Reviews of Fat Po
The food is ok, with generous portion. However for the beef horfun we ordered today, the beef was too hard, we couldn even finish them. For 4 people, 4 main dishes, 3 drinks, we spent close to SGD100 so it is on pricier side, i think.
Update, came here the second time and ordered waterfall potato and aglio olio as side dishes, eating them tgt is heavenly <3
Years back when I came filled with excitement looking at the interesting menu and selection. I came recently to enjoy family makan session, here's my experience.
Service
The staff were not attentive, lack of communication and concern. It was like serve and can't wait to leave. One of the staff was like throwing the utensiles at the collection point. Making unecassary noise.
Menu options
I had to look at the menu more than 3 times as I felt the selection boring. Nothing seems to interest me. The 6 star feeling back then, this is in of the most disappointing dining experience I've had at fat po. The all day breakfast lack of so much they can offer.
Offering loklok which is available just next block.
My very first visit many years back...
Why I give 5stars, the staff are accomodative, food is OK very interesting taste of fusion, Asian and mix. The sauces can be quite peranakan especially the 🌶 sambal.
Been visiting this restaurant for a few times and till date it doesn’t disappoint me. Located within the Tebing Lane in Punggol. Restaurant was nicely set up with both outdoor and indoor seating. Suitable for friend and family gathering and family with young children or elderly. Do try their fried chicken skin, beef hor fan, prawn cake and mushroom aglio olio. Most of the food here were quite decent, personally I feel the price was on the higher side.
Planned to visit the cafe next door but was closed for renovation so we settled for Fat Po. Looks crowded with families on weekends brunch. The staff were pretty nice and friendly and showed us to a table, brought us water and a physical menu when the QR didn't work.
Was impressed the menu had quite a wide variety of dishes, and some looks very interesting. We placed our order and despite so many people, food was still served quite promptly.
Was telling myself not to give high expectations of the food cause haven read much reviews about this place, but have to say first was very surprised by the portion of the food served. Looking at the chicken chop laksa, we got quite a shock for that could actually serve 2 pax. Food was well worth the price. I had the polo har jeong gai, looks good but there wasn't any har jeong taste and the polo was a little disappointing without much of the polo flavours. Other than that the rest were pretty okay, friends commented the coffee was quite nice, we liked the prawn pancake with the power sambal sauce.
Can visit more often because there are really a lot of interesting dishes I would like to try.
Went there for dinner about 6 30pm on a weekday evening. Not crowded. Food was good especially the chicken bun. Portion was reasonable and if you go before 7pm, some of the dishes are having a 50% promotion currently.
Great variety of food, ok quality. Moonlight hor fun is typical, but rice bowls are very value for money. Unfortunately, while they are served in beautiful China sets, they are served at room temperature. Not sure if it's one off but price does not justify this treatment, even hawker center cooks hot food. Apart from that, interior is very beautifully furnished and comfortable. Will be back again to try another time!
Nestled among few restaurants along a river leading out to coney Island. Serving up fusion food with an extensive menu at reasonable prices. Good if you want to get away from the usual crowded malls.
Updated menu. The $8.80 small plates were very delicious and good value.
Food portion is great and service staffs are very hospitable. Oysters are fresh. Polo bun really yummy. Mala pasta seasoned just right, would say is the best I’ve tried in fact!
We were intrigued by the special fusion. Alot of special choices. Food wise I would say the masala fish polo bun was the best. Mala noodles was not very good. Rice bowl was also just average.
Drinks wise the strawberry iced lemon tea is worth a go as they also put what I guess to be strawberry flavored aloe vera which enhances the taste greatly.
Staff were friendly and the atmosphere was nice and not stuffy. I would give it 3.5 stars as the food was just average. However, considering their courage and creativity, decided to give it 4 stars instead.
1st time visiting Fat Po. Was there on Jan 8 evening at 6.45pm. The place was crowded with people and the place is full of restaurants. Decided to go with Fat Po. 2nd in Q and managed to get a seat quickly. Crowd and Q built up after us. Good and prompt customer service. Serve us drinking water with kids utensils. Ordered 2 mains + 1 kid meal + 1 side = SGD 63.90. The portion is generous. More than enough for my family (2 adults + 2 kids). Fusion style food that is tasty. Will recommend people who wants to try fusion.
