Reviews of Fei Fei Wanton Mee
1. Upon arrival, the workers asked if I was eating here and I said yes. That's it. Not a menu or directions to any seats despite the workers standing around outside. Restaurant was empty. I had to ask if it was free seating but no reply. (Workers are all foreigners)
2. Menus are at the cashier area cos I found out must order at the cashier. No instructions or directions at all nor a QR code to scan on the table (if you have newly moved here or renovated, shouldn't you keep up with the times?)
3. S$6.50 for smallest bowl of noodles thats accompanied w a bowl of wonton soup w 4 pieces.
- noodles were dry
- char siew dry and bland
- soup thankfully got taste
4. S$11.90 for a plate of spicy wanton
- taste was splendid with right amount of Spiciness and sourness
Quite sad to see a huge difference in overall quality as compared to when they were a different part of Katong previously. Has quality been compromised over profit?
Ever ordered your noodles and then regret after the first mouthful?
Well, this happened today, after not eating here and dreaming of it for the last few months, I instantly regretted not ordering the medium portion instead of this small.
The yummy egg noodles and the sauce has now created an imprint in my core memory. (The char siew is so-so but the veggies makes up for it, the delicious wanton taste is not easily replicable)

Wanton Noodles small + 9 piece Wanton Soup = $7.35 because of the 50% promo from 3pm to 5pm. Last day of the promo is end August.
Great noodles texture, nice wanton & soup. However, charsiew is lacking. Prices are high, going at $6 for the basic wanton noodles. Also, ambience is lacking with cheap furniture & poor craftsmanship, does not accept scan to pay options.
Awesome wanton mee! We ordered the authentic white wanton noodles instead of the red (with ketchup aka Singapore style - we don't understand why there's ketchup in the first place). They have other selections on the menu. The Fried Prawn Roll was so yummy and not too filling.
I recently visited the FEI FEI Wanton Store around 11 pm, and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed with the experience. The staff were incredibly friendly, and despite the late hour, the store was impeccably clean.
While enjoying our meal, my daughter had a little mishap with the noodle sauce splattering all over her face. Thankfully, a female staff member noticed and promptly came to our aid with tissues, displaying exceptional attentiveness and care.
I wholeheartedly commend the exemplary service provided by the female staff member. Her quick response and genuine concern truly elevated our dining experience. Without a doubt, she deserves all five stars for her outstanding assistance.
Overall, FEI FEI Wanton Store not only delivers delicious food but also sets a high standard for customer service. I look forward to returning and experiencing their hospitality again soon.
Excellent supper places, super decent prices. Fried wanton and noodles is perfection!! Come with a big group definitely got space for all!! Menu has different choices, for everyone, no problem!!
Taste of noodles with chilli is perfect.
Dont forget to order drinks too, and there is a toilet to wash up. Clean
Not a big fan of feifei for the past 10y. Before that it was ok. Salty base noodles with very good wantan. But charsiew is not good at all and a waste of chew. Pro tip: tapao the wantans and head next door to xo youkee and order their charsiew noodles and enjoy the best of both worlds.....
love the al-dente texture of the noodles, their version of wonton noodles tend to be towards the drier version instead of the saucy one char siew was generous and fried wonton were fried well and plump
One of my comfort food, have been patronising fei fei since they were at their previous location at joo chiat as a smaller stall. Glad to say that the quality is still there!
Update 2024 jan: noodles are now white again, slightly thinner than the original one. Sauce also improved and closer to original now. If ah ma original was 10/10, this is like 7/10, not a bad effort. Price very high now though, $6+ for a small bowl
The grandma made the best noodles I've ever had, now the kids takeover and they decide to cut costs or recipe was not shared by grandma. Noodle not QQ anymore and even the colour change, used to be whitish. Taste is gone. Price increased. Very sad.
Honestly underwhelming to me. Chanced upon this place after doing some volunteer work nearby. The noodle is Q, if you like super spicy chilli you won't be disappointed here. I personally found their crispy wanton not bad but others found it a bit too salty.
They sell quite a variety of sealed and ready made drinks. I found their Bandung just nice.
I think it really depends on your preference. Will I come here again? I probably won't. For wanton mee there are definitely better stalls around where the ingredients are more flavourful etc.
Just down the road there is one stall that sells otak otak and wanton mee as well. Usually very crowded that store. Ah Lim Jalan Tua Kong. I tried before and its not bad. Would recommend that wanton mee over this one.
