Reviews of Oops Kitchen (Home Style Cuisine)
Owned by ex-CID couple, their food is surprisingly good 👍🏻
The wok-hei were tremendous, pork belly satay, o-jian, boneless chicken wing, carrot cake and their famous pork trotter bee hoon taste were great.
Definitely a hidden gems 💎
Fantastic local cuisine. Fried Prawn noodle full of prawn flavour. Their Signature Pig trotter Been Hoon will surprise you as it’s not the can type. Their fried oyster 😍😍Definitely coming back for more other food.
Amazing service and food! Wide variety of food and super accommodating to my dietary restrictions. CDC vouchers can be used too!
Food is fantastic! All the dishes that we ordered taste great, especially the Pig’s Trotters Bee Hoon, Prawn Paste Chicken Wings and the Cheezy Pizza.
Cheezy Pizza is a standout for us with the melted cheese still runny and yummy!
Highly recommend everyone to come and try!
Casual and cozy cafe that serves local fare along with Korean and Western options.
Their pork trotter beehoon is pretty darn good! Very flavourful and distinct from the numerous iterations using canned braised pork.
Their seafood mee goreng reminded me of the old Punggol jetty version (if you’re old enough to remember that).
The chicken wings are good too but the lamb shank rendang didn’t resonate with me.
Reasonably priced for a cafe and their service is warm and friendly.
Lots more on their menu to try!
May 2022: would have given 6 stars if there was a bonus star option! Fabulous food and lovely service :) the boneless chicken wings is a must try! We had the braised pork trotter bee Hoon and it was heavenly! The hard boiled egg in the bee Hoon dish was perfectly done. The lemongrass drink was also good and not o early sweet. My friends also recommended the laksa and fried kway Teow which I would try on the next visit.
June 2022: 2nd visit with more family members and so we could order more dishes. Two thumbs up for the fried bee Hoon. It was superb. Will definitely go back for more! The laksa was also not bad with a whole egg and generous servings of tau gau. The char kway teow also had wok hei!
April 2024: can’t believe it’s been so long since our present visit. Menu has been upgraded and more dishes added. We tried the dry laksa, fried dry bee hoon, the chicken wings (of course!) and a desert. Can’t wait to visit again!
Went there once & returned a few days later with the kampung 😆 because the food was simply scrumptious. The crowd's favourites include (in no order of preference 😄) Char Kueh Teow - Full of wok hei & certainly can give the reputable ones a run for their money; Tee Kah Bee Hoon - Again, one can easily smell the aroma as the dish whiffs pass. Full of wok hei, extremely tasty and not oily one bit; Har Cheong Gai - Crispy on the outside, succulent & juicy on the inside. The chicken wing is deboned making it so easy to eat!; The Orh Luak - Some of the most succulent & huge oysters we have had for this dish, complete with a nostalgic home cooked taste and fried to crisp perfection; Curry fish head - The fish was awesome, fresh and the lemak was thick & flavourful (pre-ordered dish as the fish is bought fresh on the day of dining); Satay - Thick pieces of fresh & marinated meat accompanied by the fragrant, rich & thick peanut sauce; Claypot rice - Another deeply flavourful dish filled with wok hei & tastes so much better than the renowned ones! Please try the Blanc Beer while you are there. So so so smooth & glides down your throat. Last but not the least, the homemade Lemongrass drink is a killer! Awesomely refreshing and a fantastic accompaniment with all the yummy foods! Will (& have) keep coming back for the delicious foods & immaculate service! There is plenty of parking available in the building too.
Fantastic food and lovely service, highly recommended pork trotter bee hoon, boneless prawn paste chicken wing, oyster omelette, the lok lok looks good too, will try it next round!
This place is opposite nee soon camp. Nice vibe to this place. The lok lok here is decent and comparable to other lok lok places that I've been so far.. I must say they took effort to really decorate the place with fortune cats and neon signs.
Things that they could improve on would be to better organise the queues that were forming outside. For food wise, I think that the chilli and sauces that they have doesn't complement the lok lok. Their special sauce that was drizzle onto the food is nice but there is great improvement needed for their sauces and chillies.
Overall price is decent at 1 dollar per stick for normal stuff and 1.50 for seafood and meat stuff.
Do come by and try it for yourself!
Have been visiting Oops Kitchen rather frequently for the past year and a half. Recently preordered their crabs (1 chilli and 1 black pepper). It is spectacular. Their black pepper is so aromatic and powerful. Their chilli crab with man tou is so goooood with the crab roe taste blended so nicely. You need to contact them to preorder. It’s well worth the reservation.
Went for the lok lok, price is reasonable but variety wasn't fantastic. The lack of spicy sauces is a peculiar move, satay sauce was OK at first but got gelat quickly when paired with deep fried food.
My biggest disappointment was the heavy use of batter, it ruins the texture and makes it more tempura than lok lok. Still worth a try if you're around the area and judge for yourself, staff are friendly for what it's worth.
Probably just not my cup of tea
very good food, their boneless chicken wings are fantastic
Payment Was To Be Done Only After The Meal. I supposed Im Overcharged Of A $1 Stick. My Gf And I Were Bz Chatting And After We Left Then We Realized 1 of The Bah Kwa Stick That We Picked Wasnt Served to Us. Price Was Reasonable Without Service Charge & GST. But Is Best To Count Your Sticks On Your Table First Before Heading To Cashier Payment, To Avoid Overpaying. Fried Lok Lok Taste Ok But Not The Satay Sauce.
Highly recommended the home cook
Food here . Superb quality and tasty food
Fried chicken wings , pork trotters bee Hoon , curry fish head . This place is ideal for groups gathering and family dinner .
