Reviews of Gokul - Raas Vegetarian Restaurant
Some Batura & Rava Masala Thosai with Coffee! Wonderful yet again! Thank you Gokul!
It’s my second time to his place. The first time I went, I’ve ordered biryani and couldn’t finish it at all as I was alone. The quantity is too high which is actually a good aspect. Then, the second time I went with my family. We ordered all this and were really really full. Though it’s just 4-5 items..
quality of food :10/10 I’d love to give more if I can!!
Taste : awesome. I’m drooling already and can’t wait to go there again.
One of the best places to hang out with people who love to have mock meat.
Menu: omg the menu is never ending! So many options.
You can customise the food the way you want I mean: Jain food, vegan and vegetarian which ever way you want!!
Returned today to indulge in a hot bowl of Mee Soto. All the spices are such a delight to the pallet.
Tasty Jain vegetarian foods served here, no egg, no onion, no garlic! Simply awesome!

This is our hands down favourite Vegetarian Restaurant in Singapore. My family comes here at least once every 2 months. Food is prepared on the spot, fast and very delicious. Has a vast menu to choose from. Been coming here for the amazing food for over 15 years.
We ordered Nasi Goreng Kampong, Roti Jala and Tofu Goreng. The food was tasty. Roti jala's curry was slightly sour. Rice portion was big. Service was great.
I would say they have hands down one of the best vegetarian and vegan food. This is the place I would always bring my omnivorous friends when they want to try vegetarian food for the first time and I really want to wow them. A must to order would be the Hokkien Mee (not the special one unless you like it mixed with Beehoon).. Their Kampung Nasi Goreng and Chicken Rice is great too and I also really love their Masala Dosa and Briyani. They are a great option for catering and delivery. The only reason I would give a four star instead of five is that the service staff (mostly family members of the business) can be pretty standoffish sometimes even though we were nothing but pleasant and easy customers I swear.
Known for mock meat
First point.. A mock meat is just that, a mock... So don't compare to real meat as it tastes no way like real meat. If ur a non veg lover, u will disappointed with mock meat. Might work for pure vegetarians.
Apart from that
1. Rotti and Naan was excellent, among the best I have had in Singapore
2. Curries was good too. We tried butter chicken and palak paneer. Both were good, although"chicken" in butter chicken was not very good. I'd rather stick to rral chicken.
3. Service can be a bit slow for esp the Rotti items. But they were polite and friendly
4. Prices are reasonable for a restaurant style place. Naan and roti goes for about 2.5$ a piece.. Curries are 10$+ a portion
GREAT FOOD! Vegetarian menu with no onion and garlic. Please empty your stomach and treat that as your only meal for the day.
You won't believe how a vegetarian gokul dish can taste the same as the meaty similar dish.
Definitely best restaurant for plant based food. As a veggie I was so pleased to find an extensive menu and such wonderful flavours what a find! Thank you
Really nice food but big portions 😊
They have many vegan options! I tried veg. satay with the best peanut sauce ever👌, veg. prawns and veg. Laksa Goreng.
Staff is very attentive and makes you feel welcome.
I was so torn about the rating. The food was so good. Especially the Laksa Goreng, Mee Goreng, Rendang and Paper dosa. They were excellent. But the place itself felt so grimey. The lack of light and the uncomfortable seating made for a very uninviting eating space. The service was good. I would recommend people taking away instead of eating there. For vegans, please mention that you want the food to be vegan.
The place was a bit busy but worth it. I tried malai kofta for the first time, along with one chapati and masala chai. The gravy of the malai kofta was amazing: creamy, rich, lightly spiced. The kofta were soft and fluffy pillows of goodness. I would definitely eat there again!
It's a great vegetarian restaurant that serves Indian cuisine, as well as local cuisine such as vegetarian chicken rice and nasi lemak.
Delicious Indian food! Hidden gem in little india.
Service was superb. Food was excellent.
If you miss it, you will regret it- like my friends who went to eat somewhere else and left me alone.
One of the best Vegetarian restaurants which provides such a huge variety in f food options from mock to burger pizza and the originality of every taste stays
Delicious nasi briyani! Awesome mock mutton and really fragrant rice. Malai kofta and paneer were average.
Still one of my favourite place for Indian crusine. Service always nice and food always satisfied my taste bud. Must try their fried rice n mee goreng, got wok hei.
My vegan friend ask me to come to this place to try the fried rice. Shiok! Some more presented to you in pyramid shape. I duno how to explain but this fried rice unique taste.
Can improve on the service and the place abit cramps they have more room for improvement from service to the cashier they should improve more being friendly and polite
My curry place to go for nice Indian food and local fare.
Nice service, good food and all allium free.
The variety of dishes and the speed at which they were prepared and served was amazing! Food was excellent! Hope they have more branches around Singapore now that vegan diet is picking up!
The biryani was great considering it is vegan and paper thosai was good! Their drinks not that great tho. There is western kids meal like pizza, pasta, fries and more.
Super rich in flavour , delishes vegan food. Vegan chicken tikka masala and beef rendang are fantastic!
This is a place you shouldn’t missed if you are finding vegetarian food.
I enjoy every bites of it.
Order the vegetables Briyani, over taste was great, however spicy level is pretty spicy for me.
Recommended by friends that this is a reasonably priced restaurant with reasonably good vegetarian food. Friendly and buzzing place with good service. Menu is filled with different offerings including mock mutton and other mock meats.
