Very warm staff service and nice homely ambience. Food was well prepared and delicious. Highly recommend their homemade beef burger and pastas. Definitely worth a try!

Simple unassuming place. Quite a nice surprised find actually. The food is good and service is pleasant. I like that they aren't afraid to make recommendations. The chef used to work in a hotel. Price is higher than what you might immediately expect from a quieter neighbourhood, but still value for money. And they have really nice Belgian Waffles with NZ ice-cream!

1st time there. Their grilled pork chops (bestseller) was really tender and especially flavourful (eat with their mustard). The portobello was nicely breaded and fried under their Portobello with grilled chicken. Good deal to add soup with drink for extra 5.90. Place coikd do with some background music to liven up thd restaurant. Will be back tk try others in menu.

Location is right beside of n&b and nearby Arnold's. Area was quiet and staff were friendly and welcoming. Staff were very friendly with the kids as well and I would label this as a casual family dining spot. Ordering was an ease and they also have special menus on their blackboard. We tried the squid ink pasta and the burger. I would say the food is between average to above average. The soup was also not bad. We tried both the mushroom and the tomato soup. One point I feel they can improve on is they don't have a washing basin to wash hands. Alternative of hand sanitizer can be provided. For a food establishment for eating in, I feel customer hygiene is important and I was surprised that at this price point, we would have to go elsewhere to wash our hands before eating. I would come back here again some day, due to the quiet atmosphere and friendly staff.

Good area with ample parking around. Small restaurant with a very quiet atmosphere. Good place to have a good meal with friends or family and chill as well. Sometimes, they also have special dishes as well. This time, I ordered Angus Ribeye Steak - Medium cooked. I also ask for a set meal that comes with mushroom soup and a drink. The mushroom soup was very flavourful, and the steak was also cooked to my liking. Service was fast as well. The only thing is that the restaurant does not accept credit cards or paywave. So please take note to have cash, paynow ready.

Just bought oysters for takeaway, and I'm impressed how well packed they are. Even more impressive are the plump and fresh oysters! They are really juicy and super tasty!

Portobello with Grilled Chicken with Arugula in Red Wine Jus. Call me a mountain tortoise. But I have never taste something like this before. And it is 👍. Price is slightly on the higher end, but the food is nice and their service is good.

Cosy little neighborhood restaurant with GOOD food. Their MUST-TRYS in my opinion: - grilled pork chop - seafood linguine in fresh tomato herb sauce (ask for chilli padi for an extra kick!) - tomato basil soup Look out for their seasonal menu too! (There's a Portobello dish available now that my mom is super fond of.) Thank you Chef's Hat for bringing restaurant-quality yet affordable food to the neighborhood! 👍👍👍👍

The environment is pleasant and staffs are friendly but the food consider average. Had beef burger for dinner, it was not bad but it is abit too dry. Need to add extra chilli sauce. Also the prices seems a little pricey for the small portion.

Love their chicken chop, salsa fish and pork chop. In term of taste and texture. Presentation is also nice. My go-to place for western food. We must always remember, while dining in restaurant, price should not be compared with western food in hawker, coffee shop and food court.

Spring chicken is amazing, you cannot even find a single fault with it. The coleslaw and fries that comes with it is great too. Even details on service is great, they notice two of us are sharing the chicken, they split into two plates and the lady’s side is the one with the sides. The only disappointment is the waffle which is just mediocre but not marking down because it is not really their main forte.

A hidden gem at Hougang Green. Order carbonara and it tasted above average. Staff was friendly and helpful; she asked if I wanted a set meal and when I asked if I could have a different drink that isn't part of the set meal, she mentioned that I'll need to top-up a small amount and promptly went to check the price difference for me. In the end I didn't get the set meal and she was totally cool about it - great customer service! :) Didn't give it a 5-star rating only because I feel that the portion is a little small/price is slightly steep considering this is an old neighborhood area and the coffeeshops around it has food that is much cheaper. But overall still surprising to find a cafe-like place in this area

Its my hubby's comfort place after all.!! The owners are already familiar with his usual order hahah.! Their escargot is surprisingly yummy, make sure to pair it with some tebasco sauce.!

Chicken and prawn aglio olio's wok hei is love. Lamb chops, pork chops, spring chicken are all good. We enjoyed the butter herb rice and Lyonnaise potatoes too. This place is going to become my family's go-to for affordable western food :)

Had chef's hat probably more than 5 times. Dine in as well as through food delivery. Must order the mushroom soup. A way different texture from other mushroom soup you might ever tried. The recommended prawn pasta was greatand the burger. Smells well and taste well. Fush and chips was smaller than expected since the price isnt that cheap. Overall food was enjoyable. Service for dine in was up to standard.

Our family has been patronising this place for a while. The food is always consistently good, from the pasta to the mains, and even appetisers. Really good quality at this price point. Business is brisk during weekends so do make reservations if coming down.

Very good western food nestled amongst the neighbourhood! Been here a few times, always impressed with their pastas. I especially enjoy the Vongole & Prawns Aglio Olio style. They have great homemade soups that changed daily. Definitely worth to come all the way here to have a good meal!

Was there for brunch. Ordered mixed grill, beef bolognese pasta, beef burger set, and mixed platter. The pasta and mixed grill was good. For the beef burger, the beef patty was slightly dry. For the mixed platter, everything on it were over fried. Overall satisfactory, but could be better.

Awesome meals with a standard menu for people who don't like change and also a special's menu on the board above the cashier for people who like to try new stuff. Price is reasonable and staff are friendly. Anyone nearby should give this small restaurant a try and experience the warm of a neighborhood eatery.

Good food and afforable price. I read some of the comment on the portion. To me this is a restaurant. So don't come to restaurant and complain why pricing not the same as kopitiam western food. There a few other kopitiam western food you can get at Hougang green. So to me it's a fair restaurant price and food taste good and fresh. Nothing to complain?

Came awhile back and honestly didnt expect much but the beef and the lyonnaise potato was beyond expectation. Beef was well seasoned and cook to perfection. Potato was tossed with butter well. Props to the Chef, would definitely come here to eat again

This is a small chief hats outlet at hougiang 51 street. It is located at hougang green mall. Its delicious soyo bean ( 原味豆浆) can be taken away. Their delicious and famous dishes are pasta linguine, beef burgers & fries. Popular to young people living around here and those who want to discuss official/personal matters in a quiet place.
