Reviews of Mrs Pho House - Rangoon Road
We made an online reservation which was cancelled by the restaurant 5 minutes before our arrival and while we were already on the way / nearly there. When we arrived at 19:15 we found the restaurant more than half empty, which makes the cancellation even stranger. Maybe the staff wanted to go home early..? The restaurant was completely empty when we left around 20:00 on a Friday evening.
The second disappointment was the menu. Mrs. Pho has two locations - one in Rangoon Road and one in Somerset 313. We on purpose went to the Rangoon Road restaurant since they had a significantly bigger menu available online. However, when we wanted to order, it turned out that almost half of the menu was unavailable. This is not what we came here for.
Now to the positive aspects though: The flavor and quality of the beef pho was very good. We also enjoyed the grilled beef slices and beans as side dishes.
Would we come back? Yes - but definitely not to the Rangoon Road location. Instead we'd just go to the more conveniently accessible Somerset one since most of the additional menu items aren't available anyways.
I did couple of takeaways during the circuit breaker. This is my first time eating at the place. The Pho here is pretty good but still lose out to my favorite Nan Nan. The service staff was lacking when I was there but maybe was due to valentine's day. I had the usual beef Pho, dry noodles and crab and seafood noodles. Overall it was still a good experience.
Good food BUT understaffed at Rangoon Road; mgmt appraised and aware. One person as cashier, waiter, manager, supervisor handling food delivery, takeout and in house diners.Kitchen staff of 4 under his watch. We were over charged for repeat of one order but they returned the difference via PayNow after we called them. They have a few branches; small variance in price depending on location. We tried 313 Somerset branch today; small eatery but good, quick service.
Actually tried to find a place at Mrs Pho (Beach road) but parking there is impossible. Came here instead for the first time, and service was really excellent. Food is great as per usual, had the classic sliced beef pho, and the spring rolls (fried) are some of the best spring rolls I’ve ever had. We loved the aesthetics too.
The beach road outlet has good food too, but their service is quite horrible. This was a great find!
Great pho and atmosphere. Had the sliced beef, spring rolls and sugar cane prawn sticks. Fresh food and very quick service
So glad that a good Vietnamese eatery is more centrally located. Looking forward to Viet eateries further west one day! But for now happy to eat at Mrs Pho Rangoon outlet. They have a very good set lunch deal. Great combinations & reasonable prices!
Chance upon this restaurant just nearby our place. We were surprised by the Pho and we all like it a lot. Just unfortunately that there were mosquitoes in the. Restaurant that somehow affected the Dining experience.
The food here is surprisingly good. Don’t be fooled by its simple appearance and old school metal table tops. Just go for the chef recommended, it’s a no brainer. We ordered spicy grilled prawns, pork belly (so so good), lalas, their signature pho, one of their herbal fried spring roll and the kangkong. The pork belly was so succulent and smooth it’s a must try. Everything else was just so flavourful with richness in every mouth. It’s almost like it was Vietnamese food with a Singapore punch.
Their beef pho, clams, cockles and spicy chicken wings are amazing.
Cockles were properly washed and were fresh, loved the garlic taste.
The items on the menu are way more expensive than the outlet at beach road, but you are actually paying for the nice ambiance and higher quality ingredients.
Only downside is that you cant just buy an additional bowl of noodles to add on to your soup.
Mrs Pho has always been our favorite comfort food spot. Our family look forward to it every Sunday. We are sad that the Bussorah location has closed, but the Rangoon location is just as good. We always order the papaya salad, sugar cane prawn, lemongrass clams, angel beans etc and each one of us get a pho. Please go support Mrs Pho! 🍜
Came to know about this place in 2019. Dined here a few times and never disappointed. Like the atmosphere here and the pho. I also brought my friend here.
Great food and service. Very authentic dishes which you won’t be able to find easily outside of Vietnam. Located is a very quiet area in central singapore.
