Reviews of Wang Dae Bak Pocha Korean BBQ
Was there for lunch gathering with colleagues. Quite good place to eat and catch up. Wasn’t like super noisy and all.
Service was ok. Foods are served promptly as well.
Will recommend to reserve a table to avoid disappointment, in case walk in and couldn’t have a table size to fit your group size.
Cozy Korean food venue you can try classic Korean food, they offer refills of the starters. Every time I find myself eating too much in the end. Staff are extremely friendly and nice. One more thing, the price is reasonable compared to their neighbors. You probably can’t find similar things in the very central locations of Singapore.
Although, It was a busy dinner time with many customers, I was able to eat one serving of Kimchi stew by myself. The variety of side dishes was delicious and stew also excellent. However, the quality of pork in the kimchi stew was a bit disappointing.
Authentic Korean cuisine. Love their pancakes and the bbq pork belly. The army stew is not too spicy and it’s so delicious that I can finish one noodle by myself. Highly recommended
Have a year end gathering with my colleagues. We ordered family sets which to us alot. Decent BBQ set. Can request server to assist for the BBQ. 😀
Have a good time with my colleagues.
Update 5 Mar 2022. First post vax family meal. Still 5 stars!
Update 21 Jun 2021. Seafood pancake is super crispy. Very generous portions for the pricing.
Worth the price for weekday lunch. Quality of hotplate beef is really good. Very happy with portion size. Side dishes also very good.
It must have been the timing of our dinner on the 26th of December. The staff was great, courteous and prompt. The food we had not so, otherwise it would have been 5 stars from me. I did notice they were turning diners away at the door, which goes to show they have reached capacity.
overall very recommended place to eat with your friends.
Ordered the pancake, kimchi soup and marinated meat for the BBQ.
Pancake was crispy, tasty, and the size of a large pizza! The sauce that came with it was excellent!
Kimchi soup maybe a little spicy for some people, but we didn't mind as it was suitable for our pallette.
The meat was fresh and properly marinated. Vegetables and side dish provided were good, too!
Just be mindful of chop chop and non-smiling service especially when it is crowded. I think the waiters there are mainly part-timers.
Ambient is good. Food is generous and authentic. Spicy beef soup is a little too spicy to my taste but it’s still generally acceptable. Went for early lunch and it was full by 12.15pm. Food is fast as well.
Not typically a big fan of Korean cuisine but the kimchi pancake was stellar. It was perfectly crisp around the edges and had sufficient kimchi. It was also not too floury. We also had the sweet spicy chicken wings which were tasty enough. Enjoyed the very kitsch, street style ambience and good service. And they don't stinge on water.
Happy with all we have ordered. Service is prompt and good. Price is reasonable. Will come again.
Came across this place by accident and did not regret taking a chance. It was almost full house for weekday dinner. I saw that many patrons were having beer towers, kimchi fried rice, and pancakes. Do note that the prices for the dinner menu are more expensive than lunch.
I had the ginseng chicken soup ($18). This was very hearty and warming for a cold rainy day. A sizeable portion of chicken, the meat was not too tough.
I also had the honey soya boneless fried chicken ($22). This was amazingly good. The pieces were not greasy and fried to perfection. This dish went well with the banchan that was provided free of charge. There were crunchy beansprouts, kimchi and sweet beancurd skin.
I also had the moscato soju, which is really green grapes flavour ($16). This went well with the fried chicken.
Overall, I would highly recommend this place. Service was prompt and the food was good value.
We came here on a Saturday evening. Highly recommended to reserve your tables in advance as it was really crowded. We had the pork bbq set B for 2 pax and a kimchi soup to share. Food was decent. Will come back to try the pancakes next time.
Loved the kimchi pancake and the meat platter for 2. The service was on point. We didn't even need to lift a finger to bbq the meat as there was a lovely aunty helping us with it.
Had one of my best Korean BBQ experiences at Wang Dae Bak. Service was 100/10 - the staff was so attentive and would help with cutting and serving the meat (at least 8 times during the meal). Meat was extremely well-marinated and tasted so flavourful. Loved all the side dishes too, especially the garlic sauce tofu. Only negative comment would be the powdery mashed potato, but it's easily overlooked with all the wonderful aspects of the place!!
Amazing food selection. Item is slightly costly but it's very tasty. The waiter there is also helpful enough to help you grill the food too! Greatly support!
if you are looking for authenthic korean bbq resto this is the place to be.Just make sure to book a table before you go. They offer the best bbq set that is worth every penny and they have a variety of choices on their menu. Good range of side dishes, sauces and they have best tasting freshly made kimchi in town. i also recommend try their kimchi pancake its simply the best..i have tried kimchi soup as well super tasty and yummy.
Very authentic Korean BBQ with good BBQ sets and drink specials. Restaurant is popular and I recommend making a reservation to reduce waiting time. The kimchi pancake was amazing
Always full house because the shop is small. Must make a reservation to avoid disappointment. Their set is worth a penny. $89 for 3-4 people. Love their side dishes especially raddish, cucumber and kimchi. Their pancake is the best! Love it very much. Will definitely come back again. Service is good too. You can buy their kimchi too!
