Reviews of Lian Yi BBQ Seafood 聯誼燒烤海鮮
The only thing which I could remember about this place was the chilli in the bbq sotong. It was pretty spicy to me however it was so good. The sotong wasnt overcooked and it had a grill taste to it. Besides that, the stingray was alright. The chilli tasted pretty normal, in fact I would rate it average and the sambal kangkong still had that raw kangkong taste in it
Rural Hawker Center, the stall is famous if you do go around the hawker, most of the table has their Stingray and Octopuses.
The stingray is big, fresh and meaty compare to most places in Singapore. The sauce is tasty and in generous amount. A must try if you love spicy food.
Price is very reasonable, that could be the reason it's popular. Will return when graving for fish the next time.
Not forgetting the well mannered young stall owner.
Well, the hawker looks dirty and old, which made the visitor uncomfortable. However, that's probably why the price is reasonable.
The food here quite average, esp the sambal stingray. Sotong is cooked using a different sambal from stingray pretty good. Paid $32 for 3 dishes, value for money since the portions were huge. Biggest problem was the disorganized order management and the uncle taking my order was very rude, it felt as though I was constantly shouted at.
Don't mind the chilli on the sting ray (or lack thereof). I asked for less chilli.
Sting ray was fresh and juicy. What more can I ask for? Good job!
10/10 everything no debate, coming from a port town of seafood, this place, especially steamed crab, is the first one I acknowledge after 2y in Singapore
Hidden gem known to the local crowd. I used to stay in Boon Lay area 30 years ago and it has been my go to place for bbq seafood. Nothing beats it after trying so many other “famous” stalls!
It has different chili recipe complementing the different seafood and they are all fantastic! I typically go for the stingray, prawn and sotong.
The seafood is fresh, portion is generous yet the price is very economical relative to other bbq seafood places.
Definitely a gem in boon lay. spicy sambal stingray and sotong (squid) paired with a bowl of white rice. Damn shiok.
Very big prawns for bbq. Fish is all very very fresh. Sometimes rice can be a bit hard, but it's a great meal still.
Sambal kang kong + bbq prawn + bbq stingray and 2 rice came out to be a total of $48.
Sambal Sotong is excellent! It’s hard to find perfectly cook squid 🦑 that’s soft and the right chewiness!!! The chilli and smoke from the cooking complements the dish brilliantly.
I been to this outlet numerous times over the years and it has also been consistent. Great sambal stingray too.
An order of small stingray cost $12. Portion was large and came slathered with their sambal.
On first bite, it is slightly overcooked and tasted tough. Sambal went well with dish.
I had high expectations of this stall based on the reviews but was slightly let down.
For the price, it does represent good value. That's provided you are within the area and craving for sambal stingray... IMO.
Definitely one of the best BBQ seafood and sting-rays in Singapore. Very fresh and succulent flesh with a nice spread of Sambal !!!
Food : very good BBQ stingray. Agree that it's one of the the best I had. And they are fast for BBQ.
Price: 12 each
Seafood was fresh and yummy
Didn't know you could find good BBQ Seafood in the heartlands
Must try the BBQ Sotong!
