Reviews of South Union Park
One of the best and (most unique) pastas I’ve had 🙂↕️🤝🏻 My visit did not disappoint!
𝐃𝐮𝐜𝐤 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐭 𝐓𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞 ($28): Shredded duck, spinach, hazelnuts with masala cream. Homemade pasta reminded me of ban mian, but elevated to the next level. The sauce was creamy but garlicky, nutty and unlike anything I’ve tasted before.
𝐒𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐰𝐧 𝐌𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐤𝐨 ($26): LOVED THIS SM. This isn’t the usual pink mentaiko cream but a concoction of prawn butter ??? 😭 packed with umami and came with a generous number of fresh prawns. The rigatoni pasta just scooped up so much sauce !!! Love how you can choose your own pasta btw. But would highly recommend the rigatoni — this was so satisfying to eat.
Their cappucino ($6) was on a lighter and milkier side which I actually enjoy! P.S. This place has 1-for-1 mains on entertainer which is so worth. Will be back to try more pastas ⭐️
Check out my ig @mentaik.o for more food content! 🥰
Food is excellent. Loved the burger and the pasta. Very busy on a weekend dinner. Waited about 30-45mins as we didn't have a reservation. Staff was quite overstretched
Hidden in the landed estate, this is a busy restaurant that I’m sure I’ll return again just to try the other pastas and mains.
For 2 we ordered - breaded oysters, 2 pastas and an apple crumble. The oysters were crispy, hot and juicy and I wish we could have more lol. Pastas were very well seasoned and we cleaned them all up! Desserts I’ll definitely recommend the apple crumble!! The overall taste texture and bite was just amazing - the tanginess of the yogurt, the sweetness of the apple, the bite of the crumble and the vanilla ice cream… brb making my next reservation.
Tldr: Recommend the truffle kombu fries ($15) and mentaiko prawn pasta ($26) but skip the drinks.
There was a queue forming when we visited around 1.30pm on Saturday, but it moved quite fast and we were seated in 10 mins.
We ordered 4 mains which are 1 for 1 on Burpple, and truffle fries. Food was on the expensive side but portion was huge as well. We unanimously agreed that the mentaiko prawn pasta was better compared to the duck tagliatelle ($28) flavour wise, but it also completely missed the mark as none of us could taste the mentaiko inside. BBQ pork ribs ($26) came with sweet potato fries, freshly fried and piping hot. However the ribs was quite dry and a little hard. The sea bass ($26) can be considered a lighter choice compared to the above, both in terms of serving size and taste. Perhaps because it was served last and we were already inundated with the strong flavours from the other mains, we couldn’t really appreciate the delicate-ness of this final dish.
Among the drinks we ordered (matcha latte, lychee rose tea and matcha milkshake), the milkshake was the best. Matcha latte was such a disappointment and one of the worst I’ve tried. Matcha wasn’t strong and we could still taste the powder in the drink. They also don’t offer a choice of skimmed milk. Milkshake was better perhaps because it was blended and sweetened with vanilla ice cream. Iced lychee rose tea was basically just a tea bag and had a very mild taste.
Still a decent cafe for meetups and brunch dates if you have entertainer or Burpple, otherwise skip it. It’s around a 10 min walk from Kembangan mrt and no bus stops nearby, so not very convenient to get to in SG’s weather unless you drive.
Food is good. Carbonara is creamy. Pork with mash is also good. Portion is quite big which is good. Coffee is also drinkable.
Not much parking space. But went on a sat. Parked at the road side.
Kind of noisy indoor as the noise feedback is quite loud. Quite popular. So go early.
This place should have a higher rating. ☺️ The food is amaaaazing. The warm hun of the day and the super flavourful pasta and tender inside and crispy outside chicken parmigiana. Just wowed by the taste. True that the location is not too convenient, I brought my dog to Ruffcuts nearby so all good, I will definitely be back! Service is great too, open kitchen is nice to see the flambé effect and smells from the kitchen.
