Reviews of Takagi Ramen - Jurong West
A small cosy restaurant with about 8 indoor tables and bar tables with two alfresco dining.
Ramen tastes average and extra ramen is welcomed.
Improvements I can suggest are to clean the condiments like the sesame grinder and other sauces every few hours and also to lower down the volume of the queue display.
Decor is alright.
The tonkotsu ramen here is an absolute culinary delight. The broth is rich and creamy, with a deep, savory flavor that comes from hours of simmering pork bones. It has a luxurious, velvety texture that perfectly complements the tender slices of chashu pork, which practically melt in your mouth. The noodles are cooked to perfection, offering just the right amount of chewiness to balance the richness of the broth. Topped with fresh green onions, a soft-boiled egg, and a sprinkle of sesame seeds, each bowl is a harmonious blend of flavors and textures. This tonkotsu ramen is a must-try for any ramen enthusiast, delivering a comforting and satisfying experience that warms both the heart and soul.
Comfy place, delicious ramen at a very affordable price, open for 24 hrs, nearby to bus stop, recommended for tonkotsu ramen, volcano soup, black tonkoysu gyoza & free ramen topping. They also serving traditional kopi 😄
First time when I ate it two weeks ago, I had waited for almost 30mins for the order to arrive and I had gone at 6pm. The duck was really delicious and soft so had craving to eat it again today. However was left disappointed as the duck was tough (had trouble grabbing the meat with my chopsticks and had to use teeth to bite them off instead. The flour was too much and I stopped eating it halfway. Waited for 15mins today which had improvement as a lady staff was assigned to take care of all the food delivery orders.
Affordable ramen with good broth. But the pork slices are super thin compared to previous times we were here. Top up ramen is very affordable too, at $0.85 per portion. Ramen cooked to al dente, perfect for us.
The place after renovation has been hot and uncomfortable. They never turn the aircon on at all at 6.45am The temperature in the restaurant was inhumane. Sitting outside would’ve been cooler
Food was ok. Mild decline in the past few months but still decent and edible
There’s little to no service as affordable as may be it’s mostly a help yourself kinda place
Very affordable price, delicious and excellent service. Waiting time is short. Very value for money. They have daily special menu serving from 11am to 3pm.
Located in the heartlands of Jurong West, this is only Takagi outlet that is open 24hours.
There are several Takagi Ramen outlets in Singapore but this is the only one that's open 24/7. The concept and the interior decor of this outlet feels very much like a restaurant that's in Japan. There is a self service kiosk at the entrance where you order your desired dishes and pay electronically, thereafter you head into the outlet and get a table. This is very similar to the concept in Japan.
Food isn't the best but considered it is 24hours, you should really drop by to experience it yourself.
always love my meals at takagi ramen jurong west branch! the staff here are very friendly and fast service, the food here is very tasty and use natural ingredients, affordable too! the place is clean and bright with nice music at the background, very cool and comfortable temperature with good ventilation as well! love the 24 hour service too!
[Takagi Ramen] Singapore, 12 Mar 2022. Ordered 1 for 1 black tonkotsu with gyoza and 2 banana milk for 19.90 . Added another Takagi Ramen. $30.10 SGD for 3 pax via delivery.
Overall: 8/10
Food Taste: 8/10 (ramen was decent)
Presentation: 9/10
Environment: N.A
Service: N.A
Value: 9/10 (ok with 1 for 1 set via grab)
Good decent ramen in the neighbourhood. The soft shell crab ramen actually tasted quite good. Nothing to complain, it’s great for its price which is the same as what you’d get in Japan (unlike other places which would cost waaaaay more)
Ordered from foodpanda at 3 am in the morning!! LOVE THE FOOD 1000% but the packaging and all the extra notes and stories are so heartwarming!! I could see the sincerity of the restaurant!! Definitely love to eat at the store soon to redeem my edamame as well ><! Enjoyed the meal!
Have been to this Ramen stalls many times island wide, now at Jurong west is 24 hrs , ramen is still so delicious, they have different menu up to 11am now
They have shifted to this new location , do take note, is along the main road.
