Reviews of Beaulieu House (Sembawang Seafood Paradise)
I liked the online reservation. It’s easy and prompt. Even when I modify the times it is also simple. No need to contact the restaurant.
The premise is well maintained.
The owner also attentive.
The only pick was the QR ordering not so friendly but the staff can help you out which is very nice.
The service was great, not much waiting time
7 of us who first time visiting very pleased with our experience.🤗😋
This restaurant serves one of the best Hainanese Pork Chops I've had so far. Even though the location is far for most people it's worth coming back just for the pork chop alone. Other noteworthy dishes include the steamed halibut (Chinese style) and cold dish (for the prawn roll). Will definitely come back again.
Dropoff point is a carpark, can't see Beaulieu House from there, walk in around 70-80m.
Basically a quiet spot on a weekday night, making reservations online, quick confirmation, added a special request, small little surprise cake and was confirmed on WhatsApp!
The food is delicious, Rendang Lamb, De-shell prawn, sambal sotong(spicy)!
Rustic, homely environment. All dishes ordered are very presentable and tasty. A true gem. 💎
Will be back!!
The food was surprisingly standout, especially the lamb shank rendang. Other dishes ordered such as the homemade tofu, the marmite chicken and egg fried rice were done well too. Lovely old school atmosphere — a bungalow by the sea
Great lunch here today as part of a HAL tour.
I'm not sure of what everything was but it was all very good.
It's really hot so we started with a cold beer.
Recommend you come here if you can.
Celebrated our Mother’s Day here.
We make an advanced booking during this special day.
The restaurant is in the heart of Sembawang park, ppls who stay near by should know the restaurant but due to location not near to town so this many be their weakness point to attract crowd.
Restaurant very vintage , n colony style, it’s quite spacious & quiet, there have aircon n open area.
Very good for taking nice picture
We ordered quite some foods , portion was just nice but all taste was good, reasonable price and aft food can just slow walk around the park. definitely will come back again
$43 for prawn paste middle wings, romaine lettuce with fermented beancurd, 2 rice, and butterfly pea lemon tea
The pork cutlet is expertly prepared, boasting tenderness on the inside and a delightful crispiness on the outside, complemented by a flavorful sauce. However, it's worth noting that the prices lean towards the higher side; my meal, along with a drink, totaled $30. Nevertheless, the restaurant's charming ambiance, infused with a touch of history, makes it a great choice for special occasions or an occasional treat. With both indoor air-conditioned seating and non-ACed options available, and the beach just a stone's throw away, it caters to various preferences. Moreover, their diverse menu spans Chinese, Western, and local cuisines. For those looking for a budget-friendly option, they offer a more affordable brunch set before 12pm on weekends.
Great place for dining with family members. I was there for lunch during the weekday, and my overall experience was pleasant. Service is prompt, and the taste of the food is delicious. Recommend.
Nice ambiance for lunch. Bright and chill. Ordered the Hainanese pork chop as it is not usually available. Taste is quite good. They serve a mixture of western and Chinese Tze Char. Might visit again to try their Chinese food.
One of the option for my wedding event that offers a good and wonderful environment the tis quiet and near to sea side with a clean white beach.
This restaurant offers a mixed of both Chinese and Western style menu to fit their patrons with options of acholohic beverages.
Recommended for family gathering or get together during weekends.
Excellent food in an old mansion located in a park overlooking the ocean. Very elegant with some interesting antiques.
Recommend
An absolute gem of a place. Highly recommended for the atmosphere and the service. The spread is remarkable for its diversity, and I am always amazed at how quick the service is. I'm also puzzled at the relatively low crowd level, but that's part of the charm.
A comfy, and relaxing atmosphere. It was my and my friends first time here. Service was quite fast. Food was yummy, a nice selection of western and Chinese. Though it'll be better if there were more western selections. I love the lava cake dessert.
My 2nd time here. Prefer to sit at non-aircon area as more quiet and nicer view. The aircon area was very noisy due to the low ceiling, aircon sounds loud plus people chit chating echo are very loud also (I feel like I am having a meal at construction site). Serve the food fast and taste good. Customer service can be improved.
Good food and service. Located deep inside sembawang park.
Opted for their western menu for dinner. The choice is not as much as its chinese menu, the dew dishes we order is enough to impress us. The lamb shank was nicely done, very tender and its mint sauce give this refeshing feel that u wan to hav more of it.