South Union Park offers a culinary experience that left me happy, satisfied, and excited. Their menu truly impressed me with its diverse range of flavors and skillfully prepared dishes. The seafood risotto was amazing with its generous portion of fresh seafood, perfectly complementing the tomato-y risotto. The Duck confit Tagliatelle had a delicate balance, where the duck flavor was present but not overpowering, creating a harmonious palate. However, it was the Sauteed food salad with Asian vinaigrette that stole the show. The vinaigrette, enhanced with a hint of wasabi and delightful yuzu notes, elevated the dish to a whole new level of excitement. South Union Park has truly given me and my partner a pleasant time dining that leaves us wanting more.
cute cafe in kembangan thats quite popular! we reserved a table in order to avoid the queues. they have fusion western-asian food and we ordered their prawn pesto pasta, duck confit hash, truffle konbu fries, duck confit tagliatelle, braised poulet leg, seared prawn mentaiko pasta.
love the pesto pasta so much! the pesto taste is super super nice and very rich and the prawns were so juicy. added on their homemade pasta which had such a great chewy texture to it
the fries were nicely fried and had a good crisp to them but the truffle taste was quite light.
Found this place and decided to visit with friends. It was quite a distance to walk from Kembangan MRT. We arrived after 6 mins, however, since we did not do any reservation prior, we waited about 15 mins with 2 group in front of us.
Right after we seated, the rain set in, just nice. There are plenty of options on the menu, we ended up with duck confit pasta, BBQ pork ribs, truffle fries, hazelnut dessert, mojito and latte along with 3 mushroom soup. Yea that is right, quite a lot for 3. We ended up left over the ribs and have it to go.
It came to our surprised that the crowd continue to build up after 2.30pm. A reminder to make reservation and be on time to avoid waiting outside. Overall experience was good, the food can be tastier, it depends on individual!
(Oops I forgot the truffle fries) Anyway, the KRazY gang unanimously agreed that this is a great find 🥹
The fall-off-the-bone pork ribs were well-seasoned, and even its accompanying sweet potato fries and salad were amazing. The handmade pastas were al dente and cooked in fantastically concocted sauces. We cleaned the plates of duck confit tagliatelle and crab pasta (red). The limited time only crispy apple galette was a great finish to our birthday celebration.
The surprise burpple 1-1 is a cherry on top for us.
10/10 will return for more!
This place pops up whenever I search for cafe near my place and I decided to make a reservation on a Friday evening to have dinner here. The place looks so quaint from outside, accentuated by bluish tint of sunset. The duck confit tagliatelle is so good and the roasted hazelnut really adds crunch to the already very delicious dish. The pan seared salmon is also very good. Will definitely be back here again to try other dishes and I have set my eye on the roast wagyu beef 😎
Update: the last time I came here was Nov 2022, over two years ago when I wrote the above review. I decided to head over here to savour their food again. While I did not have their roast wagyu beef (as yet), I am quite blown away by how good their honey tarte flambé and braised lamb shank. I am sure I will be back for their roast wagyu beef.
Pretty packed on a weekend brunch. Recommended to make reservations. Ambience wise, it's a simply furnished place. Can get noisy when it's full house. Food wise, quality was decent. The big breakfast was nothing to shout about. Croissant was pretty average. However the truffle kombu fries was nicely flavoured and addictive. Drinks here is slightly on pricier side.
Pastas were always consistently good. The truffle kombu fries were delicious as well! Staff were always polite & attentive.
South Union Park is another gem hidden in Kembangan. The quality of the food is high. But it is not cheap. I have been eating at South Union Park for years. The owner used to be based there but has since moved to another set up. The restaurant is bright and airy. The customer service is very good. They try their level best to serve. I ordered the Flaxseed bread with butter. It is baked in house. It arrived warm and fresh. The butter is nice. This is paired with a cup of flat white coffee. The coffee is good but not exceptional. My wife ordered the duck confit breakfast and she loved it. The flavor is right. You know that they use good quality ingredients. I will review other dishes when I make a repeat visit. Try this out.