Nice place to chill at but the food was average tbh. We ordered the mala vongole and laksa. Mala was pretty bad imo. It was just spicy, nothing much else. Laksa was the better of the two, but nothing outstanding. Their sides were good tho! Chicken skin and sambal fries were yums. Service was great!
Initially went to the area to dine at Whisk and Pedals. Saw a slightly larger crowd here, so went to check out menu. I saw the notice that there is a fresh oyster promo on Tues.
I have been feeling like eating oysters for the past couple of days, Fat Po serves oysters, so decided to go in despite there was no promo on this day.
Dishes served are innovative and the owner probably dedicated quite some effort in R&D. The Bolo Bun is toasted perfectly. I usually don't eat fries, but the fries served is very good. I usually don't have much expectations of the drinks, but the lychee tea I ordered refreshing and very well balanced. Forgot to take pictures of the hokkien vongole. The broth is full of umami, probably from the very generous serving of clams. The thick bee Hoon is very challenging to eat with fork and spoon, so prepared to get a bit messy
The food was ok for me, didn’t really suit my taste. Love the tofu fries still though! A great place to chill for coffee and chit chat, food wise was ok for me.
The price point matches the portion size! This laksa is fit for 2 people so come hungry! Service is also really good! The vibe is Friday all day everyday!
Wanted to visit the cafe next door but it’s closed for renovation so we just settled for Fat Po.
Forget to take a photos of the polo bun chicken. But that’s fantastic!
The fries are crispy & lightly salted. The chicken is also nicely seasoned and fried, surprisingly goes well w the plain polo bun.
Pull pork sliders is also good.
The price is on the high side though.
Made a delivery order via food panda, delivered in time. All the dishes are well packed and secured no spillage.
Ordered Prawns Soba Aglio Olio, Garlic Baguette Sticks, Har Cheong Chicken Bolo Burger, Chicken Chop Lakse and BBQ Pulled Pork sliders. All dishes were great and tasty. Har Cheong Chicken Bolo Burger came in a very huge portion (est. 2 servings). Prawns Soba Aglio Olio was great but portion size might be a little small. Overall a great meal.
Wowed by almost every dish, hidden gem of a place. The drinks menu is also extremely friendly with $5 gin and tonics / whisky sodas. $10 cocktails.
Highly Recommend the:
Hokkien Mee Vongole
Cream Sauce Eggs
Lychee Gin & Tonic
Our fav chill out restaurant on a weekend. The food is local fusion with pretty interesting combinations. Our fav is teh peng, polo bun, pulled pork dishes, otak snapper (new!) hokkien vongole, and corn with edamame. Wide selection of alcohol and margaritas at just $10! For those driving, there are three carparks and public parking. Can get crowded on weekends and dinner time. Highly recommended.
Nice variety of Asian/Western fusion food. Love the polo bun with butter, otah mantou, laksa and bbq broccoli. The rest such as sambal fries, bbq prawns and chicken wings are nice too. Friendly service and feels spacious due to the high ceiling. Will visit again.
Like some reviewers, I ended up in Fat Po as it was long queue at Whisk & Paddle. But it was a pretty good meal at Fat Po, with interesting fusion cuisine like Har Jeong Gai Polo bun. Flavourful chicken, not too salty, that goes well with the Polo bun. Great for sharing actually, rather than finishing it on your own. A couple of interesting pastas and rice bowl were also in the digital menu, although it sadly didn't work ony phone.
Will try to come back and try more items on the menu when possible, as I don't stay in this area.
Our intention was to have brunch at Whisk & Paddle but the queue was too long so we tried Fat Po which is just next door & it turned out to be a wonderful experience.
We had masala fish & chips & a chicken spaghetti. Both did not disappoint. The alfresco seats are well ventilated & its enjoyable to dine & chill without the crowd.
We will definitely return if we are around that area.
Very interesting fusion food with friendly and helpful staff. Ordering conveniently done through app. Food is served quite fast.
