Reviews of Woodlands Claypot Prawn @ Marsiling
Trying out here since heard it's Singapore First Charcoal Claypot Prawn! Was surprised to see the place so crowded at weekend evening, most of their tables are set with the Prawn Claypot. They provide free flow of non-chargable sauce bar and refillable soup. In my opinion the broth is already very flavourful, so are the food after cooking in the soup, there is no need to dip in any sauce. Personally feel the portion are pretty decent, so suggest not to order too much at one go if you are not a big eater. Overall all is good. The table are set and clear very fast so no worries about the environment not clean.
Food was good, the prawns were fresh. However, beef had quite a lot of fat parts in it, so I’ll recommend to order their seafood dishes mainly as sides!
Hokkien mee is a MUST try. So flavourful, and came with prawns too!
Broth is unlimited refill as well as sauces.
Staff are very attentive and extremely helpful.
Definitely a place to bring large groups of friends and family!
It is actually an charcoal hotpot place where you were given a menu where you can first select a soup base and tick off whatever you like for add on. We selected the prawn soup base ($32 with 12 big prawn) and some other vegetables, mushroom. (Do note the add on dishes were mainly frozen preserved food, including the scallop). Atmosphere of the charcoal steamboat is really good though it can get quite hot. Taste wise is good but yes, lots of favouring as we all felt so thirsty after. Recommended!.
Edit: returned a second time but none of the prawns we had were fresh, including the ones served with the Hokkien mee.
Soup was great but became progressively too salty. Dishes were also rather quite expensive. Hokkien mee was amazing, highly recommend. Most of the prawns were fresh and of a decent size too.
No ambience to speak of, only come here for the food. Tables and chairs were typical hawker centre standard, grimy not too clean. Super warm and stuffy because of the heat from the claypot.
Eating over a charcoal stove has such a nostalgic feel.
Roaring flames dancing to the rhythm of the wind creating waves of boiling umami prawn broth, cooking the dozen or more prawns quickly.
Finish up the prawns and then cook other hotpot ingredients in the refillable broth! There is a sauce bar with unlimited sauces and condiments, and I love that thoughtful supply of disposable gloves as it’s best to indulge the prawns with our hands without dirtying them.
Do not leave without trying the signature Moonlight Fried Hokkien Mee. The residual heat of the saucy noodles gently cooked the raw egg as it coated the strands of noodles while tossing. It was umami and had great wok breath. So comforting.
Their specialty prawn broth ($32.80) has a considerably rich broth and comes with plenty of fresh and big prawns!! I like how it was served in a clay pot over charcoal and steamboat style - perfect for big groups!! Highly recommend their bursting fishball, Hokkaido scallop, Beancurd prawn roll and shabu pork!!
Hokkien Mee ($8.80) is good but the noodles have an alkaline taste.
Free flow condiments station - homemade chill is really good!
I really wanted to give this place five stars, but I had to scale back on the rating because their broth made me very thirsty during and after the meal. I found it a real pity because their prawn broth tasted amazing during the first few sips.
They do provide really good and warm service, and I loved the concept of having the free-flow aspect of both the broth and sauce bar included in the price of a claypot.
The signature Fried Hokkien Prawn Noodles were decent, but it doesn't outshine some of the better ones out there. I liked the presentation of the noodles though.
If there was a low or non-MSG broth option, I would definitely consider coming back here more often.
Claypot prawn soup on charcoal.
Price is slightly high for the location, this food place is usually quite hot during the day, HVLS fans are blowing hot air down, so good to choose rainy day to go.
Prawns are meaty and nice, the soup got the taste of prawn but not like other specialised big prawn noodle soup type.. however the soup gets thicker and more intense as it cooks longer.. it's very nice to eat with maggi noodles.
Hokkien mee is flavourful at $8.80 (one size). Prawn steamboat soup is good but prawn not fresh. Chilli was great. Worth to try once
First Charcoal Claypot Prawn in Singapore.
