Reviews of Jing Hua Xiao Chi Singapore
Sorry didn’t take any photos.
We had ZJM noodles. Reasonable priced and taste wise was not too bad.
For the pan-fried dumplings, personally I felt they were not too bad.
The spinach veg n the hot sour soup, not my favorite.
Great food! Fast service! Just a lil disappointed there was no tsingtao.
Standards have dropped and service standards as well. Waiter didn’t bother to ask when dessert should be served , and dishes came out so fast that it felt like they were rushing you to eat faster and go. Dessert was served when we were not even half way done with the main dishes.
Hot & sour soup can’t compete with the one at Chinatown complex. And xiao long bao seems to be missing something... Just didn’t make me want to come back for more.
Love the steamed dumplings! Previously tried the fried one but still preferred the steamed version. Chinese pizza was also nice 👍
Will come again
If you want to try something other than XLB, check out @jinghuaxiaochi which specialises in different types of dumplings such as Steamed Vegetarian Dumplings ($8), Pan-fried Mixed Seafood & Pork Dumplings ($9) or the Rosemary & Cheese Pan-fried Pork Dumplings ($4).
It’s been a while since I had them but Chinese Pizza ($11) is still one of their must-haves. The savoury pan-fried pastry is stuffed with seafood, minced pork and chives which helps to cut the oiliness.
Ok food, not too bad. A little pricey. Pancake is nice.
I and friends of mine went here at lunch time at the weekend.
We ordered famous Xiao Long Bao, Steamed Vegetarian Dumplings, Pan-fried dumplings and the red bean pancake with soup and beer.
Each of them is so delicious yet reasonable.
I recommend this place for any types of groups.
must try: red bean mochi pancake, chinese pizza, panfried seafood and pork dumplings 😍
can give it a pass (okay taste): siew mai and xiao long bao 😞
staff very friendly and kept checking in with us to see if everything was okay (maybe because we went at a not so crowded time of 6.30-7 pm) 😊
we also ordered chinese tea but it was barely even warm so a bit disappointing on that initially but we asked to make it hot and the staff did so that’s alright…
over all just a normal eatery, not fancy but food was good and environment was clean. toilet was also clean.
We love everything here from the juicy xiao long bao to the Chinese Pizza with juicy and sweet meat inside crispy dough to the hot and sour noodles which was chunky and the red bean pancake.
Definitely worth a visit!
Prices are affordable too as compared to other similar Chinese restaurants such as Paradise Dynasty and Ding Tai Feng.
Good place for fried or steam Xiao long bao. Their Shanghai pancake with red bean is the attraction here. Fried rice is so so but can order if kid want to eat rice.
$9 for 10 pan fried seafood mix pork dumpling and $3.50 for a small bowl of sour and spicy soup (before gst and tax)
I would say the soup is rather expensive for a small rice bowl size without much ingredient. Dumpling is juicy but taste rather normal nt crispy enough also. Can get better ones at maxwell.
Nothing to shout about. Was a little overwhelming after a few bites. We also requested for the crispy red bean pan cake to be serve after our other food, but everything came one shot. The crispy red bean pan cake isn't crispy and it tasted burnt.
As they were closing and we were still eating, the lady boss practically walk over and ask "pack the remaining for you?" I mean if you want to close on time, then don't welcome customers nearing closing time x.x
Wasn't a good experience unfortunately. Food wasn't that great either. I still prefer Din Tai Fung's Xiao Long Bao.
Great place for dumplings. Their fried rice has a great wok hey flavour and works well as a main.
Tried:
Chinese pizza: the crispy crust complemented the meat filling. Most of the table ordered this.
Seafood dumpling: my favourite out of everything
Pan fried seafood dumpling: the skin is rolled around the meat unlike the usual. It has a nostalgic taste and abit different from those you get outside.
Xiao long bao: not a fan of this.
Zha jiang mian: saw many people ordering this so decided to try. Nothing to shout about
Braised pork noodles: overall their noodle dishes are just quite normal. Won’t order again
Jing hua fried rice: decent plate of fried rice. Goes well with chilli
Rosemary cheese dumpling: super weird combination but worth trying if you are in for something different.
Red bean pancake: crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside. The red bean paste is not too sweet.
Special shout-out to the staff there. Service was really good and they are all attentive and helpful. Will be back again!
The dumplings are gooooood~ ❤️ I like the fried ones better because it’s slightly crunchy🌝 The Zha Jiang Mian is good too!
Authentic and fragrant :D Had a good dinner w my family (I really wanna know their recipe for the cucumber and radish cold dish)
Dishes were okay. Really liked their 三鲜锅贴. Service was not bad but nothing to applaud for.
Service is quick
I had the dumpling pancake and traditional dumplings. It was a satisfying meal. On busy days you’d need to eat and get out.
fried dumplings were outstanding - must order and have while it's hot
Small plates. Good prices. Pretty good food. Good for a quick bit. The jasmine tea is really good.