Hidden gem in Kembangan not to be missed. We brought our family here and everyone loved it from mum, aunt to grandma. The roasted vegetables is one of our favourites that we order every time we visit. Must trys are the squid ink bone marrow, duck confit tagatalie and slow cooked beef ribs. Oh yes and their amazing soft fluffy brioche bread... You've got to try it.
So happy that they are now currently on entertainer 1 for 1 but frankly, I would have paid full price anyway.
Excellent find in my opinion. Portion was decent, but the price was still slightly high. Ordered the duck pasta, burger, pate, roasted vege salad and a tart for just under $100. The liver pate was the standout for me. the burger was simple but delicious. Duck pasta could have been a little bit more Al dente but the duck meat fragrance was present but not overpowering.
Small cozy cafe that serves a good variety of pasta and mains. We had the duck confit tagliatelle, crabmeat pasta, pommery pork chop and the pork ribs. Pasta was al dente and portions were good sized. The hazelnuts complemented the flavour of the duck confit pasta. Crabmeat was plentiful. Pork chop was tender and the pork ribs were fall off the bone. Good experience overall. Will be back.
I accidentally found this hidden gem that is near my house.
The vibe is great and their menu makes you want to order everything.
Food was absolutely terrific and it’s served fast. Especially the sea bass was so nicely done. Normally I’m not a big fan of cooked fish but this one is exceptional.
Their drinks are lovely too. Highly recommended!
The food here was SO GOOD!! Great experience, the food came really quick (less than 5 min after ordering) and the seafood was so fresh. We got the vongole, mentaiko and duck pastas, the seared prawn salad and truffle kombu fries. ALSO I got a matcha latte and it was delicious!!!! Nice gao and bitter :) would really recommend, remember to make a reservation
Food creations bursting with creativity. Nestled in a quiet corner of Kembangan, this small and comfy eatery is your best answer to a hideaway afternoon brunch. I was invited to a light lunch pre-event and we were on an anonymous visit. The venue, location, decor and how the food service operation was run, endearing and prompt table service, totally enticed us. My in laws lived a street away and yet none of us knew this place. Brunch Menu is a little lean but you can tell from the full house dining and the lean kitchen team their hands are definitely full. Yet as their menu suggests, bakes and pastas are made fresh in house everyday. I only tried the Squid Ink Bone Marrow, and had a beer as I was due for another tasting event after. The flavours, presentation, absolutely blown me away. Keep up the good work and do expand your menu. My friends and I all agreed we will definitely be back. A point to note is the very limited parking. Though Roadside illegal parking seem to be the norm. As others had commented, it's hard to reach by public transport, but there's always Grab.
Found this place through Google in 2021 & 1st visit was with hubs. Brought different friends to this place on other occasions.
What I love:
Their 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟Sautéed Prawn Salad, Deep Fried Baby Squid Skewers, Duck Confit Tagliatelle and Truffle Konbu Fries 😋😋
However, during my recent visit in May 2022, my foodie friend and I found that the standard of their Duck Confit Tagliatelle has dropped.
A saving grace is that their portions are huge. So if you are small eaters, do order different dishes to share.
What I like:
Their overall ambience and decor is nice and quite cosy.
They serve foods pretty fast .. which is very important when you are hungry or hangry ☺️
All in all, their service is ok. It’s good that they accept GrabPay. Reserving a table is also easy via their website.
I do enjoy taking a 10min stroll to the nearby Kembangan train station after a satisfying meal.
What I don’t like:
When it gets crowded especially on Friday nights, the place gets pretty noisy (I agree with other reviewers .. it gets echoey and dining isn’t as pleasant anymore.
What I recommend:
If you like quieter places like me, go in the afternoons and weekdays to avoid the crowd.
Ordered the signature duck confit tagliatelle and pommery pork chop. The portions are really generous and foods are tasty too. The amount of duck confit is quite a lot and the flavor is really nutty and more towards salty and savory side. A nice twist to the usual Italian pasta dishes. The pork chop is really tender and it's thick. The mashed potato has nice texture and the apple is a refreshing balance to the dish. Overall the foods are good and ambience is quite cozy. However, if you're not using the 1-for-1 deal in Entertainer or Burrple then the dishes are more on the pricey side.
