Reviews of The Mediterranean Deli Turk
The yummiest Turkish food I have had in Singapore. The doner kebab was done well, and so was the baklava. It was nice that they served complimentary tea to pair with the baklava too!
Brought my parents here for their birthday dinner treat ! Ordered too many meat hehe i am not sure what is their dish names. Oh i ordered kunafe with ice cream too since it was a birthday celebration and they cutely put this up for them hehe ! Thank you !
Hidden Gem at one corner of far east plaza. One of the most authentic Turkish food you can get in Singapore. Chef is a Turkish and food is at a reasonable price.
All the food is good and portion is great too.
Special mention to the lamb shank, so tender and the sauce is something you will carry on dip your pita with.
The Two pax mixed grill is good for 3 pax.
Please remember to order the Kunefe with Turkish ice cream too!! Too good to be missed!
Absolutely delicious, I've been to Turkey many times and can confirm this is true and authentic food. It was very fresh, well spiced, juicy and nicely presented. The Kunefe was undoubtedly the highlight, best I've ever had, including in Turkey many times. Other Turkish places in Singapore don't even come close. The homemade cheese sticks were super unique and delicious. Portions are quite large, bigger than we thought. To top it all, the service is lovely, very friendly and with a big smile. All kudos to the waiters, truly enhancing the experience. Such service is hard to come by in Singapore. Prices are reasonable given the quality. Perhaps the ambience can be improved somehow, it's nicely decorated but some Turkish music or décor on the table would be a nice touch. My favourite restaurant now. Thank you.
I tried the lunch set, Lamb Adana Kebab on my first visit. It was juicy, tender, and flavourful. Came with a side of fresh veggies, tortilla bread, pomegranate tea and rice pudding dessert. Amazing! Cost was $19.90
2nd visit I ordered Lamb Shank with butter rice. The tender, 'fall off the bone' lamb smothered in sweet herbally tasting gravy, topped with mushrooms, veggies, and broccolis. Top tier fresh ingredients. And portion was big...possible for 2 pax, can just order additional rice or pita bread. Overall very delicious! Cost $32....price is reasonable for the big portion and tasty meal in a orchard area shopping mall.
I can't stress enough how fresh and tasty all the veggies are...mind you I usually don't eat veggies. Will definitely be back since my shop is nearby on the same level too haha! Cheers 👍🏼
Ordered quite abit for 2 person. Love the cauliflower salad. Hummus, eggplant dips. As we were celebrating our birthday, the restaurant gave us complimentary tea and a kind of Turkish delight. The staff were attentive and friendly. Will definitely go back for the cauliflower salad and hummus.
Hummus! Good! The lunch set is value for money - comes with a main + drink + soup + bread + dessert all for $20!
The pita bread is baked to perfection and the submarine bread looks so amazing! However the price for the submarine bread is a little high. Will probably not order this again the next time.
The soup of the day was lentil soup (vegetable soup) its really rich and herby. Very different from what i usually have.
The chicken dish is the highlight of the meal. The chicken meat is sooooo soft and tender. The seasoning is on point. Goes really well with the breads. The rice that comes with the dish is really fragrant as well.
Lots of vegetarian options.
Overall a positive experience and will recommend 👍🏻
Total bill is about $85++
The food is pretty decent and the meat was nicely marinated but it would be nice if the portions were a bit larger for the price.
Huge portions! Price was reasonable.
Starters: baba goulash and hummus
Mains: We ordered a chicken thigh, grilled salmon, and lamb kebab.
Chicken and salmon were cooked, just nice. Meat was soft and tender, and not too dry!
Plus point, food is halal.
It's easy to get a seating too!
Tucked away in the corner of the basement is this Turkish restaurant. Feels authentic and food is really good. Highly highly recommend the Kunefe!
The atmosphere is not as great, the place feels like an extension of the whole Far East Plaza vibe.
I have missed eating an awesome doner kebab since NYC! Approved and really every dish was superb and restaurant style grade at this eatery. Portions suit the Asian palette and if you are a big eater, the lunch portion with the perfect amount of sweet and savoury will satisfy any foodie’s tastebuds! A MUST TRY!
