Reviews of Qing Yuan Fish Soup 慶源鱼汤
The Ngoh Xiang was very good, probably the best that I have tried. Ironically, the Batang Fish Soup was disappointing. The soup was pretty good but the fish slices were coated with so much corn starch that they had this very slimy texture. The amount of fish was also quite meagre at $8.
Very tasty and fresh Batang fish soup. You may add prawns and fish roe/ milt. Reasonable price for the quality.
After we discovered their pomfret set with ngoh hiang, we have eaten that so many times. So yummy. Yesterday, decided to try something different -- seafood soup with ngoh hiang added. Love the size of the 2 big prawns. The fish slices were fresh and tasty too. A few little clams as part of the seafood were average. But I'd so eat it again because of the prawns. Next round will go for the Blue Atlantic Cod fish soup. That is the 'killer' dish at $18/$20. Can't wait to try.
Yet another good hawker stall that deserved a 5 stars
5 stars is not for restaurants.
Firstly this is a one man show business from taking order, cooking to serving. That no resturant can do. Service is 5 stars
Food is fresh being fish soup, that is the fundamental, clear and balanced flavour. Food is 5 star
Price is over value for the quality, added a 50 cents bittergourd.
Prices a $6.50.
Nested in famous tiong barhu market.that the atmosphere is hawker so 5 stars.
Super yummy fish soup. One of the best. Taste natural no MSG.
Tasty soup and perfectly done chunky batang slices. Ngoh hiang and the special chilli sauce were nice too. Blue cod was tastier but texture too soft for fish soup, garoupa option would be better.
Blue cod with ngoh hiong and Pomfret. Perfect brunch on a raining day.
Came in the afternoon on a Sunday and almost everything is sold out. Tried the cod fish soup at $12. Really rare to see cod used in soup. Meat was fresh and really tender. Falls off the chopstick. But it's a waste to use it in soup if you ask me. Perhaps they can offer to pan fry or steam it with soy sauce and go with a soup. Soup was flavourful wo being too salty.
tasty soup, no MSG, no fishy taste at all! We tried the blue cod fish soup and batang fish soup. Fresh and firm fish slices..we enjoyed the food a lot. I finished the soup till the last drop.
Like sliced fish soup - very fresh fish and 五香yummy. Just that $ a bit on the high side. Otherwise I can eat a few times a week.
This fish soup had me hooked on the 1st sip. Like an awakening wave of umami shaking all my sensory taste buds. The fish soup has a deep and full body flavor; the blue cod slice fish is bouncy at the moment teeth touches then bit through delicately; such sweetness texture is unforgetable. SHIOK !!
Superb soup! Just had 1st Teochew fish soup which used to be my favourite but the standard has dropped (I had it at the Breadtalk IHQ) so much after Breadtalk bought it. This is a vastly superior fish soup.
Best fish soup in Tiong Bahru. Tasty and well balanced. Fish was very fresh. Ngoh Hiang was crispy and delicious. Worth queuing for it.
Very clean tasting soup. There was no fishiness for the blue cod which I ordered. The ngoh hiang was tasty and goes very well with the chilli served.
Definitely will come back again!
I had it with my partner, Love the cod fish soup; goh hiong, deep fried pomfret are good! No regret to give it a try. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😊
Incredibly fresh fish slices at a fair price. Be prepared to wait.
Our fave fish soup in Singapore. super fresh and lovingly homemade!!!!!
It’s now my must da bao food home for my mum from Tiong Bahru market! No picture cos never had the chance! My mum is faster than my camera.
Delicious fish soup.
Ahhh, I wish we had met earlier!! Every time I think about what to eat
I have no appetite no matter how much I think about it!
Finally, I met you today! Very appetizing, very smooth fish soup, no MSG, mouth will not be dry after eating...full marks💯
