Reviews of Gyoza no Ohsho Singapore
Been probably a decade since I last visit. Love the chilli prawns though eat it fast for the crisp batter. Quiet place with aircon and not too loud and great for quick catch up.
Comforting bowl of Kimchi Ramen with must try their Gyoza
Location: Gyoza no Ohsho Singapore, Cuppage Plaza, 5 Koek Rd, #01-10, Singapore 228796
Back to this all time fave ramen eatery again. All was still as delicious, & felt so heart warming to have cooked ramen & gyoza at this hour 😋
Superb gyoza and fried rice. No frills shop at cuppage, which is stacked with many Japanese cuisine dining options.
Ramen was decent. Place is rather small. Order the small portion of rice as the large is quite big. Will try other options in future.
Seating capacity is quite limited. The gyozas were really good, crispy on the bottom while still juicy on the inside. The filling was flavourful too. The portions were really quite huge, in fact a little too huge as we both couldn’t finish our mains. We also tried their sweet & sour pork which had a really pleasant and nostalgic taste to it - the meat was also tender. Prices were also very affordable!
The fried rice is more suited for 2 pax and was honestly a bit of a let down. The rice was too sticky for our liking and kind of bland. All in all would return to try the other items on their extensive menu!
The gyozas were soft and flavourful on the inside, while the outside was slightly crispy . The tomyum ramen at $17 had 5 small prawns in it… the prawns were different from the bigger sized prawns that they used to cook it with … hence I give them 4 stars instead of 5 stars. The tomyum soup broth was still great. Service was prompt and I didn’t wait long at all for the food at late afternoon/ early dinner timing.
The hiyashi chuka was served real cold with flavorful sesame sauce. I loved it a lot.
The spicy chili ramen was not bad too, not very spicy.
The gyoza was not very good, the meat was a bit mushy and taste powdery, could be better.
Prices are around $13~$18 per dish. Beers around $7~$9.
Portion wise is super value for money! Hopefully they can improve on the broth as it can quite salty and spicy. Gyoza is surprising good.
Went again. This time ordered the toufu and tenshinhan.
Ordered the tenshinhan set came with the kyoza. The daily ramen set came with fried rice. The side cabbage taste bitter. $14 for each set. Decent meal with big portion.
A no frills ramen place. Have been coming here ever since 10 years or so. If I would happen to be around the area and crave a bowl of ramen. This would be the place. Affordable ramen and tastes authentic. Maybe a little hard to locate. Overall, a place for a quick meal.
Humble eatery with comfort food served hot! Ordered set E which has Crab-stick Omelette rice in thick gravy and Gyozas. We added extra set of Gyoza and food portions were generous enough for sharing.
The Gyozas were crispy on the pan-side and soft and juicy on the inside. Stuffings were tasty. Eatery offers free flow cold water and there’s no GST and Service Charge fee for the food. So menu price is what you pay. Will definitely be back to try more items!
a little shop at the side of Cuppage Terrace in Cuppage Plaza. Went for lunch on a weekend; it wasn't too crowded, but it was pretty full. I got a table real quick. The set menus are convenient to choose from. We had tonkotsu and shoyu broth for ramen and gyoza and karaage. The karaage was too salty but fried till crispy and cut to bite size, which I love.
Gyoza is very tasty and crispy outside.I would say the ramens are just okay; the tonkotsu broth is pretty light, and the noodles taste like they have a bit of akaline in them, the soup taste of xiao bai cai 😆. Shoyu broth is light and tasty; cha siu melts in your mouth. I love the amount of spring onions in them.
For the price, it's neither too expensive nor cheap, but the amount of noodles and side dish are well worth it.
Appreciate the service from the young, kind, and friendly lady.I'll be back to try their fried rice next time!
Tucked into the small corner but still visible from the entrance. Like a hidden gem!
If I were to describe it, I would say its a very hearty and homecook style meal. Though the flavours were not mind blowing, I realise how I started craving it the day after!
We had the Tonkotsu Ramen, Crabmeat Omelette Rice, Gyoza and a nice sour plum drink! The gyoza and crabmeat omelette was really the best takeaway I had from the experience.
Though we had more than 10 people in the queue before us, It took us just 15mins to be seated in the small and humble store.
Very good service for such a run down looking place. Staff was efficient and courteous and spoke good English.