The set lunch is value for money. We tried the bread and the lamp meat and they are both delicious. The pomegranate tea is a little too sweet for me though.
Came to satisfy a hummus craving, but all dishes (Chicken Baked Rice, Deli Turk Pide, Beyti Lamb, Baklava, Kunefe) were amazing! The tea was strong and great for pairing with the dishes. IMO this is the best turkish food out of the 4 I've had in Singapore. My whole family enjoyed it, and we even bought the tea kettle from Shopee. The lady attending to us was very friendly and helpful too!
This place is fantastic. Was hosted by Jos and he checked us and made us comfortable (hope I spelled the name correctly) .
Ordered Baba Ganoush, Vegetarian Pide, Pita Bread and Kunefe. All the dishes were absolutely lovely. The house pour red was great too!
Chef Ahmet also checked on us and greeted us on the way out.
Will definitely be back.
Everything comes out piping hot and fresh, brings me back to Istanbul with their delicious kebabs, appetisers and desserts. Definitely worthwhile coming to. Oh the portions are big and sweetness is adjusted to Sporeans. Nice
Best Turkish food I've had so far. Delicious and reasonably priced, and conveniently located too. Will definitely visit again!
First I must say the wait staff are amazing. patient in explaining the dishes and giving good recommendations, good eye to attention.
going to the main..went in a party of 2... order the 5x small dips which was amazing, had the roast beef, ended it with the dessert.
the food was really good and delicious. and despite being quite full after my apetitiser... I managed to clear the mains then dessert.
that said, I recommend to go in a party of 3 to 4, as the portions are quite big and filling.
the next time I'm going there, I will definitely try the lamb, and the other dessert
TLDR; Despite the 3-star rating, I would definitely recommend eating here based on the food alone. Perhaps delivery would be better than dining in, if you can wait.
The rest…
Food: 5
Service: 3
Ambiance: 1
The food here is very, very on point. Almost everything we had was superb and among the best “Mediterranean” food we’ve had in SG. If I were to nitpick, I would say the hummus was a bit chalky/gritty (too much tahini??), but everything else was great. Even the steak in the Caravan was quite tender and flavorful, which is somewhat surprising given the price point on the dish. Portions are fairly large for a party of 2. We ordered 2 starters, 2 mains and 1 dessert—we each have another meal left over, and we finished very full.
The service was quite slow, so much so that we weren’t sure if they even placed our drink order (which, btw, do not pass up the apple tea). Despite the slow service, our order was correct once it arrived. The kitchen seemed behind, and the front of the house seems short staffed, but everyone was friendly.
The ambiance is hard to ignore. Part of it is the location in a mall, which I understand the restaurant largely cannot control. But there is no divide between the mall patrons and the restaurant tables. The pulse-elevating Turkish EDM (dance music) was basically intolerable, especially while trying to enjoy a meal. And their system for food order pickups was terrible. On more than 1 occasion the handoff to the delivery driver happened over my head… a simple driver pickup location would solve this.
Hopefully this spot continues to improve, as the food was great.
Go for the chef’s selection of 6 dips with pita bread, which was served warm and fluffy and was so good, we couldn’t resist ordering a second one. We thoroughly enjoyed all of the dips, except maybe for the stuffed grape leaves which were a tad sour for my liking.
Also highly recommend the beef stew with eggplant base, which was reminiscent of a pizza with its stringy cheese. Great option for those who don’t take lamb.
Save space for dessert, as you must try the kunefe a.k.a. “a slice of heaven”. Guaranteed enjoyment if you love dairy and pistachio.
The give a generous pour for the house wines so that makes up for the pricing.
The salmon was the only dish that was rather underwhelming. Small portions for the price, and it was a bit on the fishy side (perhaps enhanced by the wine).
Service is attentive and earnest, so 5 stars for the hospitality!
Came here twice in a weekend because it was that good! With each time completely blowing me away.
The first time was simply because the food was flavourfully tasty, generous/ adequately portioned, and overall authentic.
As for the second time (which was two days later), I brought my mom for her birthday dinner and they exceeded our expectations even more.
