Reviews of Kian Seng Seafood Restaurant
Simple no frills Tze Char place.
Had their crabs previously and it was very shiok. This round we decided to try other dishes.
Venison was damn nice, thick and tender.
Indo curry prawns - sedap and best to pair with rice. Their prawns were fresh and crunchy as well
Herbal chickens was succelent, great soup as well
Steamed fish - fresh, nice. Simple
Sweet & Sour Pork was a letdown. Read so much reviews saying must try but i felt its a very normal aka bad dish. Soggy and soft, no where near the expectations.
Great place for seafood, all dishes were fresh and cooked to perfection.
The best part- total bill was a shock as it was way cheaper than what we thought. Will be back for more.
Another dinner with order of chilli crab, pepper crab, drunken prawn, sweet and sour pork, sambal Kang kong and fried rice. Best dish is chilli crab 👍👍
Nice suckling pig and steamed fish head. Has been visiting this eatery monthly.
2nd visit in April: Suckling pig, hor fun, fried rice and prawn were delicious. The fish head failed badly as we didn't order it in advance for then to defrost it.
3rd visit in May: The fish head is lousy even though advanced booking was made. Suckling pig is still the best.
4th visit in Jan 24. The Soon jock fish was fresh and cooked just right. Suckling still at its best here.
5th visit today, 22 Mar 2024. Additional dishes like sambal Kang Kong, fried chicken, Orh Nee and hot plate tou foo. All are delicious including those repeated orders below.
Suckling pig, fried rice, hot fun and drunken prawns is still good to eat.
Highly recommended
Had a family dinner here. Food is very good and value for money. Seafood very fresh too. Ordered all these dishes for $235+. Most expensive was the half roasted pig $125. May be a coffee shop but quite windy and not hot. Will definitely be back again.
1st time try out the food is tasty & value of money. A few dishes are recommended like sambal Kang kong, sweet & sour pork, beancurd with pork & preserved vegetable, Herbal chicken, Yam Ring & golden cereal prawn. With definitely come back to try other dishes.
Me and my wife was scouting for a great crab place around amk. This shop did not disappoint me at all. Even tho we did not order crab ( because we wanted to test those other dishes first) we will definitely be back for the crab.
Had pre-lunar new year dinner here on 20 Jan 23 with friends. Super good value for money, seafood is fresh . As part of the package, they served jelly for dessert, on hindsight would have requested for yam paste with gingko nuts. You can choose the table location when you make a booking. I was impressed the food came out pretty fast considering there were a 100 tables for the night. Complimentary valet service by the restaurant. Only $698 a table for all that food!
Relaxed atmosphere. Despite the full house, service was prompt and food arrived fairly quickly. Food was prepared well. The carpark valet service was a plus indeed.
The $80+ crab was huge, full of eggs and very fresh. The mantous were had an almost crispy skin and soft white insides. The kai lan was yummy, not old, soft not chewy. The cereal prawns were large and fleshy. Overall, definitely a recommend. Only thing is the chilli crab gravy loses out to the one at Casuarina Rd.
Cheap and serviceable food. Good for a gathering of friends without breaking the bank. Parking is convenient and tables aplenty. Beer is the go to reason. Anything else is just icing on the cake
4.5 stars. Been wanting to eat here and we regretted not coming here earlier. Came at 5 plus in the evening on a weekday and there was no crowd. Ordered sweet and sour pork, hokkien noodles and kai lan with salted fish. The dishes arrived quickly. The sweet and sour pork wowed us, succulent, crispy and juicy, with pieces of pineapples and tomatoes. The other dishes were delicious too and the portions were huge. Love the vegetables, very fresh and crunchy, with fragrant pieces of salted fish. The noodles were nicely done with wok-hei. Belacan chilli was good and spicy. Would definitely return to try the other dishes!
It is a ordinary food court, plenty of seats available. The food tasted average, nothing standing out. Overall, it is a decent place for dinning.
Love the food from this Tze char. Have ordered for pick up and delivery but not tried the dine in.
Food is constantly good - fried seabass, Nonya assam seabass, cereal prawns, cereal crayfish, chilli crab, pepper crab, coffee pork ribs all good! Even my old granny loves it!
Service is also awesome. The aunties serving at the restaurant are always helpful and even though I request for multiple items one at a time like chilli chopsticks, sauces, they always help gather the items with a genuine smile.
Another plus point is a 5% discount for every return order.
Can’t wait to try their other dishes and hopefully try all items on their menu!
For those who didn’t know. You be surprising that this well-liked seafood restaurant hide inside an Industrial Estate at Ang Mo Kio.
Kian Seng Seafood Restaurant @ 4013 Ang Mo Kio Industrial Park 1 #01-450 (Food Centre) S(569629)
Nice Chinese Cuisine • Live Seafood • Signature Nonya Curry Fish Head •
Also provide catering and delivery services for event.