Savour the deliciousness of their Specialty Prawn Broth, featuring fresh and succulent prawns served on a charcoal claypot, offering rich taste and aromatic flavours. We can also add a variety of ingredients to the claypot soup. They offer the complimentary unlimited refillable prawn broth and a free-flow sauce bar to maximise our hotpot experience. Don’t miss their Homemade Chili Sauce—it’s the perfect match for their hotpot.
Generous serving of prawns and many hotpot ingredients for you to choose from.
Broth was sweet and flavourful.
Reasonably priced for the serving and amount of prawns. Hokkien mee wok hei was really strong and very creamy especially with the egg yolk. I prefer to have less yellow noodles so the alkaline taste is not that strong.
Love the range of fresh ingredients that they have, and their Prawn broth is so so good! I enjoyed my meals with my friends.
The pricing is reasonable and their sauce bar meets our favourite dipping combination.
Convenient location to get a good prawn claypot hotpot meal! There’s free parking and ample spaces! Broth is umami filled with lots of dishes and a variety of sauces to select from! Gloves are provided for convenience and soup is refillable!
The prawn broth is incredibly flavorful, rich with prawn essence. The best part, you can get refills!
The prawns and other ingredients are fresh, and I love the variety they offer. There are plenty of side dishes you can add to your meal.
You have to try their 𝐻𝑜𝑚𝑒𝑚𝑎𝑑𝑒 𝐶ℎ𝑖𝑙𝑖 𝑆𝑎𝑢𝑐𝑒 if you can handle the heat. It's spicy and tangy, perfect for dipping. They also have a wide range of condiments to customize your dipping sauce.
When I got there, it was super busy with a line, but no worries, the service was quick and smooth!
Highly recommended!!
If you like prawn noodles soup base and you like hotpot, then this is the place for you.
The broth is like your prawn noodles soup and you just cook all your usual hot pot stuff into this claypot structure over charcoal fire.
The experience is new, the service is fast and price is not too bad.
My only complain is that the place is way too hot. I’m perspiring furiously despite sitting just beside the huge car park.
My in-law and us had the opportunity to customize our hotpot with a combination of fresh and frozen ingredients cooked in a thick and flavorful prawn broth. There are about 30 items in the seafood, meat and poultry category and another about 30 vegetables and tofu items to choose for your hotpot ingredients. Considering the number of big and fresh prawns swimming in the broth, we could really call it a prawn party.
We also ordered their delicious fried hokkien noodles. It was served with 2 big prawns. The 9 compartment sauce bar included fresh cut chilli padi and fresh coriander, all free flow. The homemade chilli sauce was really good.
This place is suitable for both young and old and is equipped with huge ceiling fans. A well ventilated place. The crowds start at 6.15pm on weekdays. So make sure to come early like we did.
Clean dining environment although it is located in a industrial park coffee shop👍🏻
Big ceiling fans are installed to beat the heat!
🦐Wide selection of side dishes and ingredients are fresh
🦐Complimentary free flow sauce and soup refill
🦐 Gloves provided to peel prawns
🦐 Umami prawn broth with big prawns
Worth the hype!
WCP is located in an Industrial area's canteen food court.
Claypot prawn served it over a charcoal stove which was a unique experience for my kiddos.
Their prawn broth is filled with prawn sweetness and umami! Broth and sauces are refillable. Beside the huge and fresh prawn, they also have extensive a la carte items to add-on.
Good place for family and friend gatherings.
Good food and easy for families to eat and try this together. Prawns are huuuuge and looks nice too, can call side dishes if you want.
Midday service game not so strong but should be fine in evenings.
I'm impressed by the size of the prawn and the broth! The soup is full of prawn flavour, and the best part is that the soup base is refillable! The prawn soup based consists of 10-12 pcs of prawn with shelf on. This makes the soup so flavourful, and the best parts are the kids love it!!
There are quite a variety of side dishes to choose from! Pork belly, chicken , beef, enoki mushrooms, egg tofu , mushrooms chicken ball, crab meat, prawn paste, various vegetables and all kids favourites - beancurd roll! They served the claypot in the old fashion style, cooked in the charcoal !!
Price varies from $0.80 to $8.80, at a very affordable price! You can choose your own condiments as well!