The taste is still pretty much very similiar to what it tasted like many years ago when it was still a small stall within the the coffeeshop a few steps away from its current premises. The only difference is the price. The most outstanding element has to be the seasoning sauce for the noodle. Its 24hrs, so can consider this place for supper next time if you are hungry.
A childhood Makan place that still doesn’t disappoint. The chili on its own is spicy enough so just be mindful of that.
A small bowl will cost you $4.50 which is a decent size. They now accept fave pay/ grab pay which is much more convenient for customers.
One of my favorite places for homemade noodle. Meatballs are very unique, great texture. The prawn rolls are best I've had in Singapore and same for the braised chicken feet. Clean location and fresh food.
Open 24 hours and the food is exquisite. The wontons are soft and tasty with crunchy tails, and the spicy noodles go perfectly with the salty broth.
Fei Fei wanton mee is a reborn food establishment that is wildly different from its past.
My wife has been a fan of its previous establishment when it was back in 72 JC. Moving to 45 JC is a good call for families with children as it is clean, spacious with new furniture.
The servers were the most attentive and pleasant people that we have ever met. Mind you, We had 2 kids with us, 1.5 y/o and 3.5 y/o and it is not easy to juggle them. The moment we walked in, my wife spied they were preparing 2 teddy bears behind the cashier as we were ordering. The tall Indian server went above and beyond to surprise each of them separately to give them a focused and dedicated experience while the other Chinese young lady took my order.
Food was served promptly and it retained the flavourful wanton mee with a splash of pork oil of its past establishment. As with every other toddler who are learning to eat properly, accident happen. My youngest accidentally toppled a bowl of noodle. The staff immediately reacted, assured me that it was fine and started to clean away the noodle within minutes. The staff also came over with a clean bowl without us having to ask for it.
As we left with a happy heart and a full stomach, it started to drizzle. We decided to make a run for it to our car. We stopped midway in a half constructed shelter across the road while we waited for cars to pass, suddenly the Chinese Young Lady appeared with a very big umbrella. She asked if we needed an umbrella. I managed to put my eldest into the car while she held the umbrella for my wife and youngest.
Nothing beats first-class local food with world-class service.
Not my type of wanton mee. Chilli is spicy and good but the noodles are average. A bit of too much hype on the noodles. Char siew is a bit hard. Wanton tastes bland. The take away box looks good but it is a hassle to eat with it. The flaps get in the way of your hands. Would prefer a simpler design of takeaway box for easy dining. Fanciful packaging does not equate to good tasting wanton mee.
It falls within the less oilly n lighter taste range of local wanton mees. Wanton meat is lean n a bit dry, noodles can be more QQ, cha siew is a bit tough n dry. Soup is tasty n can be less peppery. Paying S$5 for a small size, n they don't serve with deep fried pork lar. I personallyprefer the Eng type instead of Fei Fei.
Not as good as it was but still one of my fav. Plus point for the new shop where guest can dine comfortably
New owner and new location. The food has gotten a lot greasier with distinctively less flavourful. Something can be done and should be done about this. Please spend some time, and maybe even more money, to run a test kitchen on your wanton mee. Don't let Fei Fei go down the drain like this.
I especially like their oil that's used to mix the noodles! Really fragrant and make the noodles moist and not clump together 😋
Ordered the large bowl ($5), was given a lot of noodles and toppings. An authentic bowl of wanton noodles, the texture of the noodles is very unique unlike other wanton noodles I tasted very springy and chewy.
One of the legendary breakfast places here. They open 24 hours. They have noodles and of course, butter kaya toast, but they use buns not bread slices as usual. Their noodles, I love it, it's so mild, rich for the flavor. Good price too. Good places n vibes. Go here and try them out!:D
Anytime can go supper 😋😋taste ok,price abit expensive
Locally made noodles, it's our usual wanton mee go to place. Try the white version with a little bit of ketchup plus a yongtaofoo side & dumpling soup to share. Little known secret is that their teh tarik is one of the best! Pulled by highly skilled Alif, friendly guy in red 👍
Tasty wanton noodles for late dinner last night. They have small $4.50 or large $5.50. I ordered dry and the sauce taste nice. Would come back again if I'm nearby.
Noodles and wanton are well done, chicken feet is well stew and flavourful to the bone, satisfying my craving
Long time patron from days yonder before they moved to this current location. Feel the standard of the wantan mee has dropped and they added many other menu items. They shd focus on their specialty. On a plus side the new place is clean and spacious; unfortunately they blast awful music. Not coming back again. For this style of wantan mee, Eng’s is superior
Love the good old taste. It’s special especially the texture of the noodles.
