Reviews of Ci Yuan Community Club
The place has a big hawker center with wide variety of food choices at reasonable prices. Ample sitting space and car parking space.
Good Oyster Omelette, Wonton Noodles and Handmade noodles.
There are also a few small eateries on the first floor.
The hawker centre is very spacious and clean! Had a good variety of food to choose from, all reasonably priced. My personal favourite is the Satay bee hoon stall. The lor mee stall beside is also good. If you are looking for something unique, you might want to try out the cod fish lor mee.
Went there for chingay. Very loving community. There is also a hawker centre there for members of public. Have subway here too!!
Food at hawker centre reasonable price. There's a polyclinic but waiting time seems longer thou not much patients. CC not much activities. Felt too quiet n bored going there.
Very clean, spacious hawker centre with a wide variety of local food! There’s tasty hokkien prawn noodle which is the moist type with excellent chili (attention chili lovers!), the satay stall nearby serves satay with charcoal grilled finish and don’t forget to head to the ckt stall and add on fresh oysters! :)
Didn’t eat at this place but at SOD Restaurant! We had the Burger which was expensive and good!
There is a underground car park here. The place is very breezy in the evening and relatively well ventilated for an open air hawker centre. The place encourages a tray return culture. The self-payment kiosks all don’t work so just pay directly to the hawkers.
Famous stalls include the Fatty Fried Hokkien Noodles and the Char Siew stall.
Many variety of food, spacious, many stalls with long queue at lunch. Do come early for food.
Love this place, with many food choices
Place is clean, airy, spacious and have lots of seats available. However I think the reason is because the food there is so-so and quite expensive.
Hawker food is delicious, KTV is community priced, Gym is available and provides free trials, clinic for general practitioner, senior care...
It's rare to find a hawker centre that's so clean and dry 🤗
Food is so yummy too! 🤤
It’s a nice place to have your lunch, but how I wish Tables and seats at Muslim stalls area can be reserved for people who are having halal food, as seats are limited around halal stalls area and yet I often see people rushing to occupy the seats with tissues and water bottles and go buy food from Chinese stalls. Then people who are muslims don’t get place to seat for their meals. Please visit the CC to take a look at the ratio of stalls and tables available for Muslim friends. Thanks. I hope for an improvement on that. Be nice and considerate.
Wide variety of food, ample sitting space even during lunch time
A popular eating place with wide varieties of good food. Lor mee with generous ingredients, always long Q, is a norm. Satay mee hoon also just as popular. No worries in this rainy weather as there is a basement car park shelter diners right to one's favourite food.
Very cheap n good lor mee $3 as still july 2024
A nice place for a quick lunch. Great variety of food at reasonable prices
Excellent family-centric hawker centre for regular meals, including supper 7 days a week. Most of the unique cash payment machines (and also to receive change) have broken down, and have likely impacted the hawkers as they have to revert to handling the cash payments themselves. A few of the stalls remain unoccupied, especially the row furthest from the main entrance. Overall the quality of food remains good. Enjoy!
It's a bustling chain of hawkers for the local scene and if you're visiting, this place is a must try place as the hawkers work hard to serve you top quality food versus the price you pay for. It gets a little crowded during the weekends but if you are bringing family, you will notice that the place is generally well kept and tidy. Sit in the center area near the super large fans giving you ventilation or the general breeze near the sides of the food court. Pop over to the dessert stall to wash down your dinner and you're good to go. You're welcome.
Easy access and parking. Recommended for having lunch only as in the evenings, most stalls were closed. Food not fantastic but good enough for a quick meal for those non fussy eaters. For vegetarians do take note that there is only one vegetarian stall and only opens till noon n closed on Wednesday.
A good place for good food.
The hawker has at least one food that is priced $2.80. Some stalls has a decent food for $2.80 while some stalls $2.80 for sides.
I would recommend the Mee hoon kuey and add an egg! Lor Mee is also another one of my recommendation. For fried chicken, there is a stall that sells Korean fried chicken. These are my go-to when I'm there.
This used to be a great food centre... Extremely clean and well lit. Ample seating. I am especially impressed by the size of the stalls. Looks much roomier than the regular stalls. However, that did not really translate to better food. the food quality is rather meh. I have tried 90% of the stalls this past year and the only notable grub would be the double stall tze char that has decent quality. Rest of the place is mediocre at best. There seem to be some chain stalls like 友记 duck rice etc, but the quality is really subpar. There is also a famous oyster omelette stall that tests my faith in mainstream food reviews. I live 10mins from this place and I have tried the various stalls multiple times. Yep.... Absolutely nothing to write home about.
It's a big hawker centre.
One vegetarian stall available but it closes early. Usually by lunch time there isn't much dishes left and they are ready to close.
Kampong style all are nearby resident, all sorts of common food for resident and overall everything have at 2nd storey still got care center and third floor still got gym if I have not seen and office too
Still have lots ppl doing take away food is awesome for sure!!!
