Reviews of Xin Mei Xiang Lor Mee (Old Airport Road Lor Mee) - Tampines
Good bowl of lor mee! Their braised meat is tender while fried fish tasted fresh and firm without any fishy smell. Broth isn’t as good as the one at Old airport road but it’s still a satisfying meal for the family. Chicken cutlet is a good addition for the kids who doesn’t enjoy pork meat.
Airy coffee shop where this is located. Different from the usual lor mee which comes with fried fish, this comes with flaked fish instead. The braised meat was also Different from the traditional lor meat which tender to resemble more of diced pork instead. It taste flavorful though and the portion is big! The side snacks are good for kids esp the chicken cutlet.
Haven't tried the main branch yet but this is one of the stalls that specialist in Lor Mee so won't be that bad. Overall pretty delicious. Suggest trying the $7 and add the prawn roll at $1.50. For the $5 ones you won't see much of ingredients inside and will feel abit disappointed. Overall abit pricey probably due to the Michelin 'status' therefore give it a 4 out of 5.
Price of Lor Mee and add on reasonable for coffee shop: $5 or $7. Gravy & noodle: Yup still good. But still cannot compare to the big generous portion at old airport road. People give lousy star might be due to hard to find parking > long queue > small portion > lousy workflow(staff not well-prepared)
We have been on the lookout for a bowl of satisfying Lorh Mee for awhile before we found this hidden gem 💎…
Old Airport Road Xin Mei Xiang Zheng Zong Lorh Mee, hidden at one corner in Coffee Shop located Tampines Street 41. They comes in 2 size $5/$7 with the flexibility to adjust the amount of garlic and vinegar.
The gravy is thick and doesn’t turn watery even until our very last mouth. I would say a it comes with a generous amount of fish flakes, braised pork, braised egg, beansprouts, parleys and a spoonful of homemade chilli. You can also top up for the particular sides you are fancy with.
This famous lor mee from old airport road market opened at Tampines some two weeks ago. There was no queue and so we had it. My friend opted for the normal bowl at $5 while I took the large one at $7. It’s a tad expensive for coffeeshop fare.
I normally like thick bee hoon, but sadly they don’t offer it.
There’s a lot of fried fish and pork belly, so fortunately the coriander and bean sprouts helped balance the taste to prevent any cloying feeling.
Would I have it again? Yes, I won’t mind, but only if there’s no queue.
Having my quick fix for lunch, maybe I went there early. No Q, service was fast. Surprisingly the taste was good, sauce was thick. The price was not that expensive although is consider on the high side for Lor Mee. I have add on for some fish meat for $2 but honestly I don’t see any much difference between with or without additional fish meat.
Lor Mee has been one of my family’s favourites!
-1 star because on our most recent visit, ingredients given was lesser and the gravy didn’t taste as rich/ gao. So a bit of inconsistency on their part but for most of our visits it’s really good!
Finally, I tried. No queue and pretty fast that afternoon. Decent Lor Mee with some side dishes that I can choose to add. I added fried popcorn chicken.
Take away the lor mee. Taste good even though I reached home. Unfortunately I intended to try their braised pork rice but sold out
Happened to passed by and saw this shop tucked in a corner . Tried the $5 bowl and the result is not as close to the old airport that i have tried . Ingredient given not as generous , still there is room for improvement ! I am giving a 3.5 rating . Anyway will come to try again in the near future and hope they can improve...
Kinda disappointed with the amount of ingredients given for a bowl of 7$ 🍜. Taste wise, it's felt kinda average. I still prefer the original branch.
3rd time having Lor mee here
Great to find Old Airport Road’s Xin Mei Xiang Lor Mee opened at 406 Tampines Street 41. Been their fan since Old Airport days

Their double fish (black & white) suit me the best; coz i don’t dare to eat pork belly; the Noodles are done well; the staff are properly trained

@nic
Lor Mee taste delicious!
I am not a lor mee fans and yet find it nice, worth to give it a try, you might like it!
Not flexible and unfriendly.
When requested to separate the fried fish in a plastic bag, the owner simply said cannot. By the time I got home with the food, the fish was already squashy and soggy.
Food is acceptable, I have had much better ones.
Ordered a $7 and take away. Shiok. Love the gravy!
Price goes northwards and portion of serving goes southwards, service staff being the young guns have years to go before they learn how service can make the diff between customers returning regularly or one off.....
Excellent! One of the best I've ever tasted. Try the signature lor mee. Costs $6 but worth every cent.
Nothing to shout about.
Sengkang Hawker Centre Lor Mee is much better.
