Reviews of Mademoiselle Tang Noodle
I had a fantastic experience at 唐大小姐 @ Royal Square. The noodles were delicious, the broth was rich and flavorful, and there were so many options to choose from. The portion sizes were generous, and the food was served quickly, which is always a plus.
One thing that stood out was how they handled an issue with the bill. There was a mistake, and I was overcharged. After contacting the manager, the situation was resolved promptly, and the extra amount was refunded without any hassle. Excellent customer service!
Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a great meal and a team that cares about its customers
Tucked away in Royal Square, Novena, Mademoiselle Tang Noodle is a hidden gem waiting to be discovered. I confess, I initially dismissed it as "it’s just thick vermicelli soup" amidst the long queues. But curiosity eventually got the better of me, especially on a rainy day craving something soupy and spicy. That's when I fell in love!
My regular order is the "build your own" option which allows you customise your broth and ingredients. I usually go for the lightly spiced sour vegetable soup, a tangy and aromatic delight that warms you from the inside out. But there are plenty of other broths and toppings to explore, making each visit unique.
What truly sets Mademoiselle Tang apart is its free-flowing condiments and side dish bar. Load up the spicy sauces and toppings to personalise your bowl exactly to your taste.
Tips: For Lunch, head there before 11:30am to avoid the queue.
Had their signature dish, and the sides and condiments are free-flow (self-service). The staff gave us the option of putting all the ingredients into the dish by ourselves or they will be able to help. The noodles had great texture. Although there were many different items in the dish, some of them don't seem to complement each other very well - you'll get confused by all the different flavors in the soupy dish. A great thing is the relatively cheap side dishes which were of smaller portion sizes - a great way to try more of them. The pumpkin cakes were good.
Superb yunnan-style noodles at inexpensive prices. Love the gigantic bowls which house generous portions. Also like the little condiments bar at the back with their free flow of cilantro and chopped spring onions. Service is fast though their English comprehension leaves something to be desired.
Liked
- classic crossing-bridge noodles with their wide range of ingredients in a pork rib soup. Wish their menu had an option to exclude specific ingredients from their standard combos, though.
- sour spicy pickled cabbage soup also hits the spot.
- Lu Rou Fan. Overall delicious; good ratio of fat, meat and drippiness but the rice to ingredient ratio was off and the eggs were a little over boiled.
- Tofu noodles. Interesting soy forward flavor and the noodles were nicely toothsome.
- Mushroom chicken soup noodles. Never thought I’d find morels in a joint like this.
Ambivalent:
- the jelly dessert was just ok.
- far too many beansprouts.
Customisable noodles with soup base, type of noodles and ingredients. Pork broth was not thick and a bit bland but the chilli enhanced the taste. No english menu, only mandarin which was quite troublesome and the menu translated tofu skin to silk tofu which was not what I wanted (I wanted tofu but ended up with tofu skin).
The rice noodles/mixian are somewhat overcooked, but the flavors, pickles, and chilli oil are great. My fav is their beef noodles. Have tried the spicy flavors too but the beef broth and generous portions of beef always bring me back.
Second visit and looking forward to a third! The service here is always excellent. I cannot vouch for their noodles but the set promo ($9.90 includes chicken, veggies, rice and a drink) is super tasty especially their house special mala chicken in a pot. Enjoy it with a hearty dollop of their homemade chilli paste/oil and the rest of your day will feel simply perfect!
The cutleries are beautifully decorated, food is presented pretty before you mix the food together, the wooden furniture and decor gives a nice feeling.
Service was prompt and I noted they have chairs available for children.
Food is mediocre to my personal taste. The overall taste is light. While the noodle is springy and nice, the broth and the rest of the ingredients doesn’t seem to come together well. And the dish has abundant of soup compared to the contents (the vegetables floated while the rest of the ingredients drowned underneath) so a bit of stirring and searching may be needed to find the part you want to bite. The vegetables also look more like garnishes except for the bean sprouts (eg. Coriander, chives, spring onion, flower petals).
