Reviews of Hong Ji Herbs Bak Kut Teh 宏记
Chanced upon this on a rainy Monday and the Herbal BKT soup was warming. For the price, i got 4 pieces of meat which i thought was OK with the fried dough else it wouldn't be sufficient. Chili was good. Was lucky to get a table just b4 the lunch crowd came.
My friend recommended this place, so we decided to try their soup BKT and dry BKT. We waited about 15-20 minutes for our food to arrive. The soup BKT was quite flavorful, and you could even refill your soup at no extra cost. The dry BKT was alright, but I wasn't overly impressed. However, my friend loves the dry BKT.

Had prawn noodles dry ($5) for lunch, was quite good. Portion served was reasonably generous. Staff was friendly. Non Aircon dining area. I'll be back to try their bak kut teh
Finding car park maybe a bit challenging during meal time.
Thankfully, the seats are sufficient. So always there would be table available.
The pork rib soup was served in clay pot. And the clay pot was really hot. And it kept the soup warm. For those who liked their soup hot, this would be the place to go to.
The price could be considered very value for money.
Tried their prawn noodles in the past, was nice too.
Service was fast.
Strongly recommended!!!
We got the herbal Bak but teh and I really liked it. The meat was really tender and flavourful. It’s my first time trying herbal Bak kut teh so I didn’t really have a point of reference but I enjoyed slurping the broth. On the other hand, my friend felt that the broth could have done better in terms of having a stronger herbal flavour. The food was served quickly and service was great. I will definitely be returning again
Your usual hearty BKT ( Herbal version). Good for a nice cold morning. The go to for herbal BKT.
Tried the pork rib prawn noodles. Decent portion. Not the best but not inferior, definitely a pass. Like it that the pork ribs is tender and they thrown in fried pork lard. Prawn is decent size and fresh.
Malaysian style herbal bak kut teh served in claypot. When served, the bak kut teh came piping hot. You can smell a light herbal aroma from the claypot. Herbs blended well together, each sip of the soup was very refreshing. Perfect on a rainy day. Price was quite affordable too.
It's one of our favourite places to eat BKT. We love the dark, murky soup boiling in a claypot, and on a rainy day, it's comfort food at its best.
Imagine herbal, piping hot, and not so peppery soup, and chunks of ribs that peel off from the bone, without being too soft, and tender 'flippy' slices of liver and innards, minus the uriney smell you get from some places selling kidney, and there's little to dislike about this place.
Good food, plus Very Friendly people in service here.
So why did I only give 4 stars? Because parking here is a nightmare. I'm serious, and I mean this! It's not just difficult, it's terrible! I often wonder why anyone would bother to open up So Many food joints in a place with such limited carpark space. Park illegally, and the meal becomes unnecessarily 'expensive'; look for a lot, and end up being hungry and angry, hence that last star's absence...
Went the Springleaf outlet. Enjoyed the food as usual. One of my got to BKT
One of the Best prawn noodle I have.
For a prawn noodle soupe, it is $3.50. I can get 3 large half prawn which is better than other stall that give only 3 small half prawn. The soup base was authentic too. Environment is peace and quiet in morning. Coffee taste good.
Surprised to see that although they are better known for their herbal bak kut teh, they also offer other dishes like prawn mee, braised pork rice and others. The prawn mee soup was very good, they served large prawns and the sliced pork was tender. Soup was flavourful. Braised pork (which we ordered with noodles) was tender. The gentleman who did the cooking was good in service but the lady was atrocious. When she couldn't understand what we were saying in English, she brushed off my daughter angrily, rolled her eyes and walked off to serve other customers. So extremely rude. She should know that not everyone speaks Mandarin. In fact she should learn some English if she wants to serve customers. And not throw such tempers. Four stars for the food and the gentleman. Zero stars for the lady.
Prawn mee was ok but not wow.
Bak Kut teh - herbal soup nice but meat so so.
