Quiet place for a meal. Not many people around 11.30am on a weekday. I preferred the Bak Ku Teh (dry) than the one with soup. The sauce of the Sesame Oil Chicken was good and chicken was tender.

Overall okay experience. Plus point is that it is not crowded even on weekends. Food is generally lighter in terms of taste. My favourites surprisingly were the handmade youtiao and the soy beancurd (old school style, very smooth and not very sweet). Bkt broth could be more flavourful (sweet, salty, more umami). Preserved vegetables (mei cai) is recommended! Still retains slight crunch and have the nice subtle tea taste.Tau Kee I wish it was braised longer and softer. The pork trotters sauce taste abit unfamiliar so... Old street is the old place that offers dry bkt which is much more heavy (taste of thick dark soy sauce with seafoody and slight spice). Service is just ok - you call for topup of soup then they will respond but they will not initiate.

Lots of working stuffs within the customer seating area. Don't feel comfortable or relax eating there. Staff attitude authoritative, control customer seats when the restaurant has no customer early hours 11.30am.

Go for the Set Meal. For the price, you'll get your fill. My favourite part is the large basket of you-tiao / dough fritters. Recommended.

Waiting time is fast enough and the soup is filled up till you are full. Soup has less pepper taste. Pig trotter is also a great choice here.
