Reviews of Tim Ho Wan (Waterway Point)
Ordered spring roll, braised beef brisket, pork and shrimp dumpling and garlic pepper pork chop for dinner. Spring roll is crispy good, beef brisket is tender and savory, dumpling is really tasty and of course, the garlic pepper pork os the best for me,I really like the chewy, garlicky and savory taste.
Major props to the staff of this outlet for accommodating to my request where we required seats with backrest for my partner's two elderly parents who were in wheelchairs. I didn't have to wait too long for a table even though it was a peak hour lunch crowd on a weekend plus we got a table right by the entrance. The food was good as always, standouts include the baked charsiew buns - crispy yet flaky bun filled with chunky savory charsiew inside. Wok fried carrot cake cubes, each radish cube was fried to a crispy slight char on the outside. The deep fried shrimp wrapped in beancurd skin is also a must, ultra crisp on the outside with large juicy chunks of prawn on the inside, dip it into the chilli sauce and it's pure bliss.
we came here on national day. free pandan pudding with min spending.
bf and family love this place for their other menu also. i love their lor mai kai.
although to be frank the wonton noodle's style is not to my liking (rubbery noodle).
generallly recommended place. great service.
This outlet serves good enough dim sum that is worthy of the reputation that THW had earned as a Michelin starred restaurant.
FOOD
+ BBQ Pork Buns. A must order. Nice crusty texture on the outside with delicious taste pork innings
+ Hot & Spicy Dumplings. Seasonings were fresh & added much flavour to the dish
+ Beef Noodles. Wholesome dish with really tender beef.
+ Rice Roll with Pork. Smooth texture of the rice roll went really well with the sauce. Great balance to the taste
SERVICE
+ No complaints here. Proactive & courteous staff
ATMOSPHERE
+ Not unlike its many outlets. Clean & pleasant place
Came at 730, there was no queue and we were ushered in promptly. Service crew were polite and friendly and we ordered via their web qr. Food arrived shortly, my personal favourite was the chee chong fun with char siew. Custard bun custard seems solidified already, not sure if its supposed to be like this as the one i have are usualy watery.
I've been here many time. Their food and service never fail me. Order their new edition HK Curry Pork Chop Egg Fried Rice and HK Curry Beef Brisket Rice Rolls were quite disappointed! Although the taste is good but both dishes curry gravy was lukewarm and the rice rolls was cold! After clarify is supposed to be hot and they reservice the HK Curry Beef Brisket Rice Rolls. This time the curry sauce and rice rolls was lukewarm. Personally still prefer hot.
Sufficient portion (for me). Food is okish if one is not particular about the original Hong Kong Timsum taste.
Staff is friendly. Keep up the good work.
Still one of the good dim sum place , the taste is authentic and all the selection is nice.
Good place that worth to try. Weekend could be crowded
Visited on 14 November 2024, around 3 p.m. As it was already past lunch time, place was empty. Ordered via the QR code provided on the table. Food and drink came a while after ordering. Overall a pleasant experience.
We just ordered a few items from their menu since we are not big eaters and we might get overwhelmed. We ordered fried rice, dumplings and wanton soup only but we were full. The taste is good, I mean, there is no weird taste or flavor.
Fooooood is so nice. Yumz my kids love it and me too.
Dim Sum was really so-so. However, it's good that ingredients tasted fresh. I really like how the fried bean curd skin with shrimps were served piping hit and crispy!
Authetic Hongkong delights especially popular for Dim Sum. Love the delicious Char Siew Pau Siew Mai Har Gau chee Cheong Fun and Wanton noodles. Freshly prepared food with healthy ingredients tender loving skillful cooking and warm services. Varieties of Dim Sum and beverages served in spacious lounge aircond relaxing atmosphere with comfortable seating. Conveniently located in Punggol walking distance covered pathway to Waterway Point MRT bus interchange with river views breezy greenery away from busy cityscapes. Plenty of dinning shopping banking supermarkets library cinemas entertainments groceries sundries postage Electric Electronic services community centre and amenities nearby. Friendly cosy comfy welcoming ambience for romantic intimates groups students expats locals visitors and families.
Food standard quality remain the same, as we ate 2 year ago.
Food standard not as good as before. But services still good
Staff very friendly, they do sell alcohol but only tiger in CAN.
Staffs was very friendly during my visit. They took the initiative to offer a baby chair and utensils upon spotting my toddler niece. I encountered difficulty with the online ordering system but they exhibited patience in taking our order manually. Food was served quickly too which our famished stomachs were grateful for. Two areas that can be improved on would be:
1. Noodle for the beef noodle soup was too springy. The noodle would benefit from a longer cooking time to improve its texture.
2. Server could avoid placing food right Infront of babies/toddler. If my niece were just a second quicker, she could have hurt herself or made a mess grabbing at the hot dishes within her reach.
I ordered take out via grabfood. Food was good but how do you eat pork fried rice without the chilli man. Is it so hard to remember to add chilli?
Been more than a year since we ate this. Seems like the food standard has dropped and price has gone up. The service is good though. Avg $22 per person.
Very chaotic during the promotion, and needed to refund me, but asked for time and understanding. Very professional, gave me dessert as well while I waited.
Had our standard order BBQ Charsiew Bun, Siew Mai and Carrot Cake. Always maintain it's delicious taste.
Obviously understaff. Charges for plain water and plain water tasted strange. Food variety limited and honestly not very tasty.
Seating not very comfortable as well.
Expensive too!
The pao is nice and have complementary custard pao very nice but the pork chop was very salty and the spring oil very oily..
Food are average and acceptable. Variety not really much but make u full though..not bad experience.
The only thing I like from Tim Ho Wan is the baked bbq pork buns. Tried some other dishes, didn't like any of them.
Average. Expected high standards from this outlet but still prefer the Plaza Singapura outlet.
Nice place for tim sum must try the criapy char siew buns
Very good dim sum and affordable when there are promotions
Love the siew mai and stir fry carrot cake.
Hong Kong style dim sum and dishes
Love that buns and chee chong fun.
Crowded. Eat in a rush.
Great Tim sum
Same good stuff
No long wait
Specializing in selling Dimsum dishes, the staff are enthusiastic and cheerful. Because the shop is located in the Mall, the seating is a bit cramped, but neat and clean.
Hong Kong's authentic flavors, carrot cake, crispy barbecued pork buns, preserved egg lean meat porridge, taro steamed pork ribs, chicken feet and more must-haves. The only regret is that the frozen lemon tea here is canned lemon tea.
