Reviews of Sky22 @ Courtyard by Marriott
Sky22 is now undergoing renovation, so the alternative venue is at Level 33. It’s a blessing in disguise as the view at L33 is really lovely.
Service was great. Food was decent. There’s so many options for the salad bar and the ingredients are fresh. Wish there’s more options for desert - currently only cookies and fruits.
The portion for main is quite little, but the semi-buffet style made up for the rest of the tummy space, so it’s still alright after all.
We topup $4 for coffee/tea. But the coffee cup is quite small and it’s not refillable.
Overall still highly recommend this place as the pricing at $25++ is fairly reasonable. Our final bill is approx $110 for 3 pax.
We ordered ala carte Laksa, Crispy Egg Noodles, and Mushroom soup.
The mushroom soup is fantastic!! Love the flavourful and aromatic taste of the soup paired with the bread by the manager.
The crispy egg noodles is also not to be missed! Big chucks of squid with 2 very fresh and tasty tiger prawn!
Also thank you to everyone service personnel that attended to us. EXCELLENT service and interaction.
Good view of the forest nearby. Not crowded on Friday dinner time. Service is good and food is delicious. 50% for Amex Love Dining is worth it.
2nd time here. Cosy ambience with high ceiling and unblocked view. Semi buffet and full buffet are available. Food was adequate, salad bar had large variety, ice cream tub was not cold enough... only thing that really needs improvement is the waiters & waitresses EQ. When asked to refill buffet food, waiters reply "i dont know" and walk away 🤣🤣🤣 Really need more training or better staff.... However, the restaurant manager is an extremely professional and well mannered man.
The atmosphere and ambience surprised me. The food is great and you need time to slowly savour the various dishes and if you do not control yourself, you are likely to end up having food coma, because you just keep eating because they are very generous with their replenishments! 🤭
It is a pity that the haze is back (PSI 88-108) otherwise you can have an excellent view from the 22nd floor on a clear night.
Strongly recommended for those who want a fusion between Western and Chinese food... And yes, the desserts are great to pamper your stomachs after a sumptuous meal. 5 🌟
Came here thanks to DBS’ birthday promo (not sponsored!)
I like the modern feelz of the restaurant. It’s open and bright, at the lobby reception of the hotel.
Sky22 Laksa was thick and good. Though it might be toooo thick & “gelat” after some time, but I’ll definitely order it again. Big serving too!
Tried the chilli crab pizza too. However, the Sky22 Laksa was more impressionable :)
Staff were friendly and brought us a small cake at the end of our dinner. Thanks!
Great place for a casual lunch. Given the view, ambience, semi-buffet and friendly staff, the price point is incredibly competitive. Main course may not be the best, but it's worth it all things considered.
Dine here a few times
Like the ambience and location
Quiet and nice
Food - average
Price- reasonable
Service- can be better
Great atmosphere and a awesome view. Quiet environment for good gathering or discussion. Food was fabulous and service is wonderful.
A good variety of healthy breakfast buffet selection, mainly for working executives. Pretty pack during peak hour. Resident might want to consider dining during non peak, in order to get "window seat" for a great panaromic view at level 22.
Sky22 @ Courtyard by Marriott delivered an exceptional high tea buffet experience for our recent company event. The F&B Manager and service crew provided outstanding customer service, going beyond expectations to assist guests with orders.
Special thanks to Ms Marjory Loh, Event Sales Executive, whose meticulous planning and friendly coordination ensured a seamless and enjoyable event.
Overall, Sky22 @ Courtyard by Marriott is a top-notch choice for hosting events, combining excellent customer service, lovely views at level 22, delectable food, and dedicated event support.
We strongly recommend it to any company looking for a standout venue.
Went for lunch and they had a special lunch set at 25++ with an appetizer, main and dessert included. Tried the pork rib and it was really tender, with crispy fries and it was really filling. Risotto was a dissapointment though (portion seems really small and not worth the price). However, the restaurant had a good birdseyeview of the novena area so tje ambience was nice. The service staffs were really attentive too.
Food: The fish and tenderloin were so-so. Crabcakes were very pretty good.
Ambience: Casual and nothing much to see at night.
Service: Staff were very nice and accommodating. Thumbs up.
Value: Food quality is disappointing for its price, even with 35% off Amex Love Dining discount. Unlikely to return.
Nice view of Novena and lots of Seafood on Father's Day Lunch Buffet.
Was there to celebrate Mother’s Day with our kiddo for the Peranakan Set Dinner. Ensure you make a reservation. Waiting time for the food can take some time. Ordered Salted Duck Soup, Glass Noodles and Ngoh Hiong as Appetizers. Beef Rendang, Fish and Prawns as the mains. Food is decent, but on the over-seasoned side. Just be prepared to wait for some time for the food to be served.
We had dinner at Sky22 in March 2023. The view of Singaproe skyline was great, but, alas, the food was only so-so. We ordered half-dozen satay (mix of chicken, beef and mutton), Tiger Prawn Laksa Lemak and Wagyu Beef Cha Kway Teow. The satay was the best of the 3, not as greasy and fatty than most. The prawns of Laksa Lemak were ok, but the laksa flavour was weak and subpar (Prima has better laksa mix than theirs). The Kway Teow lacked the "wok hey" (wok flavour) you get from traditional wok frying, and was so-so.
Lovely view from the restaurant. The lunch set is well priced at $25++ for a starter, main and dessert. Would be nice if coffee/tea was included to complete the meal.