Impossible burger $24 and chicken pasta $22 I think. I went on 6 Nov, Friday. Reached slightly before 7 pm and right when we sat down, we were told that we had to leave by 8 pm.
The food wasn’t worth the price I feel. It was not bad but it wasn’t great. The ambience was just okay.
This restaurant is might be crowded on a weekend night, so be sure to reserve a table before visiting. Ordered the wagyu burger which was an absolute delight. The bun was toasted just right with a tinge of sweetness. The patty was also good, and the portion though seemingly small, is actually satisfyingly filling. The seabass also had a generous portion.
Ambience is bright, clean and open. They have an extensive menu and many of their dishes are decent and palatable. Presentation is done well. I went with my family on for Sunday lunch and the place was crowded. Do be prepared to spend quite a bit as most mains are above 20sgd non-inclusive of gst and service charge.
Service staffs are attentive and food (especially when coupled with Burpple 1 for 1 discount) is value for money! Visited on eve of PH and it was one of the few restaurants on Burpple that allowed the utilisation 1 for 1 deals. Ordered the Duck Confit pasta, Salmon and their signature Brownie. Pasta decreased in portion size quite significantly over the years but taste wise, is still pretty solid, especially since they boast handmade pasta! Salmon on the other hand, wasn't very memorable but brownie is definitely a must-have!
Duck Confit Tagliatelle - surprising flavours, with zingy freshness of the citrus notes, nutty savoury taste of hazelnuts and creamy sauce.
Squid Ink bone marrow - Tasty, fatty & savoury. Tomato and onion taste is very well balance with the earthy taste of the squidink. The bread has a perfect crisp on the surface which was a delight.
Wagyu Roast beef (special time only) - this dish has a good char and fragrant smokiness. The meat retains tenderness with a good chew, and every bite is juicy.
Apple Crumble - unique presentation, though i thought the spices in the apple marinade could be further increased toelevate the experience. loved how they used yoghurt to tie in the sour and sweet of the apple and vanilla ice cream.
Love their handmade tagliatelle very much, freshly made. The seafood pasta wasn’t cheap but it came with a lot of seafood.
The honey fried chicken was crispy and tasty!
The Squid Ink Seafood Risotto — a bit salty, not my fav.
The Hazelnut Praline Choux was well presented, it taste yummy however it remind me of “Kinder Bueno” 😝
3rd visit to Sourh Union Park, love their brunch, very special and delicious!
We had the prawn salad, wagyu burger and the pork chop.
The salad was very interesting. The combination of pomelo, prawn and dressing went quite well together.
The burger was alittle over done for my liking (asked for med rare and it came well done) but the pork chop with apples and potato purée was fantastic. Definitely the highlight of the meal.
I have visited this place afew times now and would say that is consistently good.
Had the chocolate pappardelle with braised beef in red wine sauce today. It was *chef’s kiss* superb! Would be nice if they had more alcohol selections tho. Their delectable pasta dishes will pair nicely with craft beers and good wines.
Recommended by wife's colleague who stays around the vacinity. Gotta be good, else won't have recommended this place.
Indeed the food are excellent! Their pasta are homemade and it was flat and thin and resemble almost like the Chinese flat noodle known as Mee pok! But their version is better!
Waygu beef MB4/5 was medium done, quite cheeky meat.
Waygu beef burger, a little disappointing as the beef patty was quite dry. Else it would have been perfect. The french fries was so crisp and so much better than McDonald one. 😉
Cream Brule and Brownie with salted caramel ice cream are yummy! Gotta try it!
Definitely a hidden gem tucked inside Kembangan residential area.
Passion meets Local, meets one of the bast meals I have every had- and I am a chef who travels the world. This is a gem, a very special ....epic local hidden treasure. My Lady and I had an excellent meal- the flavors were so very well made, blended and exciting- this is great value for money, I would have paid double for it- glad I did not have to. This is a couple who operates their business with passion for both the food and their service. I have to say....I was nearly in tears for finding theses folks, this food...this wonderful place to have food love. The meal will make your mouth water, and you will melt with the depth of love here.