Try it next time you came to Ang Mo Kio.
Kian Seng hor fun still the best w/fresh seafood. Portion is huge eventhough @ $5.50 with or without takeaway. Has been eat in KS before Covid.
ordered a prawn paste chicken and salted egg crab
prawn paste chicken is average, prawn paste taste is not strong . but chicken served hot
salted egg crab - too much butter taste , cannot taste salted egg . too much overwhelming sauce of butter milk . crab is fresh and meat is soft and easy separate from shell
overall price- $83
The food is not the best zi char out there but definitely very decent and has a home cooked feel. Not too oily or salty and we were very happy with every dish.
Curry fish head was good. They tried to promote their more expensive red grouper but we had sea bass instead which was already very fresh, moist and well cooked.
Only thing is because this place is absolutely so big, it is hard to get someone when you need something or want to order.
I was there on Sat with two other friends. We ordered spinach in superior stock, golden cereal prawn, salted kampong chicken, a chilli crab with 6 mantous and orh nee with ginko nuts. The place was under-staffed and was packed with customers, hence we waited quite a while (1) before being directed to the reserved table and (2) for our dishes to be served. The food was average, nothing exceptional.
Operated by a couple, serving lunch, not noticeable at this canteen, located near Eunos Industrial.
Ordered for a portion for 2 烧腊鸡饭、reasonable at $10.
Crabs are big and meaty but rather expensive overall. Chill crab sauce was not spicy. However the place is spacious. It was also crowded when I was there on Sunday night.
Good food at reasonable price. Love the roast pig. Atmosphere is old school industrial rustic feel
The pork ribs herbal Italian is good. Prices are reasonable. Food is yummy!
Great place with very nice food. Also not too hot due to the amount of fans they have here! However, its very crouded so food are served very slowly
Food is nice and the price is reasonable. The crabs and fishes are very fresh too.
Very big place but food still comes out quickly. My fav is their italian pork ribs!
Went for reunion dinner food was awesome and their durain roll was heavenly
Affordable ulyummy and well recommended 👌🏽
Cheap and good seafood. Coffee shop style but the taste is delicious. Worth to try.
Please check your bill. We only ordered 2 bowls of rice but they billed us for 4. We spent $125 for 4 people (5 dishes and 1 soup)
Decent restaurant in AMK ave 10 market ! Seafood fried rice very gd !
Went on a Sun, 6pm. Suckling pig was good, overall food was a bit too salty for my liking. Very crowded and may be difficult to find parking around.
Had a delightful meal at Kian Seng restaurant. The garlic prawns, crab with glass noodles, and asparagus were authentically delicious. Service was fast and the pricing is fantastic - great value without breaking the bank. A small note: would love if the prawns were slit half for easier eating and enhanced flavor. It can get a bit warm, so evening visits are recommended. Eager to return and sample more dishes!
Good quality is quite fantastic. The only down side is that the place is so hot. Even with the shelter and the fans, I had to drink down 2 cans of coke with ice to feel better. But I will definitely recommend the suckling pig from here. It is outstanding.
Love fried Thai cod fish and sambal kangkong
I did a pick up for big group.
Take away food at value prices.
Food still taste good despite it being takeaway.
Collection is swift and not crowded.
Like lemon chicken and claypot noodles
Quality still good when it was crowded with CNY customers...
Normal day zhichar still good, except presentation needs improvement.
Visited on a weekday night.
Food was good. Their steamed fish was well cooked and the vermicelli crab was pretty addictive.
Loud, crowded, very difficult to get service... But, for the price, it's actually quite good.
We sat waiting for the server wed flagged down to come take our group's order when the table next to us, rage quit, yelled at the staff and stormed off!
Our big group looked around, had we made a bad choice coming here?
But then, our server took our order and food started to arrive. It was ok, pretty good even. Very filling, all quite decent. We ordered a lot of food...
But then the bill came, we paid and realized we'd only spent $12 Per person. You read that right... Twelve dollars a head.
All is forgiven, really decent food for that kind of money.
The people who left, actually missed out.
A hidden gem in an industrial area and serve really affordable suckling pig and Buddha jumps over the wall. The simple dishes that we always eat at zichar stalls are all here. Hope it stays true to its zichar style and keep food affordable for all!
Nice Zi char such as roasted pig, shark fin and steam fish!
Nice place for casual drinking and for family's dinner or company group gathering. Price reasonable and ample sitting space. Weekend will be more crowded.
Was there for dinner due to the 7th mth celebrations. food portion is good, fresh nd tasty. My parents like this restaurant and we have been hearing about this restaurant since young. do support to keep the tradition going.
I came here over few occasions always ordered their signature dishes. This time just pick few dishes from the menu. All turn out good if not better than other restaurants. The fried baby squid is one of the better one. Ordered a deep fried sea bass HK style. We thought is $28/kg but it was $28 for the fish. Good value.
