Reviews of Time For Thai Halal Restaurant @ Bukit Timah
Ordered the set for 2 pax.
Has fried kankong and basil pork.
It’s salty and not served hot.
Looks like pre-prepared food.
The salad is salty not refreshing.
Ordered drinks but it took very long to be served.
Quite disappointing for the food quality, will not go again.
I have recently visited the Time For Thai on multiple occasions, and each visit has exceeded my expectations. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, creating the perfect setting for a relaxed dining experience. The team is truly exceptional, consistently going above and beyond to ensure guests feel welcomed and well-cared for.
What truly sets this restaurant apart is its carefully curated menu. The selection of dishes is both unique and refreshing, offering a range of flavors that are thoughtfully crafted without feeling overwhelming. Whether you're in the mood for something familiar or eager to try something new, the menu offers something for everyone.
Even during busy periods, the staff remained attentive, ensuring that every detail was taken care of with a smile. Their professionalism and genuine warmth add to the overall experience, making each visit memorable.
For anyone new to the area or simply looking for a great dining spot, I highly recommend this restaurant. It’s a gem that’s not to be missed.
Why are the reviews so low? Service was fast, polite and adequate. Price was fair for most dishes and there’s “no service charge or GST”. Perhaps I was lucky with my choice of dishes. We fought over the plate of Pad Thai Pratu Pi. Tender and smooth, generous portion of shrimp. Not sweet, unlike some of the other Pad Thai in Singapore. Tom Yum Fried Rice was not bad. Drinks are overpriced I guess, most of them were $3ish.
First time here, tom yum fried rice was okay, tom yum soup spicy, quite nice to my liking, generous amount of prawn/ fishes but can be abit salty. Chicken basil rice is nice too~ Only thing is their staff’s attitude could be improved. No smiles nor thank you from them….
Affordable, authentic Thai dishes at reasonable prices and portions. Relatively new eatery along CCN - hope they are able to sustain amidst the many eateries on this road. Pleasant, simple ambience. Decent service. Liked the Tom Yum soup; it was sufficiently spicy and tasty.
Pleasant experience. Affordable. Dishes were authentic and traditionally Thai (you can taste that slight vinegar tang in the dishes).
Worth a visit when having Thai cravings around Beauty World/Bukit Timah/SIM/NP. Had the staple green curry and tom yum soup (prawns were HUGE), but the beef salad and shrimp paste fried rice were amazing.
Quite a new place at Cheong Chin Nam. Food's ok, priced reasonably. Dinner for 3 cost $47, good pricing for the number of dishes order + sticky rice & mango + 2 Thai ice tea.
Not sure did I order correctly though, as I walked out not breaking any sweat from the tom yam soup. Strangely not that spicy & yet somewhat thick. Just didn't have that wow factor in taste for me. Rice served in small plates made it challenging to eat too. At the moment, not accepting credit card, can't recall seeing NETS too.
Not too crowded on Friday noon lunch time but have to park at open carpark at a distance.
Pretty authentic Thai food , but could be better.
Tom yum clear soup was not bad.
Big portion , spacious seating suitable for family and kids.
affordable and really good thai food!! highly rec the egg fried rice, green curry fried rice, tom yum soup and basil chicken rice 😀
Time for thai-sum experience.
I normally write reviews after consistent experience with the same restraunt. This is the third time, i tripped and fell into the shop on purpose. Easy on the wallet, the fresh dishes come into a amazing confluence of a homely thai experience fresh out of the kitchen. If you are a chilli paadi or not. Theres a full range of options for all.
Go for the fish!
If you decide to end up here, go for the sweet and sour fish. It was a fresh out of water experience.
In my view, i believe the food portions must have improved. I had a sufficient portion across all the dishes. Fairly priced drinks like thai milk tea makes ur meal wholesome.
Close your day with the mango sticky rice!
Thai milk tea for sugar bunnies.
First time went there with my wife and friends, and I must say their food were scrumptious, really tasted the authenticity of it food. Prices is just nice and affordable. Though service can be slightly improved. Hopefully can come here again with friends or/and family.
This was sooo good !! I highly recommend and it’s pretty affordable! 👍🏼
Yes! This is the most authentic Halal Thai Food I've been looking out for.
