Reviews of Little Myanmar Halal Foods
It was my first time trying Burmese food and everything was tasty. Shan noodles (dry) was a thick vermicelli coated in a peanut-like sauce and shredded chicken, while Mohinga was a savoury broth and thin vermicelli. The pickle tea salad was interesting - green tomatoes, tea leaves, cabbage, lots of nuts and cripsy bits - worth a try as a starter! The salad didn't have an overwhelming raw taste like salads typically, and was addictive instead with the garnishing. A hidden gem worth trying. 💯
Came here after watching nOm's review on Tiktok, saw the friendly owner and unique food so I knew I had to come here. The food didn't disappoint!
Asked for recommendations and went ahead with a bigger portion of Shan Noodles when the owner asked me if I was interested in trying his own version of Teh, which he said was popular with his Burmese patrons.
The Shan Noodles was super savoury and had a little bit of everything, with the unique Burmese chili crisps which I've come to love!
The uncle was enthusiastic in introducing his local cuisine and I really admired how he would cater his recommendations to what the customer likes to eat. I know I'll be back to try all the other dishes which looked amazing as well.
My Burmese co-worker recommended this place to get authentic Myanmar food in the West. Pleasantly surprised by their offerings so far - the price is a bit steep (most items priced starting from $6 per portion) but you get what you pay for, especially since this is an ethnic cuisine that you can't find in most hawker centers.
Tried their mutton briyani, lahpet thoke (fermented tea leaves salad), and of course mohinga (noodle soup). The briyani was pretty normal one, it's pretty hard to mess with briyani in Singapore, although the mutton was a bit tough. Mohinga was quite good, savory, warm, and flavorful - very suitable in cool weather as comfort food. Their version used rice vermicelli (bee hoon) instead of thicker noodles. I particularly love the crunchy texture of the crushed peanut crackers put into the soup.
The lahpet thoke was absolutely unique dish that is exclusive to Myanmar. The astringent taste of the tea leaves blends very well with the spices and peanut - it's a feast for multiple senses. Just be sure to not to consume it right before sleep due to the caffeine content of the tea leaves!
First time dining there and the beef noodles special ($9). Although the price was a bit high for the location, there was a lot of noodles and many pieces of beef. The stall owner even came to us to let us know how to mix the chili inside. When we were almost done, he even offered us an additional serving of noodles (which even had beef tripe in it!). Overall, great service despite him being busy (the queue was long), great taste, and huge portions. Will definitely be back for more!
This small stall serves quite a wide variety of Burmese food. Tried the Moh Hinga, coconut noodle, fried quail and bamboo shoot. All are very delicious. Friendly seller too.
very delicious and authentic Burmese food with many Myanmar nationals also ordering from this stall
Ordered their Special dum biryani. Generous potion with vegetables and soup. Abit different from the Indian biryani. Rice is fragrance and abit moist, chicken meat is tender. They also sell milk tea. And its nice. Give the bowl of coconut noodles a try, its tasty and aromatic.
Friendly owner, nice food.
Definitely worth trying!
First time having Burmese food and I enjoyed it. Plus it’s halal!
Moh hinga looks heavy however the broth was light and flavourful. The fritters added extra texture and it was lovely. Warms the body up on a rainy day.
Shan noodle delicious as well. The amount of effort put in could be seen with the number of condiments and garnishes. Everything worked well together. Good!
We ordered Beef briyani, mohinga and mixed noodle salad. I was hopping for super tender beef but the overall briyani taste was really delicious and balanced. The mohinga was very tasty with thick broth and the only thing I wish was for it to be heated more. The mixed salad was made per my specific order and it came exactly as I want it. The place was welcoming and the servers were friendly. I will try their other dishes next time.
My first time trying myanmar food and i was bowled over! The dishes i had were tamarind fish, pegaga salad with rice and the warm soft tofu. They all tasted to my liking, and were unique in their own way. I am likely to visit little myanmar again to try the other dishes. Happy with my find. And alhamdulillah its halal.
Location is a bit ulu but the food is AMAZING. Had the tofu nway and 10/10 left no crumbs. Food is reasonably priced and served really quickly. The hawker it is located in is also very clean. Will come again.
One of the Rare Halal Food Gem; Halal Myammar Dishes! Reasonable price and it's located at a neighbourhood coffeeshop in Clementi that's easy to locate! I recommend their popular Dum Briyani (available on certain days) and Curry Duck 👍👍👍👍👍👍 Friendly Owner!