Food was average, Chinese pancake and pan fried dumplings was the best on the menu. Its worth a try if u are in the area but its not a place you would go out of your way for.
Light and easy food. Like mom’s cooking ❤️
Wasn't as great as I've expected.. Still decent but not a refine dumpling restaurant. There are many better ones.
Very delicious foods I like their xiaolongbao, dumplings, pancakes and hot n sour soup!
Saw a review on the zha jiang noodle at this place and decide to try. Have been here few years back but found nothing special. Ordered the zha jiang noodle, dumplings and chrysanthemum tea. Food was ok, nothing to rave about. Service was not good, Chrysanthemum tea came last, almost when I am done with the food and without cup and they had to go back and bring a cup. Thought tea should be easily prepared and come before the food. Guess they miss out. When payment they billed me for additional iced beer which they took out after I highlight to the cashier. No smile no apologies and seems like this happened often as she showed no surprise also. Please check your bill when visiting this place.
I've handpicked some fantastic restaurants in Singapore to revisit with my friends, and this place is definitely one of them. It's our third time here, thanks to a strong recommendation from a friend. While it's not your typical dim sum joint, their dumplings are simply irresistible. Our favorite is their fried dumpling, but I personally can't get enough of their signature steamed dumpling, my friends swears by their Chinese pizza. Once again, this place didn't disappoint. I couldn't be happier to have shared this delightful experience.
Good place for Chinese food. Good for family.
Perfect venue for a dumpling-forward lunch with a large number of friends or colleagues, though quality has declined slightly as of late.
Liked:
- Gyoza, fried, steamed or boiled. A no-brainer to get.
- Chinese pizza. That's literally what they call it on the menu. Get.
- Red bean pancake. The ninth heaven of oily, sweet desserts.
Ambivalent
- Their noodle dishes are alright at best, but can tend to be overcooked.
- XLB. There are better places to get your fix. The ones here are a little bland.
Authentic chinese dumplings that were packed with seafood, meat and vegetables.
Must get dishes are the cheese and rosemary dumplings, as well as the xiao long baos
My second time here after a few years. Food was great as i remembered it. Although, it's one of those restaurants where you get ignored or just stared at when you enter. maybe because i don't look like and speak Chinese? I can't be 100% sure but it's the second time that this happened to me at the same place. When i entered i had to be the first to greet the staff instead of one of them greeting me, the customer and even then they just continued to stare at me until i asked for a table for four then one of them dismissively pointed to a table and said "There, four." I sat, to wait for my companions. None of the staff offered me a menu or asked if i wanted a glass of water or a drink. Again the food is good but it's not that good for me to tolerate such treatment. I frankly would've left immediately if not for one of my dining companions wanting to eat at this restaurant specifically.
Great dumpling house and Chinese food. Must rry the soup dumplings as they were amazing.
Pretty normal yummy dumplings.
Just the most basic is enough, especially the outstanding Guo Tie. The downer has to be the main waiting person, tried to take away our plate even before we finish.
Enjoyed the variety of dumplings, fried spring rolls, fried rice, and tang yuan. The fragrant chili sauce is a highlight! However, didn't quite get the sweet zhajiang mian, the sour and spicy soup was overpowered by preserved Sichuan cai, and the red bean pancake was more chewy than expected.
This was a delivery order which was packed immaculately. See a lot of pride taken in the food.
These dumplings are made with a variety of fillings, including pork, shrimp, and vegetables. They are served with a dipping sauce made with soy sauce, vinegar, and chili peppers.
Pretty good xiao long bao and the service was good. Have to pay extra for a pot of tea; 1S$ for Chinese tea or 2S$ for chrysanthemum tea.
Very very good for the price. Will be back again and again
Jing Hua Xiao Chi Singapore is a hidden gem that offers mouthwatering and affordable Chinese street food, leaving you craving for more of their delectable dumplings and pancakes.
Okays for family and gpodsmal and big alsofineanyday.
For sat.is good for 10 and 20 ppl.
So give it a try.
Fiding the chinese eatery maybe not convenient
firsttime.
Youll be Back for more
price average;
service okays
waiters re quite okays
Ambience *air conned
Okays so so
If you like wooden* tables and comfy for7to 8 in oneround table
So get 2 tables for 14pax.
Can be formal if you like dressing pretty and
casual is the in word here
Signature Red bean pancake, fried dumpling and hot&sour soup is a must try!
Affordable pricings.
I think the xlb here is still pretty tasty, but somehow the fresh delicate sweetness of the stock is gone. The potstickers are still pretty decent, nicely fried.
Food was really good, especially the Guo Tie and Chinese Pizza, though selection can be wider. They do charge for plain water so it’s more worth it to get tea or something...
Some food was uncooked. Overall food okay
Had the ‘Chinese pizza’, Xiao Long Bao & rosemary cheese Guo tie. Food is delicious and reasonably price.
