Reviews of Chooby Pizza
Love the pizzas, great dough at reasonable prices (in this economy?!). Had the truffle mushroom and Margherita + pepperoni. Awesome toppings and crust. If there’s only thing I would like is for more sauce, but otherwise no complaints. Definitely coming back soon!
We tried their margarita/neapolitan-style pizza at the Draft Land party event in Oct 2024. Overall, the pizza was good, if a bit of a mixed bag. The crust was exceptional - chewy but airy with beautiful leopard spotting.
The sauce, however, was a mite too watery and undersalted, causing the base of the pizza in the center to be a bit too soggy to be called perfect.
I have been exploring this vicinity as I discovered quite a number of new eating establishments lately - and this is one of them. I was told they were here the last few years but pizza is only served in the evening on days closer to weekend. And I am very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the pizza which is outstanding. I had the pepperoni pizza and for the price, it has to be the best I have had. The dough is so fluffy, airy and chewy with perfect charred crisp at the edge. The meaty pepperoni is also unlike the “flat” pieces of pepperoni so common in other pizzas. Besides the pizza, the ambience is both soothing and invigorating for a relaxing and satisfying evening dining outing.
Hands down the best pizza in Singapore! The texture and taste of the pizza (and the crust!) is 10/10. While their usual menu showcases a smaller range of crowd favourites, I love that they explore completely new pizza toppings (which are all superb!) for their collabs. Would eat this every day if I could.
Enjoyed the experience overall. One of the better neopolitian pizzas and the prices were really reasonable.
Tried 4 of their pizzas and their pepperoni was the best of the lot. The Thai tom kha was tasty but a tad too 'watery' such that every thing slid off when u pick up a slice..
Margerita and truffle mushroom has room for improvement.
Nontheless, would come back for their friendly service and good value
My 2nd visit. Had the Margherita & the Pulled pork with kimchi and a beer to wash it down. Prefer to have slightly less burnt bits on my pizza crust. Didn't get them so sooty the first time.
Was introduced here by a friend whom have been here for quite a few times. This pizzaria is located within walking distance from Farrar park Mrt station. Their reservation is open on Monday 12pm and a SGD$30 is required, the deposit will be offset from your total bill. We were there on a Friday night and the place was almost full.
Ordered 2 different kind of pizzas mainly the margherita SGD$16 and truffled mushroom SGD$18.5 and a side of calamari rings SGD$14. Food didnt too long to arrive. Pizza were okay but nothing special. My friends and i finds that the pizza has a very strong burnt taste which was too overpowering. The calarmari was crispy but texture was kind of rubbery.
Overall, food was okay but could be better. Service on the other hand was pretty good. The staff we encountered that night were friendly.
Yummy pizzas - for me t’s the dough that’s the winner - chewy, soft, and tasty! They make & serve the pizzas a la minute, so the cheese is well melted and stringy, and food comes piping hot. Toppings and combinations are pretty decent.
The menu is limited, but probably all the pizzas are good (we tried 3 and all were good), so that’s ok. Very limited sides though. Small but decent craft beer menu. Pricing is reasonable.
There are some challenges here. You must make a booking with a prepaid deposit. That helps the restaurant space out arrivals and cooking times, but still from the moment of ordering to food arriving at the table it’s 25 - 40 minutes. It seems they purposely stagger your food so your pizzas won’t come all together but one by one instead- but then for all the tables in the restaurant that’s happening m, so I guess the goal is tables aren’t starving. So I guess, order pizzas meant for your party to share rather than pizzas for individual consumption if you can.
I don’t understand why the restaurant doesn’t provide any bread or instantly servable appetisers. If you look around the room, everyone’s crabby and waiting for their food, and a little nibble would go a long way to soothing all the hangry guests. We’d probably even pay for it.
Pro tip: bring your own appetisers. We were seated next to a group that were friends of one of the waitstaff. They had 3 bags of their own pastry as appetisers while waiting. I guess they’d been warned. Also, they got a free ice cream. (That would have been a nice touch for those of us with kids patiently and hungrily waiting for their pizzas.)
Service is not great here, it’s basically self serve. The one waitstaff I did see was only interested in talking to her friends.
Still, pizzas are tasty and reasonably priced, so I might return. Will bring my own appetisers though.