I love the prawn paste because it comes with tobiko!!! Super yums!!!
Overall, both adults and kids love it! Yums!!
Claypot prawn hotpot served over a charcoal stove, featuring a prawn broth simmered for hours, burnting with umami goodness. Enjoy free-flow broth and sauces at no extra charge. Choose from a wide variety of ingredients to enhance your meal. Disposable gloves are provided for a mess-free experience.
Quite a unique prawn broth which is rich in flavour and taste; it is served with many prawns filled to the brim! Pleasant selection of sides to go with the hotpot with prices ranges from $0.80 to $12.80 for seafood options. Free refills of broth, sauces and staff are nice. Will return for their Hokkien mee which we didn’t try during this visit.
Not sure what’s the hype about this. But to be honest I find the prawns are not that fresh. It stick to the shell make it quite hard to peel. The soup should have a lot of msg. After eating we felt very thirsty. After taking out all the not so fresh prawn. Is like just a normal hotpot on charcoal.
Hokkien mee prawns looks much better than those in claypot and it taste just like normal Hokkien mee. What’s the bonus or hype about? I have no idea.
Will I go back again? I don’t think so.
This new Woodlands Claypot Prawn 打边炉 place is first of its kind in SG and trending widely on the social media so brought the family to check it out.
Place was crowded but I must admit service was fast once you can get a table and place the order.
We ordered assorted dishes and ingredients to complement the Claypot Prawns..
> Claypot Prawns $32.8 (12 prawns)
> Australian Beef, Hokkaido Scallops $10.8ea
> Hokkien Mee, Shabu Pork $8.8ea
> Yong Tau Foo Beanskin, Seafood Tofu, Fish Paste, Toman Fish Slices, $6.8ea
> Black Fungus, Wa Wa Cai, Enoki $2.8ea
> Thick Beehoon $0.8
Prawns were big and had a good bite. Prawn broth was totally appropriate for the hotpot and the taste boosted by the charcoal cooking. I was even thinking of bringing own whisky to level up the taste on the next trip.
The moonlight Hokkien Mee is an interesting take and stirring in the yolk added creaminess to the noodles.
Portions were ample and no complain on the prices.
Family enjoyed the meal but the problem with charcoal fire is it cannot be turned down until you add the broth.
The food is great especially the soup broth. The prawns are huge and fresh. Highly recommend to try their Hokkien mee too. The wok hei is there n love the dampness of the noodles.
They serve this specialty prawn broth that has a natural sweetness and rich umami essence, complemented by a smoky aroma from the flaming charcoal!
The broth itself already comes with 12 to 15 prawns, and you can choose from a wide selection of over 50 ingredients including seafood, meat and veggies, to zing up your meal. The options range from Beehoon ($0.80) to Shabu Pork ($8.80) and Hokkaido Scallops ($10.80).
There's also a medley of sauces such as raw garlic and Japanese sesame dressing that you can complement your meal with. The broth is also refillable, so don't be afraid to ask for more!
Was surprised to find Hokkien Mee on the menu as well. Topped with a tantalising egg yolk, it reminds me of "moonlight horfun". The noodles were wet yet springy, though their rendition has more yellow mee than thick beehoon.
The prawn broth is very flavourful and full of umami! Wide variety of side dishes (love the prawn paste) and free flow of condiments. A very satisfying meal overall.
Their Speciality Prawn Broth consist of more than 10 big prawns cooked with fresh prawn heads over charcoal. Enjoy 🆓 soup refills coupled with 🆓 flow non chargeable sauce bar!
Choose from a selection of over 50 add-on ingredients at prices starting as low as S$0.80, for additional staple, favourite meats, seafood, and vegetables. We recommend ordering their moonlight hor-fun inspired Hokkien Mee served with prawns, squid, pork belly, crispy pork lard and a luscious raw egg 😋.
You don’t have to worry about dirtying your hands because 🆓 disposable gloves are also provided for prawn peeling 🙌! Although the place can get crowded, there are big fans installed to keep the place cooling.