Most authentic BBQ I've had in Singapore so far, the side dishes are free flow, order as much as you want. Staff and service speed is good. Though the only set back is the insufficient ventilation, your clothes and hair will guarantee to have a real pungent smell afterwards
Delicious Korean bbq with helpful and friendly staff. Our group of 5 ppl ordered the 2 pork and 1 chicken set that comes with a huge pancake and spicy soup. We also had 6 bottles of soju and makkeoli. Only paid $43 per person. Amazing deal!
Ordered the Soul Meat Set for $148++ which is recommended for 3-4pax. Comes with a choice of stew, half-half pancake (seafood & kimchi), pork and chicken.
To be fair the meat quality is alright but had to cook the entire bbq by ourselves.
Was quite a hectic dining experience and the atmosphere certainly didn’t help, with the AC and smoke inhaler being on the weaker end.
Also ordered a 500ml yuzu makgeolli for $20 which was basically a makegeolli jug with a spoonful of Yuzu Honey Concentrate at the bottom hmmm was kinda expecting a bottled version?
Overall, a warm-oily-smoky-hectic dining experience with a total bill of $200 after service charge(?!) and GST
A little pricey but its worth it! The meat and the huge variety of free flow side dishes were very fresh.
Minus 1 star because the main star of this restaurant is the KBBQ, which is absolutely amazing. The other dishes were disappointing.
It'd be better if they had more meat sets for the KBBQ
We ordered the Duroc pork set for 2 pax. But the pork belly was really tough and not flavourful. With the price we paid, i expected more. The meat also took a reallyyyy long time to cook, not sure why.
Great food- relatively cheap during lunch time, especially if you're willing to share. The bibimbap was good, the rice cakes in chili sauce very nice.
The serve the food quite quickly, which is appreciable.
One of the nicer korean bbq restaurants in this crowded korean street. Love their spicy chicken and beef, pork was basic. The kimchi pan cake is to die for !
Very nice “Korean Street” ambience. They serve all the nice Korean food that we earthly Singaporeans know of. From Jeon to Korean Fried Chicken.
Decent korea lunch sets. Service is fine but the place is a bit too oily and it smells of bbq.
We were there for a weekend lunch. Although it was a busy time for the restaurant, the responses to our requests were met promptly. We were especially impressed with the service by a young man named XX who was very patient with our multiple orders and requests. He happened to be around when one of us dropped our chopsticks on the ground. He took initiative to give us a fresh pair of chopsticks without us asking. Thank you, XX. Will definitely be back.
Have tried countless Korean BBQ restaurants in Singapore and this restaurant is still my favorite. Been there 5 times in the last 3 months. The Duroc pork belly and pancakes are a must order. The grilled kimchi and bean sprouts are super yummy especially after they absorbed all the grilled meat juices. The banchans are really good too.
Pancake is crispy and soft inside and very tasty with the sauce provided. Had the Ginseng soup and tofu soup which was both very yummy. The meats avaialble were also tender with good marbling. Also had the cold noodles which was a very refreshing treat. Overall i am satisfied with our meal there. Something about these places is that the table is always never big enough to accommodate but other than that. All is good.
Delicious. Full house on a Monday night. Need reservation for sure. Very filling set, refills of sides were quite prompt. Recommended.
My past experiences with this restaurant has been good, however last night the food was only okay, but it may be because we ordered the wrong thing. The marinated pork collar had a very soft texture which was not what I was expecting and the cold spicy noodle had a weird taste (though the pickled vegetables that went with it was very nice). The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Very good Korean food. Great atmosphere as well. The kimchi and seafood pancake was very well done. I liked how they put the kimchi on the BBQ as well.
One of the best Korean restaurants in SG. Really love the food here. Authentic and delicious Korean food. Service was good too. Highly recommended!
Generous portion of food given and their soups taste good! It has nice deco and has a Korean feel to to it.
Lunch menu of meat + soup for $16. Generous portion of meat and seafood in the soup
Been there few rounds but seems quality of food and taste very different from old days... Don't think will be back future.
I really love this restaurant the price is competitive with other Korea restaurants, the food are nice and all of the side sides are nice too.
Good Korean BBQ. Pork collar , pork belly and skewed chicken is good, especially served with the fresh lettuce & radish slices. The ginseng chicken soup pretty tasty 😋 too.
Nothing beats having Ginseng chicken soup on a rainy day.
One of the best Korean BBQ restaurants in Singapore. Their kimchi jeon and bbq meats are definite stars. Would suggest coming in a group, so that you can enjoy the variety.
Pancake is a must-try. Ginseng chicken soup is nice also.
Nice Korean BBQ. Good meat 🥩 and tasty sides. Must try !
The lunch set is valuable and tasty but the service can be further improved. The staff at the first level assigned us table 23 but when we went up, another staff assisted us to another table.
