Reviews of Jia Li Seafood Soup (Holland Village)
Grabbed food for dinner. Ordered their seafood with batang fish. The soup was not as tasty as I would expect. There were 2 Prawns and were fresh. Several slices of fish which I find it fresh too.
Very expensive fish soup, maybe because it is in Holland Village.
Pro : different fish type to choose from - Dory (cheapest), Batang (mid range) and Grouper (the priciest)
Con : 1 bowl of rice costs $1 !!
Not for the weak hearted.
Also if u go there during lunch, choose your seats carefully, as sitting outside is very hot despite having fans. Better to sit indoors.
My brother and I just had our satisfying meal over there. Ordered Big grouper soup and white cabbage with 2 rice. The broth is yummy, suit our taste. We will definitely come back again.
5⭐️ for the fish soup. Super flavourful but on the expensive side. $8.90 for the original small batang fish soup excluding the carb. Pairs well with instant noodles. Coffee shop is a trip hazard though. Lots of stairs to manoeuvre around.
I ordered the Red Grouper Fish Soup (Big) ($14.50) that comes with minced pork. The soup was really flavourful and has a rich seafood taste. The ingredients were fresh and generous too. Overall it’s a very hearty bowl of soup, and perfect for rainy cold weather 👍🏻😄
Stumble across this shop. The soup is mild . Personally to my taste, i don’t like it too heavy which is awesome for me. The prawns are fresh and big. Dory fish are tender and not overdone. Suggestion to eat it better. Do not add noodle in the soup. Get a separate bowl for the noodle so you can better taste the soup. I added mee sua in the soup, which in the end cover quite abit of the seafood soup taste. Overall like the portion and taste. I will definitely come back again as the stall keeper is friendly and accommodating.
I‘ve tried the fish soup and the dory seafood soup. Both are great! The ingredients are very fresh.
There was a long waiting time and the cashier staff was quite hostile. Anyways quite a disappointment in the portion size, added extra for the portion of fish egg and wow the portion was almost 😓🫠
Flavourful broth, koka noodles combo is just comfort food at its best!
This is the best seafood soup I have EVER had! I ordered the red grouper and crayfish version (without pork). Ingredients were fresh, soup flavourful, and cooked to perfection! Will definitely go again!
PS. Not loving the coffee shop though.
Okay la auntie not rude just frustrated cause very busy. Food was amazing but my gf say Fu Nan one better
Tasty but price on the higher side. This bowl costs $16.50.
Came here 2nd time for their fish soup it’s tasty and very filling with mince meat.
(This part is solely for the coffeeshop owner to see hence the one star) BUT !!! Again it’s set in a coffeeshop environment what the F you wanna tell my daughters no outside food and drinks allowed?? You guys know why the rule in the first place a not ??
One of the best Batang Fish/Dory Fish Noodle Soup I've had nationwide, besides the now defunct Mr Fish
The soup is made from brewing bones unlike those stalls that add milk to their broth
The saving grace to Holland Village eatery scene. Nothing imat the hawker centre just across it comes close
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ⭐️⭐️⭐️
The soup is savoury, fish and prawn also fresh. Worth to try. Their staff also very friendly
I normally don't like seafood soup because it's always quite thin and bland, but this was delicious!
Got the big batang fish soup. Generous amounts of fish and really tasty meatballs, only two prawns but they were big, juicy, and sweet. The soup itself has the strength and heartiness of something like hakka yong tau foo or a good pao fan broth.
Enjoyed it tremendously. Will definitely be coming back regularly to support!
Enjoy their signature seafood soup. Like the freshness of seafood and the minced meat is very tasty! Will visit more often if is Air-con environment.
Awesome seafood soup, the fish slice and prawns was so fresh .
Both staffs service was nice and friendly.
Good for drinking
soup was delicious and the ingredients are nicely portioned! recommend the seafood soup :)
Delicious Batang Fish Soup. Braised duck is good but maybe more tender would have been better
Nice and tasty seafood soup, definitely will come back for more again.
Great tasting comfort food!
