Reviews of Hey Kee HK Seafood
We came by 7pm weekdays and everything was good even peak hour, order is was, food is delicious especially the Salt & pepper giant zebra mantis shrimp very fresh
Saw this place being mentioned several times on TikTok and when I had a relative gathering at the block beside the restaurant I thought why not bring the family and give it a shot, afterall influencer recommendations have been nearly 80% wrong. Thankfully it wasn't so this time. The only dish here that didn't measure up was probably the eggs and shrimp, the egg was pretty bland and I wasn't really expecting a scrambled egg type of dish either. But other that everything else was above average. Not shown in the pics was the radish soup that was packed with ingredients and chunks of pork while having a good hearty flavour. We also had the claypot chye sim with prawns and heybee, this dish was good, it's hard to find chye sim that isn't bitter and tough and this was done almost perfectly. The sweet & sour pork was next and that too was tasty with the right amount sauce to batter ratio where you don't feel like the meat is swimming in broth. Finally we had the claypot tofu with roast pork that was pretty average, the tofu was soft, the sauce had enough taste and the claypot did lend a slight smokey aroma to the dish. However the roast pork lost its crisp perhaps being dunked in the sauce too long. We also ordered their homemade sugarcane drink that came in a jug that was surprisingly refreshing but a tad expensive for the amount we got, it served about only 5 small cups.
Upon stepping onto the doorsteps of the restaurant, the waiters sat us down immediately at a table. We started off with a side dish of prawn balls that looked similar to lychees. These prawn balls were filled with juicy prawn meat and were very delightful. The 2 crabs we ordered, the black pepper crab and the “Typhoon Shelter” stir fried style crab were very fresh and the shells were easy to peel off. The vegetables were juicy and were easy to chew, unlike other restaurants.
The food is really good (more hits than misses). We voted the typhoon lobster, the chicken, sweet and sour pork amongst the winners. My sister who doesn't like pork very much loved the pig stomach soup and that's saying alot!
Service was very efficient and the staff were very attentive. The owner (i think he was the owner) went from table to table to check if everything was alright. They moved us to a private corner for the cake cutting and they didn't rush us to leave. (But it was a weekday)
The vibe was very homey and retro from down to the laofuzi and Stephen Chow poster... i like 😄
👍👍 to another great eatery.
An extension of the yang Ming seafood franchise by way of related partners, this place is another Zhi char joint that focuses on Hong Kong styled dishes, I.e. Cantonese style.
The deco is whimsically Hong Kong Cha chan Teng styled. The green and red colours and retro deco are meant to accentuate the HK vibe. The place provides indoor and outdoor seating, and the indoor area is well ventilated and cooling.
As with the food, initially was a little worried that the food may be served slow. But I stand corrected. The food came out fast and furious after we placed our order. The dishes were indeed savoury. The deep fried sotong, aged grilled chicken, crab bee hoon and claypot kai lan did not disappoint at all. Corkage is free best of all, just as it is so at yang Ming. Service was attentive and brisk.
I think it’s a place you can call your regular go to joint for quality Zhi char.
Portion is just nice, so that we can order more dishes. Recommend you to come and try!
Anna at front is super helpful. Food is good, lychee prawn balls is a good choice. Will def bring friends back to try out their crabs and more HK dishes. Reuben is awesome!
Food is very close to Hong Kong standard, but we find that the typhoon shelter crab is not that authentic. Would be better that it is more garlicky and spicy.
Some hits and misses in the selection we chose. Some lacking the tai pai dong wok hey. If owner can consider using traditional claypot to maintain the sizzle effect pre heat the iron claypots before serving to maintain the heat which was grossly lacking by wok hey standards. The night was made up the attentive service we received.
Excellent food, authentic with old school atmosphere!!! Real Zhi Zhar experience; comfortable seating and friendly Reuben, who treated us to ice cream after we were disappointed that the Hong Kong beancurd was totally sold out!
Attentive Staff, Good Service, comfort food
We came for colleague birthday lunch. To avoid crowd you may make reservations through website.
Cozy and Nice environment, spacious seating layout with Hong Kong style old school round table and chair.
We ordered their signature dish
避风塘螃蟹 (Sri Lankan Crab)
虾干嘟嘟菜心苗 (Huge Dried Prawn)
时日列汤 (Enough for 4 pax)
Signature HK Beer "Blue Girl" is available
香港蓝妹啤酒🍻
Remember to ask the staff for beer promotion 💫
Find the food was alright. No big hype about it. The private room w karaoke requires min spending of $1.5k and another second private requires $1k. The charges on some items are really high.
