Reviews of TungLok Seafood (Orchard Central)
The food was truly delightful, and the service was exceptionally attentive. I really appreciated the ala carte buffet; it felt like a wonderful value for what I received.
Cheap shrimp for the gongbao. Sauce didn't go well with the batter & shrimp.
Crab fried rice ($34++) & garlic asparagus ($20++) were ok, least you should expect from a Chinese restaurant but not keen to try again at this price point without good discounts.
We book a private room for 12 pax and chose our menu in advance. The signature chilli crabs were huge and we had to send the claws back to the kitchen for cracking. The room was actually too small for 12 pax. The food generally met expectations except for the roast duck which was very saltish. They don’t serve Peking duck which was a serious let-down.
It’s a pleasant experience here, great services from staffs and thank you for the additional decorations on top of our own cake, the staff even sang the birthday song tgt 🤩🙌🏻🙌🏻
Excellent service and food. Thanks for making our birthday celebration a memorable one!
We tried the Buffet Dinner. Overall not very good. Most of the dishes were salty. The fish skin and the Chilli crab were good, the rest of the dishes so-so only.
Service was good, but there was clearly not enough service staff, which is quite common after Covid-19.
We had the free flow soda but the coke was flat, no gas at all.
There was a 90 minute limit so make sure you order and eat what you can finish.
Excellent food. Excellent service.
Went there again for Mother’s day A la carte seafood lunch buffet. Total 37 delicious dishes including Salmon Sadhimi, Braised Shark’s Fin with fish maw, Chilli Crab……, price at S$49.8++. We have 10 people gathering. Every one enjoyed the food and the dining time at Tunglok seafood restaurant.
CNY buffet for $48.80++. The food are as delicious as my last visit 1 year ago. Favourites are crispy eggplant, sweet and sour pork, and sautéed scallop.
Serving speed is slow, waited 45mins for the crispy fish skin and smoked duck. Did they skin and fish and kill the duck in the kitchen after I ordered?? Service staff is very friendly and professional, helped to ‘escalate’ multiple times. One of the best Chinese restaurant for CNY gathering buffet.
Brought my family here for a birthday dinner. We got the deluxe seafood buffet and it was good! All the dishes were prepared and cook well, we especially enjoyed the fried sea bass, mala beef tendon, fried rice, herbal prawn, steamed oysters and salmon sashimi!
The portion sizings were just nice, not too much and not too little for the six of us! Allowing us to eat more of the other dishes. The staff were attentive in topping up our drinks and clearing our plates and also replacing with clean ones.
I gave it 4 stars as it felt a little rushed when dining, our seating was from 8pm to 10pm, but last order is at 9:15pm. There were times where the waitress missed out on some of our orders and we had to wait till the next round to get them. Suggest to be clear when placing your order so you get the best out of the buffet within the time slot!
Nonetheless, it was still a great experience, and I would come back again with friends and families!
Been there this afternoon, not too crowded. So service is top notch. Went for the deluxe buffet lunch. Chilli crab was fresh and sauce was tangy. Vermicelli oyster was good too. But the carrot cake was a little disappointing, because the cut was so big and spongy lol. The sashimi was nice n fresh. Abalone sautéed mushrooms was good too. But the hor fun is a little too big portion already. Taste was just right, without tasting a lots of msg.
Nice dishes for the buffet! But the chilli crab had too much tomato taste that covered the spicy taste. Overall the food was great. They provided 2 wet tissues and a paper bag was provided to keep our mask while we eat. Very thoughtful.
Was surprised that they have ala carte buffet on the weekend night. Service was good, friendly and fast reaction. Food quality was not bad consider the price I paid per pax. Got to try quite a lot of dishes on the buffet list.
Note: Don't expect top quality food consider the price you are paying.
This is one of the few ala carte buffets that have been around waaaaaayyyy before COVID-19 started and buffet restaurants have to switch their ordering system to ala carte style instead of taking from the spread. This ensures food safety is not compromised as dishes are cooked/prepared as you order. That said, don’t be over enthusiastic in ordering. Use your stomach space for the items really worth it. The offering is really extensive and very value for money for the price point.
Families will enjoy the setting, and with COVID-19 safe distancing management, the restaurant is very comfortably spaced vs pre COVID, when it was pretty crowded.