Located at the end of Rangoon road. The food is not bad and there is good service. Pho was tasty and of good proportions. The Banh Xeo (pancake) is delicious and served with raw vegetables. The decor is pretty hip.
Good food. Street URA parking. Good service. Moderately priced, not cheap. Go pho! Great drip coffee.
Great ambiance, clean restaurant and reasonable pricing. Food can be improved. Had the best Vietnamese pork chop here
Cozy and clean enviroment, friendly staff who really takes cares for the customers. Even the chefs will come out and socialize. Food is really delicious. The whole atmosphere and food really warms the cckles of my heart. 5 out of 5 will recommend and come back again.
super nice beef soup, big portion of Pho with short rib and beef combination. Ordered fried spring roll and kangkong too, enough for 2 sharing. Will visit again.
Legit, low key yet high on authenticity, detail, and flavor - in a fairly stylish and very comfortable, converted shop. Highly recommended.
Consistent in taste and quality, patronised Mrs Pho three times at the Rangoon Rd and VivoCity outlets.
Their pho is really yummy!
Went back again today and food is still as fantastic ! Ordered the mango salad for the first time and loving it.
Great place, a hideaway in Rangoon road with an authentic Vietnamese feel. My 5th time here
We are loyal patrons of this place. It has really yummy food, great portions at an affordable price
Ordered a standard beef pho.
Soup base - clear, light and well balanced
Noodles - Had a good bite to it
Meat - quite alot and really tender.
Highly recommended.
Ordered spring rolls
This one wasn't that impressive. Abit too deep fried for my liking.
Overall 4/5 stars!
Very nice decor. Food wise pretty good. Place is clean and does not smell heavy on fish sauce.
My only complain portion is small for the price
Great place for Vietnamese food.
Not too noisy or crowded.
Loved the spicy wings & beef pho.
Raw egg soup was fantastic for those who like halfboil eggs!!
Proper Vietnamese drip coffee too.
Pho is ok, i think most ppl come here also for their clams. would recommend you to give it a try if you are nearby. but this place is very far from any public transport
This is our regular place for a nice quiet reasonably priced dinner. It’s never crowded. I like their Mama’s Lucky Meatballs, Mixed Beef Pho and Grilled Pork Chop rice. And end off with their Summer Iced Tea.
Delicious Pho. Rich broth. Fragrant flavorful grilled meat. Generous portions. Very yummy. But mainly street parking.
Viet coffee is robust, very good! Enjoyed the food. Ordered the pork chop, viet roll, beef pho and spicy pho.
Best Pho I've ever had!!!! 🤤 ... The Bahn Xeo wasn't my fave but the pho made up for everything
Clean and pleasant ambience. Love the pancake!
Not bad for a small neighborhood Vietnamese food
Very authentic Vietnamese cuisine. It has Banh Xeo (savoury crepe), Cha Ca (turmeric fish) and of course Phò. They even have these cute little stools outside that's perfect for people watching—truly authentic Vietnamese experience.
My current go-to place for pho. The broth is really tasty. Only wish they added more beef.
Taste good!! The staffs also very friendly
Lovely interior, Pho more food, Pho more pleasure, Pho more of her. Awesome vibe.
Staff were friendly and pleasant. The Rangoon Rd outlet is not as crowded as those at Taka and VivoCity, so the food was served very promptly. Tried the stir fried wing beans, chicken banh xeo and calamari for the first time and was delightfully surprised by all three. We especially liked the tangy dipping sauce that came with the calamari. My mom liked the collagen soup. She’s very sensitive to the smell of pork but said the meat balls and soup had no porky smell 👍🏼👍🏼
Food was good and the Vietnamese lady manning the drink station was very friendly , but service by the lady manning the tables was horrendous . She is either really sleepy or just hates her job . Really rude , rolls her eyes when people are ordering . Gets really annoyed when asked questions or asked to get something, throws things onto the table in a rude way... I hope the business owners see this message because I think you deserve someone better than this lady. I saw her do this to other customers , one customer even ended up just helping himself to sauce instead of asking her . Writing this review because as a fellow business owner , I would want to know if one of my staff was treating my customers like this . Shame because the food was good
a place w nice ambience, delicious dishes and good and fast service! :)
Food is delicious.