Was curious why this place is usually crowded, decided to give it a try. Had their signature:
Dried shrimp cai xin - really tasty , veg wasn't overcooked & soggy, good wok hei, but $22 (pretty pricey for veg dish), no harm trying for once 😅
Bi feng tang prawn - prawns fresh, the crispy garlic was superb (few dollars more than cai xin😂)
Fried chicken - well seasoned, not dry 👍
1) The staff and boss were incredibly friendly and accommodating, even offering to help heat up our food while we waited for a friend to join us. Their recommendations were also spot-on.
2) The food itself was enjoyable, earning a solid 4 out of 5 rating, but the portion sizes were a bit small considering the price.
3) The restaurant had numerous photo opportunities, making it a great place for capturing memories.
4) The ambiance was cozy and comfortable, providing the perfect setting for gatherings with friends or family.
5) Overall, it was a positive experience and I would definitely consider returning, although I do wish the portion sizes were a bit larger for the price.
Ordered the 避风塘炒蟹-first time tasted such good one. The crab was meaty and fresh, went well with rice. Also ordered they vege with Sakura prawns- it was flavourful with the pork lard. Lastly, was craving for tofu, and the tofu pot was on point :) - definitely highly recommended and will come again.
Food was really good and seafood didn't fail to deliver!
Yuki who was our server was really endearing and her recommendation of their Signature Crab was such a hit.
I m amazed by their interesting design , so many cute. spots for IG pics . From minibus stop , seafood market, old school barbershop . Their bamboo clams are so fresh & my fav lobsters is so well done . Gonna bring my family again to experience the authentic HK taste & Atmosphere
Absolute gem! Every dish was immense and delicious! Service was impeccable and decor totally nostalgic and reminded of HK.
Good alternative for when you miss HK food. Service is top notch. Highly recommend their seafood porridge and poached pork collar (suan Cai). There’s plenty of photospots as well. Will defo visit again.
Staff Yuki introduced very nice crab. Worth it. Good to book earlier as its fully booked.parking beside Singapore Badminton Hall.
Restaurant was busy on a Friday night, recommend to make reservation thurs - sun night. Relatively easy to get a parking (paid). Overall the food is delicious. There is no dish that we feel its not nice. The staff taking our order was friendly and made some good recommendations. We pre-ordered the roast chicken. It didn't disappoint. Seafood is fresh (steam fish, prawns, clams).
Most of their signature dishes (roast chicken, signature veg) were unfortunately unavailable by the time we arrived (8pm++)
Would give the ambience 5 🌟 as the overall vibes were great and seemingly authentic. They really did a good job with channeling the HK theme.
The dishes, however, were all quite mediocre and lacks the Wok Hey.
Chili crab 🦀 ($98/kg) seems to be the crowd favourite as we saw a number of tables with Chili Crab.
Love the HK decor and super plus point with the food! The fried rice was superb!!! The sweet and sour pork, now also available in two sizes, we ordered the big portion because it was our fav dish and it did not disappoint it was irresistibly crispy. Service is fast and friendly staff added to the fantastic dining experience . Can't wait to return and try more other dishes
Staff name A Tong and Lobster Mei Mei was very friendly and helpful. They serve us like a homely feel and smile with happy face!!!
MUST try food— HK Fried Noodles 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Seafood dishes were good!!!! We had typhoon shelter crabs and salt and pepper mantis prawns. Both were fresh and well cooked. The HK kailan in a Claypot was also sweet. Hard to find vegetables in Singapore that actually taste like vegetables and not water.
Other dishes that were ok soya sauce noodles, sweet sour pork.
Chicken was extremely dry and felt it was cooked much earlier.
Very attentive service and awesome seafood dishes! Dishes too salty to our liking but we have to say the crab mee fen very flavourful and fresh!! The claypot veg must order!
The Food is excellent! Really authentic pi feng tang crab. Reminds me of the taste in Hong Kong! Definitely recommended and will come back again.
The eefu mian, sotong, chicken damn shiok
CHICKEN IS A MUST ORDER
The service is great, all the waiters are so sweet and lovely, the owner is friendly and kind
Come with family and friends
Food is definitely fantastic! Their signature crab tops our chart. The garlic/bread crumbs goes well with the crab, the porridge and even on its own!
They were under-staffed today and we were lucky to have our lala porridge cooked by the laoban! Porridge was flavourful!
Food service was slow, but expected during the CNY festive season. No service charges by this restaurant too!
Portions are big and prices very reasonable. Will definitely come back again!