Will come again next time
Price for my bowl of Ramen is at SGD 5.00 with side dishes.
Keep it up
Friendly staff
Would like to commend the manager of Jurong West outlet, Thi Ha. She is very helpful. She makes sure my wife received her order correct. My wife requested for her soup to be less salty due to her health and it was delivered as promised.
She even comes over to our table to check if the order is correct. Friendly and helpful.
Thank you Thi Ha!
Had their ramen on several occasions via delivery and this is my first time dining in for supper. Food and quality is good and price is very reasonable. Another 24h food option on my list!
Abit dumb the way they separated the extra noodles for a dry ramen. There’s no extra sauce on the side to add to the extra noodles so all I’ve got is a whole chunk of dry and sauceless noodles. It still tasted great lol
Food is good but the dining atmosphere is very cramped. Who on earth discard unwanted aircon compressors in the dining area?
Great place. Staff were very friendly. The place is small but comfortable. The outside is windy! Food is great and much better than some of the more mainstream brands. I had a Salted Egg Crab Ramen (soup). It was very flavorful, though fairly salty. Value for money and I enjoyed my time here. Will come back again soon. :)
Ordered a Takagi Ramen, Karaka-men and Black Tonkotsu Ramen.
Takagi Ramen: Broth is tasty.
Karaka-men: The spice is quite different from the other spicy ramen that I have tried. But overall worth the try!
Added on the set meal, where I got Gyoza, Takoyaki and the Ebi. Small portion but tastes good as well.
Just a slight comment, broth is not that salty. Not sure if it's meant to be healthier or what, but I do hope it can be saltier a bit!:)
Overall, will come back again to try the other variety of ramen!:)
The price was very affordable! Tonkotsu broth rich in flavour but the noodles felt too mushy. Side dish were below average - gyoza is cold.
And the service is slow due to too much delivery orders. Waited 30 minutes in queue plus another 30 minutes waiting for the food.
We definitely need more 24 hour ramen stores with value-town prices! Check this breakfast ramen sets with me and my girlfriend for barely above $10 total! Soup and Dishes are awesome especially the tofu and the Fishcakes!
If u are a manga fan, you would love the manga lined on the walls! Its a great aesthetic to a cosy looking ramen store!
Broth very thick, doesn't have much flavor to it. Free Upsize noodles and place a bit small and squeeze. Tried the brown sugar bubble tea, tasted average and too sweet.
Affordable restaurant. 4th time ordering their breakfast set. Husband joked that they should give me a membership card 🤣
Nice cosy place with great food. Reasonable pricing. Deco is nice, with manga pasted the restaurant wall. A lot of seating for such a small place.
The only thing I dont really like is the ordering kiosk at the enterance, which is kinda blocking the way when entering and exitting the place. Other than this, the place is great!
The takoyaki and gyoza were good, but the star which was suppose to be the ramen turned out a little too spicy, there wasn't an option to change it to be less spicy. The black tonkotsu ramen was nice but some may find the broth a tad bitter.
Good, affordable ramen located conveniently. Soup was savoury and tasty. But place was slightly small and patrons had trouble walking in and out as well as as collecting their order.
You are spending what you get in terms of quality so for the price point it is average.
Broth is good. Noodles is OK - not so springy but not terrible.
My sous vide egg was broken but my friend’s egg wasn’t so there is no consistency.
I tried the char siew and pulled pork and they aren’t great - char siew wasn’t marinated well and feels like you are chewing some cold cut.
Delicious ramen at a cosy little shop with reasonable price. A recommended Japanese restaurant to dine.
Acceptable ramen considering the price you pay for it. It's pretty affordable but do not expect too much from it.
I must say this is one of the best ramen in Singapore. Before I knew Takagi Ramen, I would always go for Brothers Ramen and Ramen Taisho. These 3 brands are the best ramen in my opinion. The staffs at Takagi Ramen were friendly, they look happy and cheerful, they treat customers like their friends, this is very important as happy staffs make delicious ramen! I totally recommend.
