Reviews of Il Piccolo Pizzeria
Ordered the beef lasagna and baked seafood rice for $17.
Both dishes exceeded my expectations! The lasagna was incredibly cheesy, and the baked seafood rice was packed with ingredients, including three large prawns. Definitely worth the price!
Stall is located in a kopitiam which I feel the kopitiam need some further cleaning.
Food wise, pasta was soft. Pizza was so so and seafood bake rice was average.
But the boss was nice after all.
The beef lasagna was nice. It was topped with some creamy and melty cheese.
My son's Hawaiian pizza was okay. It could have had less cheese and more sauce in it. I'll make that request next time we go. Both went $15.50 so it was pretty good.
Usually orders pasta, patronize for years. Always good standard.
1) crepe with chicken and mushrooms in tomato cream sauce
2) linguini bolognese
Tried pizza yesterday but personally the crust is ok, not my idea of pizza, and undercooked in the middle.. lots of cheese and too little tomato.. no basil for the pizza Margherita.
Amazingly extensive pasta and pizza menu for a hawker stall, including gnocchi, puttanesca, crispelle, tiramisu and more! I tried the gnocchi with mushrooms and tomato cream sauce - taste was good, mushrooms were skimpy but for $7-8, it was still a good deal. Sadly, the atmosphere is horrible - dirty, poorly maintained coffee shop with many drinkers. Take-away may be a better option.
This stall has been around for ages, despite the high turnover of foodstalls around tpy central. I like the aglio olio fusilli from here, I usually order with just mushrooms. It’s consistently fragrant & tasty. I literally stopped eating aglio olio from other food courts. The $2 tiramisu is also good for the price. The current owner is a nice, hardworking fella, single-handedly holding up the fort for many years already!
No frills. Cheap & decent 'italian' food . For the price, you really cannot nip pick much. Pasta was overcooked a little. Service was quick regardless.
Beef lasagne was great. Also tried their pastas before, favorites are Peri-peri chicken spaghetti and salmon penne. Reasonable price and good quality all-around!
Edit: just tried their no.34 pasta: Gamberetti Pasta. I honestly think this is the best pasta I have ever eaten. The sauce is creamy tomato with lots of garlic. The prawns and iceberg lettuce somehow is a perfect combo, and the spaghetti was cooked to perfection. This is now my fav pasta of all time!
Lasagna, Gnocchi and Pizza 👍👍👍 .. added a Tiramisu afterwards 😁
Good portion and reasonable price.
Food quality and choices are also good.
Self service.
Waiting time might take longer than expected.
Been coming here since the outlet was beside SPH. Favorite all these years has been the salmone penne pasta (I usually change the penne to linguine). Sauce is creamy pink and goes very well with the smoked salmon slices. Uncle will ask if you want it hot, go for it, it really oomphs up the flavour!!!!!
Affordable and very generous with their toppings on the pizza, very filling indeed. Staff was polite as well!
One of my go-to places for hawker stall pizza for many years. Don't expect gourmet level pizzas but what this stall delivers is decent good tasting pizzas (gooey cheese) which are good value for the price vs many other stalls. I usually order the Margherita pizza or the 4 cheese.
The peri peri chicken spaghetti is also good & spicy. The gnocchi is a bit rich for me but other people love it.
The Chinese stall owner has been running the business for many years, very chatty & friendly.
If you have not tried, do try.
got beef lasagna and carbonara pasta, very worth the money, very filling as well. paid about $7 for each. the uncle working there was really nice and worked fast. 10/10 would come back again
Strongly recommend the pizzas, tomato based pastas, and gnocchi.
The Parma ham pizza and four cheese pizza.
Might seem pricey for it's location, but it's value for money for the quality.
very good pasta especially the carbonara. owner uses proper heavy cream which you don't find at too many places nowadays. the bacon is crisp too. super hardworking owner who is always friendly. also good for takeaway if you're not in the area regularly. location is convenient, across the road from the HDB shophouse area behind HDB Hub.
Pasta is very very good at this price point. I haven't come across any other coffee shop stalls that serve pasta of this quality. I've been a fan ever since their original location opposite SPH.
I made my first order yesterday on foodpanda for 1 diavola pizza and 1 vegetarian pizza. The reason I comment here is because I cant even leave a review in app which is disappointing. Diavola pizza was translated into 牛肉披萨 in app meaning beef pizza but it looks rather like a regular prosciutto pizza. Salami on top taste like pork, maybe its a blend but you cant name yourself beef pizza, not even close. Comment from foodpanda support was like they can see this is beef. Felt like being scammed. Vegetarian pizza was bland the only flavor is the pineapple. Sorry for the negative comment, I know you cant expect much for 21.99 dollars but at least dont name yourself 牛肉披萨 on foodpanda which will create disappointment to customers :)
Really great food at this price in a food court! I have been a regular customer at this store for a long time and have never been disappointed by the quality of the food.
Very nice pizza. The dough base is chewy and not too thick. The size is about a personal pan pizza. My go-tos are the BBQ chicken and Spinaci. A convenient takeaway pizza spot.
Love the Carbonara ($7.50) here
Such a very very very fantastic owner, so kind, and would always make you a custom pizza. And the pizza is so good, and delicious. Seen the owner multiple times during travels, and he is so kind. 5 out of 5 would definitely recommend.
very very good carbonara for this price range. so surprised to find good quality in coffee shop. stall has been around long time.
Good service! I love it.
Highly recommend the carbonara pizza 🍕.
Reasonable price for the quality of food. Pasta is well cooked, and the owner is friendly
Love the lasagna, baked rice .. the taste consistently great and value for money..