Pizza parlour that takes over the Old Hen cafe! Good selection of draft beers + plenty more bottled. Pizzas are decently priced and tasty, especially the interesting ones like the pulled pork and coconut chicken ones. Pizza slices are uneven though but we can live with that. Definitely worth a visit for pizza enthusiasts.
Organised a birthday celebration here and the service provided by the chooby team was almost seamless. When i brought the cake to them it is almost as thought they knew i needed storage, and also brought out the cake with a lighter when it was time. it is small details like these that make service so excellent and memorable. Pizzas are excellent as always. Thanks!
nice and cosy pizzeria near my place and v good find by my boyfriend (from tiktok) 😋
we ordered 2 pizzas and a full pint beer. the pizzas were made fresh from their open-concept kitchen with sour dough as the crust. typically i don’t like sour dough but this was surprisingly very nice 🤤
both pizzas were very good and came with 6 pieces each. the beer was a hazy berry sour flavour and it really tasted like its description
• pepperoni pizza - $19
• pulled pork pizza - $18.5
• full pint beer (thornbridge brewery floresta) - $20
This is a pizza place in Ferrer park that opens only on Wed-Fri every week. You also can’t walk in as they only accept a reservation from their website (which starts on Mon 12 PM). However, although with all the hassles I had to go through, I really enjoy the food there. We ordered 2 side dishes which are calamari and beer battered whitebait. Both tasted amazing. The pizza were also very good. I love the soft crusts (though some parts were a bit burnt). There are also a few taps of craft beer for you to enjoy 👍🏻
Amazing pizza and whitebait! Beers were great as well. Tried the pulled pork pizza. I'm more impressed by the pizza dough than the toppings which says a lot about how good the dough is! Pizza is not oily, good amount of topping. Great for a casual evening!
Great Neapolitan-style pizzas at decent prices (for Singapore). That said, I found the dough much too sour, leaving a long sour aftertaste that lingers in the mouth...unsure if this is because they have a sourdough starter? In any case, you might like this - or probably won't notice it if you have enough booze to go with (they have a pretty decent beer selection), but I found it noticeable after the 3rd slice and not the most pleasant taste if you're only having water and not a strong drink to wash things down. Also noticed a lot of other patrons leaving the crusts on the table - maybe they just didn't want the carbs though - a pity for such well-textured and well-baked pizza.
Additionally, due to limited space and wanting to manage inventory efficiently, the process of actually being able to get a spot is pretty darn troublesome: 1) reservations via their website, for the week ahead, open at 12pm every Monday; 2) they are only open for a few days a week, for limited hours; 3) you need to pay a non refundable deposit of $30, which is equivalent to 1.5 pizzas.
Overall, pretty good Neapolitan-style pizzas with a slightly modern American twist on the toppings - although I personally did not enjoy the lingering sourness of the dough, I'm pretty sure others would. Also, not a fan of the booking ahead process, as pizzas to me are comfort food and something you should just be able to turn up and get, when it feels like you need it.
By far my favourite sourdough pizzaria. Notwithstanding the $30 deposit and fishy smelling shop beside Chooby's, This place serves up chewy, fluffy pizzas at less than $25 per person. Their whitebait is spectacular as well.
pizzas were quite alright and charred. service was non existent because nobody came by to check on us and we were made to sit at an outdoor table even though the tables inside were not occupied. seemed like a snobbish move. certainly there are better pizza experiences elsewhere.
I've been visiting Chooby's for awhile now and I consistently come back for the pizzas because I think it's one of the best neapolitan style pizzas.
I must preface my review with a small note that neapolitan style pizzas are generally saucier towards the middle and are not conducive to being served by the slice. It's also smaller than their average New York based cousins. Henceforth, the perfect excuse to eat an entire pie.
Chooby's meet all the authenticity requirements a neapolitan pizza demands. It's hand kneaded and formed. It's made with fresh yeast, in this case a sourdough based one which they prepare every Monday to Wednesday before service.
The process really shines because every piece of the pizza is delicious, you have the saucy center in my case the white sauce mushroom and the tomato pepperoni, then the crispy blistered and chewy crust. So you get a combination of textures as you make your way around the pie, it's always a rhythm of flavourful sauce and crunchy crust.
I can't overstate, how much I love the sourdough from Chooby's. It's fluffy, chewy and smokey on the edges. The flavor is deep, complex, tangy and bready. As you make your way down the slice, past the center, you start getting a hit of the yeast, as you bite more of the crust it crackles on the exterior while remaining toothsome in the center. It ticks all the right boxes for me.