Went there for their Kueh chap, nice and the portion is big not like others Kueh chap seller. Thumps up!
Industrial canteen. Food not too bad. Great for dinner
Long heard about the stall and finally decided to call to order my takeaway. The staff over the telephone was extremely polite and patient considering it was peak hour on a Sunday evening. Was provided with great recommendations. Food when collected was piping hot and my family enjoyed it at home.
Will definitely return for a meal at the stall!
Fantastic staff and great value!
Very Busy on weekends. Almost full house at dinner time. Dishes i order is good and the portion sufficient for 10 persons. Might need to self service sometimes if u can't wait. cos under staff.
Traditional Hokkien tzechar family restaurant. food quality, portion and freshness is never an issue here. I have did a food pickup using their inhouse ordering website and it was a breeze. Do join their membership as it entitles you to a 5% discount for your orders
Great food and a variety of choices. Best for seafood
The food was pretty good to be honest. There's a stage with karaoke and depending on the diners who sing on that night, you may or may not enjoy your meal as a result. Took us 2 attempts to get our tea, but Chinese restaurants are like that, expect good food but not service necessarily. The place is not air conditioned, it's hot and loud. It's the type of restaurants we grew up with, so it's OK to us who are used to it enough to be able to enjoy the good food.
Good and yummy food. Parking is a little challenging on busy timing.
I also tried their food delivery service and the food came warm. My favourite includes Teochew fried kuay teow, prawn paste chicken wings, achar and hei zhaw.
Super love the crabs here! Both chili and black pepper are superb!
Great place for coffee and tea. Good economical food as well
Food is more like Teochew style. I like their teochew style braised goose meat which you can hardly find in SG. Their 龙虎会 is another one of my favourite! Expect big crowds during weekends dinner time.
Tried the food here. It was definitely above good. Environment is nice, sitting by the side and having cool beer like al fresco feeling but no young beer promoters. Management got to upgrade.
Good portion, reasonable price. Fast in service, and staff pays good attention.
Mass market seafood restaurant...wide range of dishes..average taste...relax non Aircon atmosphere.....
My family came here with the intention of having a crab feast, hence we ordered some side dishes along with salted egg crab and butter crab.
However, the crab wasnt as nice as we hoped for. The meat was tough and kinda had a slight unpleasant bitterness to it.
One of the best industrial park restaurants around and often full house on weekends. The food is value for money, and everyone seems to love the crab with seafood in claypot. Waiting staff are quite friendly despite being very busy.
Has been visiting for many years. Food still good but certain items like buddha jump over the wall soup not as thick broth as before and maybe busy night the prawns also oversteam. Overall great food as usual. Will come back again!
Food was prepared promptly after placing my order. Salted chicken, ngor hiang, hotplate tofu, triple egg spinach, yam ring, sweet and sour pork, fried rice. All dishes were above average.
GOOD dishes sold here. Prawn paste chicken was abit under cooked. Other than that there were no other issues. All other dishes were perfectly cooked and tasty well done.
Always crowded booking in advance is well advised
The must try dishes here are their suckling pig (make sure to call and confirm that it's available if you are thinking of taking away), fish maw soup, 龙虎绘, which is a soupy beehoon with seafood. You can choose to add a crab to it. Personally I think it is a great alternative to the normal crab beehoon. The salted egg crab, chilli crab, black pepper crabs are amazing as well.
1st time here. Steamed Crab is fresh and nice. Braised pig tail is nice too
If you place an order in english, check your receipt to ensure they got the order correctly. Eg. Dry Beef Hor Fun could end up as just HorFun.
Spacious. The Kai Lan with salted fish was really good. Must order when dining here.
This place is great. I've been here 4 times in the past month.
Food is great and price is reasonable
Good Chinese food at reasonable price. Much cheaper than other restaurant.
The closest traditional coffee shop eatery to my workplace. Good chinese cuisine 'chu char' dishes.
The fried bihun a.k.a SG bihun.. Taste is nice. Drop here and try out by your own.
Very popular. Food is good. Especially like it's sang mee.
The quality level of restaurants and the prices of stir-fried stalls are poor. Unfortunately, the environment and parking conditions of the coffee shop in the industrial park are not good. Otherwise, it would be a five-star recommendation. There is a car service on weekends to solve the parking problem. The restaurant provides on-site banquet service.
Very friendly service, delicious meals, delicious roast suckling pig, and delicious desserts.
The food is pretty good, but not delicious Teochew food.
The food comes out quickly, the food tastes good, the whole environment is good, the service is good, come on.
Everything is good...it's a pity that the closing and cleanliness are a bit messy
The place is spacious. . It doesn't feel too crowded, but it's a good place to drink and dine.