The chef and wife team is very friendly . You need to pre order the curry fish head .
Yummy curry fish picture attached .
The pig trotters bee hoon and prawn paste chicken wings are very very good! Hidden gem!
First time eating here. We ordered pork leg beehoon, vegetarian olive rice, oyster omelette, Har Lok prawns and chicken wings. Every dish was delicious. Even the drinks were good. Highly recommended. Only area for improvement is that the air conditioning is not cool enough.
I was skeptical about Singapore lok lok, but when I tried the lok lok here changed my mind. The lok lok is fried nicely with the powder and black sauce on top is simply delightful. In addition with other special sauces to dip in which are great as well.
Worth the $1.00 ($1.50 for premium) per stick.
First time visit with friend. Overall good experience. Food is generally tasty. Service if friendly. Parking avaialable at basement of building. U choose to illegal park by the road behind, gd luck to you, enforcement do turn up.
Braised pig trotters bee hoon and boneless wings are indeed very delicious! Thanks lady boss for the sweet thought of offering your slippers for my broken slippers. Great service! (:
Portion of food is just nice. The omelette with onion is nicely prepared : crispy o the outside and a bit liquid on the inside . Ambience is nice !
A gem in the neighborhood.. discovered this cafe last week during a trail walk ( and have visited them thrice thereafter). Fantastic food, reasonably priced and good portions. Everything is freshly prepared and you can definitely tell that the chefs take pride in their preparations. The owner is a very friendly lady and is passionate about F&B business. Her choice of coffee is excellent and the vegan olive fried rice is a must try. A must recommended place.
Been patronising this eatery for 2 years plus and decided to give a review as I felt that it is just under rated and personally, among the whole stretch of eateries @brooks, none could be compared to the savoury food and reasonable price and portion over here. The beer or wine promo has been quite reasonable and they doesn't raise their prices up at all. Their sambal was also very powerful and one of the best I had tried. Recently I brought my parents and sibling over for a dinner and they also felt that with their standard of the food, is definitely a hidden gem. Perhaps if you are seeing this review, drop by and try then you will know.
The only downside is perhaps when is much occupied, you probably have to wait longer. Other than that, everything is good.👍
The Lok Lok was deep fried with a thin batter of crispness and we enjoyed the sweet black sauce that was drizzled across it. However, I personally found it too oily. Sticks were $1 each with premium sticks at $1.50. Majority of the items were processed food, except for the prawns, mushrooms, scallops, and shisamo. Example of $1 sticks (1 prawn, 3 slices of oyster mushrooms, 2 nuggets, 1/2 slice of fish fillet, 2 pieces of seaweed chicken). This is great snack food with beer in our opinion. Friendly staff.
Love the atmosphere and the service!
And love how the food is so crunchy and tasty. Their sauces are so yummy too! Especially the green Thai chilli and cheese! Will definitely come back ! Thank you:)
Lady Boss is friendly and helpful.
Highly recommended to try out the fried pig trotters bee hoon, bonless chicken wings and crispy oyster omelette. Laksa also nice. Finish with a stout on the tap.
Went there on a weekday 10pm. Not much people around so wait was pretty minimal.
Ordered a few fried loklok, the food was fried well and they did brush this dark sauce on the sticks and sprinkled some seasonings on them as well. The loklok was alright, just how it should taste like.
Ordered a deep fried enoki as well, oh well gotta say I'm quite surprised. Their enoki was well seasoned and batter was crispy, tho on the thicker side. Comes w a mayonnaise which goes well.
The - star is because of 1 of the service staff, a red hair boy. He was pretty rude during ordering. And when he served us the food, I saw he accidentally dripped the chilli sauce on my friend's pants. He knew the chilli dripped cause he looked, but just act like nothing happened. I think he didn't know I saw. Irresponsible attitude.
My experience was greatly enjoyable. I got the TomYum broth with my LokLok and it was one of the better soups i’ve had. Love the service❤️❤️ They were so friendly and accommodating that i would give 3 out of the 5 stars just for them! Also ❤️ the vibesss i’m getting from this place! 10/10 would come again
good experience here! friendly staff, chill vibes and good food at affordable prices. Open till 1am so its supper friendly:) highly recommend!! they have quite a big selection of food choices too🤤🤤
Its pretty solid lok lok, will definitely come again!! Could add more choices tho😅
Excellent part timer named Jing Wei! Served with enthusiasm and excellent service even though it is his second day working here. Will definitely recommend coming here for a late night snack or to chill as it opens till 1am.
Overall an enjoyable and affordable dining place. We like the laksa soup base while the kid loves the deep fried option.
One of the better Lok Lok places in sg. Satay sauce goes well with most items. The mushroom and fish is the best.
lok lok was delicious, and i really love the green chilli sauce! got the laksa hotpot as well and it was fragrant, really happy with the food!
First time here but definitely won’t be my last! There’s a server there named Jing Wei that made my day. Was very kind and approachable. Would highly recommend this place to my friends.
Pig trotter meehoon was really good!
New location and many more new dishes.
came all the way down from east area because their food was very good, everything was on point, environment was very cozy and would definitely highly recommend anyone to come here and try esp their boneless chicken wing!!👍👍
Do try their green chilli dip, really outstanding
Sticks are $1 each and the portion on each are reasonable for the price (unlike some other lok lok establishments)
Excellent atmosphere and place to chill with friends over a drink or two.
Price is attractive at $1 per stick!
Food was surprising good, especially the fried items. Batter is good with the Laksa hot pot
Cool place for a hotpot.
Wen Hui is a very friendly and helpful staff.. the food here is nice and the price is very reasonable.. 👍
