Reviews of Tim Ho Wan
Ever since the first stall opened at Aperia, I have been hooked on THW's brand of dim sum. With the nearest outlet being the Tai Seng branch, I have been pretty regular here and the food doesn't disappoint. Must orders for me are their oven baked charsiew buns, XO fried carrot cake and deep fried beancurd prawn rolls!
The dim sum here is excellent, made with fresh ingredients and prepared in authentic Hong Kong style.
The shrimp wonton is the best I’ve had in Singapore, perfectly wrapped with plump, juicy shrimp.
Service is excellent, and both the restaurant and cutlery are clean.
The beef brisket noodle and mixed vegetable rice rolls are equally delicious.
This branch surpasses the ones in Hong Kong.
Went to the Tim Ho Wan at Taiseng on 7 Sept. The food is definitely good, but i feel for the service staff there. They were understaffed during lunch time and the staff clearly couldn't handle the queue. Many people left not wanting to queue outside the shop (beyond the comfort of aircon). The staff were really trying their best... hope the management can look into this.
The Dim Sums were on point, though a little pricey.
The pork bun lives up to its one Michelin Star. Sugary crisp on the outside, with heavenly goodness of BBQ pork on the inside.
The Salted Egg custard bun was rich but not too salty, which is nice.
The spring roll was extremely crispy with a nice fragrance to the crust!
As for the rest of the food, they’re decent. Except for the pork ribs and yam rice, where the rice was a little undercooked.
Would recommend if there’s a promotion!
First time trying THW. Heard much praise for their fantastic Michelin mentioned status, but I personally don’t think they are that good.
Their braised beef dry noodles is good, so is their siew mai. Most of the food is good, but I didn’t get the Wow factor.
The place we wanted to eat was closed so we settled for this place. The restaurant was half empty at the time we were there but nobody came out to lead us in. Had to go to the cashier's counter to ask for a table. Ordered 5 dishes and the food came quickly. All the dishes were OK but nothing exceptional.
🌸🙏🏻 Am sharing throwback photos from the past. Hope it is okay:)
🥢Lunch on 1st June 2022 Wed.

✳️Tim Ho Wan dimsum from 18, Tai Seng Street, Singapore. ( 🔹️ordered via Grab Food Delivery)
🟠 Pan-Fried Radish Cake | aka Lor Pak Gou.
🟤 Shredded Chicken Spring Roll.
🟨Food is great. ✅️ If I pass by Tai Seng area, will visit Tim Ho Wan again.
Shrimp dumplings (虾饺) ($8) - Good. Crunchy shrimps in the dumplings.
HK style shrimp wonton noodle soup ($10.50) - Good. Crunchy shrimps on the wantons.
The food was delicious, but the portion was literally for kids. The ordering was only by scanning the QR code with no help from the staffs. We would not come back again.
Came here with the team for lunch after meeting. Very convenient located at Tai Seng MRT. Dim sum taste nice especially their signature bbq pork bun taste very yummy. Must order! Service is really good. Staff is very friendly and also attentive. They keep refilling our hot tea ensuring is hot and full. Very good customer service. Will be back to try other dishes.
Not impressed with the quality of food. The deep fried prawn paste in bean curd skin tasted rancid. Har Kau skin is thick. The portions were rather small. The only dim sum that's good is the BBQ pork bun that's 3 in a serving. Food was served fairly quickly but service staff lacks smile and warmth
After trying all the different Tim ho wan, I must say this place has gone pass its hype. I feel the menu is just not comprehensive enough for Tim sum and the dishes are also does not taste fantastic. They cannot be compared to chains like paradise or Din Tai fung where the food taste and service are very consistent. I think these guys may need to rebook at the menu a bit and check on some of their food that I felt taste like instant stuff.
Frankly.. Their Dim Sum is ok to eat only.. Nothing special with no ambience too.. 😅. And they do not provide normal serviette at all🤷♀️.. Only dishes worth recommending will be the Char Siew Polo and Chicken Feet 😊 #msgreedysis #greedybuddiez
Delicious n yummy dim sum with many speciality dishes. Slight queue so go early, orders taken at queue. Must trys are the baked barbecue char siew bun, sesame ball with molten salted egg, el dente scallion noodles, lobster carrot cake n steamed or fried custard buns. Will not do your cholesterol a whole lot of good but will definitely orgas your taste buds. Prices are reasonable n fair. Service is polite efficient n speedy n yes they are worthy of their ONE STAR MICHELIN - a must go 👍
The Tao of Pao. Further the Century Egg Porridge is not overly large and it is flavourful. Getting a seat is not much of a problem for this outlet. I also like the egg tart, the yam tart and the cheong fun! The downside is that it charges $0.80 for a glass of water.
Mid size outlet that serve benchmark HK Tim Sum with a price tag that match premium products. If you crave for fresh HK style Tim Sum perhaps you could come here to part your money . Could be pack over at weekend. Even take away takes 15-20mins. Quality is good though .