Lor mee - traditional taste. Would be nicer if there’s chilli and more vinegar in it.
Friendly towkay. Not just good ol' Malaysian style Herbal BKT, but also very decent prawn noodles and yor jee mee sua.
Parking is a challenge during peak mealtimes
Not bad. BKT Soup nice. Prawn mee nice. Lor mee ok, lotsa noodles. Meat in the BKT was ok. You Tiao could be a bit more crunchier.
Got paynow ePay.
Reviewing their hei mee:
Soup or dry, amazing.
The pork slices are so tender.
The soup is so flavourful.
Prawns are sweet, and cut in half to make peeling a bit easier.
If order dry make sure to ask for more chilli.
I do like their bak kut teh also, but for me, the star is their hei mee.
Within reach of Mayflower MRT station, located at the corner of coffee shop. The BKT taste is too bland to my liking - not the taste like those from KL. Overall acceptable, service okay and price is affordable.
Honestly very average Bak Ku Teh that is not very memorable. Soup tends to the salty side. I also ordered the braised small intestine but it wasn't braised long enough and lacked flavours.
Delicious traditional bak kut teh with lots of herbs and generous ribs, served in claypot. Expect a short wait for seat due to SMM but its worth the wait!
Not bad pig tail noodle soup. Pig tail is crewy and soft. Soup not too salty.
Had mee siam omit egg with coconut broth & Mandarin orange drink, very reasonable price. Generous portion.
BKT is as good as the Marsiling branch that I have been patronising for years.
The soup is not as tasty as the outlet at Marsiling. The mixed bkt is a tad salty.
Not the best to be honest, portion is really small even for an average appetite. Service was subpar.
The $4 prawn soup noodles is served with generous quantity of noodles and meat. The prawns are larger than those served in hawker centres. Taste wise is above average for $4 pricing. Parking can be a challenge though as it is a private estate but there is MRT station just in front of the shop.
Good herbal bak kut teh with satisfying spice, they have a wide range of other dishes to accompany the bkt too. Got the pork trotter as well and it was very well done, soft tender meat with not too much fat.
Quick service at 4.30pm. Great place to visit if you’re looking for some Malaysian style BKT around Upper Thomson/ Sembawang. Side dishes cai wei, tau kee, vegetables and a main of pork ribs soup good for 2pax. With two drinks, overall cost for the meal $17.
Had their prawn noodles (dry) during the afternoon. The wait was not too long and the food was pretty good.
The prawns were fresh and the serving was generous. The soup was very unique as well.
Surprisingly the food was above expectations.
Price reasonably as well
Had prawn mee bkt pig trotters
Ordered the herbal pig kidney soup with rice. Soup is fragrant but the taste is quite sour. Pig kidneys are shrunken and rather tough and there are only a few small pieces in the soup.
Nice claypot herbal bak kut tea
Very high CP-valued local cuisine restaurant. Each main dish only costs 5-6 SGD, signature dish is the claypot bak kut teh.
First time. Tried the claypot bak kut teh and braised pork. Delicious.
The place was very small but the food was so nice I definitely recommend the bak kut teh noodle soup/soup
The bkt soup standard is not consistent. Sometimes OK sometimes damn salty.. 卤肉 is not bad
I like it because it is like malaysia flavor. Not the peppery type
Nice food at decent prices. Great service too. Prawn noodles and bak kut teh lovers. Must try! 👍👍👍
I like the herbal type of bah kut teh. Small portion just nice for 1 pax.
Malaysian style BKT. Taste is good, but get thirsty because of MSG.
Most times it's good, but occasionally the soup can be a little too salty
It's my first time trying this food ☺️
Really I enjoyed the food👌
Taste really good🔥
The bah kut teh was average. Side dishes were average too.
Food order came fast not bad .Can try

I ordered assorted bak kut teh, tofu skin, fried dough sticks and braised pork noodles. They tasted very good and I will come again next time. The uncle who served me was also very nice and polite.