I definitely recommend digging in as it gets pulled out of the oven(all pies are baked to order so this is a given).
Moreover, the pizza is not the only item I absolutely adore. Their fried white bait with tzatziki sauce is my favorite starter, it's salty and crunchy while the tangy yogurt tzatziki balances the salinity and oil from the fried fish, I always order 1 but end with 2.
Last but definitely not the least, chooby has an impressive natural wine list that punches in the same range with regards to other notable wine places. They have grapes from micro-wineries in france to italy and they are always updating their menu.
Every time I dine here, I'm always enjoying myself thoroughly with or without company.
Amazing Pizza in a great atmosphere. Loved the music and the all-round vibes. We hat the whitebait which was plenty and super tasty and a Magerita + Peperoni.
4.5 stars
Chooby pizza - Definitely one of the much better pizza joints around town with a reasonable price tag to it.
Although it is minimal frills, Chooby (can I call you that?) has managed to create a great and comfy environment for diners.
Naples-styled pizza where the dough is soft, thin and filled with air pockets. Toppings wise, you have the options of being adventurous (spiced coconut chicken which was yums!) or traditional (Margherita w pepps also yums).
My (only) two asks: Chooby does take-away and Chooby opens for more days (currently Wed-Fri evening).
The highlight was the deep fried fish sticks???? It was so so so good.
Pizza dough was a good texture too, kinda soft yet chewy. And the kimchi bulgogi(?) one was pretty interesting, just that it was a bit too sweet
Service : self service
Food : unagi pizza (seasonal) 5 stars recommended
Pepperoni pizza 3 stars
Unagi pizza : they did not skimp on the unagi slices, little did you know mozzarella goes well with unagi too. Nothing to complain, my friend who doesn’t eat unagi enjoyed this.
Pepperoni : the most simple pizza is the hardest to nail. Not skimping on the pepperoni and thickness. I love the pepperoni cups, soggy Center. But what I think can be better is the crust. A thinner crust to provide more space for cheese and pepperoni. Personally I felt the cheese was not consistently spread.
Will definitely revisit again!
Checked this place out because of a friend’s strong recommendation. Take note of their limited opening days and hours. We ordered 1 pizza each (classic margherita and truffle mushroom). Dough was good and taste was decent.
No pictures. The food was great. Didn't want to disturb the eating!
Very limited menu, 3 sides and 5 pizzas.
We ordered all the sides - mushrooms, whitebait, calamari
and 2 pizzas
The margarita and the fusiony pulled pork and kimchi.
The sides were all deep fried and terribly yummy
The standard pizza (we added the pepperoni) had a lovely crust. Some char as required.
The pulled pork with kimchi and pineapple sounded disgusting but was quite delightful!
For 3 people!
I like the size of the pizzas which allow you to order and try more flavours. The sides were just plain yummy!
Oh, the pistachio gelato was lovely too!
Cool late early 2000s club music in the background.
A small nondescript cafe turned pizzaria pumping out delicious pies - potentially challenging the more established best in Singapore. Let Mason and the crew pour you a glass of well curated wine and enjoy the vibes.
Been here 3x. 1st and 2nd time were 💣. But 3rd time was a flop. Wish the quality can be more consistent.
Still love the dough so much! Fav is the pepperonis and laksa chicken. 🤤
Definitely not the average Italian pizza that you'd find here. While there is much to improve on quality of ingredients, the dough itself is great. I think if they could work on that, it'll be a road to success.
The craft beer, NEIPA, is prob the best IPA I've had.
Affordable pizza. Absolutely loved the crispy whitebait snack, pizza was nubbad.
Really love the creepy pizza logo design but space not beautiful though endearing.
Pepperoni Pizza was not bad. The margarita pizza & fried calamari were a bit "meh". It can get quite noisy inside the restaurant
I was a lot more impressed when I had it at Nutmeg. Our pizza dough wasn’t cooked through, even if the flavours were alright. Whitebait is rly addictive
Pepperoni pizza was awesome!!! The hot honey works so well. The pizza dough is very light and airy unlike typical pizzas, and has very good leoparding. Truffle mushroom pizza was okay, not as flavourful as pepperoni but that’s the most you can get with mushrooms. Would definitely return to try the other flavours.
