Reviews of The Spot - Singapore
We had a fantastic anniversary at the Spot! Highly recommend the Cheese Bread and the Beef Tartare. The steak was really well cooked and tender as well. Very good blend of asian and western flavours. Also a shoutout to our super helpful server Ryan, thanks for the great dinner!
The Iberico pork was the best dish, the snapper was ok. However the octopus wasnt edible- the toughest octopus I have tasted in Singapore. The restaurant proposed change of dish. Subsequently ordered the grilled prawns - prawns were not very fresh, a little mushy. Serving size is small for the main courses.
Atmosphere - noisy, suitable for drinks and loud gatherings
Food really delicious Great fusion food. good service(Shabana) really have good service minded I would come here again fot sure
We went on a Sat night and the place was almost empty. Overall, the food was quite disappointing, especially the lemongrass chicken brochette ($16) which was flavourless. We didn't enjoy the pan-fried hokkaido scallops ($35) either, in particular the sauce it came with. The mains - pan fried snapper and glazed duck breast ($29 each) - fared better. For dessert, the coconut saffron porridge ($15) was an interesting concept but just didn't taste very good. The chocolate tart ($18) was probably the best of the lot. Service was average.
This restaurant reminds me of Nomad, an Australian restaurant that does such vibey barbeque food. They're part of the 1855 Food Group, that's also why they're right next to 1855 wine shop here at One Marina.
It's a good place for lunch and dinners, especially if you're working around here. We saw quite a few tables with post-work team hangouts, both food and drinks.
We had quite some dishes, but personally I only thoroughly liked the pan fried golden snapper. The duck breast was good but not great, and the char grilled octopus was good but not great. All else considered, it's one of those places that I wouldn't have too high an expectation coming.
The snapper in curry fish, cereliac soup and the cheese bread were the highlights.
Kids loved the fried skate.
We had the 4 course lunch.
Apple Mille Feuille was a great dessert option.
Ambience was also good.
Dinner was great. Every dish was well executed. Surprised to find food of such high quality in a place that seems to mainly cater to the drinking crowd. For a while I thought I was in a fine dining restaurant. Service was fabulous as well. Will definitely visit again.
Amazing food, amazing service, amazing drinks. We love everything about the Spot! Brought my friend here for a birthday dinner and tried the Burpple Beyond 6-course menu… I think it’s one of the best meals we ever had. Every dish was so amazing!! My favourite dish was the Grilled Hamachi. We were mostly served by Janna who was so polite and bubbly. And the cocktails - definitely a hit for us! Thank you to the Spot for making it such a memorable meal & time. Would definitely be back soon!
Great ambiance and services.
The restaurant has an attached wine shop that you can browse and pick a bottle before your meal.
We went during restaurant week and had a fantastic 4 course dinner. All dishes were solid and nicely presented. Love the beef shortrib!
Their happy hour red and white options were decent, too.
Entertainer 1-for-1 brought me here. Food was all SUPERB! Except for the chewy, close-to-unbite-able lobster in their "Boston lobster capellini". Feedback from the kitchen is "thats the way it's supposed to be." Have never eaten such a tough lobster in my life 😰. Apart from that all's perfect. Breakdown below:
Ambiance: 5/5. Beautiful bar counter with a nice quiet yet posh vibe.
Service: 5/5. Prompt & professional service.
Food: 4/5. Their sauteed potato pave WAS SO GOOD. Potato cooked to perfection - layers of potato stacked, crispy on the outside, tender on the inside & so well seasoned. The sweet brown onions completed the package.
Asian style beef shortrib was great. Very tender beef cubes seasoned really well. Their risotto I felt didn't really complement the beef cubes well but still good👍🏼
Price: 4/5. Snacks & sides were very well priced. But their mains.. Wew. But entertainer 1-for-1 for me, so, no complains.
Location: Very accessible. Located beside the beautiful Marina One residences.
Came here for the valentines set, fantastic service and great selection of drinks. Food started with oysters, had mackerel and waygu beef short rib that was perfectly cooked. Ambience was great! Would definitely return to try their other dishes.
Had the burrple set menu here, we thoroughly enjoyed it!!
The appetizers were delicious, and I particularly enjoyed the beef-both raw and cooked!
Wines were affordable as well
Service was good!