Post-meal, they very relaxed about having our bday donuts there. They then served complimentary tea for all four of us, along with extra plates with new utensils and napkins.
With a super cute, hokey tune of “happy birthday” playing in the background, they then presented the donuts to my mom with a sparkling candle. The staff were smiling and clapping along.
Thank you so much for this delightful experience. Can’t wait to come back again!
I think this has become one of my favourite restaurants in Singapore.
Chef Ahmet was so friendly and welcoming. He even gave us a complimentary simit (the best i can describe it is a cross between a bagel and a hum ji peng. crispy on the outside and fluffy inside, thoroughly perfumed with the fragrance of sesame seeds!).
I really enjoyed the vegetarian and cheese pide - extremely comforting when warm. the vegetable stew filling went well with the cheese.
the taze fasulya (stewed green beans w herbs and tomatoes) was also superb. light yet robust in taste.
all in all, it was such a wonderful experience!
Walked around Far East and came across this shop.
Ordered the 2 pax mixed grill. Meat was tender and well seasoned, and the sides are pretty decent too. Butter rice can be more fragrant but passable nevertheless.
Service was also great and fast.
Could have been 5/5 if the serving size is larger or the price is more affordable. This caused $60 after gst and service charge. Water was free tho
The lamb kebabs with rice is nice and meze platter is a good one to try different cold dishes. The portion size is a bit small for sharing. Will surely come again to try their other dishes.
The breads were addictive. Meats were well marinated and I liked the way they grilled it. It’s a nice change from the usual cuisine. I’m glad we get a chance to try something like this away from the origin.
Met my expectation and service was courteous and swift. Bread and hummus were really good.
The only disappointment (big actually) was the lamb - it was so rubbery that knife did not cut through and too hard to chew
Hits and misses with the food and very very slow service. It took an hour for our first dish to arrive and twice the wrong item was served. Credits to them for offering pomegranate tea as an apology which was lovely though.
Food wise, moussaka was good taste wise and texture wise despite the crazy amount of oil. Cheese pide was the star for me and probably could see myself coming back for this. Kunefe however was a real disappointment i must say. The crust was burnt on top, the pastry was too doughy, the cheese didnt stretch at all.
Given they just opened, it could be chalked up to teething issues but if rushing, pick someplace else or you'll find yourself frustratingly trying to get updates from the staff who try desperately to avoid eye contact. Also, delivery orders slow food service.
Hidden Jem with delicious mediteranean food, great service and relaxing atmosphere (jazz music).
First time here. Tried the mix grill for 2 and kunefe with ice cream. Highly recommends the kunefe dessert! Crunchy rosti like texture on the outside with cheese inside with milky sauce - very filling, recommends for sharing. Was given a complimentary Turkish tea too. How thoughtful..
Set meals only during lunch, value for price!
Adana kebab and Hummus with Turkish cherry juice! Delicious. The chef graduated from Le Cordon Bleu Paris and is also from Türkiye, so it is VERY good. The place itself is quite unassuming, in the very back corner of food/ cafe area but VERY much worth searching out to find!
They have opened a new restaurant at Suntec. Very conveniently located & simply the best Turkey restaurant in Singapore. The chef is well known for his food. Excellent experiences.
Hidden gem I’ve visited many times. Give it a try! Tasty and generous servings. The kebabs are always great!
Enjoyed their chicken with rice and beef with yogurt. Wish the beef was hotter temperature though.
Turkish pizza wasn't the best I've had but it was okay.
They were unfortunately out of one of the dips that my wife liked. The eggplant dips were great.
Exceptionally good. Would go here again in a heart beat. The Karalahana dalmasi was clean the plate good. The service was also on point and it was quite clear the staff was passionate about the place.
Food is acceptable but localised. Service is much to be desired.... came first but was served later, gave menu to other party when seated, but I had to wait while already seated. Cutlery and ordering after serving the other party.
Amazing quality and most authentic turkish food you could find here in Singapore. The service staff was very attentive to our needs and Chef Ahmet also regularly checked up on us to find out what he could do to make our experience even better. As a Turkish person, I highly recommend this place, you will not regret it!
