Reviews of SAYBONS @ Bishan Junction 8
First time to come here ~ Saybons.
It’s a nice place to seat & so relaxing.
We try the signature dish - Le Nordic & DIY Cheesewheel Pasta. Taste is not bad.
But the Hot Latte need to be improved.
Great & healthy food
4/10 service, 11/10 food
Food is delicious, but service questionable. Staff were not very warm and friendly, and there was a broken speaker playing broken music.
Recommend the crepes & pasta.
What I do like is the beautiful interior and the fact that the food is fresh and natural, with no artificial preservatives.
However, on weekends waiting time might amount to 30-50mins!
Worth a try.
Had the crepes, mushroom soup and beef stew. They were generally ok. Mushroom was probably the best among the 3 because it tasted better than at most places selling the same thing. Stew meat was a bit tough. Soup was lacking a stewed flavor. It was closer to soup than stew.
Enjoyed Saybons for a very long time. A shame that their DIY salad is no longer on the menu but we love the affordable variety of well seasoned risottos if you're too lazy to prep at home!
Not a fan of the new paper over plates serving method but anything to reduce dishwashing costs I guess.
Had return back after a long covid break; same coziness. Love the environment.
A year ago post : One of the few shopping centre cafes that serve all day breakfasts sets. Glad to find one nice place that to chill and have a decent pot of tea with 2 tea bags. 👍🏻 to go along with my ice cream crepe.
Would not have ordered the galette if i knew they prepared it before hand which they also do for crepes. Not surprisingly, it was served limp n rubbery due to reheating. Lemonade was too sweet n not to my liking. Only saving grace was the seafood bisque that was very flavourable n would go very well with bread. But would return to try other items on the menu.
Nice hearty French soup and crêpes. Recommended for a light meal here. Soup bowl is getting smaller compare to the past.
I would like to share my pleasant dining experience with the staff of Saybons, Junction 8 branch. My friends and I have enjoyed the warmth welcome and friendly assistance given to us by Filipino staff named Nica. She is very informative with the menu and even suggested some to us. She patiently waited for us to finish our meals though we arrived a bit late that night but there is no single hesitation and feeling of rushing us considering we might end our meals late as well.
Another staff in the name of Jonie was impressive due to her constant follow up and checking if we needed something from our table. Generally, all staff are friendly, hardworking and committed to their assigned stations as I have noticed also that kitchen staff are efficient and fast.
Kudos to all for the job well done and making each your customer happy and because of your service and food, sure will come back for more.
Gone is the saybons of my childhood days!! Theyve expanded the menu quite a fair bit to include mains. Anyways I got myself a salmon crepe which was as good as ever (although whats up with the pile of pre-made crepes…??). The broccoli soup was a disappointment, it was like drinking liquified potato. Major regrets getting an entire bowl!
Ordered the Neptune breakfast + broccoli mozzarella soup set and the mushroom soup + garlic bread set. Liked the soups and garlic bread! Did not like the sausage.
Damage: $31.30
Cosy place for Pasta and crepes, overall is quite decent if looking for something simple
Simple “French” food? Well, some fusion-ish stuff were on the menu.
For about $40ish...
Prawn bisque risotto: the risotto was piping hot, broth had a good flavour, it was a little difficult to peel the prawns in this plate though, needed some pepper.
Mushroom soup: nice flavour, temperature - warm...
Something (something with crepe, egg, bacon jam, and sausages): meh... sausages were a little salty...
Tomato soup: more on the sour side than sweet.
Decided to have something healthy and chance on the shop while walking around. Love their Seafood Bisque and their Salmon is thick and juicy.
Enjoyed their wagyu breakfast. My every visit is simply wagyu. Thick, juicy and da best!
rather hard to find crepe places esp one with no whipped cream 😍 i love the crepes, and the add on fries and drinks set r super worth it. i usually order the diy pasta and the portions are always huge. My orders hv been gotten wrong a few times, but the staff were nice about it. thank you for opening at j8 🩷
I was there a while back with my friends to enjoy a quick bunch session. I would probably try their other food choices when I’m back 🫢
Writing a review for the number of times I've eaten at Saybons - the food is great & affordable, the service pleasant, and the ambience decent. Would recommend going there for the affordable & tasty Crepes!
Great service by the team. I accidentally spilled my piping hot cup of tomato soup and it landed on my left palm. I was in semi-shock and pain from the scalding heat but Shai (female cashier- manager?) quickly came to help. Led me to the kitchen to wash with cold tap water, gave me a bundle of ice, shifted me to a clean table, gave me wads of serviettes and one of the young service boy came me an ice bucket. Shai was very assuring throughout and even passed me a tube of antiseptic cream to apply. She swiftly made another serving of my ruined food, which I offered to pay, but she kindly rejected and said that wasn't necessary. I felt really bad for the mess but really glad with the help and assurance from the team. Thank you so much for the kindness ❤️
For the price a great place for a quick tasty meal/snack. The bisque is a favourite - but you don't need me to tell you that. Garlic bread was surprisingly good.
I always come by to eat the prawn risotto with the seafood bisque soup..
I decided to visit it again since i have not gotten their risotto for so long and i think the pricing of the food has gone up, but it’s still amazing as always. Just as i got my drinks and soup, i spilled my drinks all over and the staff immediately rushed to help me out, dry the table and got me a new cup. Such lovely actions ☺️☺️
The recent renovation was helpful to make the chairs here more comfortable. Ambience is nice and quiet. Food is good quality though for bigger eaters, the portion size might be a little small.
Loved the nutella hazelnut crepe with fries and lemonade combo. The food were served hot and delicious! Staff Chloe was helpful, noticed me being preggy and arranged a cushioned seat for me.
Pleasantly good. I had the salmon tomato risotto with drink+soup. Usually I don’t recommend any sides but the soup comes in a small cup and tastes pretty good. There are many options for soups. They also carry a unique brand of tea which I found to be very fragrant. The main salmon is cooked well and not too dry. Risotto itself is quite filling, good if you eat it slowly.
Saybons have been an established restaurant for many years now, although they were once really popular with many branches but some things nvr changed. The sweet crepes are still as good as I remembered, considerably worth every buck each time you take a bite into it. My favourite has always been nutty hazelnut, bursting with a generous amount of spread it just gets so addictive till you get the next one.
My all time fav is mushroom cheese crepe!
The soups are the best. Please get the seafood bisque and the mushroom soup, take them frozen if you can. I go to Bishan just for this!
Garlic toast n soups are a must eat...
Mini croissant 🥐🥐 is delivery too
It's a nice place to eat and have good food. While trying to give a French like atmosphere and appearance
Average.
had the Cajun chicken galettes, I didn't really like the spices and the chicken thigh was too fatty.
I enjoy Ready to Eat truffle mushroom pots, it is as delicious as cafe quality.
Service is slow. I noted effort is made to make the food look delectable.
it's slow and microwaved soup but the crepe and rissoto is amazing
Good for a quick bites. Cosy, food portion is just right for small eaters.
Nice place for meal as they provide good quality soup and mouth watering light meals.
Crepe and soup is good. Drink choices are limited
It's a nice coffee house at Junction 8, Bishan serving coffee & food
Love their range of risottos and the mushroom soup. Nv fails me~
i bought seafood bisque, the staff is helpful and fast in serving.
The savoury crepe is nice!
Great hotel. Friendly staff.
Payment cashless no CASH
