Reviews of Chok Dee Authentic Thai Cuisine
First time try. We ordered too much food but managed to finish everything coz the dishes were delicious! We enjoyed all the food. It would be even better if the steamed fish with spicy lemon sauce was more sour than sweet.
Update. The second visit is 5 months later. Food standard has dropped considerably. Adjusted the 5 stars to 3 stars
[5 months ago] The Clear Tom Yum Seafood Soup was authentic, with an explosion of sour, spicy, and sweet flavors combined. The $10 Stir-Fried Meat with Basil Leaves was good, with a large portion and great value for money. The Stir-Fried Kale with Crispy Pork was fresh, and the green leaves were tasty. The promotion steamed fish (the menu indicated it would be smaller than usual) was fresh and big enough for three people. We paid $67.20 for three dine-in meals and one takeaway. Overall, it was an enjoyable dinner that exceeded expectations.
A restaurant located in the heartland serving Thai food. We went there early for dinner, before the dinner crowd started coming in.
Ordered green curry chicken, sambal Kang Kong, Tom Yam crayfish and a hot plate salted egg squid. The taste of the dishes are at best average, they lack the aromatic flavours which I’m looking for from the herbs and spices present in Thai dishes. The green curry isn’t as creamy as I had expected it to be and the sambal kang kong is just spicy and lacking in sweetness and tang of a good sambal. Whilst the tom yum is nicely sour and spicy, it is just that - average. Hot plate salted egg squid is nothing to shout about, the squid is fried with bell peppers and the taste didn’t really live up to my expectations either, for it lacked the creaminess and umami which I’m looking for in stir fried salted egg dishes.
The food is just so-so, but the price is pretty reasonable. I noticed that quite a number of the diners actually ordered the fried rice (individual portions) and the serving size sure looked very generous.
Well, I guess if I were to come back, it would probably to try the fried rice which everyone seemed to be having, if not there are more authentic Thai food elsewhere.
Ample parking lots around. Staff are friendly and service is fast. Red Tomyam seafood soup is fantastic. Can feel the oomph! We emptied the pot. 👍🙌 They are not stingy with the ingredients. Love the pineapple fried rice, and stir fried dou miao with oyster sauce. They are very very good. These 3 dishes we gave high 5.
Our 2nd trip: peak hour, probably different chef. Dou miao (in oyster sauce) tastes milder than our first trip. From the photos can see lighter colour. Tomyam fried rice is good but not as powerful. Got better ones out there. Green curry chicken and the signature bbq pork, sorry, not to our liking. Taste weird. Every diner has different taste bud, they might like it though.
Overall dining experience is good. Will return for other dishes and desserts soon.
Affordable Thai cuisine with good service! Enjoyed the Pad Thai, Otah with Squid and Prawn, and Papaya Salad. The mango sticky rice here is nice too, took away 1 packet.
Opting for less sugar for our Thai Green Milk Tea was a great choice as the tea flavour could come through. Medium queue on a weekend evening at 7pm+.
Love the $6 special Tom yum seafood soup, Masamum pork curry $12, sambal long beand The stir fried baby squid with basil leaves were abit disappointing, lacking in flavours compared to the rest of our food but the baby squid I must say was very fresh. Service is great, food came very fast. I like that for every item, you are allowed to customize the spiciness level, sweetness level (our cold drinks). The normal spiciness was already spicy for me. Enjoyed my meal. Prices were reasonable too. Interesting to note is service charge is 5%. Come before 7pm to secure a table.
Second time here with my family of 4. Food is good with reasonably priced menu. Casual dining with laid-back & relaxed atmosphere. Service staff are nice and polite😀 Would recommend!👍
We came for the dessert and loved it. The CS explains to us patiently and in a nice way too. Recommended place to eat your meal too as they have lots of Thai food to choose from.
Recommended their mango salad, mango in a pack (young mangoe)
Affordable and authentic Thai food. Service was friendly and attentive. We spent $33 for 2 mains, one papaya salad, one Thai iced tea, one bobo char char dessert (takeaway) and 2 packs of rice crispies. Will return to try other dishes!
Minus on star for the atmosphere as there was a blast of air (from the air curtain?) blowing at my head, had to change seats.
We went here twice, 1st time was just me and my husband and we find the food here is very nice. Authentic Thai food❤️
We ordered lots of things on our 2nd visit as there were 7 of us. Most of the food was delicious, especially the prawn cake, tom kla (the best so far I have tried, tangy sour but not so thick on the coconut it's just a perfect taste confirmed by Thai👍🏻)
What I also like is the Oyster Omelette, its soooo good to have it together with the sauce I could feel that I'm in Bangkok eating it!
On a side note, the Otah was a little disappointing as the taste was too blended and it seemed like not much meat inside however the decoration was done very well.
For the dessert, we ordered 3 things, Chendol, Red ruby, and Mango sticky rice. Chendol was very nice, the coconut has a nice fragrance and a perfect sweetness. However Red ruby was too sweet for us and the Mango sticky rice was not that nice as the rice is very hard and the mango was so it might not be the right season for mango.
