Reviews of Daisy's Dream Kitchen
As a perankan, I strongly recommend this place if you're looking for authentic peranakan dishes. I came with 2 other discerning peranakans and had a fantastic time. Very authentic dishes: buah keluak (they use pork instead of chicken, which in itself is unusual, but nice), nyonya chap chye, itek tim, meatball soup, lemak curry chicken, and ice cendol made with real gula melaka. The beef rendang is relatively tender, but I've had better at Bonding Kitchen.. (well, peranakans are famous for being super critical oops).
Came here for birthday celebration :) the location is not the most accessible . Hidden in the greenery in the west, but if one make the effort to go there, he or she will be well rewarded with good food and service. :)
Located in Temasek club, Daisy’s dream kitchen is a cosy eatery open to public. I would advise u to call to book in advance before u go.
The serving portion is not super big but the quality of the food is good. We order meat roll, char Chay, sayur lodeh, kua keluah, fish maw soups and spicy fish.
The food make u feel like one of those meal when u visit ur favourite aunty whom will cook u a table full of yum packed with home cook flavour. Nothing fancy in term of the display just authentic taste of food made with love. The portion of soup can be bigger though lol, although I can understand u can taste the superb quality of the ingredients that goes into it, so it all about the quality not quantity.
We finished off with dessert like the Bobo cha cha, chendol and Bobo Hitam. The Bobo Hitam comes with coconut ice cream and the chendol is really good. Bobo cha cha I think it’s alright. I would say definitely worth to travelling here! Truly a well hidden gem!
Oh if u ask if there is any other branch? U will have to fly to NY to eat it at our KF Seetoh’s Singapore foodcourt! Haa :)
To conclude, a great place to come with family and friends. Go go! Support good food yo!
I had a dinner with friends here at this Peranakan restaurant. The food was nicely spiced and cooked as if it was a home cooked style. It was a pleasant and chill experience.
The food here was pricey, especially for an out-of-the-way location. Beef rendang and laksa costed $16.80 w/o GST and Svc charge. Portions are small and barely filling. About half the rendang had lean meat which was hard to chew. Laksa was average although the scallop and prawn were fresh. Wet towel costs 30c and there's no free water provided.
Tried the buah keluak set. True peranakan flavours, dish is well made. Sambal is very tasty, might be a good idea to ask for extra. Portion size is rather generous, was able to eat for 2 meals.
Great peranakan cuisine. It's at Temasek Club at Rifle Range Road so if u don't hv a car, getting here can be difficult. Nice cosy, simple restaurant but good food. Will be back.
Cosy little peranakan place in Temasek club. Very good authentic dishes with very attentive and friendly service.
Reservations highly recommended.
I will recommend the black ink squid.
Loved the beef rendang! Delicious everything! Amazing nasi lemak rice. Best I've tasted. Legit fried chicken. Refreshing lemon grass drink. Sumptuous butter cake, served warm with ice cream on the side.
Best Peranakan restaurant in Singapore!
Very delicious the dishes and also not costly very affordable. Very grandma feel home cooked food will definitely come again
So let's be real, the food tastes great BUT the price to portion size is questionable, the last two shots are what is advertised and the second and third shots are what you get.
Located inside the Temasek Club near the lap pool. Can enter from basement car park. Limited seating so best to reserve.
Great food, reminds you of grandma's cooking! Portion is indeed small. Recommend the ngoh hiang & ayam buah keluak.
Daisy of West Coast fame in Temasek club. Now helmed by the Rock Chef (her son). Very home styled flavours. Love the candlenut. Ate way too much. Dishes have a personal touch. Wonderful these family recipes have been passed to another generation but daisy's personal touch is still there!
It’s a 3.5 star for me - but brought it down cause of the price. Maybe it’s because my mum cooks this sorta food better or because I had a lot of this in Malaysia. But quite average in taste - didn’t have a special zest or spice to it that I was hoping for.
Do recommend the Kueh Pie Tee though!
Been to daisy kitchen for numerous times. Food has always been great, be it dining in or takeout or even delivery. Service staff are usually great too with the exception of one. The short hair lady with specs. Her service has been consistently AWFUL.
Food is rich and tastes good. Ambience is not bad.
Delicious food. Special props to the bwa keluak rice, beef rendang, ngoh hiang and sayur lodeh. Nice restaurant that somewhat away from the maddening crowd.
Perhaps I am not really into peranakan food, so to me it was less than mind blowing experience. But food was tasty nonetheless, but again. Maybe not to my palate. Coupled with the relatively high price, it made it into less than great experience. I can see the efforts and heart put into the cooking though. That said, The ngohiang was EXTREMELY tasty. And what pushed me to write a review is how they impress me by using tongs instead of hand to put in the straw for drinks. Talk about hygienic practice!!
Really exceeded expectations for Peranakan food. Had the rendang bowl which was flavorful and authentic. Sambal is super hot and irresistible, worth the slow burn in the tummy later. Otah portion small but enjoyable texture with chunks of fish. Ngoh hiang balls were more like regular meatballs though. Chendol was enjoyable.
I rarely leave reviews, but I have to say, visit this place for amazing and authentic tasting food. Their ngoh hiong is one of the best I have eaten. Savour the party in your mouth as you crunch down on these juicy morsels, chokeful of ingredients. The textures from the water chestnuts etc, and the savouriness of the meat adds layers and depth to every bite.
