First i want to give a shout out to the server Christina. She was great! Friendly and attentive! Second, Located on the second floor of Citygate, "Ubin express" is the mini version of famous Ubin Seafood Restaurants. Express menu is very limited. It has about four main carbo dishes... and some appetizers. I ordered their famous heart attack fried rice and boss beehoon. Both are very good and the prices at $6.50 and $7 respectively are reasonable. Eating the heart attack fried rice made me nostalgic for Ubin Seafood restaurant's accompanying rib eye steak. The boss beehoon had super powerful wokhei. A bit over the top, but fortunately not overboard. As a promo, they gave me squid paste youtiao which was surprisingly tasty. While, i did like the dishes, i found it got jilat very quickly. The fried rice and beehoon was oily (must have oil, thats why its tasty) coupled with deep fried youtiao. Their other starter options were also deep fried. So cannot escape one. So i wished they had a wider selection on their menu to balance out the heavy oiliness on the palate.

Our first time and it’s pretty cool and nice food We tried their sirloin steak, chicken chop and lamb chops and its pretty value and also each main comes with 2 sides so we had 6 sides The crispy chicken wings afforded a yummy taste Tucked neatly on the second floor of Citigate, we recommend diners to come here for a nice family outing with friends and relatives Recommend Score : 8/10

Nice quiet place for lunch and for the environment (aircon, service) is good value. Quality is as good if not better than some of the western chains!

Portion is good for price. Servers are very friendly and approachable. Surprisingly not much of crowd. A must try!
