Very cost place, step in and nice and clean environment! Price is great and ease of ordering! Ordered and wait for collection. Food is excellent! The smell of fragrance rice and chicken is welcoming! We ordered set and aka carte items with good packaging. Ease to access as very near to MRT station. Staff is friendly.

Aircon place for a $3.50 chicken rice to chill out in a hot afternoon! A decent meal. Chicken is tender and rice is ok although it is less fragrant than my fav Boon Tong Kee & Golden Mile Thien Kee but those are priced higher so no complaints for a $3.50 meal. No free soup. Soup needs to order separately at $4.80 with lots of ingredients. Will try their chicken porridge next!

Price is very reasonable and if you top up $2.5, you get to choose the leg portion. The poached chicken is rightly cooked, the texture is just right. However the taste is quite pale and I need to rely on chili sauce. There is no complimentary soup either. It is a good place to go if you are around and want some fast food style chicken rice with aircon.

Tucked at an indiscreet corner at Singapore's Little India, Sam Leong St. Chicken Rice offers what they called a SGD3.50 "budget" meal that's an affordable yet delicious Singapore beloved chicken rice either in roasted or steamed (poached) form. Although served without the usual small bowl of soup elsewhere which I often found as nothing but boiled saltwater, they served half of a hard boiled braised egg as a standard instead. Both the rice and meat are not too oily which suited my liking. This business has an interesting origin, the portion is like your usual neighbourhood coffee shop but in a clean and air-conditioned environment in the often bustling Little India area. If you happen to be in this area, why not drop by for your local fix of this famous dish with a good serving of the must-have ginger and garlic chilli on the side? Plus, tourists will appreciate dining in a hygienic restaurant-like environment without the service charge and high price. Shout out to Ms.Wendy Li the Manager and crew member Wei Quan for their good service. Great aervice and food preparation from Ken, Haziq and Haq. Their takeaway has no extra charge for packaging and food was neatly presented (See photos) Please support our local food businesses and keep them running.

I saw an article talking about this historic chicken rice taken over by the boss of Putien and decided to try it out. The concept is like any fastfood style with a self ordering system. The place is air-conditioned and clean. The chicken is tender but the steam rice is a little too mushy. The disposable cutleries discounted the experience of eating proper chicken rice.

Very Fragrant rice with well roasted chicken, chill could be less watery. Aircon with clean toilets for a very reasonable price with the hot mushromom soup. Pork rib inside was nicely done and right amount of seasoning.

The best Hainanese Chicken Rice I have had in Singapore. Great food, and it is open till 3 am. so you can satisfy your late night food cravings at this place. Highly recommended.

What’s the hype? Quite frankly, after trying this chicken rice, I’m not sure what’s the hype. It’s not bad and that’s it. Everything was served in paper plates, bowls and utensils. The mouthfeel of the textured paper spoon just felt terribly wrong and a perfectly good enough reason to skip this shop. The sets are quite expensive and the portions are small. If you’re a bigger eater, you’re better off ordering 2 plates of chicken rice for $7. This is cheaper and better portioned than the set meal for one at $9.80.

Decent chicken rice to have. All meats are tender and not dry, slight bloody portion. Rice is fragrant. Ginger sauce quite watery. Every bowl of soup gets some ingredients in there.

Classic Hainanese Chicken Rice at affordable price, great taste yet with nicely renovated air-conditioned shop. What they're selling is not only the chicken rice but also the history for the location and founder's history.

Excellent plate of chicken rice at an affordable rate. You have to try if you live around this area. Service was quick! Just didn't have soup as the staff said no more.

Plus: not bad chicken rice for a very affordable $3.50 in a restaurant! Top up additional $1.50 for bean sprouts which is decent. Cons: no soup for the Ala carte chicken rice. They use disposable cutlery for everything. Portion for $3.50 is acceptable to me but I would prefer a larger portion version, say at $5.50, as it was not filling for me. Other comments: Ordering through kiosk means you cannot notify your preference (e.g. breast or thigh meat, boneless etc...). There were plenty of empty seats outdoors. Food was ready less than 2 mins after ordering, and that's all about service I guess. No frills lol