Recommended dish
- Prawn Cake (real prawn meet and the size is big)
- Tom Kla Chicken (Clear coconut soup)
- Oyster Omelette (served on hot plates with sauces)
- Steamed Prawns (Fresh and a lot of meat, no photos as we were too hungry)
- Chendol (refreshing desert after food)
- Thai tea with glass jelly and Ice Lemongrass
Overall the staff were friendly and the food came very fast despite a full house. We will go back and try other dishes!
Ps, the toilet bowl seems to clog as unable to flush the tissue even though it was a long flush.
The thai here is really good. Tom yam soup, curry pork and long bean are nice. Real authetic thai, even the crew here are thais'
One of the best authentic Thai restaurant with affordable price. The fish got promotion now. Must try. No fried rice photo uploaded but must try too. The uncle serving us is friendly. Definitely will come again 😁
[MEDIA TASTING] Dry Curry Chicken, Massamam Curry Chicken, Pat Liang, Tom Yum Silver Pomfret, Braised Pork Trotter, Mixed Chendol. Authentic Thai Cuisine that offers more than 50 Thai dishes at prices that is palatable to the HDB neighbourhood. Affiliated to Diandin Leluk Thai Restaurant of Golden Mile which has moved to City Gate following the en-bloc sale, Chok Dee which means Good Luck in Thai, uses ingredients directly imported from Thailand, such as ginger, garlic, lemongrass, chili. MSG seasoning is rare since I do not feel thirsty after the dinner. The tom yum silver pomfret is worth a mention as the tom yum is made fresh with the spices and real lemon juices. The boss shared that many Thai restaurants in Singapore uses standard tom yum paste which taste the same and the sourness is via vinegar while Chok Dee's rendition is made from scratch and with real freshly squeezed lemon juices. The star dish for me is the Pat Liang which is very delicious friendly green veg dish that is served with eggs. The texture from the eggs and the vege would surely make this dish the favourite from young too old!
Nice comfortable Thai eatery in the heartlands. Aircon with light Thai music gives you the mood for a Thai lunch or dinner. Food wise, authentic and delicious.
Authentic Thai food at good prices for dine in.
Food is a little oily but overall taste is very good and authentic.
Serving size is good too.
Staff are helpful and friendly, and service is very fast
Big portion but all of the dishes we ordered lacked flavours. They didn’t taste or look authentic also.
The grilled pork salad looked like it’s prepared by someone who’s never eaten Thai food before.
The food is awesome! Service is good and the place is clean. With air-con and music. Must come and try this authentic Thai cuisine with my friends and family members again! Well done!
The basil stir fry with crispy pork is good but the seafood Radna lack wok hei taste . Service is fast and good though.
I have been here several times. And the food's taste is always the best ones in SG. I'm highly recommend this Thai restaurant with the super authentic taste ❤️ Also the prices are reasonable!
Tried this place for the 1st time on sun. Although the price is affordable, but the food is average. We ordered the pineapple rice, n the pineapples wasn't fresh. Tasted like expired canned pineapples. But the rice itself with pork floss was nice.
We also ordered the steamed fish, but it didn't go well with my dad. He was very thirsty the whole night and couldn't sleep as he kept having to wake up to drink water. What kind of MSG did u use??
1st time my dad experience this kind of thirst.. n he was very upset.
Went on a Sunday afternoon, no crowd. The staff is very attentive. The food is not bad. Shall come back and try the desserts.
Authentic Thai crusine in a quiet neighborhood. The dishes taste wonderful and the service is excellent.
Pretty good Thai food , just moved to this location. Lady boss is very friendly.will come back again
Just moved to this area and decided to give this restaurant a try as it seems opened by Thai and thought the taste should be authentic. But was disappointed with their pork leg rice & basil pork rice. There's a very good pork leg rice at Buangkok mrt (beside Starbucks).
The service however is not too bad, but will not go back again.
Family stopped over for dinner and we’re pleasantly surprised with the authenticity and flavours from the dishes offered. We ordered Tom yum soup, pork basil, green curry, Sambal kangkung and each dish was excellent. Service was prompt all the dishes arrived around the same time and it’s well ventilated. Will return to try different dishes.
Went for lunch with family of 4 today and met Patrick. Food, services and everything else was just great. Pricing is good too. I must agreed that their toilet is really in top condition. Once again, Thanks Patrick for the service. Will come back.

My favorite Thai restaurant, very authentic taste and the ingredients are so fresh! Love the fried petai dish! Hope they have less oil less salt options though.
food is ok, and the service is very good everyone there is very friendly although the place is abit small but overall it's good.
Food is great and owner gave very good recommendations!
Will come back again
thai food you won’t find elsewhere. amazing comfort food! 😊
first time trying, and the food is still ok, but pricing is relatively cheaper.. must order is the moo ping
also ordered mixed veg, green curry, honey chicken and omelette.. all are just so so
ordering is via QR, and updates of dishes availabilty is instant.. which is an added value
Tasty and good. Tomyam clear is very authentic and prawn cake is really good. Service is prompt too.
Food is quite good & will go again.
Good cosy place if after rainy .. allowed to sit outside and air con inside too.
