Reviews of Soi 19 Thai Wanton Mee SPACE@KOVAN
The food was well done and very tasty. The flavours were good and it’s relatively filling if you are looking for a decent meal.
The only thing to take note is that the original Wan ton mee only comes in 1 size now, so you can’t really choose the portion size.
Also the side dish of vegetables did not have carrots are what was shown in the menu. So was a bit surprised by that, but it’s still a good meal nonetheless if you are around the area.
Returning to this restaurant since covid and the food was as good before. 👍
Both the original Thai wanton noodles and the black sauce version are very nice.
The fried wanton and the Thai sausage inside the noodles are very delicious.
Also ordered the fried pork, and it tastes nice and crispy.
Very nice eating house. Love the wanton Mee and Thai sausage. There’s Thai milk tea too! It was not crowded when we went there on a weekday night. Shop is air con.. just what we needed on this hot night.
Its located at a quiet place away from the crowd. The fish sausage and fried pork were really good dishes. The iced Thai tea was also good as usual. The noodle was also tasty. Overall good place to have meal and chill around.
came for breakfast, noodle is springy ❤️ recommended, drinks nubbad, but they served the food sooo fast hehehe
The Thai black noodles is nice with lots of pork lard. Have it with 3 types of chilli as it enhances the flavour. This place is simple and you order at the counter and wait for your number to be called.
Wanton Mee was good, texture was nice with a reasonable amount of ingredients. The fish sausage was super oily, a layer of oil at the bottom. Environment was nice and cozy, service was fast but don’t seems to be friendly.
Had a taste of this Thai wonton noodles when we stopped by this place for lunch and it was surprisingly quite nice for a dry wonton noodles. Very similar to the Sarawak Kolo Mee though I like the latter's noodles better cos it is more springy. They had a myriad of side dishes and also chicken / pig trotter rice if you want something rice-based. It's not too bad except that parking in that area is limited and so you might want to drop by slightly earlier than lunchtime. They do have a few branches so branch accessibility shouldn't be an issue. Best to eat in groups so that you can order a variety of side dishes to share!
Wanton mee is good! One original and one dark sauce, original bend with us better, dark was a tad heavier for our liking. Fried pork belly was good too, so was the Thai milk tea (thick but how wrong can TMT get? **Touch wood) crowd poured in around 1230hrs onwards. Recommended to pop by prior. Will be back to try the fried wings
Good selection of dishes. clean Eating area. air-conditioned. ordered their jumbo sized wanton mee, good enough to share between 2 people. spam fried were nothing special. the fried pork was nice buy oily.
I would recommended eating here.
They also have an outlet at JURONG East Street 13, near the CPF building
Updated 2 Dec 18, they have added more items to their menu
First time dinning here. Food price (no service and GST) and serving portions are reasonable and taste ok. Seems crowded during dinner time and enough seats to go around. Parking within the building is available.
Food wise, 5 stars. They somehow managed to make Thai Wanton noodle even tastier than the original.
Pork Sausage is spot on, savory and juicy.
Their staff wasn't as nice though. They really seemed like they hate their jobs, probably over tired from all the grab food orders they were getting.
Tried both the regular and black sauce versions. The large portion is sufficiently sprinkled with ingredients. The black sauce version tasted sweeter than the regular version. Will be back to try the soup version, as well as other dishes offered.
The milk tea and lemon tea are light on sugar - good for the health conscious
Had this b4 pre Covid days.. impressed with speed and the quality of food! Many side dishes were added.. although no free flow lard, it is more than sufficient for the amount per serving..
Used to eat the one at AMK. Just realised there’s one here 👍. Had the wanton noodle n pig trotter as side dish. Comfy with Aircon n not crowded on a Sunday morning 😀
Being a fan of the original soi 19 wanton Mee in Bkk, how can I not try one (with a similar name) in Spore!
I order the Thai wanton mee at $5.80 (they also have one with black sauce) and a bowl of wanton soup at $5.50.
The first sip of the soup doesn't taste anything like the Thailand version but it was still pretty good with lots of vege and even more pork lard! 7 good size wantons which I felt were pretty good. Now this may sound WEIRD, but the wanton has this familiar taste somewhere else in Singapore where the meat filling tasted a little like DURIANS! Yes u hear me right...durians! Not that I mind!
Next the noodles texture were very very Thai. Same goes for the sauce. Only thing is that it's Thai style wanton mee, like those u would eat in normal push carts... but not much resemblance to the original soi 19 in Bkk. (That said, I hear their standards has dropped alot recently).
Don't get me wrong... this bowl is still very delicious and value for money at the price with 2 nice fried wantons, some fish sausage, some dry char siew (this was the worst part of the meal), lots of vege and again even more pork lard!
It's a meal I would come back again for the value and the taste but if I miss the original soi 19, I still have to get my butt onto the next flight to the land of smile!
Overall, 7.5 out of 10. Would have been higher if they were not understaffed, with one lady basically doing the cashier, clearing and even taking orders from suppliers. The spoons were not refilled and the customers ahead of me has no chilli or cutleries in their takeaway food. So that service could have been better.