This is where you will find a proper pizza. Book fast! I promise you, Chooby will not disappoint. The pizza base is bursting with flavour - stick to the classics.
Good if you like chewy crust pizzas. Creative toppings but they’re not my favourite. Expect a bit of waiting time for pizzas.
Pizza and beer battered whitebait are amazing and the wine list is always full of amazing selection at reasonable price.
Only By Reservations! Dough freshly made. Had the spiced coconut chicken & the truffle mushroom pizza! Very good selection of wines too! Will definitely be back more often. My new go to Pizza place!
We really enjoyed the pizzas - the dough was chewy and airy and the toppings were great too.
The service was a let down - it felt a little pushy. In addition, the pizzas came out one by one and I note from other reviews that this is a consistent complaint. This dampened our experience a bit as the first member of our party had finished before the last member had gotten their order.
The staff were friendly and attentive. Pizzas were really good. Dessert was okay but you would definitely wanna come here just for the pizza! I like that the tables were comfortably spaced out so you don't feel too close to the adjacent table. Would definitely come back again!
Delicious Neapolitan style pizza served alongside a small selection of sides and craft beers. The whitebait was amazing.
Nice and tasty pizzas, with dough freshly made in the restaurant. You can tell they have been working very hard to get that dough texture just right, so I expect to see some more cool experiments from this innovative crew.
Service is great, attentive and friendly.
You do need to prebook before you arrive here as that's their preferred style and it's minimum $30 deposit when you book.
Seating is quite spacious enough and they let you see them make the pizzas in their two ovens which is nice.
Lighting is mood lighting, with beers and coffee served with your pizzas if you like that. Menu is digital via QR code so you can scan the menu online before you arrive.
Worth checking out if you are planning to go (remember to prebook).
I’ve always been a fan of Old Hen so when Chooby Pizza opened I had to try. It did not disappoint at all. The pizza flavours were excellent however the dough is incredible. Nice and chewy, baked to perfection.
Do note that reservations need to be made, easy enough to do online. It’ll be worth it.
Really yummy pizza. I’m not sure why they are only opened a few days weekly, but so worth the wait! Have brought several friends here :) please try the spiced coconut chicken pizza!
I have not had the pleasure to visit your establishment yet. But I will certainly do so when I’m in your neighbourhood next, after reading about the customer with a massive case of self-entitlement and total lack of consideration for others, who cried wolf about racism and wished that your restaurant would close down just because his unreasonable whims weren’t met. I would dearly love to know which country he hails from where eateries are kept open for customers who do not respect appointment times (and also lack the courtesy to inform the eatery). Kudos to your establishment for standing up for your service staff and for not returning the customer’s deposit.
5 stars for standing by yr staff!! I’ve not tried yr pizzas but would be doing so soon!
Would love to know this fella’s country of origin as would love to visit a country where restaurants actually CUSTOMISE opening hours according to customers whims and fancies…
Coz I usually have to walk the dog at midnight and after that get hungry…so it’s tough finding food at 0100am u know? Wonder which wonderful country is this…🤣
I’m writing this note to render my support for your firm and righteous response against the unreasonable customer whom you recently encountered. If they can’t simply adhere to the restaurant policy then they should go elsewhere or better still, return to their own country to embrace their own dinning culture. No love lost here. Kudos for protecting your staff from these annoying dumbwits.
Good chewy crust pizza, but flavours are a bit hit and miss. Cool vibes, but not the full experience. Could return
Delicious pizzas, bit of a hipster joint. Was quiet when we went there on a Friday night.
Had some of the best pizzas ever here, staff were very welcoming as well!
Been here several times and I really love the consistency of the dough and the toppings. No problems faced with their customer service at all
Love how you handle tough customer! Not only serving food, you guys give great lesson! Looking forward to visit!
Super tasty pizzas at a very reasonable price. Will definitely come back. Reservations required
Delicious pizza with light and chewy dough that's baked perfectly in their little ovens. Will be back!
Awesome pizza! Wish they served wine or sake by the glass though.
Cozy ambience combined with excellent pizza & a good range of tasty alcohol. Would definitely return.
Best experience since i had not tried here’s advanced review. Keep up the good work.
Great chewy pizza :)
Will be here soon to support you guys because customer are not always right. Well done on taking care of your staffs
Fuss free and simple, pizza as it should be.
love the fact that they protect their staff against idiot customers