First time ever trying pide pizza, was pleasantly surprised with the tasty soft chewiness, would be better if had more of the lamb filling. perhaps should have gotten the other open-faced version of pide. Doner kebab dish (mixed lamb & chicken) was great too, though for ours the chicken was better than the lamb
Cauliflower, mezze and pita were amazing, but the chicken pide had a minuscule amount of chicken in it and was also strangely flavorless. Might be more of a cold dish place, I suppose? Though I might be back to try their more proteinacious concoctions.
One of the best Mediterranean food experience that I've had dining with my wife in SG bringing back memories of our past vacations in Jordan, Egypt, Turkey and Palestine
Authentic Turkish food, great costumer service. Cosy environment, good choice for sharing a meal with family and friends.
Small jewel tuck in Holland Village. Lamb was juicy. Salads were extremely rich and flavourful. Thanks for lovely service.
Great deli restaurant. Knowing that we were new to Turkish food, the waiter took time to explain the dishes ordered. Highly recommend the dessert kunefe.
Hidden jem. Food is good. Ordered Adnan and Knafeh. First time try the Knafeh it was awesome taste really good. Service was prompt. Will definitely revisit this restaurant again. 👍👍
The most authentic Turkish food you’ll find in Singapore, a popular place for Turkish expats in here. Great variety of fresh vegetable dishes, dips, great breads and grilled meats in sizable portions. Generous wine pours are a bonus. The service staff are a bit inexperienced, got an order wrong but they were gracious in amending it.
They do meat right, plus the Kunefe is awesome, not too sweet and properly done, we simply ordered a second one :)
The dips and different vegetables are quite flavourful and tasty. Lamb a bit hard to chew. Dessert very filling. Price is reasonable and not expensive.
Authentic Turkish food restaurant. The pizza is nice, and the kebab rice is good but it would be perfect if the portion of serving can increase.
This is the kind of place you come to when you want to just enjoy the food . Ambience may be a bit tacky but the place is super clean.
I’m not sure if it’s authentic but it’s delicious. And the portions are huge . Service is great. It’s not too heavy on the wallet . Plenty of vegetarian options and the food is actually tasty. Love the moussaka and the pide. Do order the rest sparingly because you need to save space for the kunefe with icecream . It really is heavenly.
My 2nd visit to this Authentic Turkish Restaurant has maintain it’s consistency on its food quality & most of all their service! Witnessed the preparation of food by Happy Chef Ahmet who also pose for the picture along with his staff as he announce that they are a team! Having hear that, I know for sure that this man take pride from his kitchen to the service floor and his culinary skill. The special ingredient that goes into the food is passion and that keep the customer coming back for more!
Delicious Turkish cuisine! Very friendly staff. Owner and chef interact with you to give a warm welcome atmosphere.
Had my dinner here a few times on my short stay in Singapore. Little gem hidden away in Far East plaza. Highly recommend the yogurt kebab and rice pudding!
Nice Turkish food and cosy environment paired with friendly service. The food is really good especially the lamb pizza, the mixed grilled could have been served a little bit hotter and that would makes it perfect.
Taste authentic. Was not packed when I visited for brunch. Friendly service.
My favourite Turkish joint. Every single dish is prepared carefully And the flavours really come together. Would like kunafe to be more sweet but everything else is perfect.
Probably the best Turkish cuisine you can find in Singapore. So good and loving it. Chef Ahmet is very friendly too.
Ordered baked salmon which took awhile to arrive. I loved the dish but portion size was small and not filling. Would need to order sides to feel full.
Fairly expensive place but the meat is great! The lentil soup was OK and dessert was a bit lacking in flavour.
The hummus with bread was excellent. It was one of the best I had.
Absolutely spectacular :) The best Turkish food in Singapore... amazing quality at a cheap price. Thank me later :)
Service 10/10
Food 8/10: As I’m not really into their food but it’s really a new flavour in my mouth and will drop by again!
The food here is so good. Attention is paid to the smallest aspect. Would struggle to find better Mediterranean food.