Staff service is much better as they are not as rushed, and I was very delighted that the staff gave us a whole jug of water vs us requesting them to top up constantly. All diners are presented with 2 sets of wet wipes to ensure their hands are clean before eating and paper bags are given for masks storage during dining.
Food quality has always been good. The go to items are the sashimi, chilli crab, fish maw with sharks fin and the deep fried sea bass and broccoli. I personally like the sautéed clam with black bean sauce and the spinach with wolf berry. I would give the squid a skip as I find it a tad over cooked, hence chewy. The poached prawns in herbal soup is a must order too. Big eaters would definitely love to double order the prawns, fish and sashimi. I like the cereal prawns, but I would not reorder that for the second round, as the poached prawns do bring out the freshness n sweetness of the prawns much more. I skipped the fish skin this round as I find it full of empty calories and fill you up easily. Dessert must order is definitely the herbal jelly. Kids will definitely love the cream puff with ice cream. The chilled aloe Vera is very refreshing. With so much food in you, you will want something light and tangy to finish off the meal, hence the aloe Vera is a good dish to order if you only have space for one dessert.
That said, this restaurant is definitely one of the families must go to place if they are intending to dine out. It will be very much suitable for families of all ages (especially the older folks) who love Chinese food.
We celebrated Sister in laws birthday. Ala carte buffet spread is gorgeous..Big portions and repeated orders enjoyed by all. The sweet, courteous staff Siew Yong was very helpful. Thank you. Will be back... definitely.
Went for dinner and food quality was great! The service crew were attentive and dishes were served at proper temperature. They even gave a voucher for the next meal.
Value for money ala carte lunch buffet. Dim sum was really good especially the fried xo carrot cake. They also have a range of main dishes like prawn and chicken to carbs like hor fun and fried rice.
2nd visit: the XO carrot cake was disappointing. Dim sum was kinda lacklustre. Ala carte buffet price is increased from 28.80 to 38.80, seafood ALA carte buffet cost $43.80++
Pretty decent ala carte Chinese style buffet. Prawn is quite fresh. Special dishes were up to standard. Rest of dishes were OK but nth fantastic
Went for the ala Carte buffet about 3 weeks ago, food was good but service so so, pretty busy and crowded on a weekday.
Dim sum was average, lucky they serve salmon sashimi which was my favourite.
Their salted egg prawn was good too, but find it too oily after ordered the 2nd plate ;p.
Their portion was big and you will be pretty full after first round.
If more variety on the food will be prefect and Dessert variety very less, portion too small.
Overall good value for the food but peanut, tea and wet tissue not included.
Great servings of food for buffet lunch. The seafood dishes we had were fresh and delicious!
Chilli crab and peking duck was superb. Crab is done really well and the sauce ia not the watwry type. It is tasty and can see egg inside the sauce. Food is really good and the customer experience is very good. Servers are courteous and always fill up the tea pot without calling them. Great place to host friends and foreign visitors.
Although restaurant wasn't full during dinner , we arrived earlier than our reservation time, was not allowed to sit in a table whilst waiting. Its an inflexible policy that is not practised with guest service in mind. Service was faster than we thought and soon we could not finish whats on the dishes fast enough before another few more were brought out. There were only a few items on the desert menu but by then most of us were already full .
I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience at TungLok Seafood Orchard Central. The ambience was delightful, complemented by attentive service. The menu offered a diverse selection of fresh seafood dishes, each prepared with precision and flavorful finesse. I look forward to returning soon to savor more culinary delights.
Came for weekday dinner buffet, ordered several plates of salmon! The cut is thick and fresh! Can't stop to have more and more. Salted egg fish skin taste good too
chili crab was not spicy and quite thirsty afterward.
Mar 2021. Had a huge crave for dim-sum today. Stumbled upon Tunglok Seafood's ala carte buffet.
I had to say that the dim-sum were not at their best for en masse preparation. Certain dishes were high in sodium, like chicken feet and coffee pork.
The staff were clearly busy to pay attention to the fine details of service.
They still waited on you upon request, nothing much to complain about though.
Their alaka buffet has a good selection..not really many selection but quality is good. The fried items was not that fresh during my visit but the other dishes do make up for it. Drunken prawns is a must try.
I personally think the food quality is pretty good for the amount paid for an ala carte buffet. Service overall is good and certainly will come back again.