Always been a big fan of soi 19 amk and luck brings me to this branch. The noodle is awesome! I love the generous pork lard servicing and free flow pickled green chilli. It's better than the one in bkk
Wanton mee is nice and comes in 3 sizes to choose from.. fried pork rice is nice too but the rice is abit too dry (would have been better with more gravy). Fish sausage is tasty but surprisingly sweet. Good customer service.
Chill place and tasty food reminiscent of the actual Soi 19 in Pratunam. Wanton Mee, braised pig trotters and fried chicken wings are my favorites. The fried garlic pork (in picture) uses pork belly, so it's a little too rich in cholesterol for my liking.
Located at quiet Space@Kovan but it’s pretty crowded during the lunch hour.
The wanton noodle was pretty decent but my wife claimed that it was less flavourful.
I would strongly recommend to order their Thai Fried Pork as it’s delicious & super crispy but ain’t oily to the palates.
Crispy pork is highly recommended. Tried their original and black sauce noodle. Variety of ingredients, taste slightly on the bland side, add the chilli powder provided to make it more flavourful. Reach around 1145am, most seats already taken up by diner. Waiting time.during peak hours on a Saturday is around 5mins. The restaurant is clean and Brightly lit and ample car park space available at the building basement. Menu on the screen changes quite fast, you can ask for physical menu from counter.
Looked deceptively “clean”, as in dry and sauce less, but yet super tasty! I have tried the original Sabx2 in Pratunam Bangkok and I can attest that this is pretty close. Aroy mak mak!
I like the noodle. If u prefer a very dry style, this will suite you. But the pork was a bit dry, the soup so so. They gave alot of fried park fat.
Something out of the norm
Overall taste still good
The sausages are excellent!
Quick wanton mee fix! No need to fly Bkk! $2.80 milk tea not so worth. Everything is fine 😄
Recently ordered take away and they FORGOT TO ADD in lup cheong! :( still yummy thou.
They just renovated the place with neon light and nice decor. Nice!
First time dining in but have done take-away 2-3 times.
Surprised by the probably “five lady-like big mouth full” portion size of noodles for the Regular Bowl. Tasty no doubt, but I don’t recall the take away portion being this little unless due to inflation of late portion sizes have been reduced.
If you are in the area and craving for some thai wanton mee yup go for it. place is clean and tidy. service 👍🏽 and expect full house during peak meal times and waiting time too.
Portion is just met, considered overpriced. Ordered from Grab food. The taste is failing and losing out in its favour over the years when this noodle seller launched in Singapore. I think maybe due to complacency. For takeaways, the middle will become dry and “hard” vs having in their restaurant.
Maybe it’s best they can make it a bit wetter for takeaways to reduce the dryness and “hardening” effect.
Good Thai style wanton mee in air con comfort. Price of drinks on high side.
Love the thai fish sausage, original Thai wanton mee & bean sprouts. Lemongrass drink is nice too!
Their Curry Wanton Noodle is super good. Generous amount of curry together with chewy egg noodles. Topped with delicious fried wanton and Thai sausages.
I ordered the normal & black wonton mee + the pork sausages. All of them tastes pretty good but I like the normal wonton mee. I like the soup that come together with the mee especially when it's still hot. The condiments (chili flakes and green chopped chili) help to improve the taste of the mee.
The prices are decent. One thing I really like about this place is it's not packed and the cafe is using air-conditioner!
Very affordable price, crispy fried pork, nice fish sausage and springy wanton mee. No gst no service charge and in a place with strong aircon.
Will come back
Nice little corner shop with good food and fast service. The original wanton mee and fried pork were delicious.
Thai iced tea was good too!
The Black Sauce Wanton Mee and Thai Wanton Mee was a tad bit salty and oily but portion is huge! The pig trotters rice was average. A modern looking place. If you are looking to try a different style of wanton mee, you can come here to try!
Update: They moved from S’goon Shopping Centre to current location. Improvements were made on their wanton mee. Portion reduced, thai sausage complements the noodle. Price still affordable. A gem that is polishing up to serve the neighborhood.
Noodle is tasty but portions are small. Their boiled wantons also seem to have soft bones inside - didn’t enjoy that.
On a Saturday evening where finding a place for family dinner without jostling, stressing into mental waterfall for seats and patiently waiting for the diners to finish their meals and vacate, this place beats all the common challenges of weekend dinner out. not much crowd, spacious seating tables, and most importantly, delicious thai wanton noodles. why am i commenting so much about the place than the food? cos the comfort and stress level of the place can make difference in how the food taste. at least that's my feeling.
Nice wanton noodle from Thailand.. hidden at 4th level Upper Serangoon shopping center.
Take the lift from carpark to 4th floor and when exit, turn right.
