now. It should explained why queue shorter now, they were really faster then Original Owner (Mr Ee) The taste of HKM is much better/flavourful then it used to be definitely. Mr Ee’s mee was sweeter, it’s kinda weird for HKM to taste that way (don’t majority agree ?!) It’s worth going back for sure!! 👍🏼 No disappointment..
Delicious Hokkien Mee with a Generous spread of prawns , pork n Cuttlefish ! U can also buy barbeque Sting Ray fish , Sea shells fried Kang kong n other type of vegetables n many other stalls like Delicious Bakchor Noodles value for Money , Satay Beehoon with very generous pork n delicious nutty gravy worth the long que ,and many other stalls work buying for a fulfilling tummy .Try n you will be Happy .Eat n you will Enjoy .
Saw the stall but this hawker centre shuts down by 10 pm.
If you wanna eat here at Bedok Corner Hawker Centre got to come before 9 pm is the best
Specially for epok, teh tarik, hokkein mee, fish pengyet and some fried food.
A good place for those who enjoy Malay food. An abundance of stalls serving Malay cuisine.
Comfort food at its best. Live at eastwood for 20 years and is still serving one of thr best hokkien mee in SG

This place has been in operation in the early 70 but has gone through refurbished till today, stall and surrounding is much cleaner and comfortable for dinning