Wanted to highlight the 卤肉饭braised pork rice only selling at affordable price of $3.50+$0.20 take away box and portion was big enough to feed 1pax and it taste awesome the other two as usual best of the best !!!
Big enough hawker centre concerning located providing various type of local dishes. Generally most of the food found here are only of moderate quality. No problem with parking as there is a big basement car park.
Franky speaking it's one of the best community centres I have been to. There are activities for everyone.
Kids and adults can enrol for classes at the community centre office (located on level 1). Amazing quality food found at the hawker centre (level 1), it's a pretty darn clean hawker. Besides that there are other eateries - Subway, SOD cafe both of which can be found on level 1. Yoga studios are located at level 3 and 4. KTV branch is located at level 2. Level 4 houses an outdoor garden/park and an Anytime Fitness branch.
Whenever you are in the area do drop by to check it out ✌🏼
My goto for hawker food. Lor mee and sliced fish soup are my favourite
Pretty decent hawker centre in Hougang. Newly renovated, airy and windy. That said, the food quality is decent but nothing to shout about.
That said, it also houses the community centre, a clinic and a Karaoke studio, which helps to bring more utility to the place.
Visited for jade Korean fried chicken, it use to be call waker chicken.
It's manned by just one person when I visit, ordered half original and half soya.
As it's cook upon ordering, it took around 15 min at around 5pm.
It's juicy, tender and so finger licking good!
Very spacious hawker center. Looks newly renovated. Family-friendly - baby changing room is available and can push stroller without knocking anyone over. Wide variety of food available. I recommend the "Fatty's" fried hokkien mee!
Even thought this place is far from central (city area). There is few stalls you can try here is way much cheaper compare city area. They subway, in this bldg. If you want Starbucks coffee. Just walk out from this bldg. Head to Hougang 1 shopping mall where the Starbucks is. A few meters away.
There are many stalls and yummy food such as chicken rice, seafood white beehoon, hokkien noodles, char kuay tiao, fisball noodles, satay and dessert stalls too. Relatively cheap and good. We are spoilt for choice.
Great place with hawker, clinic, karaoke, gym and open spaces.
Nice food to consider:
1. Porridge and noodle stall
2. Tianjin China noodle
3. Leo Satay
4. Fatty Fried Hokkien noodle
5. Nasi lemak Taliwang
6. Teh tarik and prata
7. HK roast
The rest are not bad also but these few stores can revisit if you like it.
There’s a large range of food here, from tasty banmian to char siew rice to char kway teow. The banmian there is really good, and there’s always a long queue for it! In the CC, there’s also SOD cafe which sells inexpensive western food (smoked duck pasta etc) which is pretty yummy.
Clean and good food shops around but the only thing is that some of the shop close for dinner time.
We always enjoyed our breakfast, yio tiao there.
The only gripe are the VERY dirty toilet cubicles beside the hawker centre. While it is clean outside, the same offending cubicles seem to not have been washed of the hard and splattering human waste that I saw on 2 separate days.
Many stalls with variety of food, many sitting area and very spatial. It has a underground carpark so no worrys when it rain. There are quite a few nice stalls here, like lasi lamak, burgers and lor mee.
S$2.80 meal Deal is getting less
Not only has the prices gone up so much, the food quality has taken a tumble... every stall owners trying to maximise profit margin
Nasi Lemak Ayam Taliwang has to be one of the best BBQ chicken in town right now, they have a outlet in Hougang (Ci Yuan CC) & Yishun Park Hawker Centre... no bbq chicken is as awesome as theirs.. You've to try it to believe it :D
Very large food court. Clean and spacious. Many food variety. Especially the Hong Kong food stall (with 2 shop fronts). Must try the fried beef hor fun.
Lot of varieties of food. The place is well ventilated and many seats are available.
Fun facts: This is the place where the singapore drama, 128 Circle was filmed.
A Community club with other facilities. A spacious hawker center, 2 restaurants, Gym and activity rooms of community center.
This community club also has a good auditorium.
Remember to visit roof top play area.
Zichar is ok. The rest of the dishes we tried from the other stalls, mediocre at best. One particular store of note sells pig intestine pan fried with ginger and onion is the worst. Advertised as 粉肠 but used the bitter (and cheaper), small intestines instead. Small plate only a handful of pieces and costs $8. What a rip off!
A lot of good food
Good food, good prices. Have tried the hokkien mee, lor mee, hainanese curry rice, bak chor mee, char kway teow, prawn mee, and they are all good. Most stalls accept grab pay as well.
A very unique concept of having a foodcourt in a Community Club. The stores there serve above average local food. There are quite a few good stores there - Lor Mee, Prawn Noodle, Fried Carrot Cake (black and white). The vegetarian food store (formally from Lorong Lew Lian) is pretty good.