A unique restaurant adapted from a former private house, it serves good food with great view over the Straits of Johor. The home-made green toufu with mushroom is interesting, the beef hor fun is probably one of the few in Singapore done with very skilful “wok hei”. Service is very good, even when we asked to customise mutton claypot it can be done. Truly enjoyed a lazy afternoon lunch with family there. Highly recommended.
A little nostalgic gem inside Sembawang park. The food really gives me those home cook food feeling (家乡味). They even have the old type of phone as well as trishaw that you can take photograph with. Ambience is good and you can view the sea through the trees in the air con dining place. Parking is free in the park and about 200m away from the restaurant. Need to bring umbrella though during rainy season.
Verdict: great place to have family dinner and will go there again.
Fantastic ambience. Very nostalgic. Food is great too, home cooked feel, not too oily or salty.
Family friendly. There is a indoor air conditioned seating area.
Especially liked the marmite chicken, yu mee. Aubergine, Chives and tofu were nice too. Service is pretty fast.
Blast from the past - nostalgic place with heritage architecture and historical artefacts. The food pays homage to Singapore’s past and present.
Great restaurant overseeing the North Sea of Singapore. You can see Johore Bahru, Malaysia from the restaurant while enjoying good and fresh food from the kitchen.
A beautiful scenery to capture some moments. Peaceful and a quiet place for a family or couple time. Food is not superb but is fine. Can't comment much on food.
the simplest cooking method are usually the hardest to master it. steam crab, it's delicious and not overpowering, although a touch of ginger would make it better!
Good atmosphere on a Sunday morning—Friendly and good attitude staff, I just came in grab a coffee, wanted to do take away cup but I saw them using a polystyrene cup, I quickly change to dine in. Just a suggestion, mostly people prefer paper cup and it’s more user friendly and nontoxic (you can print your own logo for marketing purposes) —coffee wise (3/10) cappuccino it should’ve more foam 😢and guess the milk is more than the coffee shot. Could improve more 👍🏻 will come back for dinner dish with fam next round.
Fast and prompt service. The food is good. Not spectacular. Found the pricing a tad expensive for this no frills dinning. The park where the House is situated is nice. Good for a stroll after a meal.
Great place and ambience. Location is not the most accessible but worth the trip. Sembawang park has a very rustic and relaxing vibe and great for family. Food here at the Beaulieu House is good but can be pricey.
Staying in the area for last 36 years, yet have not stepped into the famous Beaulieu House before. Tonight I found my long lost Chinese food paradise.
Two of us ordered 4 dishes (see photo of receipt) and everything was exactly how it was like when I was young . (68 now)
The cod fish HK style ($30) was absolutely divine and fresh. Sweet and sour pork ($15) was the best - succulent inside and crispy outside. We left 100% satiated.
Table service really put Michelin starred restaurants to shame. Tea was regularly topped up and served without having to ask. New plates too.
We were lucky too. It rained all day and we were the the only two dinners for more than 2 hours. The affable boss Mr Lim revealed that it was full house most weekends.
Yes. We were fortunate and will be back .
Set in a charming colonial style house, the wide choices in the menu left me initially worried, however we ordered the laksa spaghetti, the fish head curry, pork knuckle and fried rice, which were excellent choices. service was fast and prompt, overall a great place for dinner
Food was okay, decent zichar standard with a view. Price is reasonable.
Very laidback place. Friendly staff. Decent food with good variety.
Good food, beautiful interior and prompt service.
Excellent food, ambiance and service. Recommend the grouper
Really nice setting. Old black and white converted to restaurant. Nice place. Regular Chinese restaurant food. Ok service.
Very good and very reasonably priced. Family friendly and the staff are friendly and helpful
It is the only one restaurant in Sembawang beach park. Curry fishhead and crab is delicious.
Beaulieu House is a unique restaurant which was converted from a colonial era bungalow besides the sea and a huge park. I have visited the restaurant many times with my family and friends and always enjoyed the food and the ambience. They served Asian and Western food. We normally take the Asian menu. They will always give you value for your money. That is why we regularly visit this place, besides having friendly staff and also good service.
Very often when we visited the restaurant, we could see that the restaurant is crowded with British tourists on tours. They could be war veterans visiting Sembawang Naval Base and taking their lunch at Beaulieu House. I could also see locals enjoying their meals at Beaulieu House after enjoying the beauty of Sembawang Park. I was also very pleasantly surprised that many Singapore celebrities, ministers and even our former President had patronised the restaurant through the years.