Have been making regular trips down to grab their food even during circuit breaker coz it is just too good!
First time trying and the food definitely exceeded my expectations! The Assam chicken bowl is a must try, chicken is soft and tender and yet boneless. Highly recommend their Ngoh Hiang too! Definitely will come back again!
Daisy’s Dream Cafe offers honest to goodness delicious Peranakan fare and more! The Ngoh Hiang Balls are my favourite and I order boxes of it very regularly. Please try the rice bowls! The beef rendang is very authentic, the Assam chicken is tasty and succulent and served with crunchy chap chye and sambal belachan, its sooo yummy! Now, let me also tell you about their Lemongrass and Lime drink. It’s so original and it’s out of this world. Ice cold, just the right sweetness and so addictive! I recently ordered their weekend specials of mee siam and dry laksa and such generous portions as well! I highly recommend Daisy’s Dream Cafe. Can you tell I’m a big fan? 😊
The food is not bad but nothing that I would recommend the drive out to Temasek Club for except for the Peranakan Asam Fish -- which was one of the best I have tried. Cooked with golden pompfret, the asam sauce was rich in flavor and authentic. This is the dish I would come back for. Overall, the food can be a little pricey and portions are small - just to set the expectation. Would not recommend other dishes.
Excellent and very authentic peranakan food. In fact, the best that I had in Singapore and also reasonably priced. The ngoh hiang and the sambal fish were very tasty. Their curry chicken that is available only on weekends is also a must try. The desserts are also very good and I particularly liked the chendol. Would highly recommend this place.
Hands down the best peranakan cuisine experience which earns 5 of My stars vs some 1 M star wannabe. Not to be missed is the black ink squid and the ubiquitous buah keluak. Take a bite and you will immediately taste the intricacies and flair of the cooking that makes this delectable place stand out far apart from the rest. Definitively worth the gastronomical and gruelling journey!
Highly recommended for lovers of Peranakan food. The travel into Rifle Range Road is very much worth it.
As someone who very much enjoys Indonesian cuisine, the use of spicy flavors and mixing of chili is extremely well done.
My favorite dish, to be clear, is the ngoh hiang because of its higher proportion of meat filling compared to other popular Perankan restaurants.
Daisy's dream kitchen deserves 5 stars for their Peranakan food. It is delicious but their service knock them down. We frequently order the black ink sotong and we know how its suppose to taste like. It was once burnt - the burnt aroma linger in the dish and it disrupted the rich, assam, sauce. We pointed it out to one of the owner and she said its suppose to be a bit burnt. She should have apologize to us, taste our burnt dish (so she knows what went wrong - it wasn’t a bit burnt), and offer to bring us a new one because we barely consume it. After this incident my family does not want to frequent this restaurant though I don't mind coming back. I think it is vital to listen to customer and not dismiss them so casually.
Pleasant ambience in the restaurant. Good for small group of 4 pax. Chendol taste good and the bubur chacha with brown sugar I love it. The sambal belachan with emping was awesome. Abt the laksa, I would prefer more rich in taste.
Taste good, pricey and small portion
4 of us ordered beef rendang, chicken, sambal fried fish and ngoh hiang for lunch. The food is good though the beef rendang used to taste much nicer.
The location of the restaurant is not easily accessible - driving in is the best option.
A nice treasure trove! I bumped into this over Google and almost gave it a miss but am glad we decided to give it a try. Everything about it oozes love and family. It was just like going home for a meal with your loved ones. Dishes were great and delicious. Love the Beef Rendang and their Asam Fish. Will go back to try their Pork dishes soon. :)
My family decided to pick up the Tok Panjang set for take away this Easter lunch.
It was a pleasant surprise to receive a little card in this time of quarantine and lock down. We particularly enjoyed the Ngogh Hiang, Bakwan Kepiting, Buah Keluak and Bo Bo Cha Cha :)
Thank you for the food to all at Daisy's Dream Kitchen.
Good place to enjoy Peranakan/Nyonya cuisine by local comedienne Selena Tan's mother, Daisy Tan. The dishes, like the restaurant, are small and unpretentious, but the home-made taste and friendly service more than make up.
This restaurant serve authentic Peranakan food. I like the babi buah keluah, the taste of gravy and meat is nice. Their food serving portion is relatively small.
Great peranakan cuisine.
Wonderful flavours & fragrance.
Nice little restaurant for peranakan food. Enjoyed all the dishes that we ordered. Portions are a little small, enough for about 3 to 4.
Food was tasty and prices reasonable 😋. Staff are friendly and helpful, good place for Nonya food bec almost 80-90% authentic! Check it out for yourself and enjoy 😉
Good is genuine. My only reservation is the portion of otak as a side dish is tiny and leaves patrons quite disappointed.
Amazing peranakan food at very reasonable prices. Call ahead to book on weekends - they can be really popular!
Looks good...Very nostalgia feel.Taste shiok

Very attentive service, very authentic nonya food. Remember to make reservation and don't miss the babi-pongteh!
Great local food with a celebrity connection. It's going to move to a new location but wherever they are, I'll make the trip to eat there.
Excellent cuisine, tasty, fine ambience and good place to bring the young ones.