Old school wanton mee. Half price set for seniors
I love their wanton mee with green chilli. Ordered takeaway and remember to ask for green chilli as they don’t pack it.
Haha ! Too expensive to visit again 😞
Noodles 7.5/10
Wanton 8/10
Chilli 7/10
Soup 7/10
Char Siew 6/10
Price - 5/10
q noodles n excellent meatballs. but taiwanese friends find it too salty. oops.
Taste improved abit after shifting here and new renovation. What's missing is the otak otak from the previous coffee shop which goes well with the wanton mee. Fried wanton is nice!
These folks serve up some pretty solid wanton noodles. The combination of springy noodles and punchy chili sauce makes their bowls irresistibly gobble-worthy. Though be warned! They do have consistency issues.
They are also open late into the night so it's perfect if you're looking for a hearty supper alternative to prata!
Noodles were quite Q, done well but was too oily!! Wantons were not too bad. For the same price I can get better noodles. And do check the prices before ordering, we ordered a plate of fried meatballs without checking and it was $8! (Not worth your money, it was way too salty!). Coffee here was good though!
Ate this growing up. It used to be great but not it is just a better than average bowl of noodles. Quality varies depending on who is in charge that day. Ironically, their indian worker does it the best. Nice part are the noodles, as they are apparently handmade. Eat if you're around, but need not specifically travel to have it. Order the small portion as the proportions are better.
Standard dropped badly. Soup served was lukewarm, chilli sauce tasted sour, even the dashi added into my soup refill was tasteless. I'm not suffering from Covid, that I'm sure. But the dashi and chilli was the most disappointing moments for my supper. I've never returned a bowl of soup, especially after asking for refill. But I really couldn't make myself finish the soup. Please look into maintaining the consistency of your dishes. 🙏
Went back again today as a convenience. Their taste is back again, but the chilli still tastes a little weak (kinda lack of body). Other than that, the soup was back to steaming hot, noodles are fine and their chilli doesn't taste sour any more. Hopefully the previous incident was just a fluke.
Noodles were fine but char siew serving too little
Had the small wanton noodles price $4. The noodle is the difference from other stalls. It’s softer and feels more homemade then factory produced. I would recommend to give it a try if you are in the area. Drop in anytime as it opens 24 hours.
Very good wanton noddles. Can see the founder's portrait in the shop. He use to cook noodles without shirt on and the children helping in adding the ingredients. Must use the same bowl to go to him for soup. Do not provide extra bowls for soup.🤤
The standard is dropped. Ordered the drug noodle and it was salty, especially the wanton. The drink is ok. Cook changed maybe?
A nice place to hangout around Joo Chiat area. .i love the wanton noodles n dumpling soup . You should try it!
So good. Its a memorizing taste of good
Wanton perfection in taste and a mouthful of goodness. Noodles chilliness 🌶🌶🌶 still good as it was 40 over years ago. My son slurped up the noodies with perfect timing despite its
Spiciness. And the soup is still so tasty
And powerfully mouth slavating good.
Must carry on makan.
The mee tastes good and is springy but they should give more wantons for large portion.
Very bad service at the new store. Food is okay. Aircon at the new store👍🏻
Quick service and reasonably price . Special discount for seniors available. Nice touch !
This shop must have been here for a long time. Their Wanton is simply delicious...price is right too! My family and I ordered side dishes and they were soo well made! Highly recommended to eat here...its a nice place to have a meal.
The food doesn't meet the value of the price for me
Been eathing at Fei Fei wanton Noodle ever scince i can remember, it was run by the current boss grandfather, at a sandy village
My view is that the quality of the wanton noodles has gone down from days of old. The service quality, however, has increased.
I don't know the price and they didn't give me a receipt so I don't know the individual price, but both the soup and fried wontons are good!
To be honest, I don't think I need the noodles since they are instant.
I ordered a lot of things and it cost S$30, well, that's it?
The fried wontons were delicious. The noodles weren't bad either.
Saw the dumplings pictures on the menu, 1 look more while the other look lesser. So i asked the service staff if they are the same. Joel's replied they are the same but he made me sounded stupid.
Ordered 1 small size wanton and 1 dumpling soup.
Char Siew, vegetables n wanton were fresh. Noodles tasted flat and had the "ghee" . Dumplings were big and fresh, 4pcs in a bowl. I took 2 bites to finish 1 dumplings.