I came all the way to try SG first ever claypot prawn! 🦐 Each claypot comes with a generous amount of prawns and a jug with soup refill too!
I really enjoyed the prawns and the bursting cheese balls! ⚠️ It's hot inside, so be careful!
They also have free flow of condiments available for you to mix and match to your own taste buds. Their homemsde 🌶️ sauce is also 😋
Their service staff is friendly and efficient too! Kudos to them
A great place for family and friends gathering. A Yummy Charcoal Claypot filled with big prawns! Prawn broth has unlitmited free refill and theres plenty of steamboat choices and seasoning to choose from! Fried Hokkien Mee is fully sold out when we reach there
Enjoyed my time here with my friends, the broth super flavourful and thick, very tasty! The prawn also big, they have wide range of side dish to go along! So we ate very full even without rice/noodles.
They also very nice to check the charcoal and dont allow the fire to blow at our face.. thumbs up 👍
Woodlands Claypot Prawn serves delicious claypot prawns. The prawns are well-cooked in a tasty broth, and the claypot adds a nice touch. It has a cozy atmosphere and friendly staff, making it perfect for a relaxed meal with family and friends.
Super love their rich prawn broth, which comes with a generous number of prawns! You know a stall is popular when almost everyone in the industrial estate is having Claypot Prawn. You can also order other ingredients. We highly recommend choosing radish, Australian beef slices and shabu pork.
Kickstart the flavor party with Singapore’s first & largest Charcoal Claypot Prawn - Woodlands Claypot Prawn ! 🥘
Servings of prawns were super generous - on top of the super umami-rich broth. Feel free to pick out whichever sides you prefer from the wide variety available for selection.
My favorite sides were Fish Paste 🐟 & Hokkaido Scallop 🐚
They offer free-flow sauce bar, unlimited refillable soup, disposable gloves to peel prawns. A perfect place with cooling big fans to hangout and feast to your heart’s content ! 🤤
Free Parking is available for this outlet ! 🚘
Grab the order sheet & marker at the cashier and start queueing! We visited on a Friday dinner timeslot 7pm and there was queue. Tick the ingredients, make payment (paynow available), grab your bowls utensils and sauces!
The service is really efficient despite the crowd. Claypot was cooked over charcoal which was hard to find nowadays! Broth was flavourful. Dining experience was really good, we spend $96 for 4 pax and was stuffed. Soup is refillable.
Parking is very ulu and location is not easy accessible by public transport.
Located At A Wulu Industrial Area @ Woodlands. The Prawn Broth Was Flavourful, Wun Feel Thirsty After Drinking. The Pork Belly Was V Fatty Which I Dun Like. Prawn Claypot Itself Had Total Of 12 Prawns. Place Was Crowded, Hot & Sweating While Eating. Uncle Carrying The Charcoal Stove Walked V Fast As Understand its V Heavy. Just Worried He Might Accidentally Bumped The Stove Into Ppl Esp Playful Kids.
Second time here. Love the thick prawn broth with many fresh prawns in it. Good dinner option for sharing with your family and friends.
Would recommend friends and family to try out their claypot prawns! Love the sweet broth and most importantly all the steamboat ingredients are fresh. The chopped garlic paired with their chilli also nicee good for dipping. It's crowded but worth the wait and queue for it. 👍. Didn't get to try their hokkien mee cos sold out. Will be back for it
Satisfy your craving for rich, comforting broth at Woodlands Claypot Prawn! We ordered the Speciality Prawn Broth ($32.80) which come with 12 large fresh prawns, simmered over hot flaming charcoal.
There's over 50 sides dishes to choose from ($2.80 - $10.80). With unlimited broth refills and a complimentary sauce bar, you can satisfy your cravings and dip to your heart's content! Don't miss out on their signature Hokkien Mee, priced at $8.80, though I wish there were more pork lard.
Plus, enjoy the airy ambiance of this industrial kopitiam, and free parking, making it the perfect spot for gatherings with family and friends.
