Reviews of Mukmin Restaurant Bedok
This place is an institution. It has been around for more than 30 years and is the epicentre of the Malay/Muslim community in Bedok. Some stalls have changed over the years but some OGs remain the same.
Come for Marsha Family bubur ayam (chicken porridge), my favourite go-to comfort food. Or kacang pool (peanut soup) at the stall next to the washroom. The stall selling kueh used to have more varieties, their pastry is still very good - different types of epok epok and samosas.
Very popular place on weekend morning with some ppl driving from Jurong and Woodlands coming to catch up with friends. Nearby residents come here for weekday breakfast and lunch.
They are closed during Ramadan (fasting month) but you can come from afternoon onwards to get take-away for iftar to break fast.
Kacang phool ok but not as thick as it was during my childhood. Probably inflation woes. Lontong goreng yummy as usual. The kueh is always nice.
One of the malay kopitiam just selling only Malay dishes. Chicken porridge, lotong goreng, soto ayam, kachang pool and malay cuff puffs and nasi padang. The porridge chicken is not like before. Too light and the chicken brooth is light taste unlike before thick. The lotong goreng is too. The pieces of the lotong are getting smaller pieces unlike before but the cost of both dishes had gone up by 0.50 cents to $1.00. Even the drinks too had gone up from $0.90 to $1.20 for tea without milk. The briyani stall Mohsen is still there with the best mutton and chicken dum briyani and at times fish briyani at still $10.00. The briyani are excellent and one of the best around the Bedok area. One can smell the briyani rempah from the stall even one is still seated at other tables. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Tables are cleared promptly. Well done 👏
i came back there after more than 30 yrs . Most of the seller new but the food still the same. All halal food sold by the Malays.
It's been revived after new stalls take over. Variety of options
Ate Kacang Ful with extra serving of French loaf. Taste same like few years ago with new price that cannot be avoided. Some of the food stalls closed early. Cant complain much about it.
Definitely the haunt for breakfast in the east. Always love their kacang phool, soto, bubur ayam and lontong goreng. The chicken rice is also yummy and gives that authentic taste eaten as a kid. Must go for breakfast.
A halal coffeeshop with all stalls selling authentic Malay and Indian food. Some of the famous items include mee siam, briyani, lontong. Worth to make a trip to try out the foods.
Food quality generally drops for most of the stalls except the shop with the mee rebus.. all around the place is decent good vibes.. It's my mom favourite place when she was young..
Amazing place and wonderful staff. The Food met my expectations and got an extra complimentary perks. Unique experience. Will bring my friends next time. Highly recommend
One of the alternatives if you are tired of Simpang Bedok Muslim Food prices.
Tried the Mee Soto from one of the corner stores. Cost about 4dollar with Add on. Very reasonable.
Mukmin Restaurant Bedok serves delicious local food at reasonable prices. The ambience is pleasant, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!
7 stalls selling briyani, mee soto, lontong goreng, malay kuehs, nasi padang and even western breakfast( toast, eggs, beans and sausage). Very affordable. They offer meal sets (safe up to $1for a few). One drink stall that serves the usual hot and cold drinks. Clean and well lit.
The laksa is so good. I can see why the older people love to buy from here. The taste is refreshing and not too cloying. The amount is just right. The other food there is not too bad either but make sure to try the laksa!
near to our home, so conveniently on the way when we go to Bedok Central on the weekends. good selection of stalls predominantly catering for Malay tastes. prices are very reasonable and food quality is good - very good portion sizes. we like to have the soto ayam and/or mee soto with extra potato cakes................