Yummy, $5/bowl. 👍🏻
Wanton mee here was really tasty. The noodles were springy, there was much flavour in the noodles and ingredients, not very oily. Very much to my liking. Will recommend this to anyone
Simple, tasty, and good. Wonton noodle soup had a slight hint of sweetness aftertaste. Couple of side dishes was a bit oily but good overall
Favourite wanton mee. Not the usual local style, but the dry thai style wanton mee for their signature bowl. Pork trotter rice is also fantastic. Might look deceptively plain, but the sausage is extremely tasty. Fried pork is also great!
The original Wantan Mee really fantastic. Taste a bit like Sarawak Kolo mee, but with a difference.
Food is nice and ambiance too. Renovated nicely. We like the wanton mee, decent amount. But pricey for the fried pork rice
Taste like old school wanton noodle. Even have the 猪油渣。love it
Best Wanton Noodle in Spore.. Taste delicious 😁
Been a patron of theirs for a while, sometimes the noodles can be rather dry but the taste is always amazing. Take note that the Regular sized bowl does not include the sausages. If you'd like the full works, get the Large or Jumbo size instead. Their veggies aren't worth it as a side dish. Would recommend getting the fried pork as it's super crispy and fragrant.
Delicious noodles! Parking avail. Not crowded ard 5-6pm on a sat.
One of my favourite places to eat Wanton Noodle. We ordered the Original and Black Sauce Wanton Mee, and both taste very nice. Will be good if we can have an option to add more meat. However overall I like the taste and will come back again if I crave for Wanton Mee.
Noodles (plain/black sauce) - great
Fish sausage - great
Fried pork - great
Char siew - very average
Fried and soup wantons - v meaty but taste is very average.
Price - quite pricey for what it is
Flexibility in order - poor, very inflexible when it comes to customising orders. If there was 1 thing i could change, it would be this.
Service - average
Environment - average/good
It would have been 5 stars if they managed to keep their consistency throughout, because the food is really great. I frequent this place a lot and will still continue to do so. However, I have always encountered inconsistencies in their food. Sometimes, the soup is cold, other times the noodle isn't well seasoned. Must QC a bit. Otherwise, really good!
Best Thai Wonton Mee outside of Bangkok. I tried their classic Wonton Mee and Briaised Pork rice.
The Wonton Mee was very nice with crunchy sausage & springy noodles to give a nice texture. Healthy eater beware though, the meal is not for those who don’t like oily food...but for me it’s heavenly!
The braised pork rice was good but not great. The pork was more chewier than I expected. But it’s not the signature Wonton Mee that everyone loves!
Note on Location: they have moved from the upper Serangoon shopping centre to Space@Kovan.
Do try to get there before the lunch crowd...after 11:50 It will be close to 90% full.
If you are looking for good thai wonton mee, this is the place to be.
This outlet recently newly renovated and it feels new with the same delicious thai wonton noodles. I ordered original large, good enough. It has all sorts of textures and the condiments (chilli powder and green chilli) compliments it very well.
Must try: Thai crispy pork!
Parking is available across the road if you drive.
Tasty and chewy noodle. Wanton Mee with light seasoning with a hint of sweetness. Worth visiting again.
I have been dining and taking away in this outlet quite often. Recently I observe that there is no quality check for the ingredients given. For this price, ingredients are lesser and lesser too. Although I still love the springy wanton mee.
Example today I bought 5 mee, some have wanton. Some no wanton. Some have the fried wanton. Some no soup wanton. Some have 2 soup wanton. Some 0 wanton. I really don’t know why such variation. Really disappointed. The charsiew also small small bits size like bacon bits. I hope there is more QC done. If not slowly the crowd will move away.
Love the Thai wanton noodles and Thai fish sausages!
Just a #simple food story sharing session... Nice bouncy wanton noodles and dope sussage
Pretty consistent bowl of noodles and still tasty!
Nice Thai wanton noodle. There's choice of sauce and size so it is suitable for everyone. The price is reasonable too. Can either park at Space@Kovan or across the road.
Awesome. One of the Thai chinese eateries that had sprouted in this area, the other being Yaowarat Thai Kway Chap further down Upper Serangoon Road. Go for the jumbo size as the regular is a tad too small.
Wanton mee 5/5, chicken rice for the price $8, is probably a 2.5 stars
Texture pretty good. Like most Thai food, the noodle has a sweet taste to it. Overall, a must try!
The Thai wanton Mee is a must eat. Best to order some additional wantons as portion is quite small. Self service there but prices are cheap
Delicious 😋, I love bkk food all the time. Since we can't travel now.. So will come here often, another thing is the staff here very friendly n nice.
The Pig Trotter Rice is something to die for just dont order it with the Soup the Soup is too salty
Always good stuff and great food
The won ton noodle is the dry version. Not bad
Good springy and tasty noodles. Worth every cents :)
Value for money. Authentic Thai wanton mee taste.
Garlic pork, thai chicken and wanton mee... all v good!
Very nice noodle, highly recommended.
Lovely welcome. Delicious dish. Very fast service. Very reasonable price. We loved the little attention from the lady, putting on French music because we are French, we appreciated the intention.
Thai wonton noodles are delicious
Delicious wonton noodles.
it's good!! I recommend it!