Convenient place with parking space available at basement. All food prices are quite reasonable. Plenty of free sitting table available during week days but weekend is packed.
place is clean and tidy but food so so
Many choice of food and especiallt hongkong kitchen zhichar is good. Try their Yangzhou fried rice. One setback is not many stalls are open after 9 pm. So going for supper you will have limited choice.
Portions shrunk but taste is fine
So MaNy gOod fOod.... kOrEaN wAkEr ChiCKeN.. HK Zhi ChAr... FattY HOkkiEn mEe... nOt 4GeTtiNg tHe LoR MEe...
For some reason, a lot of shops are closed when I visited. Left with a limited selection of food to choose from.
The food is no more cheap compared to the beginning.
Some of the stall's food is more expensive compared to other hawker centre.
To be fair, the embience and cleanliness has maintained.
Love the lor mee here. The signature one is an all rounder with the different ingredients. You can request the vinegar and spice to taste. I tried adding chicken cutlet to the signature, they go together well.
Also tried the hokkien prawn mee on the same row as the lor mee, my favourite part of it is the sambal. Note that it can be quite spicy but that's my preference. Fortunately they put it on the side so you can control the spice level.
It's a clean and well circulated place. Food items are many to choose both Chinese and Muslim. Food stalls look clean. Nice place to have a meal.
There are a handful of delicious food stalls there. Prices are mostly reasonable. 😀
Announced on 19 October 2013 during the groundbreaking ceremony, this community club is located at Hougang Avenue 9 beside Hougang Crimson to serve residents of Hougang Neighbourhoods 6 and 9, replacing the one at the void deck of Block 662 Hougang Avenue 4 which was permanently closed down. It features a Subway restaurant, SOD cafe, a hawker centre, a GYMMBOXX gym, Wr!ters@Work learning centre, Hougang Family Medicine Clinic and an NTUC Health senior day care centre. Previously, it featured an Anytime Fitness gym and Huawen Academy. It is served by bus services 72, 109, 112, 116, 159, Feeder 329, Premium 574 and Premium 742 while services 72, 112, 116 and 329 connect to nearby Hougang MRT station. This community club was officially opened more than seven years ago on the morning of Sunday, 20 September 2015 by the Prime Minister of Singapore, Mr Lee Hsien Loong.
A number of food stalls were closed for dinner. Probably for lunch crowd. Good quality food nonetheless.
Needs improvements on the hawker. Food hasn't really changed, but overall not bad.
Singapore's first model of the new community club whhch combines social services such as wet market, food centre, grass root services n governmental services such as CPF, HDB and other community related agencies together under one roof for better coordination n efficiency. Food are generally ok at reasonable prices thou of limited choices (about 50 stalls). Recommended.
Quite alot of hidden gems like
Western food
Char kway tiao
Loh mee
Bak ku teh
Curry rice
Come here often for the chi char and also the mee hoon kway.
spacious.... airy... lots of choices
Always enjoy the clean and breezy dinning environment. Repeated visits to the Lor Mee and one other noodle stall on the immediate right upon entrance!
Food was alright, all stalls are equipped with automatic payment machines though. This is a plus point as the hawkers do not have to handle the cash directly for hygiene reasons.
The Lor mee, Hokkien mee were good. The western food hawker was annoying rude, possibly because I only ordered fries. If I’d order for myself I’d for sure walk away.
Good selection of stalls and well ventilated and lit food centre. The cordoned off seats make the centre less crowded and stuffy I guess.
Plenty of affordable hawker food. Lots of variety. Try the western food and tai chow.
Many nice outlets, lor mee, Fried Hokkien prawn mee, chu chang fen, etc
Airy and clean with decent food, can be crowded at times but seats will still be available at the corners. Do support our local hawkers!
The must try stalls in the morning are definitely the vegetarian stall and the nasi lemak stall.
At night, it would be the hokkien mee stall
Another stall worth mentioning is the lor mee stall, available all day long!
Convenient spot for quick meal; good air flow so it's not hot and stuffy; lots of good food choices.
Great Foodcourt on the ground floor. Plenty of parking in the basement and in the surrounding HDB blocks
Alot of nice food. Must try the ice kacang, red bean super big size, normally i add 0.50 cents for extra red bean.😋
Decent spot fr food.
Has a large variety of food, most being very delicous. That said waiting time is long both for a seat and food
Large variety of food at reasonable
Prices. Ample seating space
A combination of CC, food, learning program under 1 roof. Food are many choice and with affordable price
Nice and delicious food enjoyment at the hawker center.
A lot of food choices here, but the portion is really small, most time I have to order two dishes.
There are many cheap stalls and the overall management is good.
There are so many different foods! Parking is also convenient..
It is very convenient, there is an ATM, and there is a snack center if you are hungry. You can also rest there
Have breakfast