Very tasty and thick soup base. Noodle is nicely cooked. Different type of chili available. A bit pricy with the add ons
I am not a big fan of Chinese food but I have to say, this is one of the most satisfying lunch I hand for a very long time.
I wanted noodles with lots of vegetable options. When I look through the menu, the tofu noodles catches my attention and so I place the order with the plum drink and the black fungus starter.
Never I expect to be surprised by the balance taste of the noodles. It was really really good. I never thought I could finish such a big bowl considering the size of it.
The starter is another pleasant surprise, so crunchy and I love every bite of it.
I will definitely be back for more....
Interesting Yunnan style eaterly. Nice presentation, and taste delicious. Except serving for dessert a bit small. Anyway, the Cross-bridge rice noodles reminded me of my Yunnan trip many years ago.
Had their Tofu noodles and I absolutely loved it. It had some minced meat and pickled veges with a slightly vinegary sauce. The tofu was really soft and it worked well with the dish. It's served with a side of soup that usually comes with their signature 米粉.
Interesting combination of passion fruit
With noodles.
But soup is too spicy to taste passion fruit just mild sour
My favourite Yunnan food place in SG. I like the pickled veg (酸菜) soup base the most: not too sour and pickled veg gives soup more layers of taste. The chicken soup with wild mushroom is another must try. Free flow of side dishes and they taste surprisingly good (consider they are free!)
I had the fried pork Noodle. The broth was delicious and there was a good amount ingredients in the dish. However, there were parts of the noodles which were clumped together and was undercooked and inedible. The fried pork that came with the dish although was cooked and tasted good, had slices which were just the fats.
Good mixian fix if you are craving it.
You can customise your own bowl.
Good food at reasonable prices. The place is a little cramp though
V delicious n v classical Yunnan mixian. Unique from all other mixian shops that I tried in SG. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! dk why there's only one store left...
Good portion and soup is very tasty
Decent place for yunnan 过桥米线. Customised my own with pork broth, rice noodles, 4 vegetables and one meat for $7.20. The broth was really good but I felt the rice noodles could have been better and the portion of the ingredients could have been more generous. Service was prompt and there was just enough seats to hold the lunch crowd.
The only disappointment is that the soup is not hot enough after we poured everything into it and it's at the temperature of tongue. Chilli oil can be much better and sesame oil should be provided too. My 2 cents.
Very delicious broth and generous portion. I also enjoyed the side dishes that customers can help themselves with.
Simple Chinese noodle diner but really impressive flavours. Only walk-ins. No strong MSG taste and the signature wild mushroom dish with the clear soup is delicious! Even the spicy pickled cabbage soup is unique - not overly spicy and salty like other brands. Overall, pleasantly surprised and tasty especially without MSG.
I always go for their Yun nan mi xian (glass noodle soup in a giant bowl). I’ve also tried their minced pork rice set. Tasty meal, very reasonably priced.
Over the bridge noodles are served here. Drinks include Roselle tea. And dessert is a chilled fruit jelly.
Good authentic yunan food.
Great price.
Good environment and lovely staff as in lady boss and kitchen staff.
Good location.
Located 5 mins away walking distance from novena mrt
A must visit for local Singaporeans and also a must visit for tourists transiting Singapore or visiting Singapore as tourists.
The noodle is very smooth and soft. Just the way I like it. Serving is huge.
Lovely hot bowl of soup noodles on a cold rainy Saturday 🌧
They provide free condiments too
Service was prompt, and tables were cleared up quite fast
Many choices and love the free flow side dishes.
Loveeee their preserved veggie soup. Goes soooo well with the silky rice noodle! Love the flexibility of toppings too. Can be hard to get seat during peak hours so come early!
I find the soup not enough taste. Too much water diluted the taste.
Love the freedom to choose different vegetables or meats items with selected soup and noodles.
The chili oil is awesome, not very spicy, but extremely fragrant. Even less spicy than nandos mid sauce, even if you can't take spicy, you should give it a try. And remember to put it into spoon not the soup, it will get diluted unless you add a lot!! Compare to the chili oil, the rice noodle is nice, the soup and meat are "okay" level. But I will come back and take more rice noodle for the chili oil.