One of those weird culinary dreams of mine came true with prawn noodle stock used in hot pot. You can skip the processed food and order whole foods such pork belly, toman fish and wawa chai! Back for a second time and possibly a third soon…
I have to say the prawn broth really pack a punch! When we took the first mouth of the prawn broth, it was soooo good! Also, the prawns were so fresh and big! Gloves also provided to peel the prawns!
Although the charcoal was burning strongly but we do not feel too much of the heat, cause the place comes with many big fan making it so cooling! The soup also came with many side dishes to choose from. We really enjoyed our meal especially during rainy period! Highly recommend to try out on SG FIRST AND LARGEST CHARCOAL CLAYPOT PRAWN!!
Love how the Claypot Prawns entice our senses with its savoury allure!🔥 This is a culinary masterpiece that delights our taste buds with its depth of flavor and irresistible appeal.
The prawns 🦐: As the prawns cook in the claypot, the spices infuse into the meat, creating a mouthwatering aroma that fills the air. The prawns become tender and flavourful, with a hint of smokiness and unami that makes each bite truly unforgettable. 🤤
The ingredients ☘️: A wide variety of choices ranging from hotpot favourites like mushrooms, fish paste and prawns paste to pork slices and beef cuts to your preference.
We also love the Hokkien mee! It’s so flavourful & shiok with the sambal chilli😋 Will definitely return for more ~
Hotpot with rich and flavourful prawn broth. Can’t stop raving about the soup that comes with ~12 fresh and large prawns ($32.80) 🦐👍🏻
They also have a variety of add-on ingredients ranging from $2.80 to $10.80. Special mention to the fish slices that were SO fresh!
Plus points for 1) free disposable gloves to peel prawns 2) free-flow sauce (my fam loved the homemade chili) 3) unlimited soup refill ✨ definitely worth a try! However, do note that parking is abit challenging as the place gets quite crowded by 6pm on weekends.
Follow me @mentaik.o on ig for more food reviews!
Ordering was quite easy. But a lot of queue for order and queue for sauce and condiments .
Clay pot came fast . Prawn was normal. Some stick to prawn meat… meaning thr prawn is not that fresh. Overall a good experience . Try one is ok for me
Interesting claypot concept with generous amounts of 12-15 prawns that came with the broth ($32.80)! Love the abundance of sauce choices as well, & that there is free parking.
Visited on a Friday dinner time, it was abit crowded but the food serving speed was very prompt. I like that there is alot of difference sauces there, even sauces like Japanese Sesame, Hot Chicken Korea Sauce, Black Pepper Sauce, all of which are free flow!
Broth comes with 12 - 15 prawns which are big and fresh. Other ingredients such as scallops, fish, pork, vegetables, etc. are very fresh too. The ingredients are priced as low as $0.80.
Love that they have free flow sauce bar, refillable soup and they are also very considerate to provide disposable gloves for peeling the prawns.
It's hot due to the charcoal but there are big fans to cool the area. The parking is free there but better to go early as it's quite full.
The food is very tasty and my family enjoyed it very much. Highly recommended!
First time trying this . Something special. The prawn broth was just nice , not too over powering. Prawn is big. Pricing is reasonable.
The soup was soo flavourful!! The prawns were meaty, fresh and sweet 😍😍 Hidden gem at woolands, highly recommend!!
Excellent food
DELICIOUS broth
Succulent fresh tiger prawns - very generous
Fresh seafood including options like hokkaido scallops and snow crab
Free flow soup top up
Claypot prawn is truly a not to miss. Broth is thick & flavourful & prawns are juicy & fresh. Love the food!
these are the JUICIEST BIGGEST PRAWNS you will EVER see in singapore 🤭🫶🏻
woodlands claypot prawn's prawns were honestly INCREDIBLE. every piece of prawn was INCREDIBLY fresh, and were perfectly juicy with that rich seafood flavour 🤌🏻 the broth itself was SO UMAMI too. it was not too heavy on the stomach, but OH SO FLAVOURFUL. it was SUCH a treat, a true 10/10 (and not just to me, to my three generational family ✨)
if you think that only their prawns are delish, you are WRONG. their sides were all SCRUMPTIOUS. the serving sizes were not only EXTREMELY generous, but they were all wonderfully fresh and when cooked in that rich broth, it was truly a flavour explosion 💥 they provide more than FIFTY THREE sides. and trust me, they DO NOT skimp on the taste. some of our favorites include their beef, shabu pork, scallops, button mushroom and cheese tofu! (don't worry, there is something for everyone 🫶🏻)
and as if the prawns and sides aren't enough, there was even a condiment station for you to create as MANY sauces as your heart desires 😉 my family not only enjoyed chilli, but also sesame sauce, soya sauce and more!
