Reviews of Hashida Singapore
First time trying lunch Omakase edomae style at this place, been wanting to go but every time misses the opportunity as this Omakase place been in Singapore for some time. Sushi and other selections was delivered perfect and impeccable flavour, well done for the young chef gave him a sake treat to appreciate his sushi craftsmanship. There’s only one thing that bothers me which not related to the place as I was sitting next to British gentleman who constantly put ginger on every sushi was served to him which was a pretty disappointment due to chef hard work in preparing every piece of sushi I reckoned he doesn’t know to appreciate Omakase experience.
Tried the chef’s omakase for dinner priced at $520 per pax. We had a lot of food and we were so stuffed at the end of the meal. It was a good meal overall but it felt like the standard has dropped, since the time that the restaurant was still located at Mohd Sultan. Not sure if it was the soy sauce that was lacking in flavor, overall just wished that the sushi packed more punch. The cooked/sashimi dishes were good, but none was impressionable.
Superb Omakase and great experience. Sushi was incredible. Everything from the sashimi to the sushi to the cooked dishes were all made to perfection. Highly recommend and will definitely go again.
I had eaten here years ago, and realised I had never written a review. But I still remember the meal. Easily, by far, my favourite Japanese omakase I’ve had in Singapore. Arguably one of my favourites I’ve ever had, including those in Japan. Hopefully I can return soon.
Omakase with very fresh and high quality produce worth the $$$$ price. Every dish was great with varying tastes and textures. The sushi rice deserves special mention actually - fluffy, soft, sticky, perfectly seasoned, and served at just the right temperature. I do however think the prawn wasn't super fresh tasting/smelling.
Service was impeccable. Cups of hot tea were replaced, rather than refilled, before they cooled down too much. Toilet was very clean, came with toto equipment, and had disposable hand towels that can rival a bath towel.
Chef Kawana was friendly, explained every dish, and always repeated himself whenever I missed something he said. He paid attention to my oooos and ahhhhs, so when I asked for additional courses, he was able to create bespoke (massive) sushi stacks comprising all the ingredients I oooo-ed and ahhhhh-ed at.
5 stars to one of my top meals of 2021 (so far)!
Absolutely amazing. Sato-san was such a delight & the service was superb! Needless to say, the meal was excellent.
I enjoyed every single dish/nigiri - even the dessert (homemade ice cream) was delicious! The Shari was so good I had to ask for a bigger rice portion.
Can’t wait to be back!
Tradition will build you but it may also bound you. It can also propel you forward like Hashida san who pushes boundaries in the sacred world of sushi to establish his mastery with creativity, humility and lotsa humor. Congratulations once again on the opening of Hashida and thank you Chef for an enjoyable night beyond excellent omakase, sake and genuine conversation about your world. 🙏🙏🙏
Hashida has been a long time customer and friend of atomi. We are glad to see him doing well. The evolution of Hashida Sushi since his initial days in 2nd floor of Mandarin Gallery, new to Singapore till now has been a joy to see and be part of the journey - Andrew Tan atomi Singapore
Food, experience and service was good overall, only issue was the place is slightly cramp and gets loud when everyone starts talking. They have three rooms so making a reservation does not guarantee you a seat in Chef Kenjiro Hashida’s room, which was definitely disappointing because I was there for the Master himself. Price on the high side but quality of the food does make up for it.
I brought my boyfriend here to celebrate his birthday. The staffs and chefs there are very detailed to attentions and provide great customer services. This is the first Omakase experience my boyfriend has, and I’m glad Hashida has made his first experience impressive.
Had a wonderful experience at Hashida.
With the dining scene being so competitive these days, many places serve great food and fresh sushi but what sets Hashida apart is the excellent service.
Chef Hashida was warm and very personable. He customized the sushi for my child so that she could enjoy every bite. You could see the anticipation in chef’s eyes as he waited for my daughter to give a thumbs up. I also had a great time interacting with him as he shared his childhood stories as a second generation sushi chef.
Another diner was celebrating her birthday. Chef Hashida wrote an elaborate birthday message which required the use of multiple coloured pens on the spot.
The dishes were beautifully put together with incredible attention to detail like his multi-coloured birthday message but it wasn’t pretentious. His persona was reflected in his food. The dishes came across as sincere and authentic.
The chawanmushi with caviar was excellent and the shari in the sushi was as my daughter puts it “the best” she has had. Sushi and sashimi was fresh as expected. I thoroughly enjoyed the pistachio tart they served for dessert which I had thought was quite unusual for a Japanese omakase.
There are places where I’ve had a great time and a great meal but I might not be back for a while. I can’t say the same for Hashida as I’m already planning my next visit.
First of all, Hashida has nice ambience and attentive staff. There is also a good selection of sake.
However… Having been to many Omakase, I was expecting Hashida to bring on a better “performance”. I was sorry to say I left feeling underwhelmed. There was certainly some nice dishes and the portion was hearty but nothing really hits home for me. For $500++/pax (before alcohol), there are better choices.
I would also highly recommend the restaurant to inform the customers if Chef Hatch is not working on the day. I went on a Saturday and a young 2~3yr-experience sushi chef was helming the place instead. Although I am not as traditional to expect a sushi chef to wash dishes and does preparations for 10 years before he can step out, I certainly believe experience brings finesse to the dishes in which a young chef lacks no matter how talented he is. To note, he was teaching another younger staff on the spot, right in front of the customers at the counter. This is actually a first for me, to see “on-the-job education” in a finer restaurant setting. 🤔
***king excellent. They're booked out 6-8 weeks so plan ahead if you want to visit
Not a typical person to review my food, just a photo of the shop. Go experience yourself with no regrets! Highly recommended.
Best Japanese food I have ever had in my life, the experience was above all our expectations and the friendliness of chef Hashida made our dinner even more special! Do not miss out on this amazing restaurant!