All the dishes are delicious! The pork rib is on the salty side, I hope the chef doesn't marinate too long or put it in too many salts. The satay is good!
Ambient is retro.
Should try!
Selection of Chinese food is good and tasty. Western food menu is available, it is ok but nothing fancy. Service is attentive, environment is nice as it is facing the beach. If I remember correctly, it was nonya food before, but never try and this is my first visit. Slightly disappointed as I would like to try their nonya menu, but probably it is not popular, so the menu is different. Would recommend to try their menu if you like Chinese food, the location and environment is excellent and the staff is friendly and attentive
Good and fresd food, nice service, great ambience.
Great ambience...value for money food. Servers are great
Excellent foods here. Boss super friendly. We got upgrade in our seafood dish. Fish mow soup packed with good yummy content. The spinach bean curd 豆腐· best, 一绝 . 虾球也棒。 Best of All, these 3 Queens had a jolly great time with plenty of laughter. Even the Service Staff also enough the presence of this 4 搞笑行动' :-)
Nostalgia... Good place to relax and have a nice meal.
I have been to this place since 20 years ago; and the restaurant has changed hands several times over the years. The latest of which serves up both Chinese menu as well as Western menu in the same set up. They have revamped the place into a Peranakan-looking place bringing back some old flavors from the past.
The restaurant's ambiance is old but beautiful, overlooking the Sembawang beach (erm with oils tankers in the background). I wouldn't say that the food is raving madness; but it is "doable" for a set lunch menu priced at around $30ish. Comes with a starter, main and a drink.
Great place to catch up with friends because it's not a noisy place to begin with. But could be a little far out to travel for most folks.
The seafood kway teow, curry fish head, pork belly were delicious. Curry fish head spiciness was just nice, kway teow wok hey was there, pork belly sauce were surprising a bit sweeter.
It was nice to stumble here on a rainy evening. Place was quite empty, and got a nice corner seat and fast service! Food was simple, affordable, and tasty - had Satay, White Bee Hoon, and Tofu. Surrounded by green and quiet Sembawang Park
Food tastes good, especially the black bean paste hor fun. Price is slightly on the high side. Toilet is super clean!
Nice surroundings in the park and food are yummy. Tried the curry fish which is thick and frangant. The western food that consist of roasted pork ribs is tender enough to tear away from the bone.
Have been here a few times, enjoyed the food every time. The staff has always been friendly and provided good service too.
I was here in 2020, and I still remember how amazing the food was. By far the best clams I've ever had. Nothing back here in Canada has topped the way this restaurant makes them.
Good variety of food in a nice and clean restaurant that's colonial style. Suitable for a quiet date or family day out.
Best place to hangout at northen SG
A great place for gathering of friends and family. Very family-oriented setting and rustic surroundings. Food is good too.
One of the best places for Chinese cuisine... Great ambience and very satisfied with the services, will definitely go back again.
Nice ambience and good beef hor fun, and garlic beef cubes. Cereal soft shell crab is great too. Friendly staff and service, nice view of the beach. Lovely place
Lovely place for a sunday afternoon snack... yummy mango pudding!
I have a lot of love for this place! Great food and their E-Mian is crazy gooooooooooood!!!!!
Great ambience though price is on the higher side but value for money
Friendly servers. Great atmosphere. Good food but a bit pricey. Highly recommend visiting during sunset.
We enjoy happy gathering dinner with nice environment, good services
Highly recommended 🥰
Awesome ambience delicious food. What more could we asked for? Really a great place to spend your evening.
Cozy atmosphere, food is okay a bit expensive considering its serving size.
Most dishes are great. Old school Chinese home cook style. Horfun has great wok chi!
Unique location with its own history. Food is decent though a bit pricey
Love the excellent food and ambience. Every dish was superb. Going back again.
Good lava cake. Service was okay
Good quality food. But abit pricey. The stay is good!
My 2nd visit, food not bad but got place for improvement...
Simple restaurant with great food, by the sea
The food is of good quality, the ingredients are fresh, the chef is skilled, the saltiness is moderate, and the dining environment is first-class.
This is the current situation in the restaurant
Not bad, very comfortable environment, food is light but delicious!
The sea breeze brings you coolness, you can enjoy the coolness in the park pavilion, and the barbecue smells good.
Heritage at its finest. Very interesting historical place.