Visited Vietnam a few times before. I would say the food here is comparable.
My review = a clean bowl is the best review. 👍👍
Nice food. Nice atmosphere
Mrs Pho, always my go-to place for vietnamese food. I love sliced beef pho and cockles . Now they have banh mi and it is so good!! Crispy and light baguette. They serve generous amount of meat at this outlet.
Nice food experience. Will come back again
Love this place, such delicious food, friendly service and nice atmosphere. I do wish they were a bit more environmentally friendly though and not give out as much plastics (all tissues given wrapped in plastic, cutlery comes in a plastic bag, straws and plastic cups given with purchase of water etc). Other than that, everything is perfect!
Really really really good authentic Vietnamese food! Second time eating here!! I went to Vietnam for a holiday sometime last year (before covid) and fell in love with their cuisine so much so that when I came back to Singapore, I searched everywhere for some good vietnamese food! 😂 And I’m glad that I found it! The Mrs Pho dry noodles is a must try! If you’re dining in, ask for extra sauce that they serve with the noodles - you won’t regret it!! Last time I went there with friends, I ordered a main + drink + some sides (spring rolls, lemongrass beef sticks, cockles) and it came up to $30/ person. It’s definitely a lot more expensive than what they charge in Vietnam but trust me, you can’t find better Vietnamese food here in Singapore! 👍🏽
The best Vietnamese food in town. Must try their beef combo pho n cockles. If u love lard u wil definitely fall in love with their cockles. Their chilli paste n fish sauce is really good. They don't serve it in abundance so if u like it ask for more.
I had pretty high expectations going in given the great reviews, but most dishes I tried (beef pho, crepe, coffee and crab noodles) were so so. With the number of people raving about the authenticity of the pho, coffee and crepe I thought they would be better, but it's not remotely close to what my Vietnamese friend introduced me to in Hanoi. In fact even for Singapore standards I found them to be nothing exceptional. The standouts though were the cockles (substituted for lala as cockles were not available) and egg pudding. The lala was very fresh and juicy, not something I can find in most Vietnamese restaurants here.
Nice environment and delicious food
Nice Ambience coupled with very tasty Vietnamese cuisine … the service is very good too. Will definitely come again.
Bun Cha was well done, grilled just right, though the serving could be bigger. Beef pho soup was a bit too sweet compared to what you'd find in Vietnam.
Damn good food. Large servings of meat for pho too :) Price is on the high side though. A bottle of Dasani mineral water cost $3.
Can be crowded during weekend. Loved the pho and even the tzechar style dishes were great. And Vietnamese beer... yum..
The place is very Instagramable.. looks super nostalgic as if you are having a meal at a typical shop in the street of saigon.. I didn't manage to try the gents as nature didn't call upon me.. so there isn't any comments on the ambiance..
Both wagyu beef pho and grilled tilapia in banana leaf are good, but pricey.
I prefer the sliced beef pho, than the special beef pho
Banh mi - wonderfully yummy :)
The spicy rice noodles are not that good. The rice noodles were delicious. If you can't eat cilantro or tom yang, avoid the spicy rice noodles. It wasn't the spicy rice I expected. The interior is nice, but the location is so vague that I had a hard time getting there. It's easier if you bring a car.
The crab meatballs in the noodle soup are delicious.
Delicious food, good service, beautiful restaurant space. If the meal is fun, I will come back to eat. Thank.
I heard from my friends that the food here is delicious and the chef is handsome, so I will definitely come here once. 🥹🥹🥹
Delicious food, good service, handsome chef, by the way, can I ask if you have a beep head yet?
Enthusiastic chef, authentic Vietnamese restaurant!
Support the shop for a long time
Quiet, spacious and good.