Delightful and savory. Price for certain items are on high end.
A pleasant surprise after the disappointment that was Hai Di Lao. Best ma la clams I have ever had. Very fragrant and just the right level of spice. You may not see this dish on the menu, but it is there as a side dish. The bing fen dessert also delivers, much more appetising than the photos appear.
Great food and place overall! Wish I had taken photos.
Delicious soup and noodle, free appetizer taste really good!
I almost find their sides and snack dishes more interesting than their main offerings, e.g. 酸辣米线
(Sour and spicy noodle), and their 鲜花饼 (biscuit with rose petals) and even their rose petal + sour plum flavoured drink was very nice. So give their sides a go if you come here!
This is very good and worth the money
I enjoyed my meal
A unique Chinese noodles shop that not only offers signature rice noodles with 27 customisable add-on ingredients, but also one of the best mala pot; YunNan Specialty Chicken Rice for spicy food lovers.
Had mala soup with noodle, veg and meat. The soup is very nice and tasty. It wasnt very spicy so should suitable to most people.
I went to the place three times. Rice noodles are quite tasty. Will definitely go there next time.
Very soothing for stomach and price is reasonable.
Good place to have a chill n relax food..noodles was good and a huge serving..pumpkin pie is awesome!! Will come back.
I liked the braised chicken it was very tasty and fresh
Not too bad.
Have read about it's foodie delights but couldn't choose a palatable description for non-signature dishes.
Nice beef briskets noodles. Thank you
good!
Good noodles, nice ambience and affordable prices.
Great food at affordable prices
If it weren’t for the purpose of trying this rice noodle shop, I wouldn’t have made a special trip to Novena. After trying it, I think it’s worth the trip! It was my first time to try it. I ordered a classic cross-bridge rice noodle. The waiter very kindly reminded me whether I should add the toppings myself or let the chef add the toppings for me in advance. I like to eat well-cooked food, so I chose to let the master add it to the pot for me! It is not easy to eat an authentic bowl of rice noodles in Singapore, and it is even more difficult to eat an authentic bowl of Yunnan Cross-Bridge Rice Noodles in Singapore. It was almost 3 pm when I came to eat, and the business in the store was still very good. Soup It's very fresh, and there are a lot of ingredients in it, including several pieces of chicken, two shrimps, crispy pork, ham, quail eggs... Another highlight of their restaurant is the condiment table. It is especially recommended to try their special green pepper dipping sauce. The familiar taste is unique to Yunnan, Guizhou and Sichuan... It is really rare to be able to taste it in Singapore! With such authentic taste and good business, I strongly recommend opening another branch! For example, in VivoCity…
The environment is comfortable and the bus stop is right at the door.
Tastes good, clean and hygienic.
The noodles are chewy and authentic.
The soup is delicious and the ingredients are abundant!
The homemade sour plum soup is delicious and refreshing to relieve the heat!
Recommended!
The portion is very generous and the taste is great👍The bone broth has a strong taste
The bowl was large and gave the impression that it was a large serving. Actually, it was just right. The spoon design is a bit difficult to use. The taste was ok. It is recommended that you use a bowl of the correct size.
Their small pot rice noodles really win my heart. The rice noodles are soft and flavourful, and the pickled cabbage soup base is sour and spicy. It is super appetizing. Highly recommended. Ice powder and pumpkin pie are both worth trying
Very nice place to go! Really recommend. Authentic Yunnan Cross-Bridge Rice Noodles
It's delicious, but the hygiene and attitude of the waiters and aunties need to be improved.
I had the signature rice noodles, which tasted good. Chatting with friends until closing time, the store clerk waited patiently.
It tastes good, there are many people queuing up, and the price is affordable
Very delicious and full of ritual feeling
The most authentic bridge rice noodles you can find on the slopes.
Delicious, good food, easy to find location
You should definitely try Noodle, it's a great place.