I ordered the Buta Shogayaki (Sliced Pork with ginger). It turned out to be more pork belly then sliced pork, but the ginger taste was strong and good. Saw the reviews here saying that the food can be quite salty, so I requested for them to tone it down for me, which they did. It was still a little salty but paired with the refreshing cabbage, the dish was good.
Business was brisk and people usually eat by themselves and turnover is fast. Stir-fried pork liver seems to be the favourite. Will definitely come back to try that :)
Tasty food and good portions! I came here as I had seen the good reviews and was craving Katsu Curry Rice. Therefore, I had the Katsu Curry Rice and it was crispy and delicious. Price was 16 dollars (without gst) but portions are good and it came with a bowl of soup.
Quaint little Japanese eatery in cuppage plaza. Can't rmb the name of the ramen but it was like Chinese San Mee (生面). Super crispy, super fragrant, and the sauce was a thick, savoury with a little sourness to it. It even had a heap load of veggies which is quite unique to ramen.
It might be because this was Chinese inspired?
We also ordered the 50 gyoza to go (didn't manage to take a picture of it). This was super worth and great as a karaoke snack!
Tasty, simple and quick Japanese food. Really enjoyed everything we tried - pan fried gyōza, pork liver with leek, yasai korroke and rice with crab and egg. Keen to go back to try more from the menu :)
Tasty ramen and gyoza, fine with the broth not too thick. However, finds the sweet and sour pork a little tough.
Better than average, fresh gyozas.
At $6 for 6, it’s reasonably-priced. Expect juicy gyozas with cabbage. The servings are on the smaller size, so if you’re intending to only have gyozas, you’ll need two servings.
These aren’t the best, but better than average.
Gyozas are average
Mains are really yummy w generous portions. Fav has to be the tenshinhan
Vibes are always on point here
Gyozas are definitely the highlight. I like that they’re very crispy. But the filling left me a bit underwhelmed- tasted good but it was very mushy (was it under cooked or is it meant to be that way?)
Fried rice is ok, has the wok hei flavour. Portions are quite generous.
Superb value for money lunch set and it’s similar to a ramen ya in summer time, Japan. The fried rice is highly underrated and a must try. Shio Ramen is my choice and the waitress will remember despite not being able to be there often.
Previously patronized this place about 10 over years ago and came back again recently. The shop was previously opened by a Japanese chef and i guess he has retired and passed his skills to someone younger. Fairly popular shop among the Japanese people working in Singapore. Specialty includes the pan-fried gyoza and tenshinhan. Place is small so you will have to wait for awhile when it is crowded. The shop opens till late night so people who drinks at night can come here for supper.
I spent a ton of money at fancier places that charged like a wounded bulls and the servings were stingy. I eat here and was so happy with the price quality and service. Highly recommended.
Came here for a ramen at 2.00 am in the morning just before their last order and was not disappointed. Their gyoza are heavenly as well. Not overfried or too oily, but with just enough meat taste.
Tried the stamina ramen, which has a gingery taste to it, as well as the chasumen, which has a pretty rich flavour, considering the price (SGD15). Down your ramen with a dose of Japanese sweet beer (Photo attached) and you're set for the day no matter what time it is.
Cuppage plaza is filled with many of these hidden gems especially for the nighttime hungry insomniacs. Visit the other food stores nearby like pontian and Japanese bbq to switch up your palate.
5 stars for gyoza but the mains were so so only. Curry rice was extremely salty and grainy, and the yakisoba was just alright. The gyoza was really good though, a must try!
Extremely good and cozy ramen & gyoza place right in city centre. The ramen broth is rich and flavorful, the eggs are delightfully soft, and the gyoza is a godsend when dipped in the self-serving chilli and oil.
Xueting served us and gave good eecommendations and was highly service oriented. I think she actually likes her job and it shows. On top of the great food with very decent pricing, it made the meal a great experience.
We had a gyoza with omelette w crab meat rice, and a nagasaki champion noodles. Will be back.
Good authentic Japanese food. Understood that the owner who is a Japanese chef will come and supervise/cook from time to time. Had the tonkotsu ramen and fried rice with chasyu(grill/broiled pork). The gyoza is nicely pan fried. Overall atmosphere is reminiscent of a Japanese road side store, which reminds me of the times when I was working in Japan.