I had the semi buffet and the salads (good quality greens and accompaniments to assemble your own) and the old cucumber soup were more enjoyable than the mains. Fyi the laksa dish does not come with cockles. The chicken curry dish was not generous in portion and breast meat was served. For the price, I expected only leg portions to be used.
Fairly large portion size. Nice landscape scenery. Ask for table by the window. Service is prompt and attentive. Can try the prawn laksa.
My wife and I had the semi-buffet dinner on a Thurs evening in Oct
2019.
Value for money
===============
At $22++ per pax due to a food app deal, the semi-buffet offered good
value for money compared to other buffets out there. Don't think it's
worth it if you pay the usual price of $36++ per pax though due to the
limited mains.
Do note that the dinner semi buffet is only available from Sunday to
Thur, while the full dinner buffet ($56++ normal price) is only
available on Friday and Saturday.
Food
====
In terms of spread, as a semi-buffet, it offered:
1. choice of 1 main (from 5 possible mains. Mains menu vary weekly. )
2. Unlimited soup (from 2 choices: old melon soup and tomato soup
during my visit)
3. Unlimited salads
4. Unlimited desserts (4 flavours of soft-serve ice-cream cones, 4
types of tarts, bread, 3 types of cookies and marshmallows, cut
fruits)
5. Unlimited self-service machine coffee
For the mains, we had the Singapore Laksa Lemak and Pork Schnitzel.
The Singapore Laksa Lemak had 2 big prawns (peeled, with head and tail
intact), though not as big as the Tiger Prawn Laksa offered on
weekends during their full buffet. Unusual ingredients included 3
quail eggs. No cockles. Portion was big, gravy was thick, though not
outstanding as it seemed to have too little coconut milk.
The pork schnitzel was a disappointment. The breadcrumb fried pork
chop meat was very thin, and in the cold aircon environment, became
tough very quickly. The only side was small potatoes which was so-so.
The salad bar was good, with highlights such as flannel and pumpkin
seeds, dried mango, and apricot. Don't forget to sprinkle your salad
with condiments from tray on the extreme right corner of the salad
bar.
There were no dedicated roast stations, sashimi counter, etc. during
our semi-buffet. We suspected this was also the case even during their
weekend buffets, which are more Asian/ Fusion centric.
Service
=======
The crowd was thin, even by the time we left the venue at 8:30pm. So
we were able to get prompt service when ordering our mains. Mains were
delivered close to the end of the meal.
On the flip side, one of the young male waiter was a little over
enthusiastic in taking away the three-quarters-eaten plates on our
table. This kinda disrupted our conversation. It would have been more
appropriate if the plates are collected only if the customer placed
them at one side, arranged the cutlery in the remove-plate
configuration, or left his table to go to the dessert bar.
Ambience
========
+ Situated at level 22 was great, Sky22 offered superb unblocked view
of central and even western Singapore, including Bukit Timah Hill.
+ Sky22 also functions as the Marriot Courtyard hotel main restaurant
and is modernly decorated with floor to tall-ceiling glass windows.
+ Tables are placed sufficiently apart compared to many shopping
centre restaurants. All seats have cushions.
- The air con was too cold, chilled the food too quickly and can be
toned down.
Getting There
=============
The only lift lobby that serves the restaurant is the same one that
serves the Marriot Courtyard hotel. The ground floor hotel-restaurant
lobby is NOT accessible from the inside of Royal Square @ Novena
building. To get there, we had to exit the Royal Square @Novena
building via the Novena Medical Suites lift lobby, and make 2
immediate right turns. It is a small outpost lobby with a small
service counter, as the main hotel lobby with check-in/concierge
counters is actually located on level 22, on the same level as Sky22.
Suggestion to Sky22: the Sky22 website doesn't publish its day-to-day
mains menu, which would have been a major driver in helping potential
customers decide whether to come or not. Sky22 may wish to consider
doing so to help their customers in decision making.
We held a event to host 70 people for lunch. Staff are exceptional and food is great. All my guests have praise for the quality and hospitality. Special thanks to the team at sky 22, in particular Sous Chef Henry Foong and his team of chefs working behind the scene, customising some dishes and delivered high quality. The roast pork was so good, perfect crunch. Laksa, many more. Dessert lychee jelly must eat. Thanks Cynthia, Freddie, and the Korean staff.
Attentive, polite and accommodating service by the junior staff( we were served by them mostly and they were quick to response I think due to where we sat was at a very far end of the restaurant, needed more leg work LOL) Quickly accommodated to my son’s allergies regarding a certain fruit ( after asking their more senior staff) and changed the dessert choice to another choice of cake for my son even though the set menu did not include it👍🏻
One young staff could not attend to my inquiry about whether the food there was halal ( maybe due to her nationality, she seemed to have not heard of the term before) but not an issue, she learnt something new that day on her job.👍🏻
Beautiful view, wonderful ambience, set lunch was affordable, sea bass was delicious, less salt in the prawn soup would be great :) thank you for a lovely lunch!
The photo I posted is not Sky22 for buffet but rather a cosy Thai eatery on ground floor - near the main entrance along the walkway to Novena church
Thai food is nice and affordable - they do employ real Thai workers so I get to practice my scant Thai language with them ...
do visit the place cheers
Wong Tsu Yi and Wency was very helpful with us for our entire lunch. Really enjoyed the time here, we had a very good birthday celebration here!
Good value for lunch. New and the staff are out to please. Good ambience too.