A hidden gem in the neighbourhood. We went on a Friday evening and the place was packed. I had their signature duck pasta and it did not disappoint me. I tried my friend's order or pesto pasta and it was delicious too. We had two desserts too and it was good. Will come back again and recommend this place.
The Chocolate Pappardelle was what brought me to the restaurant. It was at a residential area with the nearest bus stop quite a distant away.
The chocolate papparselle was delicious and was a cross between beef stew and pasta. There's a slight hint of chocolate smell but that was about it. The curly fries was battered and crisply and was a nice beer companion. The chocolate cake with caramel ice cream was a good ending to our culinary tasting. The cake was moist and rich in chocolate.
The service staffs were polite and professional and the establishment served free tap water.
First visit was great amazing loved the squid ink bone marrow, pork chop, pavlova eyc.
Second visit was really disappointing. Pork chop was dry and tough. Bread was dry. Squid ink bone marrow came hot but the inside was cold. Imagine eating cold oily bone barrow. Ew.
And the appetisers and mains were all served all at once. Which is a pet peeve for me as I felt I was rushed and the food were getting cold cos I had to quickly eat as I want to taste everything when it’s still hot. Really disappointing :/ not sure if I would visit again. I stopped taking pictures as I was really upset about the experience.
Had the duck pasta and crabmeat white pasta. Both were delicious and saucy. Got the handmade pasta and like that the texture had a nice bite. The roasted vegetable salad was disappointing though. It tasted like deep fried rather than roasted, soggy in oil and had an oil smell aftertaste. Price a tad expensive. For the above 3 items, we paid $104 for a casual lunch. Despite these, will still return for the pastas! perhaps share two plates amongst 3 people as portion were generous, that’ll help to lighten the cost.
One of my favourite places for pasta. This is a nice restaurant nestled in a quite neighbourhood. Been here a couple of times and decided to take some pictures. I had the aglio oglio tagliatelle and it was fantastically executed. We also ordered the wild mushroom risotto, lobster pasta and angus ribeye steak.
Quiet, spacious and cosy cafe in the neighborhood. Serves finger food, mains and dessert. Bottled beers available. Surprisingly good quality food and attentive service that may justify the price tags considering its non-prime location. Tried the pastas and crabcake which were tasty. Very aromatic tea in pot. A gem in the east! Will be back to try out the other menu items.
The staff here are very friendly and patient. They are also really attentive so you don’t need to do that awkward arm waiving to get their attention. The food is pretty good although it’s better to come with a friend or two and share the dishes as they are pretty rich in flavour.
The risotto is good but once again, has a really rich flavour.
It’s pretty close to the mrt station too.
Tips for improvement:
Write down the daily specials somewhere, I could barely recall what the dishes were.
For the flat iron steak special, I’m not a fan of the olive oil + sweet potato mash combo, i’d rather just have the sweet potato mash alone. The steak has some pretty good marbling but it didn’t melt like a good steak would. The meat wasn’t exactly tough, it felt more like a stewed meat than a steak. Also the herbs overpowered the taste of the steak.
Cover your water containers, It’s okay if you only add in the water when a customer is there but I saw a group of 10 containers just sitting out in the open with no cover.
Tried out South Union Park after having great experiences at their sister cafe Eleven Strands. We ordered the wagyu cheeseburger and the duck tagliatelle which came in hearty portions. Overall, a pleasant experience with room for improvement in service and desert variety.
Ordered the spicy arabbiata and prawn mentaiko pasta with burpple 1 for 1. Tasty and filling but abit too oily.
Went there for a date night, it was pretty loud inside the restaurant because it was full on a Thursday night.
Ordered the breaded oysters, pork ribs, and beef shank pasta, followed by the hazelnut praline choux for dessert.
- breaded oysters damn on point, best eaten immediately when served. The batter was light and crispy.
- beef shank pasta we got tagliatelle which is +$3 but worth it. The pasta was Al dente and the beef sauce coated it well.