Visited on fathers' day and got the deluxe buffet. Fast and good service - crew was prompt in refilling our tea and clearing our plates. We got to try many dishes because the food is portioned based on the number of pax at your table. We liked the crab, salmon sashimi, jellyfish salad, salted egg prawn ball and abalone. Overall it was a pleasant experience and it's a good place for families.
The food was awesome! However, do take note that some of the dishes in the buffet menu only caters to one serving per diner for the entire duration. 😊
Good team lunch dining experience. You can choose the fixed menu buffet. Staff service is good. Buffet option is Chinese type. Fish, Crab, prawn and chicken dish option available. Suitable for group meetup and dine outing. They serve helathy Chinese tea, herbal soup as part of the buffet.
Decent buffet spread for the price paid. Some hits and misses for the dishes. Salted egg fish skin and pork floss eggplant were good. Chilli crab taste abit bland.
Interesting buffet concept and food was good. However, the menu could do with more description of the dish to avoid ambiguity. The location is really good on the balcony of the mall, albeit views of the city is quite limited
went with my family recently. food was good but service was pretty bad.. reading the menu halfway, the service staff took away the menu. have not finished eating my meal, staff chased for payment 3 times. quite disappointed compared to the previous time I came here
The first time we sent in our order, it wasn’t registered in the system, but we didn’t know. We only found out when the manager kept asking us to order again, and I said I’ll order again after we finish the first round. Turns out she thought we haven’t ordered, since her staff didn’t enter the info into the system, and they couldn’t find my order sheet. I filled in another order sheet, and I noticed that there’re some items different between my first sheet and second sheet. When I asked the manager, she dismissively said, “oh, old and new menu different. Nah, take this.” After that, we had to remind the staff a few times about our food.
The restaurant seemed to be quite disorganized, and the manager’s attitude was rather dismissive. There was no acknowledgement of their mistake. The food wasn’t bad but the organization could have been better.
Love all the dishes except the sweet sour fish and the fried carrot cake.
Would say that it is value for money for the a la carte buffet. Well above average.
Nice place! Delicious food!
Decent variety of its buffer spread but unfortunately it's more Quantity over food Quality. However price is good for its variety on offer
The service is good. No hard selling and we are being given a free fried nian Gao. The sashimi is good ! The salmon is fresh and thick. Dishes in general good. Nice experience .
Best seafood ever. Service is great 👍
Thank you Tunglok and Ms Bee 🙏
Buffet dinner. The serving portions was just nice, we ordered a few dishes and we were all full. Food average good. Total spent for 4adults & 1 kid about $230.
I love to dine at tunglok for their culinary skills and tasty food. I was expecting no less at this outlet.. Food was all tasty and price was reasonable.
yes to everything, yes to carrot cake yes to sashimi yes to fried chicken yes to salted egg fish skin yes to salted egg crab yes to piping hot fresh food yes to everything
if i had a last meal before i died tong le would be one of my stops (real)
Service staff very friendly. Food is nice and generous.
Recommend to come again.
Attentive Service especially those few (紫音) that serviced us... The 1 time ordered crab is too sour to our taste buds due to the orange juice added
Very good service with yummy food. The staff Han Poh , he is super nice n friendly
Went for the ala carte then realise that they have ala carte buffet. Will try the buffet next time, the menu looks really good
Food was incredible! Best meal in Singapore so far. Great recommendations by staff, very attentive and helpful!
I want to thank you Johnaton, for your great service on Saturday afternoon. It’s always a joy to see your smiling face. You are so efficient and friendly. Thanks for letting us have a wonderful lunch together.
Had the dim sum buffet lunch service on a Sunday afternoon. Price was decent, food is good but I was amazed the service crew, special mention to Jonathan for his exceptional service. Will be back again here because of his good service!
The chili crab is a delectable dish that I highly recommend.
Chili grab with mantao so delicious, bee hoon soup also delicious, services is okay.
Really good service from the staff especially han bao and Jonathan. I was pleasantly surprised by how han bao decorated the cake I bought my sis for her birthday. Thank you guys!
Had a dinner with a group of colleagues during CNY. Restaurant was pack but food was good. Some dishes that we took.
My family was there for my sister’s birthday. Friendly and attentive staff and very prompt service. Thumbs up! Good ambience too
Food quality was not up to expectationespecially the fried chicken. Portion size acceptable.
I highly recommend their deluxe lunch buffet, which we experience @ Orchard Central! Lucky to get a seat as it was very crowded and we did not have reservations... We loved the food! Will be back, for sure!
