Reviews of Geylang (Hamid's) Briyani Stall
This Briyani was absolutely delicious! The rice was fragrant with great texture, the sauce delectable, the chicken was a bit dry but the rest made up for it. I would come back here to eat just the rice and sauce many times.
Ordered Chicken and Mutton Briyani and the Mutton Briyani is awesome.
Not sure if the rice is too little or the Mutton is just too good that I gobbled every grain of rice. 😂
Try to go early as it sells out fast and mutton sells out even faster. Was in queue at around 1pm and manage to snatch the last few plates of mutton.
Prepare to queue during lunch hours but they are quite fast in serving.
had the mutton biryani, taste is good. however for the price, maybe can give abit more rice....
queue moves fast.
After sampling so many biryanis all over Singapore, our hunt was worthwhile after trying the chicken biryani at this stall. The rice (big grains) is fragrant and the chicken seems to have soaked up all the gravy. They do give some sweet pickle kinda thing, which we didn't like much because it's very sweet; however the curry that they give along with biryani is so flavourful.......... slightly tangy but when mixed with rice it makes amazing combo.......I wish they would give more of that :D Also at price of 6 SGD, it is a steal............most of the times even restaurants here lack typical biryani taste. All in all, would definitely try this biryani again.
The rice is fluffy, the fried chicken is crispy and flavourful but the biryani's taste a bit too sweet for me though they serve a bowl of savoury curry (more like a sweet and sour biryani).
It is not bad and above the average but I still prefer the savoury biryani.
Saw a post on this Briyani stall and gave it a try. Due to Covid measures, they only sell in packets now, and the curry sauce in a plastic bag. Still managed to have it at the hawker centre by keeping the curry sauce plastic bag upright somehow.
Tried their mutton. The meat tender and takes no effort to tear. The rice comes with a little bit of thick tasty gravy with raisins. That’s a small surprise. The rice itself, however, is quite a disappointment. Not fluffy and parts of it comes in clumps.
Overall satisfactory for a quick lunch.
The bryani of dis stall is superb once eaten you will crave again n again for me every weekend we must have it..tnx mr hamid
One of the best mutton biryani in Singapore. The rice has a nice spicy aroma and is not oily. The mutton is very soft, and the meat is tasty and juicy. And the chicken is very nice too.All my guest enjoy the door so much .Thank you so much Hanan for ur excellent and fast services.Highly recommend to people out there.👍👍👍😄
the best briyani place ever. been eating for years n very generous
My always go to briyani! The best! ❤️
The mutton bryani was quite good. Strong peppery taste. Tastier than some I've tried.
But the piece of meat was a little too small. Perhaps give a bigger, meatier piece at a slightly higher price.
The briyani has a balanced taste and right amount of spices and herbs infused into the basmati rice. Chicken meat is chunky and flavourful. The mutton is aromatic and doesn't have that 'goat' smell. Overall, excellent food and customer service.
Had lunch eith colleagues. Ordered Mutton Briyani snd it was nice. The basmati rice was fluffy and thd mutton was tender well cooked with the Briyani paste. It cone with a bowl of Dalca snd Acar. No regret buying there. Its been quite done time since I last est at this stall. Nothing chsnge. Same taste same GOOD FOOD. Well done .
Have been eating here for about over 20 years since the time of the old Geylang Market.
Briyani is always good and the best.
Do note this is not the typical Indian briyani.
Nevertheless I won’t turn down the opportunity to eat it when I can!!
Recommended!
Had mutton briyani ($7) for lunch on 30/5/23, was good. Love the chutney too.
Flavorful mutton briyani...what better way to start off a lazy Sunday👌
Excellent mutton briyani. Tender and flavourful. Rice was fluffy and fragrant. Friendly stall assistants and fast service.
One of the best Biryani in Singapore... now is costed S$6 for each mutton or Chicken Biryani... reason I am giving 4/5 stars because the mutton is really small now...
Honestly the best briyani in Singapore. I've ate it from young and the delicious taste is still the same then till now.
Good dal and fragrant rice. The mutton was pretty good too. Not too oily, which was great.
Briyani was really good! They gave a lot of rice too! Price is still affordable and not too bad as well!
Rich in spice, Briyani rice is soft and mutton very tender and not smelly.
Probably the best mutton Biryani I’ve had and their special chutney is amazing.
Syiok. See the queue, you know already. 😋
Best Bryani in Geylang Serai market! $6 chicken/mutton. Good enough for 2!
Best briyani ever but must come.early and willing to queue.