My FAVOURITE Burmese place in Singapore. The owner is an incredibly lovely person and it’s such a joy to talk to him. i’ve been here about four times now and the food is always flavourful and incredible. the mohinga is better than the ones i’ve had in Myanmar, hehe
$6. Don't get me wrong, the warm soft tofu tasted interesting. It's just I am not used to eating this cuisine. Will come back again to try other items.
The soft tofu noodle pack a plethora of tastes, really nice food. The biryani is much more delicate than the normal version which is quite monotonous tbh
Will start with the good. Tea leaf salad was refreshing and Mohinga still makes a excellent comfort food 😋 the fish though was cold as it was fried much earlier and the chilli flakes added little taste or spice.
Will be back again to support this very friendly store. Keep it up!
It is good and the service is nice. I recommend Monhingar and tea leave salad. Price is fair.
The Shan noodles were very good. Portion was a little small but very tasty.
The food is served clean. Although it will not give you a perfect Myanmar taste, it’s worth trying. Some of the menu items are amazingly delicious.
Ordered the soupy Mohinga ($6) and Shan noodles. First impression of Mohinga one would probably say it was a bowl of light soba noodles in mee soto soup! But just that it isn't. According to friendly stall owner, the soup is actually fish soup boiled with turnip slices, coyly accented with yellow onion and onion shallots and parsley; with a lot less oil compared to a normal chicken based mee soto soup! Hence, Mohinga comes across as a very light noodle soup and you can add in the lime and chilli flakes according to your preference!
Shan noodles was easily clumpy with texture like the starchy Thai boat noodles. Paired with copious amount chilli flakes, sesame seeds, parsley, oil and savoury mackerel-like fish flakes. The the spiciness of this dish elicits either a love or hate kind of response. :D
And truly, there were many Burmese customers visiting the stall!
Went with 4 other buddies. Seller is so friendly and made some recommendation as it was our first time. We were served several dishes — mohinga, briyani chicken, soft tofu noodle, shan noodles, coconut gravy noodles — ALL DELICIOUS! We love the briyani and the soft tofu noodles the most. Interesting flavours! Will be back! 🍴
I tried their black soy sauce pork belly 2 years back, very similar in taste to Chinese dish, it was well cooked. Other dishes are equally good. Used to have long queue but not as bad now. Myanmar friends had informed their food is now much more expensive.
I had the Shan Noodle and my friend had the fried rice. Both dishes were absolutely delicious and flavourful. The owner of the stall is a friendly dude who takes pride in his work and the ingredients used were fresh and of the highest quality.
The food here are lips smacking good! 😍😍😍
Owner is friendly and was explaining to us about the dishes; he fed not only our stomach but our soul too with his stories.
We tried:
1) Duck curry with briyani rice
2) Warm soft tofu
3) Wash it with a cup of warm milk tea
4) Myanmar mangoes (thanks for the free treat! It taste like a cross between mango x jackfruit x durian. Yes durian. A new found love for me)
Will be back again!
First time for me to try Myanmar food, not really for me as the veg was quite raw and beef was dry. But the owner was super friendly! 👏👏
Great authentic Myanmar dishes with friendly service! Highly recommended. You can get a little taste of Myanmar.
Myanmar muslim foods available here. Friendly owner and delicious Myanmar foods available. You can have Myanmar traditional milk tea there.
The tofu noodles & the mo hinga noodles reminds me of the food I had in northern Thailand. The pickled tea salad is great too.
Great food. Something different from the usual food and on a high level. I especially loved the fishcake salad. A bit pricey for hawker center in Clementi.
A taste of authentic Myanmar food!
Dont forget the briyani too!
Recommend to go!
Food is great. Wide variety of food choices and very friendly shop owner. We tried the chicken briyani and it was great. Can even get their tea and dessert to come along with the meal.
Tried the Biryani with Mutton. Pretty good and filling. My favourite though is the soup. I'll come back to try other dishes
First time having less sweet and strong tea in SG. You may request what taste you like.
Delicious 😋
Will start with the good. Tea leaf salad was refreshing and Mohinga still makes a excellent comfort food 😋
The dum Briyani is flavourful.
The biryani either with chicken or mutton is so delicious and that is my frequent place if eating it in the west area.
Everything was nice. I recommend the soft tofu noodles. Friendly owner 👍🏻
I was recommended by a burmese friend to try the Shan noodles. Try it! It's super yummy!
Excellent chicken dum briyani! Will eat there again or take away.