- pork ribs was super tender with meat falling off the bone. Curly fries were crispy and good, coleslaw was normal.
- praline choux was very syok, crispy almond pralines on top with a light hazelnut cream in between.
Quite impressed all food was served within minutes of each other. Staff was nice and attentive even though the restaurant was packed.
Overall would come back again, food was extremely satisfying.
Call beforehand to reserve a seat. 15mins after we came, the restaurant filled up very quickly.
We ordered crab tomato pasta, duck confit pasta The pasta were delicious, dessert yummy too. With prompt and polite service. We were 2 adults and 1 kid so I appreciated that even though we had to sit separate (due to Covid rules being 2 per table) , the waitress helped us spilt our order of fries and dessert into 2 so we could try these items.
Though the location is a bit ulu, it’s worth the travel. The open kitchen is also cool, I like that you can see how the chefs and team work.
Sorry forgot to take pic of food
Both the seafood risotto and baby pork ribs were flavourful and tasty. Portion was just right too. However, the sweet potato fries that came with the ribs weren’t hot (room temperature). Price is a bit on the high side, but they’re on Burpple and Entertainer so the price after the discount is okay. The cafe is located about 5-10 mins walk (uphill) from Kembangan mrt. It’s also not too crowded on a weekend and you can make a reservation.
One of the best pasta ever. Tucked in a corner in Kembangan not the most accessible so do ensure reservation is made. Quite small so may not get a seat easily.
Food is great despite that it’s bit far from city. Love their handmade pasta! Their sourdough tastes delicious too!
Average food. The menu, atmosphere and service are all nothing to shout about. Prices are expensive for what they give, averaging $20ish. Portion isn’t generous either. Wouldn’t come back again but am not upset I tried it I guess.
Great little cafe in Kembangan area, just next to some private houses. Duck confit tagliatelle is one of their signature dishes and it offers a nice fulfilling bite with hazelnuts thrown in. Coffee there is also nice but don't expect much of the cakes.
Service was excellent with a very engaging server and food is really good. I like that it's a bit out of the way cos there's no crowd and the cafe doesn't deafen you with all the chatter from diners.
The perfect quiet hideout to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, with excellent food. Yesterday we went in only with the intention for dessert, and as always the brownie ($11) was amazing. Warm, soft and moist with the perfect balance of Vanilla ice cream (we requested for it instead of the typical caramel scoop)
Thought we give the homemade artisan bread a try tho pricy ($8) but it was warm and fluffy, with a light and salty touch of butter it was great!
Mains are on the pricier end ($28 on average?) but I’m sure I’ll be back for it.
The duck tagliatelle and beef short rib pasta were both delicious. Very worth it with Burpple, if not it'd be slightly pricey. Staff were also super friendly!
Found this place via Entertainer. Food was interesting good! Staff was attentive to us. Nearest MRT (Kembangan) is about 10 minutes walk away.
Nice meal
Very special handmade noodles
However the coffee was just normal which tasted not strong enough for me.
Had the brunch menu of oven baked eggs, food was decent. We sat near the window and enjoyed the natural sunlight. Place gets popular during peak hours
It is a neighbourhood eating place for the landed properties around. Not enough parking lots outside the shop. Food is good. But before we are brought to our table at 5.45 pm/6 pm the waitress already told us we have to leave by 7 pm. Don’t have much time to go through the menu since first time there to celebrate the birthday of two friends. Close to 7pm the waitress came again to sort of like remind but then the desserts were delayed for a while so we can only leave after 7 pm. Felt like we are being hurried. Our water was not refilled also. Not sure why.
Another waitress present is more friendly and always have a smiling face. At least she compensate for the other waitress in terms of service.
Nice hidden cafe. Quite a hard to get to place and parking space is limited. The food is good but nothing to write home about.
South Union Park is a fav, go-to eatery in my neighbourhood for delicious salads, pastas, mains and desserts.
For Christmas meals at home for the last few years, my guests enjoyed their tasty turkeys and hams with side dishes. Their roasted vegetable salad is very good.