Ordered a pulled pork salad, strawberry yogurt smoothie and Mala Mayo Fries, food is mostly above average. Will come back again to try their extensive menu.
Their is also ample parking space and easy drop off point for taxis, but not convenient for public transport as it is quite a walk from main road.
Located at Punggol Waterfront so can take an after meal walk along the river 👍
Stopped by here for a late lunch after going to Coney Island. One thing, the portions are insanely huge! We ordered one fried chicken laksa and one hor fun. I think each can easily feed 2 people. The bowls were huge and the gravy was filled to the brim. The seafood horfun has a lot of seafood, including mussles, sotong and huge prawns! The laksa gravy was very fragrant and delicious too. The fried chicken cutlet was juicy and goes surprisingly well wih the laksa.
2nd time and I’m an avid fan of Whisk & Paddle these 2 restaurants are diamonds in the rough. Food is good, service is friendly, great ambience and free music from the opposite bar! The alcoholic drinks are cheap 😍. It’s indeed a very “happening” place at Punggol! Come join us. Oh and the hokkien vongole is just so tasty you want to slurp up all the gravy.
The ingredients are not that fresh.
We ordered the signature dish called Har Cheong Gai burger but can’t smell the prawn paste. And the salad besides is total not fresh at all.
Overall, the staffs are nice and friendly just the chef needs help himself.
Well, I think I won’t come back again.
👍🏻👍🏻 Food is still yummy... But not so nice after witnessing a lizard on e wall (indoor) 😵💫
Great food with Big portion. Cozy and Spacious Area. Not forgetting the attentive service staff
The fusion food here definitely exceeded expectations. Ordered a variety of food with the fam bam and all the dishes were spot on. The generous slab of sambal chicken in the bolo burger I ordered was fresh, juicy and well cooked. Honourable mention for the assam prawn pasta and sambal cheese squid, though the squid could have been a bigger portion for the price. Topping things off with $5 cocktails, had a very decent G&T, it was a good dinner and worth a return visit for sure!
Simple looking food that taste flavoursome. Portion of laksa is enormous. Staff are friendly.
Their amazing har cheong gai burger bolo inspired my boyfriend to figure out how to cook his own har cheong gai at home 🍗
Was pretty quiet on a Saturday afternoon
Expensive for food that is salty for our taste. The place is so dim, could add more lights. Carbonaras taste the same eventhough two different type. The flavor can be more enhance.
My first visit here, on the whole besides higher price food is acceptable what I didn't expect is the wilted and soggy salad that they served 😩
Had the chicken chop laksa and asasm spaghetti. It's not bad for fusion food.
Service was fast. May come back again if Whisk & Paddle is packed.
Loved it! We had the Lok Lok set with additional chicken and mutton skewers, and a deep fried pork belly side. Bursting with flavours, so good. The avocado shake was like ice cream, and in a generous portion (here I already drank some of it). Hubs had a bucket of 5 beers @ $25! The best thing was the service. Super friendly and helpful. They close at 10.30 and we had trouble finishing our drinks by then (lol 5 beers) so one of the guys helped us pack into takeaway containers and let us sit outside. My heart is so full, and so is my tummy.
Beef bowl was good but the rest was avg or so. Nice chill place though.
Food is great! Often overlooked because of the place next door but it gets busy during lunch time. Limited options however.
It was our first time trying at Fat Po this morning after our workout. Delicious breakfast offered and many more good dishes to come back to try. Especially the Bolo Bun was really nice.
Crispy chicken cutlet, waterfall fries and bolo bun are good
Food was great and service was good too. Highlight to me was the tofu fries!
All time favourite 🤩
Staff friendly
Food not bad
Beer reasonable price
Place Convenient
Interesting fusion food, cool place to hang out. The staffs are very friendly too!
ordered Fat Po breakfast and cream sauce eggs, all pretty good I would say, some of the corn had a bit of rotten parts though
Minus one star because you took away my favorite seafood laksa! Please please please bring it back!
Nice ambience and food. Friendly and helpful service staff. Its even pet friendly at their outdoor table!
Wide variety of food from lok lok, fried mantou. More local food kind of food.
