Reviews of Chef Wei HK Cheong Fun
Enjoyed very much! Soft and silky chee cheong fun, quite generous with the fillings. Tried the char siew, mushrooms, and prawn ones. $13 for these 3 plates, good for 2 to share for a meal. Quite a long wait, but worth the visit.
4/5 🌟. The food is really tasty and ingredient are generous. They serve chee cheong fun with fillings on char siew at $4 and prawn at $5. However the waiting time is incredibly super long, where we have waited about 30mins at non lunch hour. Hope that they can improve the waiting time.
After the first outlet opened at Bedok in July 2021, Ex-head dim sum chef at Peach Garden has opened the 2nd outlet at Clementi on 7 Sept 2021.

Had the beef cheong fun. The filling inside is the similar to the steamed beef balls at dim sum restaurant. the cheong fun texture is smooth. the sauce could be a little bit better. Overall still an excellent plate of cheong fun :)
HK style cheong fun(rice roll) is unbelievably good. I didn't know it's a well known chain of cheong fun. The pork version has meaty portions !
The cheong fun was thin and smooth. Sauce was great too. We ordered one with mushroom and one with char siew. Right amount of ingredients.
Texture is very smooth, slightly sticky. Price is reasonable. Char siew is my favourite one.
Tried shrimp and mushroom Cheong fun. Good. Sadly, the sauce is not good. (My parents didn't like, father prefer more thick sauces)
Great HK cheong fun store.
The accompanying sauce is tasty but filled with a GENEROUS amount of MSG! I love MSG but this is an overload. Maybe somebody screwed up the sauce on the day I ate. I dunno. 😂
I recommend to skip the sesame seeds as it detracts the simple taste of the cheong fun and overwhelms it.
Sesame seeds should be optional!
However, it is highly recommended as it compares well to the best dim sum restaurants here.
Went to my favourite hardware shop in the next block and saw signs plastered all over for this place. So thought, why not? Take away as it was still COVID time - one plain and one mushroom. Packed for take way in their own container with the sauce and chilli packed separately. Took it home and was scolded as it was after lunch and we were already full but we couldn't stop eating. Really good. Was told that the next time I went to buy all the possibilities to try, which I did. Conclusion is that the prawn is okay but the least good of the lot. The char siew is a bit sweet and could be better (we've had better). The plain and mushroom are still the best. And worth buying again...and again. Which we did. :-)
肠粉is authentic. Dim sum is so so.
This is the 4th time i eat their cheong fun at this outlet. Compare with the time i eat when they started, standard dropped. Texture not as smooth as before. But, still worth eating.