Really like the vibes of the restaurant, service was prompt and food are nice but pricing of the food is slightly higher side given the portion.
One of the best hk cuisine in SG. Staff were very friendly as well!
We try to order the 风沙鸡 but not available as needs to order in advance cos they only prepared 20+ per day.. okay we come again n try to order in advance.👌😊 Parking shouldn't be a problem.
Decent food. Fresh lobster and crab. Many photo spots.
[22/3/24] My buddies and their families met up for a catch-up dinner. My family 1st visit to this restaurant. Got this HK nostalgic feeling. Got an indoor seating to my buddy early reservation. Hard to get this big table as there are only limited big table. Generally, the food is great. If you take beef, the Pan fried beef tenderloin cubes with potatoes. 2 other dishes I will recommend are the lychee prawn ball and HK style sautéed chives.
Unique setting , for those who miss the feel of HK. Crab was excellent while mantis prawn was a little on the smaller side. Pork stomach soup is recommended. Worth coming again
Delicious food great variety and love the old school retro vibes!
Nice HK decor that serves HK classic dishes. I do find that it’s been tweaked to SG tastebuds , some in a good way, some pales in comparison. The crab is a hit while the HK milk tea is a miss . Despite the manager offering us a replacement cup, I think it’s the tea leaves that is not authentic. Also lacking in the right skills set.
I mean if you are branding as HK eatery, must at least get the most basic and classic thing right, even though it’s just a drink. Hope the management will look into this and improve .
And to the mktg / PR team,, if all our feedback means the world to you, maybe it shows more sincerely if you also take the effort to reply instead of using a template answer. :)
The food is very nice.
We love the crab and the pig stomach soup! Yum yum!
Came here with my family on a weekend, super friendly staffs and good food!
Second time here coz I really love the food. Service was excellent, staffs were friendly too.
Strongly recommend the minced meat eggplant and hot plate pepper beef. Beehoon in the beehoon crab was delicious, but the crab meat was alright only. Typhoon chicken is not bad. Thank you Amelia for the recommendations and warm service. Environment was nice, retro and spacious.
Service is good. the crab is fresh but not sweet.
Food is yummy. Service is excellent, staff members are very smiley ☺️. At ease dining experience. Be early to 'catch' the fresh seafood.
Food is great. Not the usual zichar food you find in Singapore. Love the bi Feng tang styled prawns and crabs. The congee is smooth and flavourful. Beef hor fun and egg fried rice has very good wok key. We love the lobster vermicelli the sauce has a nice peppery taste !!
A restaurant that brings you back to hawker stalls in Hong Kong, retro nostalgic ambience, food are decent, service is rather efficient. Advanced booking is recommended especially on weekends and public holiday eves.
The Hong Kong food here was very good and authentic.
I like all the dishes and my favourite was the Hong Kong Stir Fried Noodles, it is full of Wok Hey and they use the right type of noodles (thin). Stir Fried Chives is full crunchy and aromatic, Salt & Pepper Squid was savoury (a little bit salty to some), and XO Fried Rice is fragrant.
The only downside is their drinks, Yuan Yang Nai Cha (鸳鸯奶茶) is quite diluted & not much coffee & tea smell.
Another great thing about this place is definitely their decoration, it’s based on 90’s Hong Kong Street & Stall, gives you that nostalgia feel.
Price wise, their food can be quite pricey, we didn’t ordered any of their signature seafood just as Lobster, Mantis Shrimp, Alaskan King Crab, Mud Crab and fish. If your budget is high, you can try those seafood because their seafood is all alive.
Have the HK vibe. Nice food. There is live seafood as well, lobsters, big crabs, etc.
Lovely and cosy place with reasonably priced menu and yummy food. Will be back again!
Came here for lunch on a Tuesday afternoon. There were surprisingly a good number of tables around! Ordered their popular temple street crispy roast chicken, mapo tofu, bi feng tang prawns and beef horfun. Most of them are really tasty, they have a live seafood tank at the front so all of their seafood are really fresh! Sadly only get to try their prawns which was would love to visit here again to try out other signature items!
Love the hong kong street aesthetics of this place and the details such as the menu and plates. They even have a private room with karaoke system that can sit up to 3 big round tables!
The surrounding is a great experience filled with HK vibes.
Overall, the E-mian and Bai fan yu will make us have a second visit.
It would be better if there's wok hey in the dishes but the taste is good.
The place looks amazing, all the decor was really on point and I felt transported. Food-wise, their Kai lan was so smoky… super good. Their Feng Sha ji was so tender. Can’t wait to go back again and try out their other offerings!