Good Japanese Ramen at an affordable price. However, will have to give it a miss during any meal time. The waiting can be crazy long like about 1hr.
Very delicious and service is really good. Don’t be fooled by the deceptively good price. The ramen here is definitely in league with competitors more than 3 times the price
Aunty Alice was super friendly when we were at the Jurong West branch, she helped cleared the plates for us and even thanked us for returning our tray 🥹 please come and say hi to her she’s super cute
24 hour ramen shop. Serve very affordable ramen. If you need to crave your ramen craving you can come here! They have a breakfast menu however it's only till 11am. I had the cha siu ramen. Cha siu was nice, the stock wasn't too heavy and the noodle was on point. I just hope they serve chawamushi during lunch too. Despite seeing a few on the heater the chef didn't want to sell it to me. Would go again if I have a sudden ramen craving!
This place is just too cramp! Bringing the whole family here is definitely a no no unless you are here during off peak. Not best best tasting ramen but definitely the most value for money ramen! Something that totally surprised me was the takoyaki. Probably frozen takoyaki deep fried and hence, giving it a crispy skin and a soft center. I'll be back again but without my kids.
Char Siew ramen add ramen egg for $9.50 which was great value for money n tasted great compared to normal ramen out there at double the price.
Ordered via food panda. Staff was very nice to pack the soup and noodle separately and added a cute note!
Will order again!
Soup was tasty. Noodles texture still springy after 45min. Btw, char siu ramen dont have spring onion and corn one?
Delicious Ramen!! The shop is open for 24 hours, enjoyed the midnight ramen experience.
First time patronise this restaurant within a neighbourhood at Jurong East. A good environment, quiet. The cleanliness is excellent. The food and drinks are up to my daughter standard. The staffs are very friendly, even I request for a small bowl, the chef gave to me with a friendly smile. The employee are very positive and lastly food is very delicious. Worth the price and very generous with their noodles and broth good 👍. dated 31 Dec 21
Recommend if you feel like spending time alone with a decent bowl of ramen.
Ramen broth was decent and not overly salty. Price was good and kind of chill if you are eating with some anime on.
Nice atmosphere. Reasonable prices for a good bowl of Ramen. Noodles are Chewie with good texture, goes so well with tasty soup base.
Although the Pork Char Sui is slightly bland and doesn't melt into your mouth like other top grade ramen , but it's still enjoyable
Good food with reasonable price. Highly recommended to everyone and is 24hrs @ Jurong west outlet.
Affordable self-service ramen that is tasty and good for a quick bite or a midnight meal. The lye in the noodles isn't too strong and the soup does not make you thirsty. The pork isn't top notch but you get what you pay. Overall, the quick and friendly service complements the clean and minimalist interior and as long you don't intend to stay there for more than 30 minutes because the chairs are not designed for prolonged sitting.
Food is Takagi standard alright. But don't bother dine in or walk-in order takeaway during meal time. Because they only prioritise delivery orders.
Served than 15 riders order over 30 minutes while not one dine in orders were served.
The food here was actually beyond my expectations. The service was pretty good and the amount of food they serve you is pretty generous. The soup has too little salt but other than that, I would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for ramen that tastes good but won’t burn a hole in your pocket.
If someone had told me "I want to sell authentic Japanese ramen for a low price in Singapore" I would have been sceptical. Many ingredients necessary for authenticity are expensive - japanese soy sauce/dashi/sake are available in dondon but at a higher price than in Japan.
You have got to respect what Takagi Ramen is doing. They are somehow creating authentic ramen at low prices, and the taste of their food is hitting way above the price point. I can only infer that there's a huge amount of effort going into keeping the food delicious. This isn't fancy restaurant ramen, but it's pretty damn good with surprising complexity (spicy green onion in umami broth, or the hint of sweetness in crispy gyoza). 100% respect.