The group of 4 of us ladies ordered the mezze platter, grilled meat platter for 2, 2 pita bread, salmon and the chicken iskender kebab which was a little more than enough. Made a reservation on a Thurs night but the place was half full so walk ins would be no problem. Bill came up to about 30 plus per person. Their pita bread was a little different and not as good as other Mediterranean places but the rest of the dishes were decent. We wanted to order the sea bass but it was unavailable so we got the salmon which was thankfully cooked to perfection. I really enjoyed the iskender kebab most of all.
Well hidden gem. Love the kebabs and of course, the kunafer is a must-try!
Small Turkish restaurant in the mail but grills and dessert are amazing
This is a small charming authentic place with not too many tables but with an outdoor area. The place is simple decorated but in nice colours.
We enjoyed the time & service minded staff & the great variety of exciting dishes, dips & soft buttery bread - all in sizable portions.
We ordered several small dishes & a couple of mains. The food is as home-cooked as it gets & truly delicious with lovely flavours.
The black Turkish coffee was the perfect end to the meal together with the baklava, which was crispy with abundance of pistachios.
The price is slightly on the expensive side but worth it. The staff seemed inexperienced but on the other hand, kind & really keen to serve. They cleaned away plates, refilled drinks & generally very attentive.
Very good options for vegetarians.
Hidden gem that my friend found on Google maps. Went as for late dinner as group of 12, and the staff had to combine some smaller tables to fit us and had to ask a couple who was almost done to shift to another table. Thanks for accommodating our large group!
One staff was humourous, asking for our help to remember all our orders. The food was okay (mine was doner chicken with bread), but the warm pita ($3++) with hummus ($11.90++) and kunefe dessert with ice cream ($19.90++, with stretchy cheese inside. Crispy kunefe, chewy cheese and cold ice cream = party in your mouth) were outstanding. Must order these!
Conducive environment to chat as there were only a few tables left. We stayed till closing
Everything we ate was phenomenal, flavourful, and well portioned. The kunefe has my heart — it is the best I’ve had yet. Also love the very warm and attentive service that sets this place apart. Highly recommend!
Lovely cosy place with authentic, delicious Turkish food. I enjoyed the pita bread which was freshly baked that went well with the hummus. I had the Beef Shish that came with a very flavourful butter rice. Kunafa is a must try dessert! Great for sharing with friends.
Unassuming restaurant in holland village. Staff was very friendly and attentive.
The menu is quite exhaustive.
Food was good but I found the amount of sauce a bit overwhelming for the 2 dishes we ordered, though that might very well be characteristic of Turkish cuisine.
It did give off a very authentic feel.
Incredibly underrated Mediterranean food! It’s very authentic, the waiters sound Turkish - they have a little trouble understanding English - but hey that’s how yknow the food’s authentic as heck!
As a person who’s been to Roots, Pistachio Mediterranean, I must say, this place has equivalent or slightly even better food standard.
Good meal. Good taste!
Authentic and yummy! Great service too◡̈ highly recommend!
Delicious food and friendly staff
I've eaten Turkish food in many countries and this is by far the best one outside of Turkey. It can be considered high quality in Turkey and outside having such a taste is just wow.
Go here for the food. You won't be disappointed.
Bery authentic turkish food..service was excellent Ahmet Usta is a very dedicated chef who cook and prepare his dishes with love…food taste was excellent..been patronising his shop whenever i am carving for turkish food..
Food was really good and the chef and service crew were very friendly as well! Had a very good dining experience, would recommend!
Fresh and tasty
The food was delicious and great, but one thing that was disappointing was that the store was very dark.
The beef and mutton are particularly delicious, tasty and tender. The desserts are super delicious, sweet and not greasy. The dishes recommended by the service guy were really good, and I even took a photo with the chef at the end, which was so happy😁
The place is clean and comfortable, apart from that, the design of the room really feels like Turkey, hehe
The seller also seems to be a native Turkish person
The taste of the soup is authentic, like turkey, but less thick
Nice food and nice service,
Delicious food, excellent service, and reasonable prices
Service not so good
But eating is OK
Very delicious Turkish meal. Every dish is carefully prepared by the restaurant owner. Must try the grilled lamb chops. Strong charcoal smell. Tender and fragrant. The boss is the chef, he is Turkish, and he speaks Chinese very well.