It’s a great restaurant, specially for those who would like to savour local cuisines but are vegetarian/vegan. Thumbs up for the endeavour, similarly Indian cuisine is quite decent with big portion size.
Best place to have mock no veg items in veg flavours.
Lovely food. Must try their chicken rice.
Finally visited this very famous vegetarian restaurant after so many years after hearing about it. The food we ordered were all good and the mutton masala was superb. Will certainly return to try out its other dishes. Getting a seat and also parking can be a challenge so better to visit on weekday to avoid disappointment.
Food was still good as the 1st time I came here though there are times the food taste different due to different cooks. But the service have been not consistent in the past years. Seems like with just the number of diners in the restaurant, and with tables Seems different from another won't it spark the crew something is missing? But Seems the staff just turn a blind eye to it.
Also water is not serve to me this time round while other diners are getting the water treatment. Such differences in the services.
Very good food👍will come back soon❤️
Food is very good. But they are serving non veg also. By keeping name of gokul you should not serve non veg food. Service is also bit slow but overall its nice.
Enjoyed the food and atmosphere, service was a bit slow otherwise everything else was great.
One of the best places for Vegetarian and Vegan crowd to bask in. Plant and diary based food morphed into local delights is quite rare. This restaurant does really well in maintaining the originality of local delicacies while transforming it into meat free delights. This restaurant prepares food with no onion and garlic (allium free) and doesn’t serve unhealthy soft drinks.
I recommend Fried rice, Satay and Dosa.
Good masala dosa (though a bit more of the filling would have been nice) and mango lassi. Prompt service.
For all those people wandering for vegetarian and no onion garlic food , best place to be but will suggest to have south Indian or biryanis
One of the best vegetarian restaurants in Singapore in terms of food but please avoid food delivery via their preferred partner MyFood at all costs. No estimated delivery time, no customer service, delivery costs >$12 and takes longer than 2-3 hours each. I really hope Gokul uses a difference delivery service or make it available island-wide on Grab or Deliveroo
Great place for a vegetarian/vegan meal. I had the chilli chicken hot plate (faux chicken) and kway teow Goreng (with tofu) and finished off with blackcurrant kulfi. Be prepared for waiting in line for 15 min at the min in rush hour. The staff are very polite and the proprietor keeps moving about to ask customers about their experience. You'll shell an average of 25 S$ per person but totally worth it!. They deliver as well fyi :)
The food is absolutely delicious. There is a reason this restaurant was packed when we arrived for lunch. We were lucky to get the last table. If you want delicious vegetarian food with a great selection, go here
Very nice vegetarian restaurant in little india, Singapore. Best for Indian tourists. We went here after spending whole day in zoo , we were very exhausted. And wanted quick meal , and we got it... Dishes are tasty , portion is good. They serve complimentary rice papad before your order is served. Owner is a great guy who recommended us a local rice noodle dish which was tasty. Overall a great option for Indian vegetarian ppl.
For vegetarians wanting to try really good south Asian cuisine, this is a must visit. Bored of desi Chinese food, please visit this place. Spiciness added on demand. Totally not to be missed on any trip to Singapore
The food is delicious (but may not be very healthy). They do use a lot of mock meat in their dishes especially the local favorites such as laksa, mee siam, mutton and chicken dishes etc.
Do try their mock mutton fried rice & mysore mutton which is very delicious.
It's a nice restaurant, friendly service, tasty food. They are quite a lot of mock meat options as well as good variety of vegetarian and vegan options. Good place to take your vegan friends.
Had a hearty meal..briyani,char kway teow, Chinese rojak plus sago for desert...no complaints..emptied every plate😁oh yah n not forgetting their ever favourite sardine curry puff...all vegetarian mind u!
Delicious food and all vegetarian. They also make non vegetarian items with Mock meat. Very tasty. Dum biryani is a must try.
North, South, East and West combined in the menu. You will never regret it. Totally vegetarian, non onion and garlic. Finger lickin' good!
The vegetarian food is impressive. There's a lot of variation but once you know what to order it's incredible. We were there with a guided tour, so it was delicious. The vegetarian laksa and the carrot cake were great!
It was not as amazing as expected. There were three dishes for two people (all the dishes ordered were all-time favorites on the menu), among which Murtabak was the most delicious. I wanted to eat curry (North India), but there was only one choice of vegan. , we chose Mushroom Kurma, but it tasted weird. It was the most un-Indian of all the Indian curries we have ever tasted. There was also Chicken Rice, which was just ordinary. You don’t need to try it. The attitude of the lady who paid the bill at the end was not very good either. Well, overall, not worth a visit.
Arrival on 14/8/2020
Indian vegetarian meals provide boiled water
The food is delicious but the price is higher
Drinks are more expensive
Business is very good and there are many people. Have to wait in line
A clean vegetarian restaurant with an extensive menu.
Spinach and cottage cheese curry and cheese naan recommended by our staff. It's light and delicious.
There are very many customers during lunch time.
The food tastes okay
The counter owner is unfriendly
It's delicious. It's more expensive now, but it used to be cheaper.
There was less food, which was a pity.
The vegetarian food is delicious, similar to real meat. What I really like is the menu called mutton keema.
Unfortunately each portion is very small, you have to buy many types of food. The starter order also took a long time to arrive, the main meal had already arrived, the starter just arrived. Apart from that, everything is ok.
It is a healthy vegetarian Indian meal without onions and garlic. Every dish is amazing. I love sesame Naan. I will never get tired of eating it. It is clean and comfortable, and the service staff is very friendly.
