My favourite carrot cake in all of Singapore and possibly the world. Best I have tasted and while they are more famous for the oyster omelettes and black carrot cake, I am more fond of the white carrot cake. The cakes are thinly sliced, fried with generous portions of egg and a pleasant portion of well cooked chye poh which really elevates the taste of the dish. Perhaps quite uniquely, the white carrot cake served even includes shrimps for a different texture. The aroma of the egg is wonderful, with great wok hey and for an egg lover like me, the dish is best served without chilli. Heng Carrot Cake has Michelin Bib Gourmands and deservedly so. It's my must-have at Newton Food Centre, to the point that I don't visit Newton on Tuesdays because I know they are closed. Highly recommended!

Honestly, was very impressed with the carrot cake sold at this stall. Initially didn’t think too much as fried carrot cake was quite a common fare among hawker centres in Singapore. Their carrot cake is really homemade as we could taste the difference, very fragrant and savory, unlike other stall who simply buy their carrot cake from supplier. I had the black version and it was tasty though it’s didn’t look spectacular. Prices as expected of all newton stalls, on the higher side but its bib gourmand status did justify that. Their oysters omelette was equally good with a generous serving of big and succulent oysters. Fresh as well which made the entire dish delectable.

Ordered black carrot cake but ended up getting a white one. Did not change back because it might take 20 mins more for the wait. Carrot cakes was made fresh, the boss is extremely busy. Taste wise i think it is okay. Maybe next time we shall order oyster omelette as everyone else recommended it

Their oyster egg was fresh and extremely tasty, not too oily but with the right mix of flavours. The carrot cake was also fragrant and flavourful, with a aromatic blend of sweet and salty. Although the queue is a bit long, its definitely worth it.

Ordered fried oyster omelette. $8. Have abt 6 pieces of oysters. Have to wait 20mins when I arrived at 1030pm on Friday.

Delicious Freshly crisp oyster omelette. Only complaint is the odd oyster on the plate a bit smelly. Waiting time can be 5 minutes up to 30 minutes depending on the time u go. Carrot cake not bad too but not the best.

Still the best tasting fried carrot cake. They don’t use lard so that’s a big plus. Best time to go ...about 6pm ...before the crowd.

Bought Carrot Cake $6 portion (with prawns). . Since 1971, with over 50 years experience making their own carrot cake. . The carrot cake is moist and delicious. Their carrot cake (radish kueh) is soft and piping hot with generous amount of eggs and chye poh. Pls expect to wait at least 20-30 mins for your order to be served esp on weekends.

This is a famous shop for Singapore's local food, carrot cake. Carrot cake is radish mochi fried in sweet soy sauce. It doesn't contain carrots. It was very delicious.

A popular Bib Gourmand-rated carrot cake and oyster omelet restaurant located in Hawker at Newton Interchange. 5 minutes walk from the station. By the way, please note that it is not open during the day (weekdays?) and only opens from 5pm. Almost 90% of other shops are closed during the day. Does carrot cake originate from China, which is not a carrot cake but stir-fried radish with eggs? stir-fried dishes. Carrot cakes come in white and black (?). Another popular dish is the oyster omelet. The store next door is Alliance Seafood, which has also been selected by Bib Gourmand.

White radish cake + black radish cake $4＋$4 The first bite of the white radish cake tastes like Taiwanese fried radish cake, but the skin is not so crispy, and the radish taste is not so obvious in the next few bites. The black radish cake is sweeter, probably because of the fried sugar, and then it is eaten with hot sauce! I think there is nothing special about the radish cake. Or should I order the oyster omelette?