Went for the buffet, felt the food quality is not so good. Service also not so good, perhaps they're understaffed. They should leverage more on the robot.
Good environment, good service and the food are great 😊
Good food good service good environment. Would love to visit again.
Service was great, esp Ms Susan. Food is good. But the place a bit squeezy. Not enough walkway.
first exp was lunch with my colleagues. it was very good and food came in good time and the experience was great. so i brought my family to try and it was during dinners second seating. fm 8pm onward i believe. the experience was not good because our food came very late and the last order was at 915pm. so i didnt enjoy it anymore.
Quality of food dropped significantly - seafood was so-so, dim sum left a lot to be desired. Given the price point of $50 an adult, more worthwhile eating somewhere else.
The chilli crab was very good and competitively priced compared to other seafood restaurants. It was a little on the sweet side. The non seafood dishes we ordered were not bad. The only complaint is that we waited almost 30 minutes for the crab and we had practically finished eating all other dishes before the crab arrived.
Nice food and good service.
Good for big gathering. Decent Salmon cuts.
I booked a table to celebrate my mum birthday on Sunday. We took the deluxe lunch buffet but ate at 10am because the booking are so overwhelming that they opened the morning slot as well. I took the 10am slot because we are having dim sum so eating early were ok for us. I have to praised the service, all the aunties served us well. They were nice and able to give good advises on the dishes. We were more disappointed with the dishes. We had the deluxe lunch dim sum, that mean we have some dishes that can only order once. The chilli crab was so so only. The shark fin soup was not flavourful at all, I have to add vinegar to drink down the soup. The sour soup was too salty. There was no Chee Cheong fun in the menu. The prawn dumpling skin was too thick, siew mai was average (very hard to find nice siew mai in singapore). The dessert gui ling gao have the burnt taste.
However, the poached herbal prawn was fresh and good. The yuzu jelly fish appetizer was refreshing good.
I would have expected better taste in the dishes from Tung Lok.
Jonathan is a great server. He is a great asset to your restaurany
I used to misunderstand Tongle as a seafood buffet, but when I came here, I discovered that it is a formal seafood restaurant with private rooms. I think if a good friend wants to eat crabs again before leaving, then this is an option.
Although there are only two of us, we both like to eat, so we can’t be vague about our orders. Let's start with two cups of shark's fin soup, both of which are full of ingredients. The crab meat and shark's fin soup tastes better. It's not as thick as the one in the Thai village, and there's no red vinegar either.
As a platter of four, the pickled tomatoes are quite delicious and refreshing. I think the crab meat fried rice with the egg yolk shrimp on the side is also good.
The vegetables are a three-layer tower, with milk cabbage at the bottom, tofu and mushrooms on top, and the taste is average.
One kilogram of chili crab, the crab claws are not full enough. The sauce here is not particularly spicy and seems to have more eggs.
I have been here a few times and the service is very good and the food is delicious. Especially the service from Qbee and jonanthan is very good! My family and I are very happy and enjoy their service. I plan to have a birthday party there next time for my mother-in-law's birthday. 👍👍
The service is good and the food is delicious. I usually choose the seafood lounge on the 11th floor.
The food is delicious, the seafood is also delicious, and the service is also very good. The service attitude of the person named jess is very good👍I recommend this restaurant
Tung Lok Seafood is the restaurant I am most familiar with on Orchard Road. I come here to have dinner with my family and friends whenever I have time. I like their buffet the most. It has many varieties, affordable prices, beautiful environment, and most importantly, the warm service. Every time Dining here is as warm as going to a friend's house, especially qbee's warm service. We watched her step by step from waiter to supervisor. We will always support her.
I really like the environment and dishes here. There is a VIP Room. I also like the staff here. They are enthusiastic and patient. There is also a manager who looks very cute. I will definitely get her name next time and will bring friends.
Seafood restaurant on the upper floor of 313.
When I requested chili crab for a company dinner, a local member arranged it for me.
First, prepare the chili crab and enjoy the fried bread with the sauce and TIGER beer! ! !
We also enjoyed seafood such as fried fish skin, fried chicken, stir-fried scallops with garlic, and fried noodles.
Chili crab sauce is a little spicy. The seasoning of the other dishes was also good and not too strong.
Recommended for station buildings!
The food at Tung Lok Seafood Restaurant in Orchard Road OC is delicious, I recommend everyone to try it👍