Great Tze Char seafood dining place. Price is typical restaurant. Will come back again
The lobster was fresh. The crispy crab was great and my family finished everything.
Newly opened zi czar place, and it's well decorated to resemble 80s HK 'dai pai tong'.
The atmosphere was great, and the service was prompt! Food wise, it was also decently delicious (more like regular zi czar). The crab with fried garlic and 'cai po' was quite unique 👍🏼
And there's a private room with a karaoke system, a wonderful place to have a small gathering with good food and sing a song or two!
The food is great, my favourites are the feng sha chicken, seafood porridge and bi feng tang crab! The decor and vibes are 100%, my kids had so much fun dining there. Recommend to make reservations before heading down to reduce waiting time.
Bringing restaurant-level food to the general public in a clean and comfortable environment.
Service by the staff and the boss were amazing and they make sure you are well taken care of.
Steamed fish with yellow chillies is highly recommended.
Well done!
Decoration and environment is nice.
Friendly staff and delicious food and many choices!😍
Is good to have a gathering here!
Service was superb and food is authentic as it can get compared to what I had when I stayed in Hong Kong! Will definitely be back!
Very delicious food, especially the Typhoon Crab!
A truly enjoyable experience and every dish was good. We especially liked the temple chicken, live clams (black bean sauce), and beef horfun. Price was also reasonable and dishes were served promptly. Staff was also friendly and attentive.
Amazing taste, great service. Highly recommended.
Food is nice and nice ambience as well! Will definitely be back to try other dishes.
Best seafood restaurant in the area. You must try the Typhoon Shelter crab and Black Pepper Angus Beef ! Everything else is also tip top. Highly recommend
All the food are nice and fresh. Highly recommend!
Stunning. The typhoon shelter grab was absolutely fantastic!
Food very nice and service very good.....especially Ruben, Christine and Adelene.
Crabs were not fresh as there was a strong ammonia smell and taste! Turbot fish was very expensive.
Overall it's not a value for money option.
Nice food! Love the vibes here
First time here, tried calling them for reservation but no one pick up so I just try my luck on a weekday.
It was full house but thank god I got myself a seat.
The staffs are nice and the boss are very friendly and very nice as well. Attending to us and checking out on us and even ask us not to order too much. 👍🏻
I think this is a nice place to bring your overseas client or have a special occasion dinner.
Overall food was okay.
Serving is not too slow for a full house situation as well.
Got this WhatsApp number for reservation for those who need. ☺️

The food are very delicious, well plated and the vibe of the restaurant are so nice and cool.
it has a very nice atmosphere which gives off olden days vibe and the food here is really delicious especially the squid and the sweet and sour pork
The environment was really comfortable and unique, and the taste of the food was really good as well! Recommend!
very fresh seafood , good food , great atmosphere.
steamed soon hock with chopped yellow chili unique and good. temple roast chicken v soft n tasty. typhoon shelter dish interesting , prawn v fresh. how fun is nice too.
Amazing food! Great service!!
Nice dishes value for money.. Friendly boss that will patiently explain and chit chat with customers
Food overall is good but the serving time still have room for improvement.
The food was a bit salty but overall it was fantastic and I really enjoyed the food overall. I could feel like I was transported to the past. It is really a special experience over here.
A hong kong theme restaurant with nice variety of food… Food is tasty and highly recommended this place for a heart warming session with love ones. The boss is attentive and show genuine care. Love the small attentive touch rendered.
Great food and generous portions. The outdoor seating area is kept cool by fans and the service was fast too
I'm from the meeting on vacation in Singapore, I had a stir-fried beef with noodle, it was delicious.
I recommend.
The seafood is fresh and suits my taste. The service is good
As soon as we entered the restaurant, the waiter immediately took my family to a table that could seat eight people. The service from the waiters was very attentive, but one drawback was that the food came out too slowly. The shrimp balls are slightly springy, and the shrimp meat tastes very delicious and you won't get tired of it at all. The crabs were very fresh and the shells were easy to peel off. The taste of the dish is not strong, easy to bite, and it goes well with rice. Mapo tofu is spicy and spicy, making it a great accompaniment to rice.
The black pepper beef cubes are delicious, and the geoduck sashimi is fresh and delicious.
Yummy food and quick service! Recommend the Typhoon Shelter dishes :)
The food is good and delicious, and overall I feel good eating here.
The service is not very good and needs to be improved.
The decoration is thoughtful and the environment feels good. Surprisingly, vegetarian food is provided.
Vegetarian sweet and sour pork, tomato egg.
Tastes good ;)