It is located near to Beauty World MRT Station (Downtown Line), Exit B.
Delicious food, efficient service.
No service charge.
Hoping that they can add on more hot drinks in the menu. Cheers!
Great, authentic Thai food on this stretch. Tom yum has the right mix of sourness and spicyness. Milk tea is average but along with the food, they had good presentation.
Ambience is comfortable and the place is clean, an additional asset to the humble Thai ballads playing in the background.
first time to eat at this restaurant.
food is okay
they used brown sugar for thai milk tea, normal level is a bit too sweet for me
1st time trying out in this Time for Thai Sg.
We ordered Basil chicken with rice, Beef noodles, Iced Lemongrass drink, Longan drink, Dessert - coconut ice cream.
Food - average
Drinks - okie
Dessert - okie
Service - staff not attentive, need to be more smiley.
Atmosphere - air con not strong, feeling hot.
This place is opposite Beauty World shopping mall.
There are many great vareties of food.
Nearby bus stop and Beauty World MRT.
One of my fav Thai restaurants at SG. Food and ambience is great. Staffs are friendly. Cost is nominal.
The rom yam soup was amazing. The food was really good and the drinks were great, the only downside was that the chicken tasted quite bad like it’s been kept for quite a while before being cooked and as such didn’t taste fresh, apart from that the seafood in the tom yam soup was really tasty!
We ordered the Wonderful set for 6pax. For the set that we ordered it was more than sufficient for us!! (I think cause we ordered additional tomyam friend rice and the pad thai that came first and it was so GOOD!!) Unfortunately didn’t manage to take pics for the food because as soon as it came we dive into the food as we were hungry and honestly the food was yumz! There was only 1 person in the kitchen when we came and we thought that it would take a long time for our food to come because there was other customers too but it didn’t!! Shout out to the chef w black spectacles!! Food came pretty fast!! Mango sticky rice is spot on, warm rice and sweet mangos yums!! It was our first time here and we really enjoyed it.
One of my favourite places for good halal thai dishes. Today i had the creamy butter chicken and it’s soo addictive !!! Highly recommend. Beef tendon noodles were decent and flavourful.
Not bad place for simple gathering & dishes are good except for the Tom Yum that's tasted like from the package with too much MSG, that's keeping us up through the night getting a drink. This takes a 🌟 off
Iced Green Tea is special and nice. The beef noodles also taste specially good and authentic. $12.90 only.
Too spicy for me, but my mixed Thai love it. The green curry not that nice. Tom yum frird rice is quite generous as they put a lot prawn and squid. See, I never waste my food. Petai very spicy and alot of meat. Value for money.
Quick service. The doumiao, garlic beef, sambal petau only cost 6.90 each. The petai even fried with minced chicken! The steam squid is nice too! Out of curiosity we tried the Ice Nom Yen(Thai Pink Milk). Hmm taste like cough syrup. 😅
Some really authentic and spicy Thai food! All dishes were delicious except the fact that it was a bit too spicy. But for the portion served it was value for money and worth a visit.
Sea bass was great.. a tad too much garlic for me but overall very nice..
The shrimp fried rice was meh… forgettable but tastes nice with the Thai sea bass dish..
The Pandan chicken was awesome. Soft and flavourful, I would definitely order again.
Place was crowded during lunch time on a sat afternoon. We requested to dine in the air con section but was full. We sat and got our food first, but eventually they were nice enough to let us change to another table located inside due to the sweltering heat.
The lady who helped us move the dishes took our plate of fried rice and almost threw it away.. Amboi tak sabar nak clear our table gitu.
Service could be improved ( Thai food = Thai = land of smiles but I only got the smile from their cashier when I paid my meal at the end of it all lol)
This is the best Thai food so far I've try, Don't take my word for it come here and try it for yourself. My favourite dessert got to be Coconut Ice Cream you will scream for more...
Went there on 07/04/24 for my Ramadan break fast with my family. Please note that restaurant is has halal certificate by MUIS.
(DO NOT SPREAD FALSE INFORMATION)
Menu does not even stated about having pork.
Manage to book table for 3pax. Arrive before 7pm and even receive my food before break fasting. Food was delicious and amazing been there multiple times. Everything is worth trying! Especially their Pad Thai, green curry & basil beef with rice. Their green Thai milk tea is to die for!! Place is very cosy, clean and all of staff are very friendly. 9/10
Do drop by if you are craving for authentic halal Thai cuisines. Walking distance from Beauty world MRT.