overall, woodlands claypot prawn is 100% A MUST VISIT 🔥 with their HEAVENLY prawns and broth, and their GENEROUS sides, every single cent is WORTH IT. so what are you waiting for? GO TRY THEM OUT NOW 💫
I went there with my family today and would definitely recommend it. The prawn broth has a rich flavor that we loved. The dry prawn noodles were a hit, even with my picky sister who gave them a high rating. There are many different condiments to choose from and a variety of side dishes to add to your meal. The ingredients are super fresh. I will definitely come back again. Highly recommend!
The broth has such nice clean prawn taste
The food were fresh and service was good!!
Able to refill soup and charcoal if needed
Would love to b back here again!!
yummy hokkien mee and super flavorful broth!! The chilli was solid 10/10
Super savoury and delicious 🤤 me and my kids love their soup 😍 their menus have a lot varieties to choose too.
Definitely will drop by again.
Very tasty prawn broth at affordable prices. Hokkoen mee is also very good. Recommend to order the bursting fishball as well.
A little bit inaccessible if one is coming from MRT/Bus but vibes were IMMACULATE?! I wish this place was opened until 3am because me and my friends sat from 7:30pm until closing time... We got 12 dishes + Prawn Claypot and prawns were HUGE and so juice aaa
My favourite was the broth!! Something I would want to devour at 3am after a nights out LOL
🌟Honest Review🌟
Other than your usual HaiDiLao or Beauty in the Pot this is another option to hotpot however, their broth does contains msg. You’ll be given an extra kettle of broth and it would be enough to last you :) Gloves was provided to peel the prawns too! The hokkien mee was full of wok hey but lack flavours, it tasted bland.
You do have to either drive there or grab over since it is located in an industrial area so it does gets warm :)
In all, I wouldn’t travel all the way since I can easily get a bowl of prawn noodle near me if I crave for prawn broth :) But it’s good to try it out since it’s new!
The prawn broth is so thick and customer service was fast. Recommended!
Super tasty, the prawns are very big and super fresh! Highly recommend the hokkien mee 😍😍😍
amazing food, helpful staff, but the tables are a little too small, so the fire does kinda blow at you alot, and its really hot, probably should use less charcoal, overall still a great meal :)
its e trend nw, but not cheap...i rather go for prawn steamboat at geylang bahru
service fast, free flow sauce
can try
Prawn is fresh, but soup has some noodle taste. Is very crowded but service was fast. The beef slice is fatty. added 4 sides + 1 pot 12 prawns total $68.
Excellent place to dine with my family ..Prawns are big and fresh...
Food taste is nice and staff are friendly
Good job chef Allan , hokkien mee delicious wohoo
Soup is nice but a bit pricy for the standard of the food and the environment
Food is so delicious and provides good services! Their prawns are big, fresh and juicy, definitely will come back again!
The place is quite empty at night, because it is nearby a factory, so there are not many people. At night, they only open Indian stalls, spicy hotpot, bak kut teh, water stalls and this shrimp stall. . . There are a lot of seats and the ceiling is very high... It's very comfortable, spacious and not crowded... The boss plays the music loudly and the atmosphere is great
The food is actually a bit expensive. 12 shrimps and shrimp soup are 32 yuan. I ordered 2 vegetables, a beef slice, mushrooms, fish paste, and yuba.
It cost 60+😒. I didn’t eat very much. I split 30+ per person between 2 people. If I was full, it probably cost 40-50 per person.
Last order should be from 8 o'clock to 9 o'clock.
The food is delicious and the service is also very good 👍
good job chef allan