2nd gen owner, trying hard to make business work. I like that its modernised & some new dishes has been added. Old but Gold...
Try before the food is normal but i like the environment. The location is easy to find.
so so
Old school Zha jang mian. Clean and nice environment. Good service from the staff
Amazing craftsmanship!! Best in town! Thank you so much!!❤️❤️❤️
Great food but expect huge crowds, booking is advisable.
Been here last over a decade ago and the food is still as good.
So delicious.
Shrimp tempura is not recommended (tempura batter is too thick)
Jjajangmyeon is also said to be a representative dish, but it is not recommended.
Sha Long Bao!
The rest of the menu was very delicious.
Vegetable dumplings, pizza dumplings, and red bean pancakes are highly recommended.
A place I really want to visit again!
Never order fried shrimp!!
This is the place to go for xiaolongbao and gyoza, a Japanese purveyor.
You can enjoy juicy xiao long bao and dumplings that will satisfy you at an affordable price.
If you go with a group of 4 to 6 people and share a lot, you'll get a good variety of food.
If you are two ladies, you will be satisfied with about 3 dishes.
The variety of alcoholic beverages has increased, and gyoza has become a better snack for evening drinks.
However, the store closes early, and the store staff goes into closing mode about an hour before closing, so it might be a bit unsatisfying to chat with friends.
In that case, move to Tampaga Road and browse the bars and dessert shops.
<Toilet>
It's in the store.
Like everyone else, they will come after watching Seong Si-kyung's What to Eat.
I ordered xiao long bao, dumpling pizza, and beef fried rice. In fact, the fried rice was the most delicious, and the xiao long bao didn't taste like anything else.
In fact, I thought it would have been better to eat at the Maxwell Food Center right after.
You can think of dumpling pizza as literally a fried dumpling with a bit of crispy skin. It's not just an exceptional taste. It's just dumplings. The fried rice was delicious for me, but I am writing a review because I don't think I would recommend it if you want to take the time to visit.
There are many more delicious places, so don’t waste your time, energy, or money and have a nice trip!!
A nice little restaurant. The pot stickers are quite unique. They are fried to a crispy texture without being too hot on the mouth. You can put them in your mouth as soon as you pick them up. This is thanks to your restaurant's unique wrapping method. The taste is very good, the inside is moderately fat and thin, and it is worth a try. I really like the taste of hot and sour soup, it's not too sour and has just the right amount of spiciness, which I like. The skill of cooking the fried rice is good, and the wok is powerful enough, but it's a pity that it lacks some green beans and carrots to complement it. The waiters are attentive and quick. Thumbs up!
A very delicious Shanghai restaurant with delicious xiaolongbao. The dumpling meat is huge and very generous.
The fried shrimp balls are very fresh. The shrimps seem to be dancing in your mouth when you eat them. It feels like the sea. It goes well with mayonnaise. Don’t underestimate ordinary mayonnaise. Fresh and good shrimps are always delicious.
The cheese pot stickers have a very special taste. There are only four of them and they are a bit unsatisfying. You can order more.
Crispy fried tofu, the tofu is as tender as a girl's breasts (hate it) How can you have such tender tofu? Boss, please share your unique secrets, please
The siomai is different from the yellow siomai that can be seen everywhere in Singapore. It has white skin and it seems that no food coloring is added. 10 points for a conscientious company!
The drinks are all served with a pot of tea, which is very atmospheric and will definitely not make you thirsty. People who talk a lot don’t have to worry about getting thirsty.
The bean sprouts are also very fresh, like they have just been picked. The leaves are green and the stems are tough. It feels very healthy to eat them. Most Singaporeans don’t like to eat green vegetables. Remember to have green leaves with every meal for healthy and smooth bowel movements.
Finally, the rose glutinous rice balls are so high-end. The soup tastes like eating fresh roses. It’s great! The glutinous rice balls are made with sesame, peanuts and red beans. You can eat all the flavors at once and your wishes will be fulfilled at once!
I had lunch at a restaurant in Ebisu a long time ago and it was delicious, so I visited here in Singapore as well. I think restaurants in Singapore are more like cafeterias than restaurants.
Since I was alone, I couldn't order much, so I ordered xiaolongbao and keikayu maru. The xiao long bao is lighter and I prefer it to a certain famous restaurant. I don't like very meaty foods and didn't think they would taste good even in Taiwan, but I can eat this normally.
Keikayumaru is a cold dessert made with osmanthus syrup containing sesame dumplings. The syrup is not too sweet and has the same scent as osmanthus. When you break the sesame dumplings, a thick black sesame paste comes out from inside, which is delicious. I'd like to try more food next time I go.
Came here after going for a massage in Chinatown. I came here because I don't like Sichuan cuisine.
Perhaps because of the coronavirus pandemic, there were no Japanese people, only local people. Everything was delicious, but I missed the fried gyoza so I want to go again.
It seems like there are a lot of people coming and going and there are a lot of deliveries. It was a popular store.
