This is my second visit to this outlet, and I totally forgot about my dining experience the first time several months ago. What I have experienced this time reminded me of what happened before. The prices are on the high side. The food is excellent, for sure, but the service, not so much. As before, I was wondering why it took so long to serve our soups. Aren’t they ready in the big pots behind the counter? This time, I got to witness it as I had a full view of the counter. The waitstaff served the water we ordered, so I’m very sure all of them received the order. But why were the “chefs” standing around behind the counter looking around and doing nothing for long time? The next thing I knew, they were scooping soups for takeout orders. What? What about our soups? There were order slips hanging in front of them. What was going on? The soups finally arrived, 15-20 minutes later, with the vegetable dish arriving some time later. I just don’t understand. The soups are not something you have to cook from scratch, and it didn’t look like the “chefs” were overwhelmed with orders.

The 2nd Lao Huo Tang outlet that I had visited. Ordered the following: Beauty Collagen Soup with Peach Gum, Apple & Snow Pear Soup with Pork Rib, Steamed Minced Meat with Mei Chye and Pumpkin Rice. The beauty collagen soup is very tasty, love the fish maw that were included. The apple & snow pear soup is delicious, my kids love it so much. The steamed minced meat didn't expect to be good, goes well with rice. Pumpkin rice also taste delicious, my kids finished the whole bowl. Overall the portion is good and pricing is on the higher side but definitely worth it. Service maintain the same standard as their other outlets. The restaurant itself is quite big. Ideal place for family gathering. Recommend for soup lover.

In all honesty, it's a place that I'd go to if I'm looking for a warm fuzzy evening. Prices may be a little steep for the quantity of food, but for the amount of effort, I think it's alright. Had their soup delivered through Deliveroo. Ordered the Beauty Collagen Soup with Peach Gum, as we were not hungry and just felt like drinking some soup. The extra container of soup was definitely a very helpful option. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Collagen 桃胶soup was good ( would recommend this) but chicken not tender enough, can say is tough. Shi quan bu tang 十全补汤needs to be less salt , and herbs taste not strong enough, and also chicken was tough. ( not recommend shi quan da bu tang). Pork belly with salted fish was so so, abit disappointed since is chef recommended from menu .

Delicious and flavorful soup. The pumpkin rice is a must try! I had pork stomach soup and it’s nice. They are so kind to provide soup refill. The tofu is nice and BIG portion for 2 pax. Will definitely return to try out other soup and dishes.

My favourite Chinese restaurant as they serve decent, comfort and quality food. The gravy and the wok hey of the seafood hor fun is super food! One of the dish to recommend to try. We also ordered cod fish, salted egg pork, fu Rong egg and beancurd with broccoli.

Great for children and family. Consistently good experience here since they first opened in Nex. Our family’s favorite restaurant for nourishing soup. Flavorful and they offer one time free soup refill in store. Very kind and understanding staff too, appreciate their patience to our requests during our visits.

This ace is great for soup and pumpkin rice. But their dishes or the fried pork i tried is only average. I'd say out of the soups I've tried I'd rate them in this order, pork tripe, watercress, apple-pear and salted veg w duck. Pork trip is the best, maintaining the porky flavor without an excessive amount of pepper added. The salted veg w duck faired the poorest as it was just too salty.

Lao Huo Tang serves very delicious soup which is refillable for an additional time. We order 1 brown rice, apple and snow pear soup with pork rib, barley with winter melon. The chili with dark sauce is on the spicy side. It goes very well with the pork ribs. Barley with winter melon is sweet and the seeds are chewy. Brown rice texture is just right for me. Pork rib and pear are soft and juicy. Noted that the brown rice size is standard. We went on a weekend for dinner and there's a long queue. However the waiting time is not too long and the environment is condusive and comfortable. #ILoveLaoHuoTang

This place deserves more love. The soup is so flavourful from all the boiling and steeping. Do ask for a free soup topup too if you wish. Surprisingly, the other dishes are yummy too! Always order the three egg spinach dish, the fried rice and noodles.

I and my family usually patronised Sun Plaza or Causeway Point restnts for our convenience. We enjoyed eating our dinner there as its not too crowded espicially on Saturdays' evening about 5pm. The portion of food suits us fine and taste good too. The only problem was the waittresses are too busy walking around that they hardly noticed us when we need to replenish a helping of the soup. Even on weekdays when we went there for dinner, the queue waiting time usually not too long n tedious espicially when we are all hungry near dinner time. Of the 2 places, we would prefers to dine at the Sun Plaza branch.

Since there is a 1 for 1 promotion for their soup, my fren order tt pig stomach soup, while i order tt pear and soft bone soup, Thai toufu and claypot brinjal. Its value for $ and the soup is yummy. Will be going there again🤗😋

Just come here for the soup only. You can get one free refill here as well. I wouldn't recommend anything else. I have tried some dim sum and other dishes. Only the soup seems to be decent here. Friendly service and a good selection of your traditional Chinese soups.

It's quite good, but it also lacks a lot of vegetables. Food should be sugar-free, white flour-free, rice flour-free, MSG-free, and less salt. Take care of healthy eating for diners. Fish should be steamed. Convenient for many diabetic diners to dine out. Thanks.