We were asked to shift table while we are eating halfway as they assigned us the wrong table. It was slightly unpleasant as the other staff tried to blame us for sitting on the wrong table.
The seafood pancake, ginseng chicken soup and dumpling are very nice. 😋😋😋 the pork bulgogi tastes better than the chicken bulgogi haha...😌😌😌
Just wanna say the service is so great! Lua also cooked the meat for us so well and the BBQ meat was delicious! I should also share that we forgot our umbrella at the restaurant and one of the staff actually ran and chased after us to give it back to us. Such a great team and I’ll be back again
Food is nice and good quality. However, I reserved weeks in advance on the website and was given the very worse seat in the corner upstairs beside the toilet with almost no aircon. How can customers reserving in advance be given a bad seat instead of a good seat? Then what is the point in reserving? This is not the way to treat a loyal customer right?
Suggest also to have smaller pancake portion available for 2 or 3 people. Customers not coming in big group cannot even order this dish as it is too big a portion to finish.
Food is on the expensive side but place ambience, portion size and taste really makes the visit worth it
Love everything about this place!! Food, service, ambience was 5/5. My go-to place for kbbq from now <3
The food was great! Service was absolutely amazing. Included my receipt so you get a rough idea of the pricing.
They have side dishes such as steam egg, lettuce, kimchi, tea for free which u can top up whenever u need more.
I've been here several times with friends and colleagues and I will keep coming back! The staff are always friendly and the food is always good. Its not the cheapest dinner option for Korean, but I find the quality and portions well worth it. I would recommend the smokeless BBQ as well as the korean pancakes - mains are served with lots of tasty side dishes. Their lunch sets are really value for money too. Its a good idea to make reservations if you're going in the evening - I usually do it via their Facebook page.
Ordered the combo with a side and drinks to share with 4 pax and it was sufficient. Loved the half-half pancakes. Space was a little cramped though.
Really appreciate the crew's service - very friendly and though it was pretty crowded on a Thursday night, they served us promptly when needed. it was an extra enjoyable meal thanks to them :)
Excellent service from the crew despite an extremely busy night - everyone was very cheerful and attentive. Meats were well-marinated and I loved the variety of side dishes at this outlet. The half and half pancake was so crispy. Special shoutout to Lau for the great experience! Thanks for fitting us in without a reservation (:
Good place. Our team at work went there during lunch, so we did not have BBQ. We ordered lunch sets. The sizes were large to feed a adult man and they were good in taste.
Dolsot bibimbap was delicious. Ginseng chicken soup was a little too salty though. $16 weekday set lunch was pretty worth it. Complementary side dishes were good as well! Staff were attentive and courteous.
we had the private room due to large group of 13 pax. took multiple calls and a long time for crew to come to us. the crew will not offer to replenish your side dishes/lettuce/egg so you need to ask.
meat is great. personally i prefer the non-marinated meat, you can taste the true taste of the meat. though the marinated meat is definitely well marinated too. beef is tender and soft, worth the money. kimchi and seafood pancakes are amazing, extremely crispy on the edges and soft on the inside. one of the best i ever had. side dishes are fantastic.
the chairs were oily and the table had stains so thats a point for them to improve on. the private room is stuffy and hot, an outdoor setting would be preferred.
Very good service by Francis and Ralph! Was first greeted by Ralph at the door and he promptly ushered us to our table. Francis was very friendly and took the initiative to refill our side dishes without having to ask him. Food was good and the customer service made the whole experience better. second time here and would be back again!

made reservation early thus did not need to qeueu. got the set meal dinner for 4 pax and is perfect, not too little and not too filling. managed to finish all. the pork belly is delicious along with the collar and chicken. soft tofu soup was one of the best i had and kimchi/seafood pancake is so huge!! never seen any other korean restaurant serve such generous portion. will come again.
BBQ is good and ventilation system isn't bad. Service is attentive and friendly and they have a good selection of soju. The only thing is we had ordered a seafood pancake and it was served undercooked... A little bit of a disappointment!
Authentic korean bbq. decent food. bbq grill has a groove for us to pour and cook scrambled eggs. this place can get crowded so reservations are recommended. also service tends to drop as the crowds comes in
Food was really good. I honestly don't know what I ate as I'm not too familiar with Korean cuisine but its the best I've had so far. S
Lychee soju was great. Portions were big.
Nice Korean bbq. Place is cozy n comfortable. Food is good too, recommend to return .
Good Korean BBQ restaurant. Service is responsive, food is of good quality.
Free flow of Korean tea, side dishes, and lettuce.
Good place to lunch, must go before 12pm to avoid waiting for seats
They have the best spicy seafood tofu soup!
nice Korean food
The decoration here is very Korean and the store has a Korean feel. The food is delicious and the price is good. It feels good. It is suitable for dining with friends and family.
The food was good, but the service was not so good. The waiter didn't even say a word when he was helping to grill the meat. The charcoal fire was still in use, but was taken away without asking.
so on
Great service. Delicious food. Recommended
Delicious, but the air conditioning sucks. Good foods but ventilation is not sufficient.