Can refer to menu from here:

No service tax. No frills, satisfying meals.
Accessible by Downtown Line (Beauty World, Exit A)
Ordered a green curry chicken + stir fried basil chicken. The portion for green curry chicken is honestly pathetic for two pax, whereas the basil chicken portion is still fine. Taste is above satisfactory.
In a way...it save my day as all others has crazy long que...seafood tofu has became like a sweet n sour dish but its still not too bad
Go for it and go with their authentic well cooked Thai dishes to have your thoughts of coming back again.
It's worth the value of every cents spend for the quality of the taste and the presentation.
Food was fast and delicious. Best of all... Its HALAL! Very highly recomended.
Food is average. Only good thing is this Thai place is Halal.
The food here was delicious. Our group managed to choose from a wide variety of choices and everything from the taste all the way to the presentation was amazing. Desserts were great especially the mango sticky rice but the thai milk tea ice cream was a-bit off because I could taste the ice in it. Staffs were really friendly and accommodating. It is even halal certified. Would definitely recommend this place.
Food can be improved. Fried rice was too salty, Tom yum lacked flavour but was spicy. Considering that the restaurant was recently renovated, the yellow cushion seats were stained and looks unsightly.
Delicious pad siew aka beef pad thai & Bandung. $12.40 very reasonable
Price is reasonable. Justifiable for their portion. GOOD THINGS is that It's open till late night. Will visit again.to try their main. 😊
The food here is pretty good as the ingredients balance one another out. I had the olive fried rice ($6.90) which is a recommended dish. My first spoonful felt a little salty. But if you eat it together with the cashews and raw onions on the side, the taste of the dish becomes delicious. The stir fried morning glory ($6.90) had plenty of garlic too and made for a complete filling meal.
Good Thai food, worth your time to eat if you're in the area.
Had the seafood pad thai, glass noodles, fried chicken and clear tom yum soup. All good except for the tom yum soup, not enough umami taste.
Overall good, will go again.
Brought a bunch of Malaysian friends for their first meal after crossing the causeway. This place is a great halal option for this area.
Steamed sea bass is garlicky, savoury and perfectly cooked; Pandan chicken is fragrant and delicious; clear seafood Tom yum is mouth-wateringly sharp and flavorful; sambal Kang kong is greasy but yummy and a decent-sized portion. Basil fried chicken is simple but heck, perfect with rice. Time for a nap!
Nice food, Basil chicken and mango sticky rice is nice, must try!!
Not the most expensive but neither is it cheap. Average. There are better and cheaper value choices elsewhere. Charge 50c for. Warm and cold water while other Thai restaurant would have provided you with free flow of. Water with even lemons with no charge. With spicy Thai you need lots of water and drinks and their drinks are not cheap. Payment options were also limited. Wish they could have visa Paywave or FavePay
Highly recommend their fried prawn cake, juicy and consistent. For someone who has zero tolerance for spice but craves for thai basil chicken, they did well. Good for the westies but hopefully they have one in the east soon :)
The milk tea is so delicious and tom yam fried rice is surprisingly good! Will go back and try other dishes for sure.
Really tasty food (rice topped with chicken in black pepper soss and pad thai). We had our meal with two Iced Nom Yen. You have to also try their beef soup with tendons!!! Best Beef Noodles I have ever tasted.
Food was delicious and cheap, and a good place to chill out till late. It is also halal.
Parking nearby is difficult. They provide awesome and tasty food. Clean and neat environment
Reasonable price also
The food is good, a lots of other thais foods to choose. Space is spacious, the only issues is the car parking. Recommend to friends and family members. 👍
The food is great, service was good. Not so expensive yet not so cheap. It's right in the middle. The thai food was great! Loved the ice tea
Nice authentic halal Thai restaurant. Staff were friendly and good quality food. A bit pricy but you'll get what you pay for.
Good quality affordable Thai food with no GST and service charge. The portion of dishes is really huge!
Good and authentic Thai food that's inexpensive - really a hidden and underrated gem!
Not too overly done on the flavours. I'd say excellent 👌 for everyday eating.
