A quiet and cozy place for lunch. Service staff Lavin was friendly and attentive. Signature skewed kampong chicken was amazing. Must taste its original taste without sauce. The skewed Tonboro was grilled w sauce but too salty for me. Sashimi was even better. The salmon was properly frozen and I loved the special in-house sauce that went with it. I would like to explore their food-sake pairing. They have a package for junmai ginjo, tokubetsu genshu and karakuchi.

Torimaro has become a go-to spot for me. The restaurant's ambiance is perfect for a relaxed and enjoyable meal. Their menu might be simple, but the flavors are anything but. The yakitori is a standout, transporting me straight to the heart of Osaka with every bite. I've also had the pleasure of trying their special items, which never disappoint. Torimaro is definitely worth a visit for anyone who appreciates authentic Japanese cuisine.

A very beautiful lady her name is lavin her service is so good give her a raise please. The food is soooooooooooo goood that I suggest10/10 if you happen to pass buy do try the food is heavenly . Very cool place for an izakaya. Tucked in the corner of novena. The place is like a traditional Japanese izakaya, it's cosy and u can see sake every where. Food wise, it's nice and to our liking. The service staff is chatty and friendly. She will encourage us to eat it hot and chat with us about different menu items.

Delighted with the dining experience! Every dish, notably the beef tataki, showcased exceptional preparation with garlic chips, shredded onions, spring onion, and carrot creating a delightful ensemble. The ponzu sauce added a perfect touch. Despite the culinary delight, the $4 charge for white rice felt a tad steep. However, the overall ambiance and convenient parking made it a solid find for an enjoyable evening.

A Japanese owned restaurant with cosy and nice setup. The waiting time for the food was rather long but this was compensated by the good quality and tasty food. We enjoyed the crispy, deep fried tofu($7), tasty grilled stingray($12), grilled pork belly($18) and chicken karage ($10). The sake has complemented well 😋 On our 2nd visit, we enjoyed the oyako don, beef don and hokkaido burnt cheesecake with vanilla ice cream. The cheesecake paired well with the sake. Highly recommended 👍

If you’re not travelling to Japan anytime soon, this is one of the best local options to enjoy your yakitori fix. We ordered some specials off the seasonal menu and they were fabulous! The aburi ankimo (monkfish liver) was nicely grilled on the outside and the creamy texture was thoroughly enjoyable. First time I’ve had it prepared this way over the usual cold appeitzer style at various sushi-yas. The raw corn from Hokkaido could’ve masqueraded as the dessert course. Loved the chicken gizzards, neck and soft bone sticks. Textures were spot on. Levels of smokiness, char and salt were on point. Wash it all down with your preferred sake or beer and enjoy the friendly service!

Authentic Japanese food by Japanese chef. When I went, it just makes me feels like I'm in a restaurant in Japan, as there are Japanese customers. Great food and sake. A good place to bring friends and family. The chef will cook the sukiyaki for you.

Absolutely loved the food! We got about 15 skewers, some sides and alcohol. Didn't take pics of food, but we really loved the draft sake which came in a really cute serving cup. Wonderful service by all crew, especially Serene & Lavine who took great care of us during our visit 😊 Our personal favourites were: chicken thigh, chicken with leek. If you drink, you can try the Name Sake (as the picture attached)! It's sweet and easy to drink for novice like us!

Came here for Saturday night dinner without reservation and thankfully we were able to get a small table. So glad we came here! Service was top-notch (special shoutout to Lavin for being so attentive and helpful) and we really enjoyed every dish! Wandered into this place in Novena on a Thursday night, and was surprised to find it pretty crowded with many Japanese custoners. After tasting the food, I realised why! The grilled sticks are to die for, the somen, the fried mozzerella, actually everything was delicious. They have a brilliant Japanese chef and to top it off, amazing amazing service!! We were lucky to come at an earlier dinner hour and got seats without a reservation. The place was packed! We loved the food when we were at the Raffles Place branch but the food here in Novena was excellent! We absolutely love our server, Lavin, as she displayed professionalism and service was attentive and was very patient. Definitely will visit here again!

A very nice Izakaya for authentic and delicious Japanese skewers with carefully crafted food. Friendly team Lavin and Kenji. We became regulars and the food standard is always consistent. Our go-to when we are looking to have a quiet night with simple and delicious Japanese food, or when we feel like having q night of food, laughter and drinks with friends. Ambience is comforting and not noisy. A lovely place to hang out.

Stumbled upon this place. Japanese-run joint, frequented by japanese customers - you know it's gotta be good! Prices are steep but may be considered standard for yakitori joints. Would recommend the yakitori don for it's good value. There was a wide selection of alcohol/cocktails too. A great place for whiling away a couple hours with good food and good company.

Honestly, prices slightly higher than normal, but the quality doesn’t really justify the prices. The food is well prepared, but just slightly lacking. They have a large variety of alcohol, even my favourite daiyame lychee shochu. Staff and owners are very friendly. Will recommend to people that are in the area.

Very homely Japanese restaurant to dine in. The food is very good and highly addictive especially if you drink. My suggestion is after a hard days work, go there drink highball, get their skewers as accompaniment, you will feel good about life again. Haha highly recommend !