Good ramen, affordable price, high variety of options, 24h opening
No comments about the tight space, it is what it is. Service is decent. Removed some stars for the food. Not specific to this outlet but for the whole chain - the taro milk was thin and bland, the mazemen was clumpy and bland, and ingredients choice for dishes are not authentically Japanese, and many times not even compatible in a dish.
Indoor aircon too cold.
Noodle not soft enough
Super affordable ramen with good quality noodle and broth. Canned Drinks priced at $1.50 and staff are super friendly. Small and cozy place but had seats at a late dinner timing. Will recommend!
Great Ramen, good and accommodating staff, clean tables and reasonable wait times (on a Sunday at lunch hour!) 10/10 will recommend 👍🏼
Just had lunch at Takagi Ramen, it really makes my day. First time tried their salted egg ramen, it comes with a bowl of soup, warms my stomatch and the ramen is so tasty and crunchy, not too oilly, I even need to call for kaedema. Especially, the 2 cheerfull women in white shirt warm my heart with their smiley eyes and supportive attitude. Surely will come back with my colleagues later.
An average -taste regular ramen shop.
Food is awesome. I’d always go for a bowl of karakamen during rainy days. The spices wakes the taste buds up immediately
Plus the service. Top notch staff
I can honestly say that, it's the most value-for-money Ramen. Most of the Ramen Restaurant I visit tend to skimp on the soup, but this restaurant don't. The flavor is legit. If you don't believe me, try it for yourself. You won't be disappointed.
Good quality ramen at a very reasonable price.
We ordered takeout through Grabfood and it was delivered on time and still warm. A bit on the saltier side, but this was fixed easily by diluting the soup with some warm water. Noodles were still firm, thanks to good packaging that kept them separate from the broth. Just the right level of spiciness and nice nutty taste in the tantan soup. Kudos to minimising use of plastic too👏🏻
A goto for the ramen fix.
And operates at all hours. Great when doing late night work.
Only down side is the facilities like the tables are getting a little worn down.
Budget Ramen 24hr. Black Tonkotsu broth is very rich & tasty. Noodle OK. But the chasu average only. Don't like the seating arrangements. Many people hog the table/seat. Perhaps they can copy their idea from Ichiran Ramen, so that more people can come to eat. Will come back again to eat during non peak hours. Overall is good for the price!!!
I bought Gochujang Abura Soba. Food was served quite fast. The noodle tastes nice, with few layers of flavor. If there is any room for improvement, the noodle was bit hard,as compared to other ramen. But in general it is a very nice meal and I would definitely recommend my friends to try.
Good deal and taste for community level Ramen.
Food serve cold even its soup... system misleading as -$1 on cold drinks whereby if you change it to set they give you hot drinks... staff giving attitude when clarification
Not coming to such poor quality food
Totally not worth your money
Auntie Peggy is very friendly, Food also delicious 😋 Recommend to try here.
Like the service of the staff there name Bee Hwa, she is very expert in packing of food, very well trained, fast worker, a very detailed person who always check the items before handling the packages to customers. Thumbs up for her excellence service. 👍👍👍👍
This restaurant has some of the best food I've ever tasted! The service is great, and I always feel welcome when I go there. I would highly recommend it to anyone.
Been ordering so far so good as kids love to hv it. Used to order thru Food Panda but some incident happened. Nevertheless, Ms Low solved my issue end of day, tks.
Pretty decent value. Got the Devil Lips Ramen and burnt my mouth off, order it if you love spice
Great area and great food, staff was very friendly on night shift one.. It was my first visit price is definitely worth it for such nice food.. Thumb up
Worth eating
Mom said it would be better if the soup was thicker
Wenxuan and I went to have supper together. delicious
From a Japanese perspective, the soup felt lukewarm.
Even with that in mind, I'm glad that it's open 24 hours a day and that you can get ramen of this quality at this price range.
I have become addicted to Takana!
The noodles taste good, a little salty but it doesn't affect the overall taste.
The soup is very thick, the meat is delicious, and the noodles are cooked just right
The environment is very good, the texture of the noodles and the concentration of the soup are very good