Would return again 👍
Spend my Valentine in this place. Definitely a great place, with a nice ambience and setting , yet not formal that pressurize one to wear more formal clothes. Had a 7 course meal, that definitely mesmerizing from the start till the end. The dishes were definitely lovely , no more words could describe them. Had a replacement of their waygu with duck. No regrets, it was tender that the knife could slip through. The staff (Jaja) was definitely lovely throughout the whole night, patiently explaining each dish and keeping us comfortable. Definitely a recommend. Whether it is for a casual drink session or a trip for great food! 💖😍
Had a great dinner with Leanne waiting on us, bok choy from the angus striploin meal was my boyfriend’s favourite, and I really enjoyed the iberico pork set!
Food at this restaurant is very well prepared. The decor is very pleasing to the eye and we were served by Lyncy who recommended us dishes that delighted our taste buds. We loved this place and the food so much that we have decided to make this our Friday dinner restaurant. Highly recommended. 5 Stars!!!!
Had a good lunch with excellent service. We started with the cheese bread balls, which were quite nice, if a tad heavy and dense. The lime kingfish was tasty and done cerviche style in Thai coconut curry, while the charred octopus was delicious. We both had mains of duck with rice. The duck was nicely grilled, and slightly pink in the middle, but the thick cuts made some of the pieces rather chewy. The rice was also a little gummy.
Dessert was snickers eclair and salted plum panna cotta, both of which were good.
Parking was free, which was helpful.
Absolutely delicious!! Went there for the SG restaurant week (lunch) and was served very innovative and tasty dishes.
Fusion of Asian and European flavors were done well. Was pleasantly surprised how well the different taste profiles blended together.
Service was excellent as well. We were taken care of and waiter/waistress were friendly.
Definitely a must visit for anyone looking for a refreshing and delicious menu.
Nice ambience, great food and fantastic service from all the crew. We were served mainly by Dwyn who was excellent throughout. He was very warm, hospitable and had a great energy about him. Thanks Dwyn and the team. Will definitely be back.
We tried this place for the October restaurant week.
The place is well decorated, located in CBD.
The food and cocktails were super nice , totally recommended.
The staff was very attentive
My colleagues booked this place for my welcome lunch to the company, food was excellent, love the bread which was a side order from the set lunch. Their signature dishes were excellent ..
Enjoyed my lunch for the second time. Delightful dessert offering and the mains are not bad. A good choice for lunch but would prefer more variety.
Food was mediocre at best. But lovely environment. Quiet on weekends.
Yummy food with excellent food presentation. Affordable lunch menu. A three-course meal only cost $39++. Good service. Will definitely come back!
The Spot is surely one of my favourite restaurants in SG. Food, price and service are amazing! Honestly nothing to complain about. Highly recommend. One of the must try is the warm valrhona chocolate tart dessert. It's pretty life changing.
It was easy to get a place for 2 and good ambience to help conversations. The service is fast and the staff is friendly. There's exactly 1veg appetizer and 1 veg main course. So, I didn't have many options. The food was ok (I've had better gnocchi) but my colleague - who had multiple options to choose from - liked his dishes.
Excellent food and service, we were well taken care of and the food does come in a timely fashion. Though what could be improved would be to top up water more often.
Tried the 2 course exec set lunch on a weekday. Crowd was ok, not too noisy. Didnt look crowded but was told most tables have been reserved so we could only get a high table for a group of 4 which we are absolutely fine with. The table was right in front of the open concept kitchen so we could see clearly what goes on in the kitchen. Love it!
Very attentive service. One of the staff walked over to recommend dishes when she realised we were taking a while to decide given that it was our first visit. Our warm water was also served and refilled promptly throughout our time there.
Food wise, i had the beef tartare and red snapper. Both dishes were fantastic. Beef tartare had a good balance of flavor, and came with 3 slices of nicely toasted bread (i only managed to finish 2, 3 is really a little much for a starter portion!). The red snapper dish was with green curry foam and eggplant. Amazing, the pan fried fish remained crispy even towards the end. I was initially afraid that the green curry flavor will be too over-powering, however it was relatively light and the foam adds a different texture to the dish.
One of my lunch partners ordered the duck breast, seemed like it was a little tough though. She had a hard time cutting and chewing it, ended up not finishing the food.. Thats probably the only flaw!
Other than that, it was a great experience. Very extensive drinks menu, with free flow mocktails during lunch. Will definitely be back to try the dinner menu and drinks!