A simple yet tasty meal located near the entrance. This restaurant does not charge any GST and service was fast.
Ramen tasted not authentic, gyoza was good. Pricy to me. more than 20 SGD for photo one.
Good Place for Authentic Ramen and Fried Rice.
Everytime I go their quality is good. Also a very quiet cozy place during lunch in the past.
But since the pandemic the hours have been cut short to only dinner service. One of the better Ramen options in Orchard area.
Stable tasty gyoza, Jspanese-Chinese cuisine. Number of table and seat is limited.
My son said curry rice was a bit spicy. Chicken karaage was crispy.
Price is not cheap.
Affordable ramen in town. They are very generous with the toppings. Portion is on the bigger side. The place is small and there are not many seats, but everyone is used to sharing tables. Avoid sitting close to the kitchen as it gets pretty hot.
Located in 5 Koek Rd, Gyoza no Ohsho is one of the preferred Japanese restaurant in this area. Ramen is simply delicious. Must try the gyoza which is nice. Consistency in service and food quality is recommended. May not be a place if you don't like oily food. Mineral water is served free of charge. If you are tired from shopping, wind down here and have a tasty Japanese curry. What a great experience!
Just a warning - the gyoza is extremely pasty (almost feels raw and gooey) and not the conventional kind of gyoza that is normally served. Do not make the same mistake as me when I ordered 18 gyozas on my first try LOL instant regret.
Fried rice and soup is extremely good though so I'm still giving them stars. Will still come back just for the fried rice.
My go-to place for good gyozas. Tried their fried rice, tasted really good. Also tried the Japanese curry rice, not bad too.
One of the more affordable eateries in Orchard.
Edited: This shop wins the price and quantity of the food! Will come back again for gyoza!
The food is as nice as ever. The restaurant has already exist for more than 10 years already!
One of my favourite spots for a quick and authentic japanese meals in Singapore. Located off Orchard Road, the main shopping belt and tourist zone in Singapore. Gyoza no Ohsho is opposite somerset 313/ orchard central and beside Centre point shopping center. Walking pass Gyoza no Ohsho, it looks like an unsuspecting food joint which you would give a miss. Likely to be drawn to some of the other Japanese food joints along cuppage terrace. Go in with an open mind and find out why its so good!
Good food, preferred the fried gyozas.
Comfort food.. fair price. And good services
Not exactly a restaurant but the food is good. My favourite is the hanchahan (pork fried rice) and gyoza. Delicious. The ramen is not fantastic I must say.
Very cosy. Fried rice has the wok hey. They serve comfort which makes your day better.
Very tasty Ramen and friendly service. Prices are reasonable and Japanese folks frequent the place as well.
Love the gyoza here!
Ordered the dinner set, the portion did not disappoint. The price is really reasonable too.
The ramen is more expensive than in Tokyo. But authentic.
The gyoza was super yumm! Worth every penny!
Great food prices were reasonable, the portions were great too! Will revisit.
Good food at a reasonable price in the city. Also open till late during covid period
One of the best Gyoza in SG
5 star for the gyoza 🥟 affordable price
The reason why cuppage plaza is still around.
5-star late night comfort food super!
At first, I was a little worried about whether it was a pirated version, but it turned out that the dumplings were really delicious after eating them (it tastes even better after drinking some wine). It seems that they are genuine! This place is also open very late. If you want to have dumplings for a late night snack, this is the place🥳🥳🥳
Speaking of Chinese restaurants in Singapore, this is it. I'm not impressed by the taste, and it's not particularly delicious, but I feel nostalgic about Japan.
Of course, the price is higher than in Japan, but it is recommended for people who like popular Chinese food.
Very delicious! Fried rice is okay too.
It was 3 a.m. after a drinking party. It's hot because of the exhaust from the ventilation fan! It's sticky everywhere and unsanitary, but you wouldn't know it if you were drunk. The taste is pretty average. No repeats for this purpose. It's just for cooling down after a rampage at cuppage, though the exhaust from the ventilation fan is hot!

It was really delicious. The service is fast and it's good home-cooked food. Special every day, very good, recommended!
Is delicious.
Kansai-style (not sweet) Tenshin rice is delicious.
The gyoza and rice dishes are delicious.
The quality is no different from Japan's king general.
When it comes to gyoza, go to Osho!
Delicious and halal.