I could not wait for HK VTL to happen. I could get the original for half the bucks and double the nice.
Prompt and fast service. The food is good like any other branch. I would recommend their fried xo carrot cake and ice milk tea.
Had a bad experience before w TimHoWan and decided to go for this. Nicely done this time. Yummy and served piping hot this time!
Very good food, excellent & promt service. Especially loved the Taro with chicken dumplings - must try.
Lotus glutinous rice was yummy and soft. I love the shrimp rice rolls which has thin, light skin. The spicy dumplings was nice but I prefer the ones at din tai fung. I love the crispy fried garlic in the spicy vinegary sauce! The ma Lao cake is a favourite. Light and fluffy and not too cloyingly sweet. The crispy egg custard was simply too oily for me. I cringed at the oil after one bite.
Forgot to take more photos as I was too hungry. This was the last one left. Haha. Will add more photos when I eat there again.
The pork chop noodle failed on prok chop but noodle taste great similar to the famous HK wanton noodle shop.
Prokshop was over dry been fried. It also served with bone unlike restaurant that served pork chop and no bone.
Other speciality remain good.
Great place for dim sum. Their signature is their char siew fried buns!
Food is not too bad but a lit pricey.
Premium Tim Sum. Excellent quality. Not crowded on Sundays as there is no office crowd.
A small and cozy branch with the usual menu of delicious dim sum.
Great place for dim sum on weekends that do not require any queuing. Service staffs are attentive. Food standard is consistent and also, they are generous with the ingredients such as radish in the radish cake unlike many places which is heavy on the flour.
From the outside looks quiet, not enough hands and the main door stuck with a poster looking for employees. Not a good way to welcome the guest. It was such a hooha when it open.
My last experience at THW many years ago didn't leave any good impression. But i must say today's lunch was exceptional. Ordered their fried carrot cake and their spicy dumplings noodle dry. After finishing them we were left wanting more. Well done.
Spacious outlet with quite many tables. The foods are tasty, but a bit pricey. We ordered because of the promo vouchers given, still find it quite pricey for a decent lunch / dinner takeaway. The service was decent.
Average quality food but price is expensive as compare to other Dim Sum.
Walk past this place. looks nice. Don't know wat they sell. You can go and see for yourself and review if the food is nice.
Very nice dim sum! My favorite was glutinous rice wrapped in a leaf and the siew mai. Both dishes was very tasty. Had some spring roll as well but they didn’t quite fall within my taste, nevertheless they were of high quality. Staff was friendly, the food came quickly - no frills. One thing I could have wished for was the classic cha siew bau. Here they have the more crispy bun type which I am not a fan off. All in all a good restaurant and I will definitely visit again.
Like the dim sum especially the carrot cake and polo buns with charsiew! It's good that I no longer need to wait long for a table as Queue is cleared pretty quickly. Will go back again if I have dim sum craving again!
Usual fast service and food still tastes as good as how it was years ago. Patron this outlet to avoid crowds on weekends, as this outlet is located within an industrial area. Great for families with young kids.
This was the best dim sum I have ever had. Unfortunately, the msg or preservatives in the shrimp gave me a strong migraine. Service was great.
Service is good by Singapore standards. Food is usual Tim Ho Wan stuff but better than Toa Payoh outlet(yucks).
Try their porridge. Nice and silky. Think they add salted egg to it.
Came on 345pm 24 June, loved the meat ball porridge and fried items, thank you May and team for the great service and food!
Quite crowded during lunch time. We had to queue. Food is excellent. Service is quick.
The baked BBQ pork buns are a must. The beancurd skin with pork and shrimp was also tasty. The steamed egg cake is nice fluffy and refreshing.
Food is above average, but not much of dishes to choose from, leas ala carte. A place good for gathering and relax.
Very good food, a little expensive though! The quality is on par with other restaurants that are cheaper!
Can be a little noisy, canteen style. Staff are nice.
Nice place nice food. Tried their fried carrot cake it's delicious with premium price.
No queue at this joint. Perfect.
Food was nice. A bit pricey but nothing that i can't get from a dim sum shop at hawker centre.
Egg tarts have shrunk to bite sized smaller than the spoon ... almost cannot taste ... $4.50 for 3 bite sized ... is exorbitant ...
Love the pork buns!!
Food is good but pricey
Good
No tissue provided , bring your own.
Decent dim sum at decent prices. A reliable chain.
Nice Tim Sum, but a little bit pricey.
Nice food
Good..but not great
👍🏻
Quiet place for dining
Good dim sum
I go to this place occasionally, but recently I went there because I wanted to eat Chi Chong Fun and was disappointed to find it was overcooked. Everything else was okay, but...
The new restaurants in the old town mostly serve dim sum. You can give it a try.
1st breakfast of 2022 come Tim Ho Wan “Tim Ho Wan”😊
Overrated. Probably only locals can understand, I couldn’t.
Delicious snacks