Unique Asian Fusion and homemade fresh Polo Yu. Will go back often to try all their noodles selection.
Food was quite pricey but nice. Had the black Angus beef rice bowl. The scallion was rather overwhelming though. I was pleasantly surprised by the radish and pork soup, which was good.
Friend had a pork chop burger. Was huge. The fries were rather.... raw potato tasting, if you know what I mean.
Overall quite ok, just pretty pricey at above 50 bucks.
Fusion food .. but..price ?? On the high side. Anyway , a kool place for a break for cyclists ... must try @ ice melaka teh !
Interesting fusion of East Vs west. Their laksa is amazing and their hokkien vongolae deserves a try!
Casual vibes, well spaced out tables. Food portions are decent but prices are above what one would expect for an eatery essentially along a park connector. Each main is a smidge below $20 before service charge and gst. Not quite the cheerful neighbourhood restaurant.
But that said, even the "prata shop" opposite is practically the most expensive mamak style food you can have anywhere on the island.
These rentals gotta be controlled somehow else it's gonna get out of hand.
Ordered the tomyum seafood spaghetti and grilled pork bolo burger. The spaghetti was good and they were generous with the seafood. Bolo burger was an interesting fusion and was crispy but the grilled pork was too tough. Place was a bit pricey as well.
Food is good. Wow for laksa! Fantastic for teriyaki chicken bites
Nice bubble lychee tea using Thai tea. It has somewhat cooling effect as u swallow. Taste like 枇杷膏。 location not really convenient thou. Buses 85 & 35 but don't ever Missed the stop or u will end up in Tampines the next stop.
Had chicken cutlet po lo bao! Portion is huge for 1 person. Compared to a usual fast food burger, this is at least 1.5 times the size.
The same goes for fish burger po lo bao, portion is big. Mother in law had the laksa which comes with a large size of chicken cutlet.
Was there for a closed event birthday party.
Accommodated around 60-80pax?
Service was quite prompt, food took quite a bit to churn out but understandably due to the big group.
Will go back again if happen to be around punggol.
Food was good. Had unexpected surprise in the fusion of the food. Went on a weekday evening and there were plenty of space.
Portion is good, top up to get sambal fries or cheese dips.
This is a very kid friendly diner place. They will wipe down baby chair and provide kid's utensils. Most of the food options are fusion food, but you can find very authentic option like Seafood Horfun or homemade bo luo bread. Friendly and prompt servers enhanced the overall dinning experience!
was crowded everywhere during the weekend until we saw this restaurant that has available seats so we decided to try it out. although the prices are a little on the high side, the food was enjoyable and the service staffs were attentive too. they also serve interesting fusion dishes that we didn’t managed to try it. would love to visit it again.
Accommodating as my friend is a vegan😀 staff has to exercise proactive and attentive when customers wave or water low in cup. Not forgetting our weather super warm, customers do drink lot of water despite having extra drinks.
I had my fair share of fusion food, and I must say, this is by far the best fusion food cafe I have ever eaten 👍🏻. We ordered the Sambal Chicken Bolo Burger, Har Cheong Gai Bolo Burger, Basil Pork Pasta and the Hokkien Vongole. Every single dish was perfect in their own way👌🏻. Sadly, I forgotten to take any pictures this time, but I will be sure to come back to do so the next time I revisit the place!
P.S. I would come back here just for their bolo buns which are made in house 🤤
This place generally serves good food. Love their bolo buns which I believe is made fresh. The burgers are huge. The beef rice bowl is very nice. The fried hor fun is lovely.
Best Bolo bao and fusion pasta/ hor fun dishes. Must try! Love the ambience there as it’s not as crowded as Whisk & paddle. Same owner!
Really good local food with a twist! The sotong is to die for. Although the wait time can be a little long during peak hours, it is all still worth it.
Good food. And very large portions. Service too. Just that the aircon needs to be cranked up.
Laksa, prawn pancake, har cheung kai, etc were delicious!
Food was delicious. Tasty. Loved the Asian and western fusion
The food is fast and the food is good. The food is served quickly and the food is good.
Well attended