Was my 2nd time dining there. Very good food. Had the seabass the first time which was alright and this time ordered the pork chops. It was very good. The chop was a generous thick chop on top of mash potatoes, purple cabbage and apples. The pork was lean but very moist and juicy. Could've been a little more salted to balance out the buttery mash potatoes and sweet apples.
What blew my socks off was the Apple Galette dessert...oh delicious!!!!
Can't say much about the service though, attentive enough but very task oriented vs friendly service.
Great homemade pasta that is worth every penny. Most places can't get the fresh spaghetti right but they manage to nail it here.
I had the entertainer app which made it tremendous value. Would totally pay full price even with the shell chips from the shellfish.
Easily the best pasta place I've tried in the East and is conveniently located if you drive. Not a lot of parking right outside but in this area there's plenty of free parking around.
Have been coming here for a while, this is one of the few cafes in SG serving "real" food and not just poached eggs. The squid Ink Bone Marrow is a new addition to the menu- super tasty and a perfect starter for sharing. Sadly it only comes with four pieces of bread (I think 6 would be just nice to mop up the ingredients) and they actually wanted to charge us additional $4 when we asked if we could have more bread. Pls don't be so cheap! It's bread!
Good food menu options. Food is on the pricey side. Drinking water is available in glass pitchers.
Super salty baked veggie. Good tasting dishes but $$$$. Not a good place for a date cos of the noise.
Good quality food with wide variety at cafe price.
Nice ambience.
It's a big challenge finding proper al dente pasta in Singapore and I am so glad South Union Park does it correct!
Had the duck & crab pasta and both were really tasty in their own way. Thumbs up to the duck pasta with a wonderful paring with the hazelnuts.
Room for improvement for the foie gras dish but great place for people who like having properly made pasta
Food is only okay. Ordered their signature pasta, duck) and was quite disaapointed.
Blending of food in the kitchen was so loud and affected our conversation. Feels like we are eating in a car workshop. This another one area to improve.
Their truffle fries were delightful.
Food quality is not that good to warrant the steep prices.
The pasta and risotto are both super delicious. The salad was a pleasant surprise. Not cheap, but good portion. We were so full that we actually regretted ordering a bit too many starters.
Food is very yummy! Had the ribeye steak medium rare. Beef was very good quality and it was done to perfection! Only slight grouse was that there was a little too much seasoning but that's only cos I'm a beef fanatic. The brownie with salted caramel ice cream on top was also fabulous. Plenty of free parking. Was quite quiet for a Sunday dinner (but they do events that book out the whole place, so good idea to call to check). All things considered, perhaps slightly pricey but would still go back for a good steak.
Fantastic pasta dishes. Great textures and flavor profile. Really loved the butternut squash ravioli. Everything was on point. From the sweet fillings to the rich creamy sauce.
this is one cafe to look out for! the owner is an avid foodie who loves to explore and push the boundaries of singapore cafe food. everything here is made with much thought, research, testing and love.
The owner would introduce new dishes every few months ensuring the customers are always in for a new treat everytime they return
Super overpriced food with low standards. Mushroom soup was way too salty and diluted at $12?! Beef burger was more expensive than a burger joint in MBS, smaller, and forgettable. For the ambience, location, pricing, food standard, you can find much better food elsewhere.
3 stars because I dislike giving 1.
Thou a tad pricey, my friends and I enjoyed the sea bass, baked egg and spaghetti. The SUP brownie was pretty good too!
Honestly there's a certain charm about this place that, combined with the quality of their reasonably-priced menu, makes it a firm favorite. Hopefully things stay like this.
Hidden neighbourhood cafe with quality food 👌🏻
Crabmeat Pasta @ S$25
Al dante linguine with a generous portion of crabmeat served in a tangy tomato base with a slight kick to it.
Beef Ragout Pasta @ S$26
Tender stewed beef chunks served with mixed mushrooms and al dante cannelloni.
Sup Brownie @ S$12
Fudgy chocolate with crisp exterior topped with salted caramel ice cream and candied walnuts with butterscotch drizzle.
Overall, amazing quality of food but wished the pasta was handmade given its price point.