Came here for Wed Ladies Night. Had an absolute amazing experience and thanks to Aravin and the team for making it fab!! The ladies night offer is awesome.
The beef dishes were amazing! Tho portion is small. Used entertainer to enjoy the 1 for 1.
I must say.. I did enjoy my quick meal there. Went for early dinner. Food and services did not disappoint. Would come back for drinks next time.
Excellent food, great service and ambience. Prettt plating, great tasting food. Lovely place for a romantic meal or group hangout.
Thanks Rose and her team! Super helpful since the day I made the reservation.
We had a great team lunch !
Kumar and Winnie were polite and friendly. Food and ambience was excellent. This restaurant hits The Spot
The Spot SG has great food, service and ambiance. Your visit in SG will not be complete unless you go to The Spot and try their Singaporean Sling. It is the country’s best. The Five Course meal is a must try considering their price is very reasonable. Their manager,Sed, is very accommodating and approachable. He gave full description of every dish they served on the table. I particularly liked their red snapper with coconut sauce. I loved how the ingredients and spices blended well in the dish. I will definitely go back next time I visit Singapore. Two Thumbs Up 👍🏽👍🏽
Great quality food at a reasonable price point. Attached wine shop allows you to buy wine to complement the great food. We were attended to by Lyncy who was very warm and attentive to us. Makes us feel right at home.
Tried the food here during restaurant week after Covid 19 lock down. Great food, great service. Nice atmosphere too.
First time trying out at this restaurant. Food tastes awesome. I recommend that the cheese bread is a must try. We are served by this nice and approchable waiter, Vincent Khoo. Thumbs up for their food and service.
Food and service were great ☺️ love their Pan-seared Snapper. Thank you Vincent Khoo for the excellent service 👍🏼
I would recommend the set lunch. While the steak was average, the pan fried snapper and pork loin were delicious! Portion was reasonable. I enjoyed the cheese bread and appetizers as well! Went for my dads birthday celebration, they even surprised us with a free cake. The service crew was attention and polite. Overall a very good experience!
Amazing dining experience! The food is tasty and the service is great 👍🏻
Had my birthday dinner there and the food is splendid and we really enjoyed all of the dishes. Service was excellent too! We were attended to quickly and were well taken care of throughout our 2 hours dinner. WJ who served us was not only attentive to us, he recommended a lot of dishes which turns out to be pretty impressive. As I had a slight injury, he checked for my dietary requirements. I find it really heartwarming. What impressed me was the fact that he always check up on us and also upon serving any dish, he will let us know the content of it.
Food's great, service's great! Had an enjoyable birthday at the spot :)
Nice atmosphere restaurant with great wineshop selection.
Excellent, flavourful dishes. Had a good bottle of wine from the retail shop ‐ retail shop staff provided better service than the restaurant staff. Thien's service was good. Can't say the same for the sarcastic and condescending senior staff.
Great food ! Thank you Vincent for your great service! Will be back :)
Food & service staff were very good. We ordered the glazed duck breast and red snapper for mains. The strawberry Panna cotta desert was a perfect end for our meal.
The ambience of the restaurant was nice, good place to bring a date. Would definitely go back again.
Convenient location, very attentive staff and also rly delicious n unique dishes! Shout out to Vincent Khoo, for the 💯 service! Had a rly lovely time here and will defo revisit again! Favourites for the night were Glazed duck breast, cheese bread, Boston lobster and iberico!
Marina One (East Tower) in front of the lifts The Spot. Went there for light lunch. The most healthy lunch you can find. Slow cook steam fish to perfection. Just taste great. Very attentive service.
The spot to chill, the spot to get some creative cocktail, the spot to grab a quick bite, the spot for wines and the spot of whisky!
Good uncomplicated food and drinks. Staff have a good sense of humour.
Good food. Our server, Kumar, was very attentive.
Come for New Year’s Eve dinner, 158 SGD per person
The food is creative cuisine, but I don’t really know what it is.
You have to look at the menu to know the composition. Several dishes are quite special.
I think it tastes ok, you can eat it all
But I do feel a little confused at first
The steak for the main course was of very good quality and quite delicious!
The service staff has a very good attitude and often adds water and asks questions.
Is the dining situation good? I couldn’t finish the meal in the end.
And helped us pack desserts
Overall experience is ok
Food and people, everything was ok. The bankers party here on Friday evening. Very loud at happy hour.
